  Hi all

  I have a Bold 9000 on o2 (UK) network running on 4.6.0.303.  I noticed on the download page dedicated to my carrier on blackberry.com v5.0 is finally available for the 9000 "BOLD".  I then downloaded and installed, but the Desktop Manager fails to recognize and offer only 4.6 for my "BOLD".  Even when I try the software update in the Desktop Manager it tells me that my device is up-to-date.  I never "doctored" files or original firmware and used only never before Desktop Manager to install updates of the firmware.

  I waited for centuries for my network offer the new firmware so it's frustrating that now, it appeared, I can actually do something with it.  Any help / advice greatly appreciated.

  You have already found form your carrier, downloaded and installed the operating system on your PC?

  Make a backup of your device first, using Desktop Manager > backup. Close the office at the end Manager.

  1. download the OS files to the PC then install on the PC by running (double click) the downloaded file.
  2. go in c:\program files Research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
  3. plug in the BB and double-click on "Loader.exe." It is located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

  Weird...

  You could remove the application right on the BB itself. Untethered, follow these steps:

  • Homescreen > Options > Advanced Options > Applications > highlight, but do not select the app > BBKey > delete

  See if that does it.

  I'm turning crazy connection.

  I installed desktop manager 4.6 provided on the CD, as the user guide says. I connected the cable between my BB 8220 pearl.

  The BB asks me if I want to turn Mode mass storage and I clicked 'YES '.

  Explorer Windows allows me to view the contents of the phone.

  BB Device Manager tells me that "" USB - PIN: xxxx is connected ".

  YET in the Desktop Manager software on the upper left corner, it says 'Disconnect' and on the lower left corner, it says: "Device Connected (PIN): No.

  Does anyone know why the BB device manager says the BB is connected by software office says the opposite?

  I have tried everything to uninstall for re - install desktop Manager and also pass the phone power on and off.

  Well, two answers could be correct according to what you were doing. If you performed the backup, and then he did. If you have not run the backup, then it does not.   I can't find my icon of bbm anywhere, even not in the bar to switch applications. I was updating it from app world blackberry, then the progress of update has failed. bbm icon was there until later that day, I deleted something and the phone was in need of a reboot so I rebooted it and since then I can not find the icon of anywhere. I tried to download it again from the appworld, it always says that there are already, but I can't find it yet. and I'm also trying to update nd it always says error update! Please help me!

  I just got a Verizon BB Bold 9650.  I have an iMac running the latest version of Snow Leopard.  I downloaded the Desktop Manager and it sync was my calendars and notes but not my contacts.  Contacts is gray and it has this message:

  Contacts are currently configured for a wireless sync.

  To synchronize the Contacts with the BB Desktop Manager, disable the wireless sync by opening address book on your device and in the Options menu, by selecting your AddressBook and changing the field of no. wireless sync reconnect your device and try to synchronize again.

  The only options I get are to sort and separate or allow duplicate names or views confirm the deletions.

  I clicked on each tab and I can find the button and there is no option anywhere wireless sync.  Manual provided with the phone and the manual in PDF format are both pretty useless.  It's as if they were designed for another phone running a different os because I can't find half of what I'm looking for by following their instructions.

  It's very frustrating because the main reason I went with the BB because they announced that their phone to synchronize with the mac address book and calendars.

  YEA - my contacts are now on my BB bold.  With the assistance of Verizon.  On my phone, to go down as a result of get to the wireless sync option.

  Open contacts

  Press the menu button

  Click on options

  Choose the e-mail address

  Then, you have the option of wireless sync.

  Apparently the gmail accounts auto together towards the top for wireless synchronization but the OS X address book do not like that.  You must disable the gmail wireless synchronization (this includes all .edu also addresses) and then can be synced to the BB.

I'm trying to "update" but still, it stops at halfway and says that the device has enough memory, even if it has 20 MB of memory available.   If you try to download the latest version of App World so make sure that your OS device using versions 6.0.0.706 or higher, namely that = Options > device > any device Version > first series of numbers on the third line.

  If you are running a lower version then please download App World version 4.0.0.55 for BlackBerry from your browser go to  http://mobileapps.blackberry.com/devicesoftware/entry.do?code=appworld3 to download 4.0.0.55 on your device.

  Sorry, I misread it, because the missing icon AppWorld was rumored for many, and I jumped in with this solution too quickly.
