Disable mac leaning UCS

We have a single fabric interconnect with 7 on connected servers. I get the traffic that I want to capture on one server but the destination Mac are not for this server. Because of this, the packets are getting rejected by the interconnection of fabric. This traffic is on vlan 4090. Is it possible to send all traffic for the 4090 VLAN through a particular server? Establishing a new vnic to benefit from all that traffic would be ideal.

If this does not make sense, here's the longer description of what I'm trying to do. I have a traffic flow which is a mirror of RADIUS and dhcp of our radius traffic, and DHCP servers. We want to capture all the traffic on a server and store it in a file. We have the workflow and you can see the traffic on a server not UCS by setting the network adapter in promiscuous mode before turning off learning mac on a switch non - UCS that we use. However, in the environment of the UCS these packages don't get through. In short, can I put off learning mac (or whatever the FI do) just for the vlan 4090 and flood these packets to any server with a vnic on 4090?

Hi Mike,.

It makes perfect sense.  You want to basically COVER all the traffic and use of the destination vNIC interface.  See CSCtr80980.

This feature is not currently supported.

What you could do is send a one-way to the UCS VM ERSPAN session if your source allows it.  What are the sources servers connected to? Nexus switch?   (Wireshark can that decapsulating and save it in a wheelchair-capture file.)

This is intentional and one of the new security features of Capitan E - the protection of the integrity of the system.  You may not modify the software system, even as an administrator.

Photos is installed as an essential part of the system and not a separate application. To be able to uninstall it you have to disable the protection of the integrity of the system by booting into recovery. Not a good idea.

I am trying to install an IP camera, but it does not recognize the system. The catalogue of IP camera says make sure to disable filtering of MAC addresses. I don't know how and where I should do. I have Windows 7 installed on my system.

  • UCS mac address problem

    Hi all

    simple question...

You may know if it is a bug of mac address learning with version 1.4.1?

I have go a blade with a mix of palo and other cards, some vnic are pinned to link rising with trunk allowed vlan 501 on both sides. On the blades of the UCS, i've got ESX and ESXi. Service console is labelled VLAN 501 (depending on the configuration of the trunk switch UCS and uplink). Some blade had obtained these interface pinned on the UCS6100 A and another on B (with failover). The fact is that if I ping from outside UCS UCS (ESX) inside no learning of mac is performed on all infrastructure.

I don't know problem is the UCS because if I erase the mac table UCS, nothing works... and all the works if I start doing a ping of the UCS. I also tried to put the switch uplink static mac (ESX service console) but was not helpful.

    I hope this isn't a 1.4.1 bug...

    TNX and tnx for help

    Dan

Y at - it you using uplink groups pine or have a network of layer 2 disjoint by chance?

Questions like these are ususally PIN-related groups / Disjoint L2 using the wrong link DR port for traffic entering.  When the traffic is generated from within the outgoing UCS, the MAC table is updated on the upstream switch which allows traffic to flow, until he gets older.

If one of them is the case I suggest take you a look at the videos of Brad name video #6:

  • Problem with security of the ports and disabled learning MAC addresses?

    Hello

Is there a problem, or incompatibility, if you configure the port-security on "n" ports that belong to X vlan and also disable mac-address-table of learning on this vlan?

Someone did he do reference, links or PDFs on this problem?

    Thank you very much

    Best regards.

    Hi Javier,

As I showed above, the combination is valid. I did not all static entries in the security of the ports, but all entries learned through port security will be shown as static on the show see the mac address table. All dynamic learning is disabled.

I don't know what kind of security problem, that you try to resolve, but the configuration is valid.

  • Problem with MAC pinning and new VLAN

[Cross Announces nexus 1000V and forums of the UCS]

Hi all, I have a working of the UCS 1.4 configuration (3i) and the Nexus 1000V 1.4 and according to best practices guide uses "channel-group auto on mac - pinning mode" on the uplink of Nexus. I have a problem when you add a new VLAN in this environment, and it is a reproducible problem in two different facilities.

I pass by the VLAN usual creation process on the Nexus, the network upstream and within the UCS himself. I create new port vethernet profile and set it as an access port in the new VIRTUAL LAN. However when I join a VM (existing or new) to this new port vethernet profile in vCentre virtual machine cannot communicate with anything. However, if I disable MAC pinning with 'no channel-group auto on mac - pinning mode', the virtual machine will start instantly talk to the outside world and the new VIRTUAL LAN is running. Can I turn MAC pinning back once again, and everything continues to work.

So the question is, is this normal or is there a problem? MAC the Θtiquetage has a brief interruption of the uplink, so is not a viable long-term customer solution when they want to add new VLAN. Is it possible to add new VLANS in this scenario without any unavailability of the network, but brief?

    Thank you

  • Adding an Apple TV 4 to one address active MAC network, what a task.

Not sure if this is the right place to post this.

I helped someone get their 4 ATV connected to a network address mac-compatible. Normally it's pretty easy. WIFI MAC address are on the box or the documentation. Not so in this case. How Apple has it set up I could not just go to "Network' page blah blah" About"page and get the address. I had to actually connect the Ethernet of the ATV in the router and then access the routers GUI to get the Ethernet address and then add this address to the allowed devices and continue with the implementation.

Once I get it set up when connected via Ethernet and "update" the ATV went to find the MAC address of WIFI and even, it was a bit a task, lol. Of course I had to unplug the Ethernet to find, but when it appeared he ended up at the bottom of the page almost not visible and this page won't let me scroll down to exit the faded area, that is. Incredible. At least, I found and could add to the list of devices 'allowed', lol. Maybe there is an easier way, but I'm not hang something like that every day it's like a new learning experience, whenever I'm helping someone hang one of these devices.

I could not use my iPhone for the configuration because I needed to add the address ATV4 to the network wifi enabled devices. Also, I could not use the iPhone to the owner because it fell recently and has connection "issues."

I hung it in the end and work and maybe this can help someone else.

Does anyone else have experience? Is there an easier way?

  • Mac Mail destroyed the Internet connection

Every once in a while when I travel and use a new Wifi (in a hotel of any public place) my bloody Mac Mail won't send.  Sometimes, it actually slows down my internet connection to the point where it is unusable.  If I disable Mac Mail, internet finally returns to normal for navigation.

Why does this happen? I know it has something to do with the "ports" or some other nonsense, but it drives me crazy!

Please after the release of Etrecheck here and someone can take a look at the configuration of the system.

When the problem occurs, use Console.app and activity Monitor.app to try to isolate what's going on.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8620: HP 8620 found by iPhone or Mac

My mac and my iPhone no longer find our HP Officejet Pro 8620.  Have restarted all devices.  Reset the printer to the factory settings and reconnected to the wireless home network.  Mac and printer are wireless connected to the same network.  Printer has latest version of the firmware.  Printer copies and prints the pages of test and configuration fine.

I just can't print via AirPrint from my iPhone, or add it as a printer to my Mac. When I go into Printers/Scanners, the printer is not found... not by IP address or host name, or the other.  I have tried everything and am almost ready to go buy a non HP printer... This is the second HP finnicky, we had.  Help, please.

In addition, we have an Airport Extreme router, if that helps at all.

    Hey @IowaMom,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that you have some problems with the printing of your Apple devices to your Officejet Pro 8620 e-all-in-one printer. I can help you with that.

To start, make sure that the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet, not a surge protector. Once done, on the printer, click on the wireless icon that looks like a radio tower. Now:

    • If you see a line indicating the status: not connected, then the printer is not connected to a wireless network. Click on the gears and wireless wireless configuration settings to connect the printer to your wireless network.
    • If the IP address of the printer starts with 169.254, the printer is not get a correct IP address of your router. Contact Apple or one that is provided with the router to determine why the printer is not getting a valid IP address.
    • If the IP address of the printer starts with 172, the printer is connected to a network of comments. Contact Apple or one that provided you with the router for assistance with deactivation of the feedback network.
    • If the IP address of the printer starts with 192.168 or 10, the printer is properly connected to a wireless network. Please see below.
    • If the IP address of the printer starts with another number, your network is maintained. Contact, who has set up the support network with the printer connected to your wireless network.

At this point, you should be able to print. If you are unable to print, the next step would be to check the printer and all the devices to ensure that the first three sets of numbers in their IP addresses match. If they match, there is a setting on the router to which the printer is having problems with. Contact Apple or the one who gave you the router and ask them to do the following:

    • Open all ports.
    • Select multicast.
    • Disable MAC filtering/MAC cloning.
    • Disable the network of comments.
    • Make sure that the router broadcasts a band of 2.4 GHz (gigahertz).

Please let me know the results after following the above. If you are unable to resolve your problem, please click on accept solution. If you appreciate my help, please click on the thumbs up icon. The two icons are below this post.

  • LaserJet MFP M277c6: LaserJet MFP M277c6 will not connect wirelessly to my Mac

When I run HP Easy Start it says that no devices were found.  And when I run the update of the HP Firmware finds it too never unit.  The printer indicates that it is connected wireless.

My Mac connects to my old Epson printer very well.

    Help!

If there is no printer listed, this means that there is a setting on the network to which the printer is having a problem with. To resolve this please contact your internet provider or one that handles the router and ask them to do the following:

    1. Open all ports.
    2. Select multicast.
    3. Disable MAC filtering/MAC cloning.
    4. Disable the network of comments.
    5. Make sure that the network has a band of 2.4 GHz (gigahertz).

Please let me know the results after these parameters controlled.

Hi I have a wrt110 router that has an attached cable windows desktop. I have also several mac laptop connected wireless, as well as a printer hp, video game system blue ray player, ipod, iphone and kindle all who connect without problem. I have a laptop (Dell) who can see and connect to my network but will not connect not not to the internet. I tried to disable and even temporarily remove the antivirus software more disable the firewall, but without success. I am at my wits end because I need laptop for work. Internet connects to the laptop when I hard connect it in the router.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Try this.  Disable IPv6 on all Win 7 computers under properties cable adapters and wireless LAN.  Restart the computers.  Let the disabled MAC for now.  Try to connect all devices except the successful MAC connect Mac and if they number, disable IPv6 on those now too.  Ensure that the WRT110 on firmware 1.0.04)is or greater.

  • MAC address filtering problem with router DI-624 and printer HP D110

Just got the wireless D110 printer and cannot connect to the wireless router.

    I have a D - Link DI - 624 Air Plus Xtreme G 2 .4GHz Wireless Router.

The error message I get from the printer, it's that "address filtering Mac can be activated on your wireless router. This can prevent your HP printer to connect to your network without wire during installation... etc. ".

The D-Link is configured with WPA - PSK security. If I disable all the security the wireless printer is able to connect. I can't connect the printer to the wireless router with WPA - PSK or WEP same active. There is no connection with the electrician the printer and the router.

I have connected the router Admin and have repeatedly confirmed that Mac filtering is turned off by going to Advanced Options > Filters > filters Mac > and choose disabled Mac filters. Where is this setting? Why is not able to connect printer?

In addition, I check the logs on the router and it shows "Wireless PC connected" and "Authentication successful" with a note that has the Mac address of the corresponding hardware address mac hardware of the printer on the wireless network Test report. It seems that the router is to let printing but the printer is not able to communicate for some reason any. It even shows under status > wireless printer is connected.

When I talked to HP, they said to contact the router company and they couldn't help. When I called D-Link, they said technical support is no longer available for the model. I am stuck, can anyone help?

Windows XP, tried the front of the printer and USB connection and using the software.

After a few hours on the phone with the D-Link and HP, the problem has been resolved.

Apparently, even if that Mac filtering is disabled (set to disabled MAC filters), the Mac address had to enter the router to enable all keeping off Mac filter setting. To me he appeared in the counter intuitive to enter the Mac address, while set to disabled the Mac filter so I wasn't that before picking up the phone with HP. Further on this point, the problem is not going away right after adding the mac address, but rather after the reboot of the router, such as the addition of mac address did not effect, without a reboot of the device.

HP has been much more useful than a D-Link on it, although it would be nice for HP to add to their instructions and Test report of wireless network to add the Mac address, just in case. I would have tried this step if it has stated that it is acceptable to add the mac address and keep the mac filters disabled.

  • WRT600N - Wireless MAC Filter Table will not retain MAC for the Droid 2 phones

    Hello

I have a Linksys WRT600N router and I succumbed adding our new Motorola Droid 2 to the MAC table on the Wireless Security tab.

It allows access if I disable MAC filtering wireless and appears on the list of clients, but when I try to add the customer list or manually enter the MAC table, it does not retain it when I save it. The only thing that seems different from the MAC standard is the 1 byte

    (F8:7 B: 7 A: 76:98:22 is the MAC of my phone).

I don't want to leave my network open and prefer to avoid using a WEP key if possible.

Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong or is this a bug? Y at - it a firmware update I have to apply to this effect in my MAC filter (current version is 1.01.36 build 3)?

Oh and I'm not worried about hackers if as much as deterrence of neighbors stealing my bandwidth. To implement the keys on all my devices was too much time to consider unless a last resort. MAC filters make it also easier for me to add guests fairly quickly.
