Disks do not start

Hello

Having a problem with discs not start after being inserted in the CD/R drive.  I went to the control panel and clicked on properties of the device, who told me ' device working properly "under State of the device under the general tab.  I tried to uninstall and reinstall the drive, but the same question.  I even installed a comparable training I know works correctly and same problem.  Every indication is that it is plugged in and properly installed but when I insert a disc, it makes noise and is clearly running but nothing ever starts from the disc and sound stops after about 1 min.  I tried following the guide of standard Windows trbleshooting where he asked me to go into the registry but don't see anything about "upper" or "lower registers" on the right side that I was invited to seek.  Any suggestions?

  • DVD - ROM Toshiba Recovery disk does not start

    Hello

I'm having some problems with my Toshiba Satellite M40, and I decided to reinstall the OS with the recovery of the dvd disk, but the disk does not start.
When I'm on windows, the cd/dvd driver works perfectly, and I don't think that the recovery of the dvd disk are damaged.
    I have already tried:
    1. by pressing the "C" key to start the computer
    2 - press "F12".
3 - Enter the BIOS Setup and select cd-rom to start first

But the computer starts up normally and no error message appears

Can someone help me? I don't know what to do

    Thank you

    Hello Palma

Can you please test it with some other bootable CD or DVD? It will be interesting to know if this happens with the recovery media only or even with other bootable media.

  • No keyboard, no blocked on Windows 8 and Windows 8 boot disk does not start

I have a 15 inch Macbook Pro mid 2013 (I think, I can check if it helps). There are 2 days that the SPACEBAR on my keyboard broke. I hear there as soon as I turn on my laptop it is still active as if I am pressing on it and as soon as I get to type anything, by pressing any other key on the keyboard, the EEG SPACEBAR take off and won't work at all. From what I could tell, it's an electrical problem with the contacts on the keyboard and after going a TI repair shop, they said that the only solution is to change the keyboard altogether. In the meantime, I bought a USB keyboard.

I am also under Windows 8 in Bootcamp and I left it usually automatically connect to OS X and I just use the Alt key at startup when I go into Windows. However I have noticed that since the space bar is stuck and active at startup, I can no longer press Alt to change Windows, I decided to change the automatic boot from OS X to Windows disk and restart thinking I could just repeat the process when I am done going back to OS X. But for some reason unknown, Windows 8 will not start, just of takes me to the windows icon and freezes. Sometimes a message saying "Prepare the automatic repair" will appear under the icon of windows, but it is still frozen. Now I'm stuck in this boot sequence and I can't switch back to OS X since the Alt key will not work.

Now my questions are: is there a way to switch partitions in the boot without a keyboard? Or is there a way to cut completely from the Mac keyboard and use the USB, one instead? Or even a way to break the contact of the space completely bar so stop because I change the keyboard completely in any case and it would be just a temporary solution? Thanks for any info!

If the battery on your Mac has inflated because of charge cycles, it can push against the keyboard, causing its functioning. Have you checked the battery to abnormal expansion?

  • When I try to do a disk defrag it says defrag disk could not start. Why__

I'm trying to drive defrag, but it says it could not start.  What should I do to fix this

Select Start, run, type cmd and press ENTER. Type "chkdsk c: /f /r" without the quotes and press ENTER. Make sure you include the spaces indicated. Enter Y when asked if you want to run chkdsk on restart the computer. Quit and then restart the computer.

Marking bad sectors on a hard disk takes time so be patient. Delimiting does not repair a defective sector. He places pointers to the reader by saying the system not to read or write to these areas that have been damaged.

If the number of defective sectors continued to increase after using the procedure above several times, then you should replace the disk. If an important system file is written to a bad sector, you can corrupt the registry hives and lose the entire contents of the disc.

However if have run chkdsk you not see more new bad sectors, then the reader can work for you for years.

    Hope this helps, Gerry Cornell

  • My vista restore disk does not start in my computer. Is it possible to get a new drive?

Compaq PresarioSR5130NX with AMD Athlon 64 x 2 processor. Wouldn't start. Console Startup Repair did not help, not even in safe mode. Tried to restore partition, says error. Tried to restore System Restore disk. First authorized disc formatting my drive, second disk would not be executed. Now I'm stuck with no operating system and no disc to recharge. Any ideas?

    Hello

You may have a hardware problem which is the cause.

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

  • Win 7 repair disk does not start

Pegatron Motherboard-IPIWB-PB (Pittsburg) Audio Beats. AMD, the Radeon HD 7570 1 GB graphics card.

    I need some advice:

Can you direct me to a HP solution or tell me what I'm doing wrong?

I opened Control Panel - backup and restore and set up a backup schedule Win 7. Created a backup drive, and according to the instructions, a system image on a separate hard drive. This has been created successfully.

I have so successfully by the operating system, created an ERD in Windows 7 bootable, the screen guests said that this disc could be used to start the computer when you cannot start the operating system due to serious errors. This disk allows you to restore the system from a system image created using backup and restore or use other recovery tools to correct the problem that prevents windows from starting.

The system does not start on this disc. I did two restorations of the factory and went through the steps above, five times without success.

When you try to start the system with the Windows 7 repair disk the following steps were taken:

1 Win7 disc repair, system rebooted, you press ESC, selected the Boot Manager, select DVD disc and received the following message: boot nonsystem disc error.

2 rebooted system. escape, Startup Manager, then selected sata2 with no luck. Same error message as in (1).

    Thank you

    Hi Dave,.

    Thanks again for your help.

Bought a WD a terabyte HD Executed a copy sector by sector, using Paragon... It was quick (about ten minutes-amazing) and I answer to you, now, using the WD HD clone.

Awesome! I finally took possession of this computer.

I would say that the problem has been resolved. Windows 7 repair disc will not work on EFI systems and here's workaround.

    Thanks again.

  • Recovery disk does not start

I'm helping a friend with his HP CP61-313US laptop. Somehow, it's not boot from the hard drive. It attempts to load Windows, then crashes, gives me the black screen where you can choose the safe mode, safer networking, etc.

He will not start in safe mode or other options. It does not start from the last good configuration.

I ordered the HP recovery discs and disc inserted one of the stimulus. It won't boot from the CD. I went into the bios options and set the CD drive as the first option. I did both of in the settings BIOS F10 and F9 startup command settings. I hear work the CD player, but he keeps trying to boot from the hard drive.

I never get a message that says something like "press any key to boot from the CD-ROM."

Is there anything else I can do to force startup from the CD/DVD?

Is it possible that I can copy this HP on a flash drive recovery myself and try to boot from a flash drive. I guess it is possible that the DVD/CD player is broken. My friend who owns the computer used rarely to the reader.

Is there some other bios setting I can use? Either by the way, I ran the memory and hard drive diagnostics and they passed.

I have determined that the DVD drive on this laptop is bad or is about to fail. I tried to create a Windows repair CD and was able to read the CD. It would give me the message "Press any key to boot from CD or DVD" that I was not getting with restore disks factory HP. I put restore HP factory disks in another computer and tried to copy them. I thought that, perhaps, if my drive was any failure there is something on the factory records it would not read but maybe a freshly burnt disc copy can read. It would be almost from the start. He would try and then getting errors of e/s on the copied version of the disc. I came to the conclusion that I could find other uses for a drive DVD external USB and since they were only $40 I have advanced and bought a. I now restore since the original HP recovery discs successfully using the external DV

Key USB D. I had to upgrade the bios to boot from the DVD USB drive, but it seems to work. So you can consider my original request as 'resolved', but I can't speak for other users who have hung on this thread. But if someone has trouble with their discs original HP, I would suggest trying to make a copy of their, and maybe a copy will work. The copy almost worked for me.

  • Recovery disk will not start on Satellite 1110

I try to use the recovery on a Satellite 1110 CD. I want to just install fresh Windows. The necessary files are supposed to be on the Toshiba recovery CD that accompanies it.

So I did what the brochure says, and booted up the laptop to the top with the correct CD in the drive, while pressing 'C '. The notebook ignored the CD ROM and loaded Windows as usual. I repeated three times, each time that the CD ROM whirs a bit but will not start and Windows loads as usual. I have replaced 'C' for F12, chose the CD ROM drive in the list and repeat the process several times. Yet once it wouldn't boot from the CD-ROM.

I looked at the content of the CD ROM A single MB 447. File of the GHS. The file icon is that generic type "Windows does not know what program this icon is intended to" deals.

Google believes it is a ghost file and must the ghost installed to run it. This bitch never came with Ghost.

Anyone here knows a remedy to this problem?

(NB - I tried clean Windows system restore option, but it just brings back me to September this year. Theres no option that was more early in life for portable computers)

I am in the United Kingdom, and is a UK machine if that makes a difference.

    Hello Micha

Is this your ODD works properly with the operating system?

I put really know what exactly is happening here, but please make sure that you start with recovery CD number 1/2 2/2. The installation of recovery, you can just start with the first recovery CD. Also try please set CD-ROM as firs boot device in the BIOS.

  • Vista will not load and continually reboots, recovery disk does not start.

I have a Dell with vista on it. Recently, it has automatically installed an update and now it does not load Windows at all. It goes to the screen where I have the opportunity to "start in safe mode" "safe mode with command promt", "last known good configuration" etc. and none of these work options (all start loading them upwards and then the computer restarts just itself).

I tried to put in the cd of installation for vista, but it won't start. I changed the options in the BIOS so that it starts from the CD first, but then it just goes to another blue screen that says: there was some sort of system faliure, and the only option is to restart the computer.

I also tried to connect an external dvd player to see if he was not playing the disc because of a defect in material, but the same thing happens.

I also tried out the RAM and it put it back again (a single website suggested I try this).

Nothing seems to work! And now, I am out of options and have no idea what to try next - help!

  • HP recovery disks does not start in my HP Pavilion Dv7

I have a HP Pavilion dv7 that I have to wipe clean due to spyware. I bought the HP system recovery DVD and on them it says "to start, insert the disc into the optical drive of your computer and follow the on-screen instructions." Unfortunately, I insert the disc, and I get the info from the upcoming disc, but no instructions. I even tried to make the laptop run from the disk drive at first upward. When I did he asked me to create system recovery discs. I didn't need to make them, I have them from HP. Just frustrated about why the HP drive are not following the instructions.

Here is a picture of the screen I get when the disc is inserted:

I really hope that someone can help me that I've been waiting to do this for weeks, since I had to wait for discs.

    Thank you

    KC

You are the very welcome, KC.

If you can not boot from the DVD, it may indeed be a bad disk.

Also, make sure that you have disk 1 in the first to start from.

And Yes, you should get a very brief message to hit any key to boot from the CD, then watch carefully for it.

If you miss it must start over and restart the PC.

    Paul

  • Check the disk does not start if he had to run when you restart the computer.

I selected automatically fix system errors file and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors.
I was prompted to reschedule the disk check for the next time you restart your computer.

However, when I rebooted my computer, nothing happened. No disk check has been performed. I tried tha procedure above a couple of times without success.

Someone please help I was able to do this before, but can't do the job now?  Thank you.

    ACHOIWONG,
Well, it's system files to discover good good news.  Is probably why chkdsk does not work due to not having permission start upward.  Try to run it from an elevated command prompt:
Click Start and type cmd in the box start the search.
Right click on cmd in the list programs, and then click Run as administrator.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue
At the command prompt, type chkdsk c:/r

Try and let us know if it works.

  • Acer Aspire M5 w/Windows 8 - e recovery system disk does not start

My M5 of Acer one-year-old has failed and now I have a blue screen that says "the Boot Configuration data file is missing some required information, File: \BCD, error code: 0xc000000d.» I ordered an e recovery disk that was supposed to solve the problem. The instructions say "Insert system disk labeled disk," "restart the computer and press F12...» "When I do this, the tracks of the disk of the system for a minute or two, stops, and a minute later the laptop stops. I don't think the system disk is accessible to all. My Acer is two months out of warranty... it's so frustrating. The advice is much appreciated!

Just an update... Blayn was very helpful and directed me to the Acer support. The problem has been resolved by directing the bios to boot from the hard drive instead of the hard drive. It was a little difficult to achieve... I couldn't have done it without the excellent guidance and support from Acer. My Acer has worked very well since, and I appreciate help in this forum!

  • Satellite P300-28th does not start - windows does not load

I bought Toshiba P300 28th last week. I spent Vista business successfully in Windows XP Professional with provided Toshiba DVD. Update Windows with Windows Update. After 3 days, laptop turns off suddenly, and because Windows does not start, it in fact does not start.

When I press the power button / stop, it turns on, shows "Toshiba Leading Innovation" logo image option and "2", "press 12...", and it hangs and stops.
I tried pressing F2 and F12, nothing happened.

I can not access the boot menu.

I put the Toshiba Recovery CD, the hard drive does not work. Recovery disk does not start, despite earlier I remember put boot CD/DVD at the forefront in the Boot Options to Boot Menu.

I checked everything, power cable, took the battery in and replace after 3 hours, tried to turn on the portable power, without battery cable. Did not help.

    Your help is very appreciated.

    Hello Fiona

If you are unable to enter the BIOS (F2) at startup settings there must be some serious hardware problem.
I recommend to contact your local dealer where you bought this laptop and ask for help, or you can contact Toshiba service provider directly.
