DMA2100 and Windows 7 (cannot connect)

Hello

I am using the extender with Vista for a while, until Vista has got so confused, the Media Center stuff 'fell down', so I decided to reformat and use Windows 7 instead. Unfortunately, I had not a copy of 32-bit, so I went with 64 bit (my problem is not related to this fact, I hope!).

I went through the Setup program; stuck in the 8-digit key, and he went through all the steps except the last (the link stage) - which he remained for some time until what it has expired. I googled a bit; I tried to edit group policy to allow and there is no problem with a firewall. Even, I went to the Microsoft site and downloaded their updated 64-bit (not quite sure what it was for, but he gave a go - no change).

Hoping someone here can help me to understand, thanks!

Well, her could not solve the problem, but I worked around it by putting in place a bridged Vista virtual machine, with a symbolic link into media stocks.

Now, surprisingly, works great!

Thanks anyway.

Games for windows live cannot connect to the internet, this problem started last week when I tried to play Dawn of war 2 online. At that time I was running Vista Ultimate 64 bit and after exhausting all existing boards on this site and many others, I decided to completely format my PC and start again with Windows 7 64 bit, but I have the same problem exact. only now my profile is no longer stored on my PC because I formatted so I can still play offline.

After trying to connect, it says "the profile could not be connected to LIVE. "There may be a network problem or the Windows Live ID service may not be available" option on the GFWL client network status says:

    NIC: Local 2 network connection

I have made the following recommended to others in similar situations, has passed all the recommended ports (TCP 53,80,443,3074) and UDP 53,88,3074, installed and running Windows fix it, Microsoft.Net 4.0 update, installed and run Winsockfix, disabled windows firewall (I have not installed any other protection software yet) compatible UPnP on my router, changed my static connection type and still no progress. My router is supported and I am in a country supported direct (UK). This my independent being, but I also experience certificate errors when you use Microsoft sites, which is strange as I said that the Web site of the company that developed the program that I use is dangerous. It's my totally finished in guys any help would REALLY be apreciated. Cheers.

I can't believe ive finally resolved, hours after validation. the button on my motherboard battery had been dislodged and my date and time have been reset in 2009, whenever I stop my PC. everything is working fine now GFWL working and no more certificate errors.

  • Windows 7 cannot connect to a shared printer (error 0x0000000d code)

I try to add a laptop to my home network and can not get the printer to connect.  Everything is wireless.

The main PC uses Windows 7 Home Premium.  32-bit operating system.

The new laptop uses Windows 7 Professional.  64-bit operating system.

    The all-in-one is Kodak ESP9 + 0250.

The laptop recognises the printer on the network, but I get the error message: Windows 7 cannot connect to a shared printer (error 0x0000000d code)

Any ideas on how to make the printer connect?

The usual reason is no driver on the laptop. You should install the drivers and the software of the printer on each computer on the network. Once this is done, it will connect well. The network itself, will show the printer as a gift, just the laptop won't connect ' cuz he doesn't know how.

  • Windows 7 cannot connect to World Of Warcraft

Hi there, my friend recently bought a new laptop with Windows 7 running on this topic from Dell. The new OS is nice and smooth, but something with this set-up allow him to connect to WoW, when you sign in. He has been able to download patches and updates, but just cannot connect. When he puts in his password, he tries to connect for about one second and starts an error he is incapable. With that it is fast I think it's something to do with its firewall. After disabling the windows firewall and disable the antivirus, we still have the problem. No it's not the router because I have my laptop connected to the server just WoW beside him on the same connection exactly to the same router. I've seen others have this kind of problem, but there is never really no answer. Help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

    FreakPeach,
Welcome to the Microsoft Answers Forum.  Well I must say that I am under WoW on Windows 7 without any problem.  Since everything seems to work fine, I can only think of a few things for you to try now.

First make sure that your friend connects with his account Battle.net and not the old name of WoW.  Have him connect you on your PC just to be sure nothing upward with his log in.

Then (and I know that you said that is not the router) check the configuration of the router.  Just make sure that your PC is not in the demilitarized zone, or is it not any port forwarding setup just for your connection.  Just check the WoW server settings are global.

If the router is good then you may want to Clean Boot the PC and see if that helps.  Maybe another program is in the way.

If these things check all out them and you can't always get connected I would try the Support of WoW because they have better information on this matter.

I hope that your friend will be Arthas and running and fragging with a mohawk in a very near future grenade!  :)  Mike - Engineer Support Microsoft Answers

  • Windows 7 cannot connect to internet Bootcamp

Hi all! Now, I know that there have been many discussions going around all sorts of places on this issue, but the sad part is that I could not well answer truly adapted to my situation. So first off, I got my windows 7 with bootcamp on my macbook 13' pro a week ago and the internet worked perfectly well. But I had problems putting games on the windows section, so I removed the partition and re-bootcamped windows 7 once again. This time, my game worked perfectly, but now internet cannot connect at all. The only difference between the different times that I partitioned the laptop, this is the second time that I actually put the OS disk in because the first time I forgot. If all the drivers and others have been installed at the second time around.

When I try to connect to the internet and troubleshooting it said only that "wireless isn't a valid IP configuration" I do not completely understand. And the funny thing is that I have about 3 other computers using the same router everything on windows 7 with absolutely no problem. I tried rebooting the machine and the router, enter the network name and password manually, refresh and reversing the network card and a few other unnecessary things. However, I don't have a Hello on my computer and I don't know if I really needed, because it seems like that was a problem.

Sorry for the words really not technical, but I am not that computer savvy, especially with regard to such things. I'd appreciate any help, thank you in advance!

You have installed the Windows drivers instead of Apple's Boot Camp drivers. Start with step 18:

  • Re: Windows 10 cannot connect hp pass using simple

I have the same problem with my dv6 envy after update to windows 10 windows 8.1.  Where can I check updates?

After 3 unsuccessful attempts to install current SimplePass software, I was able to install it.  But still it only allows me to use a PIN or a password on the new version more. SO here's my solution:

I went to my control panel (not the windows settings)

Control Panel > programs > HP SimplePass

Under the SimplePass icon should be a link that says register fingerprints.  Click on this button and it opens SimplePass and this time takes you to a page to register your fingerprints.  I deleted my old footprints in SimplePass and new registrants.

Now if you go into the settings app > account > sign in options, there will be an option to connect using Windows Hello from fingerprints. You can add fingerprints there too if you wish.

Restarted my computer and I managed to connect using my the finger print scanner.

  • WAG-120N and static ip - wireless and wired clients cannot connect to the internet

    Greetings,

I use the N WAG-120 AP and switch for 3 computers laptops and 2 Office. Our Department is assigned only a what IP static of our server, as well as a pc can connect to the server and the internet. I use the first lan port of the 120N Wag as a WAN port and I attribute the static IP address, and the subnet, default gateway, and DNS addresses. Connected clients receive an ip address from the DHCP (192.168.1.10x) router, but cannot connect to the internet. How can I configure my router to allow clients to connect?

    Thank you in advance!

The default LAN IP of the WAG subnet is 192.168.1.0/255.255.255.0 belongs to 192.168.0.0/255.255.0.0. This means that 192.168.1.0 IP addresses exist side WAN and LAN of the WAG. What makes this configuration completely cannot be routed.

Change the address LAN IP of the WAG to an IP outside the corporate network, for example using IP addresses private 172.16/12, for example to set the address LAN IP 172.16.1.1 with 255.255.255.0 subnet mask.

The alternative would be to use the WAG as a point of easy access only, and not as a router. However, due to the 255.255.0.0 subnet in your network company you will not be able to access the web interface except from an IP address corresponding to the LAN IP address subnet of the WAG. Of course, this does not affect the wireless or wireline customers connected to the WAG...

  • Windows Update not working do not Error Message and Windows Defender cannot update Error Message definitions

I have a laptop Dell 1501 with Vista Home Basic 32-bit.

I ran CA 2010 Security Suite and you have scanned for Malware with regard to the Windows Update Error Message. He found none. I ran Microsoft Malware malicious tool, and it found. I ran Windows Defender and he found. I don't have CA and Windows Firewall to protect my computer and I have disabled both in trying to solve this problem of Windows Update and Windows Defender.

I got this error 4 days ago. Here is what I tried:

-I went on various Web sites, including Microsoft Support - and tried to solve the problem through services.msc and msconfig.exe. None worked.

-J' noticed in msconfig. where it says start waiting next to Windows Update. There are 3-4 elements, which are affiliated to Windows Update and made sure they did not exist in the registry.

-J' have to ensure that they were supposed to be automatic or manual under services.msc.

-J' rebooted several times and nothing changes.

Windows Defender does not update the definitions, and I do not know if this coincides with the release of Windows does not.

I am at my wit's end and do not want to crash and burn my computer.

I need serious help. Please, I beg you!

    Thank you.

I had to call Microsoft. Alex tried to add registry keys and input upgrade.

My Windows Update has almost been altered. It could be my mistake or it has become corrupted when running other services at the same time.

I was sent a Windows 7 Home Premium Disc to upgrade and start over, as my Vista disk was corrupted as well.

I would not recommend trying one of the suggestions listed on other sites. It's my personal opinion because I have in the past and it worsened my problem.

I also wouldn't delete all programs (unless absolutely necessary) because I remove 4 MSMXL and he made their work more difficult.

Despite what you may have read, Microsoft Technical Support technicians are very efficient and kind.

We inform you to open a slot during your day or even open your day for the problem to be solved.

  • Win XP and Win 7 cannot connect - Microsoft tracing statements

I have a network with four computers, two running Win 7 and two running Win XP. Two Win 7 machines can see and share files, and two XP machines can see and share files. But the XP and 7 machines do not see each other. I followed the tutorials Microsoft and read all the posts and all the tech articles I can find, but nothing helped.

    • All the machines are on the same workgroup
    • If I turn off the firewall, the problem persists
    • I have the same user accounts and passwords on all machines
    • All computers all computers very well, I can PING

    On Win7 machines:

    • Discovery Network is running
    • Network location is Home Network
    • The Link-Layer Topology Discovery Mapper i/o Driver and Link-Layer Topology Discovery responder are both enabled
    • Protected by password sharing is disabled
    • File sharing and printer is enabled
    • Public folder sharing is turned on
    • Is not part of a homegroup

    On Win XP machines:

    • File sharing and printer is enabled
    • The same group work like machines Win 7
    • Run the Network Setup Wizard and follow the instructions in Microsoft

Any help is appreciated. It cost me a lot of hours so far.

    Thank you.

I hope that you don't mind chiseling.  Like you, I also spent a lot of time at the stage of the RIP-my-hair-out during a sort on my network.

While my a Win7 & a WinXP without router network is much simpler than the one you are working on, maybe check the measurements I took & settings I've done may highlight gaps in your configuration.

A procedure step by step for the creation of an Ethernet cable to both computers between Windows 7 and Windows XP with ICS

Like you, I had to trawl through a large amount of material to gather the instructions for setting this up.  Not all of this seemed to be in line or even logical.

I used these instructions three times when setting up my network, and it has worked every time [when in the development of the procedure, once for real & and then to help me make sure that I had written the instructions properly - I have a surprisingly naïve faith in the ability of my system, images to get back to square one after these experiences].  At least another user of the forum has also reported success with the procedure.  My Network continued to work properly without any extra setting since the beginning of last year.

I understand that you also the router to consider, but I think that will affect only the required IS & DNS parameters.  I think that the rest of the procedure will be on your network type as well.

If the procedure help you, maybe you could then consider publishing your final version somewhere in this forum to help other users.  You can cut & paste my version as much as you want.  Please keep the acknowledgement of receipt of the opinion of Steve Winograd as it has filled in the gaps that were not resolved anywhere else.

    Good luck

  • Computer laptop Windows Vista cannot connect to shares on my Windows 7 desktop. It requires a username and password, but it does not work.

original title: Vista to Win 7 networking issue.

I have a Vista laptop that I am trying to use with a desktop running Windows 7.  I try to use the file and printer sharing.  I have no problem with internet connections through my U-Verse gateway.  I am also capable of sharing files from the Windows 7 Desktop, but when I try to access the Windows 7 laptop computer it askes for a user name and password.  I passed to the page Advanced Networking two computers and confirmed that the network discovery, file sharing, public folder sharing, and printer sharing are all 'ON '.  Protected by password sharing is 'OFF '.

The problem seems to come and go.  Sometimes I can get it to work, was not.  Sometimes, it works once but not a few hours later even though computers have not changed or been restarted.

A note more than I also use an XP laptop on the same network, and it connects more reliably.

Any help is appreciated!  It drives me crazy.

  • Fax and Scan in Windows 7 - cannot connect to a fax modem

Fax and scan worked under Vista. Shows Device Manager this modem (Dell Conexant D850 56 K V.92 DFVc) doesn't work and it has the most current driver. I can successfully query the modem via the Diagnostics tab but when I try to set up a fax account, I get a message: "year error occurred." Please try the operation again later or contact your administrator. "Any ideas on how to make this work?

    Thank you!

    Cindy

    Hi Cindy,.

As someone suggested on your Dell forums thread, your system is not compatible with Windows 7 and Dell did not provide any Windows 7 drivers for your specific model. If you want these drivers created, you must contact Dell directly.

The most I can recommend download the Windows Vista driver for the modem and install it in the mode of compatibility and explained below:
HOW to: Install a hardware device using the Compatibility Mode driver

If this does not resolve the problem, you need to go back to Windows Vista or buy a Windows 7 compatible modem. If you want to ensure that a specific modem is compatible Windows 7, I recommend using the Windows 7 compatibility list.
