Windows 7 cannot connect to XP/2003server file sharing...

Windows 7 can not connect to the file sharing XP/2003server... I can remote the 2 OS, but I can't get into the share folder in both PC. as usual, if I want to access the shared folder on another computer, I can easily enter / / (IP address), but in windows 7, after I entered this command and I get the user name and the password (to connect to the file share folder), but after that show "wrong username and password. I don't think, because I can connect windows 7 to remotely 2 OS (with the same user name and password to enter the folder of file sharing), but I can not enter the share folder of file with the same user name and password. What is going on...
help please...

  • Games for windows live cannot connect

Games for windows live cannot connect to the internet, this problem started last week when I tried to play Dawn of war 2 online. At that time I was running Vista Ultimate 64 bit and after exhausting all existing boards on this site and many others, I decided to completely format my PC and start again with Windows 7 64 bit, but I have the same problem exact. only now my profile is no longer stored on my PC because I formatted so I can still play offline.

After trying to connect, it says "the profile could not be connected to LIVE. "There may be a network problem or the Windows Live ID service may not be available" option on the GFWL client network status says:

    NIC: Local 2 network connection

    Internet IP address: not connected

    System link address: 192.168.2.9:3074

    UPnP: Not signed in

    PC ID: 0X10DF99910D0A00E8

I have made the following recommended to others in similar situations, has passed all the recommended ports (TCP 53,80,443,3074) and UDP 53,88,3074, installed and running Windows fix it, Microsoft.Net 4.0 update, installed and run Winsockfix, disabled windows firewall (I have not installed any other protection software yet) compatible UPnP on my router, changed my static connection type and still no progress. My router is supported and I am in a country supported direct (UK). This my independent being, but I also experience certificate errors when you use Microsoft sites, which is strange as I said that the Web site of the company that developed the program that I use is dangerous. It's my totally finished in guys any help would REALLY be apreciated. Cheers.

I can't believe ive finally resolved, hours after validation. the button on my motherboard battery had been dislodged and my date and time have been reset in 2009, whenever I stop my PC. everything is working fine now GFWL working and no more certificate errors.

  • Windows 7 cannot connect to a shared printer (error 0x0000000d code)

I try to add a laptop to my home network and can not get the printer to connect.  Everything is wireless.

The main PC uses Windows 7 Home Premium.  32-bit operating system.

The new laptop uses Windows 7 Professional.  64-bit operating system.

    The all-in-one is Kodak ESP9 + 0250.

The laptop recognises the printer on the network, but I get the error message: Windows 7 cannot connect to a shared printer (error 0x0000000d code)

Any ideas on how to make the printer connect?

The usual reason is no driver on the laptop. You should install the drivers and the software of the printer on each computer on the network. Once this is done, it will connect well. The network itself, will show the printer as a gift, just the laptop won't connect ' cuz he doesn't know how.

  • Windows 7 cannot connect to World Of Warcraft

Hi there, my friend recently bought a new laptop with Windows 7 running on this topic from Dell. The new OS is nice and smooth, but something with this set-up allow him to connect to WoW, when you sign in. He has been able to download patches and updates, but just cannot connect. When he puts in his password, he tries to connect for about one second and starts an error he is incapable. With that it is fast I think it's something to do with its firewall. After disabling the windows firewall and disable the antivirus, we still have the problem. No it's not the router because I have my laptop connected to the server just WoW beside him on the same connection exactly to the same router. I've seen others have this kind of problem, but there is never really no answer. Help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

    FreakPeach,
Welcome to the Microsoft Answers Forum.  Well I must say that I am under WoW on Windows 7 without any problem.  Since everything seems to work fine, I can only think of a few things for you to try now.

First make sure that your friend connects with his account Battle.net and not the old name of WoW.  Have him connect you on your PC just to be sure nothing upward with his log in.

Then (and I know that you said that is not the router) check the configuration of the router.  Just make sure that your PC is not in the demilitarized zone, or is it not any port forwarding setup just for your connection.  Just check the WoW server settings are global.

If the router is good then you may want to Clean Boot the PC and see if that helps.  Maybe another program is in the way.

If these things check all out them and you can't always get connected I would try the Support of WoW because they have better information on this matter.

I hope that your friend will be Arthas and running and fragging with a mohawk in a very near future grenade!  :)  Mike - Engineer Support Microsoft Answers

  • Computer laptop Windows Vista cannot connect to shares on my Windows 7 desktop. It requires a username and password, but it does not work.

original title: Vista to Win 7 networking issue.

I have a Vista laptop that I am trying to use with a desktop running Windows 7.  I try to use the file and printer sharing.  I have no problem with internet connections through my U-Verse gateway.  I am also capable of sharing files from the Windows 7 Desktop, but when I try to access the Windows 7 laptop computer it askes for a user name and password.  I passed to the page Advanced Networking two computers and confirmed that the network discovery, file sharing, public folder sharing, and printer sharing are all 'ON '.  Protected by password sharing is 'OFF '.

The problem seems to come and go.  Sometimes I can get it to work, was not.  Sometimes, it works once but not a few hours later even though computers have not changed or been restarted.

A note more than I also use an XP laptop on the same network, and it connects more reliably.

Any help is appreciated!  It drives me crazy.

    Charlie

When I just opened the page to display the status of 'group', the system started working.  I have not made no other changes but Vista laptop now recognizes the Office!

  • SVR error 2017. Windows XP cannot connect to shares on Windows 7.

XP workstations after a period of time no longer able to connect to the Windows 7 shares until you restart the Win 7 machine.
Duration of 12 to 24 hours before the problem of the arises.
Workstations only Windows XP are affected. Networking or authorization errors are displayed on the Win XP machines because they are unable to refer to actions on Windows 7 PCs. However, we can always ping the Win7 PC's IP and connect to MySQL running on the Win7 PC.
We run a PC 64 bit of Windows 7 as a server to share files with 4 GB of memory. Network has 4 Windows 7 workstations and 3 Windows XP ones.
3 files out of the root on the PC Windows 7 directory reported by right-clicking on the folder, select share, then some people.
Then put "everyone' has read/write access. So safety is set to full control for everyone on the shared folders.
When a Windows XP system fails to connect to a share, Windows XP systems follow suit. Windows 7 workstations are not affected.
Found errors on Windows 7 (file server) logs that occur at the same time as the problem and is repeated several times:

    Source: srv
    Event ID: 2017
    Task category: no
    Level: error
    Keywords: Classic
    User: n/a
    Computer: SERVER01
Description: The server could not allocate from the system non-paged pool because the server reached limit configured for the non paged pool allocations.

I found a few references that relate to this error for Vista 64 bit, which suggests to disable SMB2 in registry and/or change of registry MaxNonPagedMemoryUsagein from 1 to 3.

I hope to find something more definitive.

After reading a few posts, I made the following adjustments to my PC Windows 7 (file sharing server).

    Changed: HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management\LargeSystemCache - it set to 1 (to 0)

    Changed: HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanServer\Parameters\Size - to put to 3 (1)

    Added: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanServer\Parameters\MaxNonpagedMemoryUsage - the value 0xFFFFFFFF

    Also changed:
System setting advanced--> Adnavnced--> performance (settings)--> Advanced - option Set "background Services".

I'm this surveillance system and display the results after a few (working) days.

  • Windows 7 cannot connect to internet Bootcamp

Hi all! Now, I know that there have been many discussions going around all sorts of places on this issue, but the sad part is that I could not well answer truly adapted to my situation. So first off, I got my windows 7 with bootcamp on my macbook 13' pro a week ago and the internet worked perfectly well. But I had problems putting games on the windows section, so I removed the partition and re-bootcamped windows 7 once again. This time, my game worked perfectly, but now internet cannot connect at all. The only difference between the different times that I partitioned the laptop, this is the second time that I actually put the OS disk in because the first time I forgot. If all the drivers and others have been installed at the second time around.

When I try to connect to the internet and troubleshooting it said only that "wireless isn't a valid IP configuration" I do not completely understand. And the funny thing is that I have about 3 other computers using the same router everything on windows 7 with absolutely no problem. I tried rebooting the machine and the router, enter the network name and password manually, refresh and reversing the network card and a few other unnecessary things. However, I don't have a Hello on my computer and I don't know if I really needed, because it seems like that was a problem.

Sorry for the words really not technical, but I am not that computer savvy, especially with regard to such things. I'd appreciate any help, thank you in advance!

You have installed the Windows drivers instead of Apple's Boot Camp drivers. Start with step 18:

  • Slow connection to SMB/AFP file sharing

    Configuration:

    OSX 10.11.3 (15 D 21)

    Server V5.0.4

Running services: calendar, file sharing, Manager profiles, Time Machine, VPN, Web, Wiki, DNS, FTP sites, open the directory

We have a problem which has lasted for several months where clients that attempt to connect to file sharing (AFP or SMB makes no difference) takes too long to authenticate. He constantly takes ~ 40-45 seconds to open a session or even reject a bad password. The really strange part is that it affects all computers on our network with the exception of a Mac Mini. Seems not be customer specific, i.e. all users connect without delay on a Mac Mini and slowly on other computers. I was not able to determine differences in settings of network connection or on different computers, but I don't know there are parameters, I'm not aware of that.

Did someone met with something like that?

    Thanks in advance.

The faster connection Mac Mini there the active local folders?  Or using a faster SMB protocol?

  • Windows XP cannot connect to DSL Wireless Modem - locked mode "Acquiring Network Address", never connects. Broadcom wireless card

I have a HP ZV5000 laptop, who has recently suffered a hard drive crash. I replaced the drive reinstalled the operating system and it is running Windows XP Home Professional with Service Pack 3 installed.

When you attempt to connect to a wireless network, it finds all those that are generally available, but won't connect.

The properties indicates that the laptop uses "Broadcom 802. "11b / g WLAN. (Broadcom website isn't much help. The site seems to be mostly press releases).

I am told that it worked (I can't confirm this, as the player crashed when I got it).

Any suggestions? If there is any other information necessary to solve this, please let me know and I'll be more than happy to provide.

    Thanks in advance!

    How do you reinstall Windows?

If you use a Microsoft Windows XP installation CD, you must install all of the drivers as well.  If you have reinstalled using any method HP supplies to 'restore factory State' you will have already installed the drivers.

If you can get to the Internet by connecting to the laptop using an Ethernet cable, you can go HERE and click the button "Scan Now" to make sure that you have all the correct drivers.

However, because you can see the available wireless networks, it seems that you have at least a certain driver installed for your wireless network card.

The usual reason that a wireless adapter cannot acquire a network address is the router's security settings are not allowing the connection.

The best way to deal with misconfigured security settings is to remove the 'profile' currently registered and try to connect again.

Open network connections (start > run > ncpa.cpl > OK)
Right-click on the icon for your wireless adapter and select Properties
Click the Wireless Networks (see screenshot)
If the "Use Windows to configure my wireless network" box is NOT checked, you use a third-party utility to configure the adapter and need to read its User Guide to determine how to remove the 'profile' to connect to your router.
Assuming that the box is checked, find SSID (network name) router in the list of "Preferred networks" and click 'delete '.
    OK your way out
Find your network in the list of available networks, and then click 'connect '. Make sure you enter the password correctly.

If this does not work, the next step would be to connect to the router by an Ethernet cable, temporarily remove all security settings that are configured on the router, remove the "My network places" configuration as above and try to connect again.

If you need help to get to and the configuration of the router, please provide the make, model and hardware version, as appropriate (check the label).

  • Windows 8 cannot connect to the external hard drive after you have added the drive case.

Original title: I have my hard drive from my previous PC attached to my new PC with windows 8. My old PC had XP. How to access the external hard drive?

I had problems with my XP operating system and could not transfer all the files to my new PC. I spoke with Dell who I believe created the problem with software support. I was told to get out the hard drive, buy a hard drive enclosure and get my files from there. I can't find the hard drive.

    Hello

    Thank you for the update.

Given that the problem occurs when the hard drive is connected to a different USB port or another computer, it is probably related to the connection of the hard disk.

Method 1: check if the problem occurs in another computer after removing the hard disk enclosure.

    Method 2:

Step 1: Check if the hard drive is detected in Windows Explorer.

To do this, follow these steps:

    a. connect the hard disk of the computer.

    b. press the Windows key + E to open Windows Explorer.

    c. check if the hard drive is present here.

Step 2: Check if the hard drive is detected in disk management.

To do this, follow these steps:

    a. on the desktop, press the Windows key + X , and then select disk management.

    b. check if the hard drive is listed there.

Contact the manufacturer of the hard drive and hard drive enclosure for assistance.
