DMM Hostname\IP change

Good afternoon

I have problems with our server of digital media (5.3.6). Recently, we have moved the server to our data center shared and necessary to change the host name and IP address.

Once I changed the host name and IP I refreshed the certificate self-signed and changed the DNS entry on our global catalog DNS.

I can get to the login screen, but after the connection, she tries to redirect the old DNS server entry.

Thoughts?

Hello

My suggestion would be if you don't have it already is changing the name of the Servlet server host/IP this should hopefully solve your problem, this can be found in the Module signal digital itself and under the setting tab then the server settings, this setting is not obvious or well documented but won me over the years , questions can sometimes hang on your and you must reroute the DMM back to the old address/hostname change cela a setting specific, easier for you to do with a patch back to back the cable to your laptop for this! Let me know if it works!

See you soon

  • "Home CPU/memory/connection" (host) changes from green to gray, then gray to green?

    Hey everybody,

I'm trying to track down a problem with one of my two hosts. My Cluster (2 guests in HA/vMotion) is pretty basic, but runs a lot of VM that requires an availability of 100% (as if we want to accept less ). This is the result I get every two weeks. It's a bit concerning to know that for some reason a node is abandoned, or is it same stall? I see no vMotion alerts or the tasks in that time. Nothing seems to break. Uptime on each virtual computer and the node in question leads me to believe that nothing is really wrong, but it can be worse than what I think. I mean he's only 17 seconds... how bad could it be, right?

I'm assuming "Host memory usage", "host CPU usage", 'Swap host service rate console', etc. go from green to gray, then gray green means that it is not a resource problem, just an indicator that it is "grayed out" because there no report or an interruption of the connection.

I guess I am wondering if it is network related, associated hardware partner, vsphere host or something I can't even think. The host disconnects for 7 seconds and no quick vMotioning can't. I think 30 seconds is the rule in front of him vMotions? I mean, I had rather not vMotion, if I can avoid it.

Whatever it is, what do you think?

My memory, I cannot keep records for a long time. Last year, I think that I have seen this problem and it was a bug. There is also a patch for it. It was a BUG where the way every now and then, the confidence in me it was no problem at all in the perspective of the environment.

I don't remember the article or the revision of patch has this connection, but you may need to check the kb.vmware.com to see if you can find.

  • DIO - single vs writing Port (U8)

    I have a weird situation:

    I use a card digital I/o NI 6509, with 4 digital outputs x connected to P2.3 via P2.6.

    1. set up a task to write these lines using a global virtual channels group - quite to the MAX.

    2. I used this previous task/configuration with success.

    3. yesterday it stopped working.

    4. now the old task does not work.

    5. I reset the device (and PC) repeatedly

    6. I created a 'NEW' task that writes to the port at the same time (i.e. U8) and I can measure the fine (using DMM) output voltage change when I run this VI.

    7. If I know that the output digital work... but when I try again the old task, it still does not work.

Can someone please tell me a reason why this behavior may occur. I know that some products DIO can be read/write only the port.

I'm suspicious that the unit (our product) the DIO card is connected to the could have been accidentally connected so that there are two output attached to the line even competing signals/pins.

This sounds like a hardware failure?

    Any suggestions appreciated muchly.

    Thank you!

Don't bother, I found the fault - the external material had been changed without knowing me.

  • Substitution of the class, how to create the child class and then the base class

I started to write a program for a DMM smart, that the problem is all versions of DMM greet the change company communication.

My idea is to write a child class for each version, DMM and each Subvi child will replace the Subvi base class.

My problem is, I first want to create a child class and after I see everything is working, start creating the base class. in this way, I'll see if think the right way.

    My question is

How can I create a child class and then create the base class and configure the Subvi class of the child to be the substitution of the base class?

I tried searching in the property of the class, but I don't see anything.

    Thank you

This can be done and I did on occasion.

You create the base class with the methods of dynamic distribution, you need (Connector components must be identical to those of the class of the child).

Set then the legacy of the class inherits this base class. If your method is defined as a dynamic distribution method in the parent, you will probably now have some errors (unless your method of child was already DD, in which case you might be OK already).

To change the inheritance of a class, right-click on the properties of the class in your project, and then select Properties. According to me, the tree of estate is at the lower end of the property. Click on the 'legacy of change' (or something similar) to choose the class from which you now want to inherit.

This is usually caused by a wrong setting of the property the/atg/devtools/UpdateAgent component of core adminPort.

This property must be set to the HTTP port number for the Administration of the Dynamo server.

  • Regeneration of vCenter device certificate does not

I'll put up a new vCenter Server Appliance and for some reason that the function of regeneration of certificate is not up-to-date certificate with the new host name and of the period of INVESTIGATION.

I toggle regeneration of certificate of 'Yes' to reboot the device, I can see during startup until a line specifies that 'hostname has changed... regenerating SSL certificate', no errors I see appear.

However, after that, I connect to the web console to https://x.x.x.x:5480 and verify the certificate and there always localhost.localdom the original DHCP assigned IP so the cert address has not changed!

How can I get a new cert to regenerate?

    Thank you

OK, so I just found this discussion here: http://communities.vmware.com/thread/447770 about 5.1 update 1 has suspended to regenerate the certificate after the reboot. The user could get past the issue of hanging of manually generating the certificate from the command line.

While I wasn't the problem with the suspension he had, I was able to follow the procedure for manually generating certificates. It worked great and my cert now matches the host name.

Not sure what is causing my problem, but this seems to have done the trick.

  • S & S change of hostname

    Hello

We have changed the name of our server S & S before and I need to change it again, but when I do I can sign is no longer in S & S, DMM looks very good.

    The process, I'm following is

Connection to IAA S & S update the host name

    Re-pair S & S with DMM

    Disconnection of the S & IAA S

    Connection to the IAA DMM

    Re-pair DMM with S & S

When I try to connect to S & S I get the below error on the first attempt, enter the credentials again and it takes me to the DMM admin interface, if I click on "manage show them and share ' I get the error in the picture again, I have to follow a different process? boxes are running 5.3.12 and entrances DNS are fine look and resolve well front and reverse.

Only way I can fix it is to go back to the hostname before I changed it.

    Thank you

    Hi Darren,

You can check that after change the SNS and the DMM are still on the same domain/subdomain as described under the following link:

  • change hostname

    Hi all

what I have to change in the ICollection, if I want to change the host name of the server bigbrother?

    Best regards, Alfons

Make sure that the hostname returned by the command "hostname" is identical to the etc/bb-hosts (without typos :-), it happens sometimes)

you want to change the IP address and the hostname in the BB, because you have changed the real name of the server and IP or you just want to use a name other than the actual server name?

You can also try to address 127.0.0.1 IP see if it works.

    Good bye

  • DMM worm 5.2.3 changing root PW

    Colleagues of Cisco,

    QUESTION:

What are the potential impacts of the change to the superuser password?

    ENVIRONMENT:

I have about 40 DMP on a very large company (several locations, Windows Active Directory, LAN, DMM & DMX), with the installation of pretty basic / default for most (schedules and users having control over their own content).

    WHY:

My predecessor has left my organization and I am new this particular system, but this change is part of the policy here.

    LINKS:

All hyperlinks to useful resources are greatly appreciated (although, please note that I already have the official Cisco docs, for example install/admin Guide).

    Thank you

    Paul

    REFERENCE:

There is an excellent explanation of the procedure here:

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/video/digital_media_systems/5_x/5_3/DMS/AAI/Administration/Guide/pwadmin.html#wp1079563

    .

There is no impact. The root password is used only to connect to the graphical interface of the DMM. Now, if you were to change the password of the DMP in the DMM, then you must change it for your DMP or they would be disconnected from the DMM. But the super user and the DMP passwords are two different things.

  • SSH still work after the change hostname?

    Hi all

I was under the impression (from past experiences) that SSH self-signed certificates are made up of the host name and the domain name of the router.

I worked on a network of customers and I can see that the RSA SSH certificate uses the old hostname of the device + name field but SSH works always inbound and outbound on the VTY lines!

I thought you were to related keys and recreate it using the encryption key generate rsa command to continue using SSH after a host name changed so that the new certificate contains the new host name?

Any explanation would be greately appreciated

    Thank you very much

    David

    Hi David.

Yes after having modified the router setting hostname, SSH domain name will still work with the old certificate.

What I can suggest is you to recreate through cryptographic key generate rsa command in configuration mode.

  • DPM appearing is not on DMM after changing the default password (5.2)

I had to reset my DMP 4305 G to the default settings after the DMP redeployment to a new location.

I have a static IP assigned to the DPM, but he wouldn't let me not get pass the login screen without changing the password.

Once I changed the password, the DMP is no longer present on the DMM as connected, and I can't push orders to him.

    Hello

    Try this:

Go to digital signs, settings, server settings and change the user name and password to match the new.

Note that this will effect DMP all so be sure that you have the same login on all DMP information.

  • Change of hostname in CTS - MAN

Our CTS - MAN server software has been loaded, but we do not yet have it configured for use. Is there a way to change the HOST name? I tried the CLI command SET NETWORK HOSTNAME that seems to work and causes a reboot, but after he comes back to top the web interface is inaccessible (using the IP address as before). I have to use the CLI command to change the HOST name to the original before I can access it via the web interface again. We have the version 1.5.0.0 - 384 ongoing enforcement.

Not supported, we need to reinstall

  • How to change EM12c SGD hostname post install without aliases.

Someone at - it measures to change the hostname post install WHO? My problem is that I have installed EM with the virtual host name that I intended to use as my PES hostname. So when I go to cut course using PES, then install the first SGD will break and be inaccessible to another WHO. Was able to get the first SGD working by putting an alias to hostname in/etc/hosts of the first OMS, but when I go to install the second SGD, of course, he says that he cannot reach the first SGD server using the SLB url. My bad, did this way of thinking that would save me having to re - establish hundreds of agents, which he did, but can't raise the second SGD. I think out of this I can choose a new hostname PES or just to change the host name of the installed WHO that I prefer to do about 50 dba has a link to this url to console 'EM. Thanks in advance for sharing your steps if possible!

    Kind regards

    Robert Matheny

Unfortunately, the only way I know to solve this problem is to perform a restore of the WHO using the different host. basic steps to below, I have the doc that I have set up for a client a few years ago will try to turn into a blog and post here...

    Basic concept:

Don't forget to complete your backups first...

    http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E24628_01/install.121/e24089/ha_backup_recover.htm#CHDCEAJC

Then follow the steps for the restoration of the WHO. You don't have to physically restore the SW, but you will need to remove the gc_inst and agent_inst respectively (move _OLD or something) they'll get re-created using the new hostname info in files, have to also remove the agent from the rest.

19.6.4.2 unique WHO, no PES, WHO, restored on a different host

You can't at the moment from the GUI, until now the REST API calls. vExpert: Tomas Fojtahas this blog about using PowerCLI:

From the Web of GUI client:

    1 / go to Networking & Security

2 / NSX edges, then select the edge in question

3 / on stocks on the block, select 'change CLI Credentials. "

4 / there you can enable SSH

Check: If SSH is already on the 'case' is already selected. Also you should be able to SSH into the edge now.

  • Change vCloud Director cell Hostname

I've deployed the unit of 5.5 vCloud Director and the default values of the hostname to localhost.localdom. I tried to change this to console (Option 3) as well as the webpage (https://hostname:5480). Every time after I reboot, it is up to the localhost.localdom.

No idea how I can keep this standing?

    Thank you

    Scott

Go to/opt/vmware/share/vami/vami_set_hostname in the cell of vCD

And change the line that says:

HOSTNAME = "localhost.localdom" to your desired host name. Save and exit.

    Restart the unit once.
