Dolby Digital Audio output via HDMI on Satellite A200 cable?

I don't see how to get a Dolby Digital signal on my laptop!

I have a screen LCD HD 1080 p television. With the help of a cable HDMI from laptop to TV gives a beautiful image. I then use an optical link between TV and Surround amplifier... However the amp does not recognize the signal as a Dolby Digital signal.

The record is not clear on issues of Audio. The Toshiba HD-DVD player shows Dolby Digital option and I guess that's out put down the HDMI cable? I hear through the TV speakers.

Hints would be much appreciated.

Paul

Hello

To be honest I didn t know that there is Satellite A200 laptops with HDMI output. Can you please tell me what A200 you have (A200-xxx)? Are you really sure have an A200?

Back to your problem: as far as I know the Digital Dolby audio can be sent if the laptop has S/PDIF port. You must also use an optical cable and connect laptop to your amp directly.

What you do now is send the signal to the TV only. I don't really know if you can browse the Dolby signal to the amp.

  • Sound is more output via HDMI

    Hello

I have a desktop HP m9300t with Vista 64 Bit SP2. It has a video card Nvidia GeForce 9300 256 MB with a HDMI output (and DVI).

I've always been able to play the video and sound through an HDMI cable connected to my TV. A few weeks ago, I ran a few updates and uninstall several programs I do not use or need. I installed the Vista SP2 and updated my nvidia driver for the last available on the nvidia website. Now, I can only video output via HDMI, but no sound.

I have the Realtek HDMI output defined as the default device under sound-> read (and it shows like 'work'). When I test it, I can see the volume up and down bar, but there is no sound on my TV. I also tried many different programs (WMP, Winamp, Media Player classic, Firefox, but still no sound.)

Sound works fine in my computer speakers when I put as device by default.

I tried two different HDMI cables, which I know work because they took out his other devices.

I've updated my audio driver for the last available.

I installed an older video driver without success.

I scoured the internet for hours, but nothing I can find solves my problem.

    Hello

Check the device settings in device that receives the stream of video and audio HDMI.

What camera brand and model has no sound via HDMI?

What is plugged into the SPDIF Jack on the back of your PC, no matter what?

Go to www.realtek.com and download and install the latest audio driver.

Go to www.nvidia.com and download and install the latest video driver.

You could also try to uncheck HDMI and check digtial output and see if that produces sounds.

These "how-to" HP articles can also provide assistance.

Even the latest drivers and updates may cause the problem.  I have run into a problem of sound with Realtek and had to fall back to the original audio driver supplied with the PC to get his job.  Five months later, Realtek audio driver problem fixed.  You need to maybe do this or maybe go back to the last good Windows restore point known. Of course if it does not then you would have to depend on your image less hard drive backup.

It is also possible that your HDMI audio circuits are bad.

  • No Sound / Audio via HDMI with Satellite P840T

    Hi Forumites,

I connected my Satellite P840T on my TV via HDMI Panasoni. Video works fine but no sound. The same cable and TV work fine with my laptop Del.

I have read the forums, and we're talking about going into control panel > Sound > reading tab and selecting device HD Audio for playback, but on my P840T, IT IS No. HD Audio device for the indicated reading.

I right click and checked the boxes to see the disabled and features show disconnected, but still nothing.
I have download the latest drivers for the OEM Toshiba Intel HD4000 version show that the P840T seems to have, but still nothing. (The Audio drivers for the HDMI port part of the display driver right?)

What else can I try other than to wait for the next version of the OEM Toshiba display Intel HD4000 version?

    Thanks in advance
    Mark

    > I have read the forums, and we're talking about going into control panel > Sound > reading tab and selecting device HD Audio for playback, but on my P840T, IT IS No. HD Audio device for the indicated reading.

.. and what audio playback devices are available next to the speakers?
In my case it is not peripheral HD audio but the Digital Audio sound called.

By the way: what system are you using? Have you installed the new Windows or do you use the preinstalled Toshiba system?

  • best way to digital audio output on 6400?

    Hello

I have a 5.1 system surround that accepts audio digital via the coaxial and optical inputs. I would like to connect my laptop through one of these contributions.

When you play a dvd (or downloaded content) with audio digital (IE dolby digital) in my computer (6400), I can only analog audio output through the headphone jack for the moment.

I read some info with what concerns the spdif adapter or sound card.

can someone confirm that the spdif adapter works for 6400 and where I can get this? I live in England.

is his best card and sends audio digital of the surround system without changing it?

should what sound card I use?

    Thanks for any info

  • No Digital Audio output when Internet Streaming on STR-DA5700ES

I have a STR-DA5700ES I bought precisely because it has a digital Toslink out.  I used to use this connection on old receivers to connect to my Sony MDR-DS6500 7.1 headphones.  The headset unit accepts a digital Toslink connection to listen to the audio Dolby Digital.

I can listen to Dolby Digital happy when I watch TV, because it generates the audio of the Toslink out and my helmet.  However, when streaming a movie Internet through the STR-DA5700ES with audio 5.1, it comes out not audio for the Toslink on.

    Am I missing something here?

    Hello

Unfortunately the receiver works as expected and will not digital audio (HDMI or optical) from all the internal dissemination services. The receiver expects that you will use it connected speakers to listen to surround audio, or the taking of headset available on the front. There is not a firmware update available or planned that the receiver has been designed to work this way and can be changed by modifying the software.  Keep in mind that it is impossible to get 5.1 surround sound 2 headphones to listen to the speakers, the surround effect is 'Virtual' or 'simulated '.  As a work around you can use a media player that allows an external output optical to your TV if it offers streaming services, or head Jack on the front of the receiver that was planned for this exact purpose. I'm sorry for the inconvenience that this has done and have relayed concerns to the right team

  • Change the audio output to hdmi

I have an hdmi cable connected between my HDTV and my dell xps m1330, I can get the video to transfer very well but can't do the sound of the game through television. I looked on the internet for how do to it and theres a lot of instructions for vista / w7, but I can not understand how to change the HDMI audio output in windows xp.

    Hi ccmcmill12,

Follow the below mentioned steps and check the results:

    a. click on the button 'start '.

    b. click on 'control panel '.

    c. with the control to the "Control Panel Home" Panel, click on 'hardware and sound '.

    d. where it says 'Sound' in green letters, there are three options below that are in blue, click on "manage Audio devices.

    e. This will bring up a window titled "Sound".

    f. on the tab 'Read', he has listed the sound options at your disposal. It should read "peripheral digital output (HDMI)" click on it.

    g. There should now be a checkmark on this option.

    h. the sound should play through your HDMI connections to the TV.

  • SX10 Audio output via external active speakers, VGA mini-jack 3.5 mm

    Hello

We have a SX10 which works very well in the test connected via an HDMI cable to a TV, but we would like to have all the outputs audio codec go to a pair of external speakers.  We tried

    A. using a few different de-embedder HDMI devices to strip the audio from the HDMI connection, with the exit to those who are related to some of the speakers

    B. using 'active them external speakers, 3.5 mm mini-plug' in a little amp with the connection of speakers to the ceiling grid

Anyway, the audio ONLY happening to the speakers are the ' incoming call ringtone ' but we cannot hear audio from the remote site. Using only the HDMI cable itself to a TV, you can hear the audio from the remote through the TV.

    Is there something we're missing?

I just tested your question here and I heard all the audio via the 3.5 mm output, I used a HDMI-DVI cable so that the audio would not get on TV via the DVI connector.  However, if I used a straight HDMI cable instead of a HDMI-DVI cable, all the sound elements transmitted via the HDMI cable and output 3.5 mm.

No configuration has been made on the SX10, audio settings configuration is always default.

I do not have a de-embedder to test with so I couldn't check for you.

  • I want to find the digital audio output on my Pavilion vd6853ea notebook

I spent far too long trying to find where this output.

I have a very good stereo and at the moment am through a USB cable to connect to my DAC.

It seems that there is an output digital realtec somewhere on the laptop as it appears not when I go to the playback devices and it tests ok visually.

The 3.5 jack plug is just analog and hybrid not a spdif.

    Where is he?

Please help as I am getting really fed up now!

I thank very you much for the quick response.

I thought that might be the case.

Can I ask you a few more questions please?

If I want to get one don't output digital audio not using a HDMI (my DAC has not this entry), I can get a good result with something like a Musical Fidelity V USB converter S/Pdif link or a digital audio interface M2Tech Hiface? Sorry, I can't make a recommendation on one of these products as I am not familiar with them.

Is it possible to change the soundcard with optical or coaxial output? The sound of your laptop is an integrated solution. It's a (built-in) welded chip on the system board. It cannot be updated.

Thanks again for the kind help!

  • R830 satellite and video output via HDMI

Just wondering if it is normal that my laptop for a max of 1280 x 768 HDMI to my TV LCD 26 '' exit?

Its an i3 Satellite R830 with graphic hd3000. I have 8 GB of RAM. Tried on Windows 7 and 8 but the same thing.
I tried custom resolution, but he's also saying on the TV out of reach.

MT graphics driver is up to date and I got full HD working on this TV via another laptop old.

    Any suggestions please?

I don t know your LCD TV listing, but always is he that external resolution depends on three options:
driver graphics card, graphics card and the external device connected to the computer/laptop.

So if your TV does not support a higher resolution, you will not be able to choose another resolution.
If your TV supports a higher resolution but the graphics driver and the graphics chip would not support a higher resolution, you also won't be able to use it.

  • No sound from Digital Audio output

I have a HP Pavilion 1230n, which worked well for me.  Initially, I thought that I had plugged my Boston Acoustic to this computer speakers when I got it, but I am not sure.  in any case the sound works fine through the Green Plug little connects it to my stage monitors.  When I plug in my external speakers to the Digital socket Audio Out I get nothing, I tried to leave the monitor speaker plug and it out.  I get nothing in my external speakers.  I don't see anything in the system that helps me determine if I need to activate the audio digital or not, or how to turn it on.  I have Realtek AC97 Audio.  Please can someone help?  HP wanted $50 to diagnose and trouble shooting with me for once, because it's and the old system.  Thanks in advance to anyone who helps.

Go to control panel-> sounds and click the recording tab, then right click of the mouse to view devices disabled or disconnected. Do the same for the reading tab.

If you are still having problems then go to www.realtek.com for the latest audio driver.

The Realtek HD Audio Manager in the control panel should show a TAB digital output. But as mentioned above, non-digital speakers using SPDIF output is not going to work.

  • Channels disappear in WMC at the output via HDMI

I have a tuner TV USB (connected to an internal antenna) on my Windows 7 laptop. When I use just the laptop, I can watch TV without any problems. However, when I connect the laptop to a monitor via a HDMI cable, all channels disappear and running a scan does not find an any of them. Help the PC on the screen works fine - just Windows Media Center is not.

The laptop is a Dell Inspiron M301Z and the TV tuner is a DVB-T205 August (v2.0).
Someone at - it just an idea as to what might happen?
    Thank you

This may or may not be related but I was also faced with HDMI and TV on Media Center and Media Player playback.   You say that using the HDMI interface as a PC monitor works fine, just that WMC or MP do not play TV Live (I guess that's what you mean by "channel disappears").   I encountered the problem that I can not play back recorded OTA TV via the HDMI port, but it works fine on the computer screen, just as you describe.  I have not tried to directly play live TV like this so I do not know if this also fails.  However, I discovered that WMC and MP read properly on the TV connected via the analog VGA port on the laptop.  You can try to hook up a monitor via VGA and then try to watch television on the subject.  In my case, the HDMI connected TV present a good computer bureau and icons, etc, but when I tried to play recorded TV, Media Player won and gave me a message about missing files.  I find that VLC Player works with HDMI, but it does not play HD as well as WMC material due to its fine use of the acceleration of graphics chip.

If your tuner key comes with the TV/DVR software (most of them do), you can also try to run that and see if it works on the HDMI monitor.  I posted a query on this forum about the problem I found in mid-October ("Mirrored display causes error CODEC... "), but no useful response so far.

  • Problem startup Satellite A200 - cable test Media ROM

My Toshiba A200 got a little web slow shipping last night.
I closed the open programs and tried Ctrl, Alt, DEL, nothing happened, I tried several times, still to no effect (my pc always shows the Manager of tasks immediately after pressing these buttons)

I turned off the computer when to turn it back on again, not having my attempts to resume normal navigation.
When I turned it back on, it was very slow, it took forever to get through the "Toshiba Innovation leader 'screen. which always returns"

After that, appears a white screen with a small white dash in the upper left, and that's all that I could be bothered to wait.
Pressing F2 and F12 also nothing on the screen (they raise upward and the start menu) start of Toshiba

It also seems a light knocking / friction noise now that I never had front of the laptop.

Randomly, last night, after the keys, a black screen came up with white continuous scrolling of the letters, I don't remember much but a few key words were something along the lines of

"ROM Media test cable" or something like that, again and again.

    Hello!

    > It seems as light knocking / friction noise now that I never had front of the laptop.

It sounds like a faulty HARD drive and little noise that you said are the result of a faulty HARD drive.
You can test your disk with the Test Drive of ability physical (Google is your friend), but this is possible only if the computer laptop doesn t hangs on the screen Toshiba (must boot from CD/DVD).

However, if you have another disk HARD try it because I'm pretty sure that s HARD drive.
