Don't not full backup - partially creates cliché

Whenever I try to save, system starts to do a cliché when he reached 15% (and remains 15% for half an hour), it says don't save not completed. Troubleshooting of Windows is unable to return answers.

Since I had this problem when downloading Windows updates, it still gets to 31%, then in stops. Windows troubleshooting returns get technical help.

Anyone got any ideas?

I think you should start by sorting your updates. First of all you have service pack 1 W7? This page [http://windows.microsoft.com/installwindows7sp1] is a link to check and links to download and install the service pack.

  • How do I partition my drive so I can create a full backup of my computer?

My hard drive with windows 7 appears in disk management with 3 partitions. One is the system partition labeled C: healthy (System, boot, pagefile, Active, Crash Dump, primary Partition) and the other 2 say-healthy (recovery Partition) 1.46 GB and healthy (Primary Partition) 6.36 GB. The other 2 are shown as 100% free. Can I remove these or at least the other primary partition so I can use the space? I want to create a partition where I can make a full backup of my computer so I can restore to the current state.  Any help on how to do this? I'm not at all familiar with the help of disk management. I guess I can delete the system partition, and then the 6.36 GB will be automatically added to the first primary partition, or it would show as unallocated, then I have to shrink the first primary partition and merge sort the free space of the 2 partitions to create 1 partition backup. But I have never done this so I don't know exactly what to do.

I also have an external hard drive 2 TB USB with 1 primary partition. I would like to back up on that as well (I guess I should also create a separate partition for this.). Ideally, I would like to have my computer Setup, so when it starts up I have the ability to restore. And I guess just that this would require backup on a separate partition.

I have two Windows 7 with the backup and restoration of facilities as well as Acronis True Image Home 2011.

    Any advice much appreciated

    Thanks, Mike

Save your files or your partitions in a free partition on the internal drive is a waste of time. Doing so offers no protection against the most common such as woes

    • Flight
    • Water damage or fire
    • Physical damage (dropping out of the machine)
    • Hard drive crash
    • File system corruption (e.g. damaged partition table)
    • User error (for example of formatted the wrong partition)

A decent backup plan is based on the backup media being kept well away from the PC for most of the time.

Note also that expand them or shrink partitions is equivalent to open heart surgery. Make sure you have your important stuff saved beforehand. You should also check if the saved controls is actually readable.

  • Not enough space for a full backup.

My D drive is not sufficient to make a weekly backup.  How can I exclude from my backup ITunes?

My D drive is not sufficient to make a weekly backup.  How can I exclude from my backup ITunes?

    Two points:

1 backup on your D: drive is better than no backup at all, but just barely, it's doubly true if D: is not a second physical disk, but just a second partition on your drive only. You're just kidding yourself if you think that provides adeuate protection.

I do not recommend backup on a non-removable second hard drive, because it leaves you losses likely to be simultaneously the original and backup for many of the most common dangers: serious seeds of power, near lightning, virus attacks, even the theft of the computer (or with a second partition, crashes).

In my view, secure backup must be on a media removable and not stored in the computer. For backup really secure (necessary, for example, if your company depends on your data), you should have several generations of backup, and at least one of these generations should be stored off-site.

My computer is not used for business, but my personal backup system uses two identical removable hard disks, I alternate between the two and use Acronis True Image to make a copy complete main unit.

I also use a 1 GB USB key pair to make more frequent backups of my most sensitive data (for example, financial information). For this, I have simply drag and drop.

You can read this article on the backup that I wrote: 'Return to top your computer regularly and reliable' to http://www.computorcompanion.com/LPMArticle.asp?ID=314

    2. you don't say which is your D: drive, but there is a good chance that there is a recovery partition created by your computer manufacturer, and is what you need to reinstall Windows which should never be necessary. If that's what it is, you should never write * nothing * to him.

  • .i did not make a full backup, because I bought my laptop. I use win7 Home premium 64-bit

I checked forums, tried Mr. difficulty, used usb and dvd rom and it still says not enough space and also I can only use tools hp (drive f) or g (dvd player) drive as an option for backup space. Ive tried to change the options for many times... I did a full backup since I bought my laptop. I use win7 Home premium 64-bit.  backup of files recall comes on the other constantly.anybody I have this problem?

I suggest avoid you the Windows backup program and you get a good commercial backup program. This forum meets for a windows problem reports. I know that I was very impressed when I tried it. Three I'm familiar with and like Norton Ghost (which I use for 8 years no 1 problem), Easeus Todo Backup free, you can download it from

http://www.TODO-backup.com/products/home/free-backup-software.htm and Memeo , which has 30 day free trial and you can buy it for $29.99 - you can download it from http://memeo.com . You can get Ghost for almost nothing (like me), if you look at the sales.

The March 2012 issue of PC World is very high on the program FREE of Easeus and I tested it recently in a variety of configurations; and must say that I am very impressed. As Ghost will support up to a network drive and it will create a bootable CD for when your PC does not start. See commentary to PC World to

Some of them are free (the last time I checked there over 300), some have free trials (more), and some are buying only (more than 200).

External hard drives are the best for backup. You can get a 500 GB one for $70 and a 1.5 to one for about $90. You can also buy a flash drive of 32 GB for less than $20. It is the best insurance you can buy ever!

  • Windows displays a Message 'Create a new, full backup'

    Original title: backup

Hello! If I backup my files today and a week later I have backup once again, will not be the same files windows backup he saved last week? and my windows shows the 1 message: 'Create a new, full backup' why? * E-mail address is removed from the privacy *

    Hello

Windows backs up only the files that are changed after a recent backup of windows process. This kind of backup is called incremental backup where only the changed files are saved.

The full backup is a combination of incremental backup as well as the changes made to the computer after the incremental backup.

  • Can not do a full backup

I have 10 items on Windows 7.  When I try to do a full backup on an external hard drive, I see ' calculating size total media "and execution bar stops at 96% and nothing else happens.  I waited for an hour, nothing.  My CPU usage meter shows no activity.  It is as if he is suspended.  I can't cancel, I have to click the x button.  At some point in the past that works because I had three all backup files on my external hard drive (which I deleted before you do).

    What's wrong?

OK people.  I think I got it fixed!

I went with the support of Adobe paid ($39) and after a few days (almost a week), it seems to be fixed.  At least, I can now make a backup.  I have not tried to restore from it again (or I will cause that creates a whole new level of complexity.)  Suffice it to say the part of my backup procedure is now doing a copy of catalog file and my photos on an external drive.

After several calls to whom we did much basically the same things that you, dear friends suggested I do, Adobe said they would get back to me within 48 hours while they esclated it.  It was last Wednesday.  On Tuesday (6 days later, but over the weekend), they were recalled to work.  We all seemed to agree that the catalog is corrupt.  They wanted me to download the catalog offending on their ftp server, we did.  Either way, the level of expertise on the line this time was considerably higher than last week.

Apparently, as they climbed over the issue, some backroom engineer asked to have my catalog sent to them so they could watch.

The next day, I get a call and download us the catalog sets down to my PC and I have successfully completed a top backup.  It looked like it had been fixed very quickly yesterday.

So there is an answer.  I suggested it, they try to put the fix in their catalogue of repair service, but...

Meanwhile, I discovered that many of my pictures already had the tags written for them.  Many do not have.  Since I've never used tags writing to photo option keyword, I was wondering when and how the tags wrote.  I asked Adobe and they said that if you have photos to analyize it can also write the tags.  And you were correct, that the tags on the files are the last 'editorial '.  Any changes to the tags that make you in the organizer do not appear in the files to what rewrite you for them.

    Hope this helps other people.

And THANKS a lot for all the help and expertise you gave me.

    See you soon,.

  • HP Envy X 2: laptop recovery partition (D) merged with another partition, not be able to create a recovery media

I have merged my restore partition HP with another partition I created. Data recovery files are still intact in the New Partition. I have not created a recovery media. When I tried to create the USB Flash Drive recovery using recovery HP Manager media, I get the message that "recovery partition does not exist. How to get again the merged recovery partition and create a recovery USB Flash drive. If simply copy data from recovering files to a USB flash drive will work as a Bootable media in the case that need if in the future.

@joy1964: should not have done that.  Messing around with the OEM partition somehow good enough recovery ensures it won't work not later, when you need it.

Personally, I don't trust recovery integrated systems in any case.  You want to be able to recover from an image stored on a disk system large capacity Flash DRIVE or external.  In this way, if the disk fails, I can restore a functional system within minutes.

Consider using a third-party product known as Macrium Reflect this.

Macrium reflect (MR) provides a FREE version that can be used to image and restore partitions or drives together.

What I recommend is the following:
    (1) download and install Macrium reflect (MR)
    (2) run M. and choose the option: "Create an image of the partition (s) required to backup and restore Windows" to write a full backup to an external drive or USB key
    (3) use the option to create a CD or a USB startup key

NOW, you have the means to restore a full system that works for the external hard drive or USB key in a few minutes.

AND... you no longer have the recovery partition at all and can reuse that space for something else.

  • TimeMachine will not recognize Backup Capsule

Hello! I have a little (big) problem with my Time Capsule. My retina 13 "mcp argued until my Time Capsule (2 TB last gen) for about 2 years.

This time I was with backing up my backups (yup) and made a copy of sparsebundle Capsule on another machine.

After the copy, by mistake, I moved image root Capsule sparsebundle file in one of the folders.

After this time on my macbook Machine said something about identity changed from my backup drive. Ridicule me. Now, I've moved back to the roots sparsebundle.

So... now the only option available in the settings is to select the backup drive and if I select my drive Time Capsule he says that there is no backup and it will prepare again. Of course, after some preparation status was on the creation of initial full backup. After the day to try and give my sparsebundle previously saved (cos of time machine tries to create new ones), I tried to mount sparsebundle itself and see if its ok. And Yes, it is, I can see all the dates and all the files, so the problem not not in the picture. Fortunately, I can restore some files from here, but I want my calendar to return, as if it was.

Then the questions is - why Time Machine cannot detect backups that are currently on my Time Capsule after loosening them, and how I'll copy all backups from the old to the new Capsule if I were with this kind of behavior?

  • When doing a full backup computer falls down and must be closed

    Hello

When doing a full backup of the computer falls down and must be closed using the power switch, it is very good when you make a partial backup.
I'm trying to backup to an external hard drive via a usb connection.

The hard drive is formatted in NTFS
    Someone has any ideas
    Fred

    Hello

I will try to resume that you issue.
The HARD disk has several partitions (I guess 2 partitions)
The backup procedure works fine if you safe data only from single partition, but it crashes if you try to create a backup of all partitions of set. Am I wrong?

My first question; What backup utility do you use?
Are you sure that this backup tool supports the backup of the two partitions at the same time?

I put t know if it will help but a similar problem happened to me.
I've used Norton ghost and I wasn't able to create a backup of a partition.

The procedure began, but after several minutes, the screen goes white and the notebook frisottés.
I ran the scandisk, chkdsk and I defragment the whole HARD drive.

    This helped!

  • Full backup of the system - Vista Home Premium

I need to create a full backup of the system on a new hard drive external.  But the backup and restore apparently recognizes that I have backed up before an old man, is no longer available, external hard drive.  If it's only to create a very small file (2G) - apparently the data that has changed since I last saved - and not the complete system (~ 110GB).  How can I create a new full backup of the system? I use Vista Home Premium.  TIA, Bill

    Hello

Vista Home Premium doesn't have a backup of the computer capabitities. To Vista Business, Ultimate or enterprise.

Need you 3rd Party Software to do what you want to do.

Good pay for program is the following:

Other answers should be able to recommend free programs to do the same thing. It's just that I have not used the others lately to be able to recommend.

  • full backup on a network drive

Having problems by performing a full backup using my network ethernet WD MybookLive drive. I have successfully done a backup of files, but if I try a complete backup network drive doesn't appear in the menu "on a hard drive' option drop-down list. How can I solve this problem?
    I am running Vista Business.
    Pakal

Thanks for your quick reply, but he has NOT answered my question. A full backup (that will save an image of the hard drive, including the operating system and registry entries) is not an option in the WD backup software.
I was able to accomplish my task using wbadmin.exe. Found a thread very useful here:

    http://maximumpcguides.com/Windows-Vista/schedule-a-complete-PC-Backup/

It is easier than that, it is basically a two-step process:
    (1) go to start-accessories and right click on "command prompt" by selecting "run as administrator
    "
    (2) type the following command (changing only the path to your shared drive): WBADMIN START BACKUP - backupTarget: f:-include: c: - allCritical - vssFull-quiet

Wait a few hours and you're done. You can see the progress of the backup in terms of percentage.
