    Hello

I am a new user of Lenovo (Ideapad Z510) with Win 8.1 and I have problems with a feature in Energy Manager (installed original Lenovo disk).

In the settings menu, there is a function "zoom to screen." By using this feature, you should be able to enlarge and reduce the size of menus and icons using Fn + and Fn - buttons. I tried it and all my menus have become bigger, and I can't go back... Whenever I have press Fn - it just sort of plant. A few pictures to see the problem:

(Sorry, that the menu is in Hungarian)

    (1) some features

    (2) after pressing Fn - icon Manager duplicates the energy and all the bar becomes strange

    (3) all menus (right-click right, or even at the office) became huge

Oh, it seems that it is now resolved. If, instead of using the cursor (it has been on the smallest) I went from police in the menu below from 11 to 10, and now it seems fine. I tried to solve the problem with the cursor before, but have not thought to decrease the font size.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus: Scan of the computer does not work with Win8.1 [solved: problem with USB3 Boost]

Since I have installed 8.1 (pro), I can't use my 8600 software Pro for scanning the computer (via USB). It seems that there is no communication with the printer regarding the scanning software, but printing as usual.

Tried to use the HP printer Assistant: when I click on the button "scan a Photo Document or", I get a message "inaccessible Scanner. Also restarted the printer.

When I try to scan from Photoshop, the system first finds the printer, but it fails to connect.

Update HP says that my system is up to date.

HP Print and Scan Doctor 4.2 concludes and tells the printer on the welcome panel and seems to be able to communicate with him, up to a point.

It gives me a error 'pilot' (sorry if is not called in English - he takes over my keyboard language, which is French and says "Pilot error") and says that no communication could be created between the printer and the driver for scanning, and I have to restart the computer...

So I did and revived the software of the doctor, who gave me the same error message. This time, I clicked on 'Ignore' and let things. He ran a "Scan" Test twice and said that everything was going well or had been repaired. But strangely nothing on the printer during these 'tests '. And in the end, as he offered to do a scan test myself, I clicked on OK and I got the error message "inaccessible Scanner" again.

Then I did my scans on a USB key, as I have done a few times already, and has gone very well. But I'd be happy to have this function "Scan to computer" back. How?

Thanks in advance 23. It is resolved! See to the end.

I use McAfee (All Access - Total Protection). All green. I did some research using 'Paint', 'Windows Fax' and 'Scan' and checked all the results using McAfee: 'does detect any items that require your attention.

Here is a series of screenshots when you run printing HP and doctor Scan:

    I click on "Scanning troubleshooting..."

I click on 'Ignore' right now because I know now that a restart will not help, but I have already tried (see my first post).

It seems that the problems have been repaired. And if I click on 'Scan Test', it seems too good, initially...

But if I go on and click on "Scan", bye bye:

Everything is the same as the first time, as I remember.

I checked services: dependencies are OK (RPC is in the WIA Service dependencies). Both services are "Running" and "automatic". I stopped and restarted WIA. No change.

    I launched a sfc/scannow:

Before that, I changed the USB (a new one): no change.

AND THEN: I unplugged the USB cable connecting the port (USB3) standard (directly on the rear panel of the motherboard) and plugged into a PCI USB3 card. And all was well with the scan.

Do you think this says something about my motherboard (Asus X 79 Deluxe brand new) or on the Officejet?

  • Mouse automoves (BootCamp, Win8.1 and Win10)

OK, so I installed win10 and win8.1 (win8.1 only to see if the error is restricted version) with BootCamp just for playing games.

The two games that I tried to watch this error: the game camera does not stop when I stop moving the mouse, and she continues to spend (not always in the same direction).

    It's very frustrating.

Someone had this question before, perhaps, there is also a solution out there?

Thank you very much in advance.

PS: also, mouse Bluetooh can be combined, but I could live with this issue using a non - BT mouse...

PS2: I tried to find a solution through Google and the search here, without result... would be surprised if I was the first with this question...

I also tried if the following to solve this but they do not have:

-two mice (one with a dongle USB - Logitech G602 - and a wired Logitech wireless) on various surfaces, decayed mousepad, including a sheet of white paper

-change the resolution of the screen

    -Disable touchpad (Device Manager)

    -win10 and win8, 1

-two totally different (Far Cry 3 and Football Superstars), games in the process of installing more to test, but probably not a gambling problem

-However, this automove does not happen the games. While the desktop Windows, the mouse behaves well... what a DirectX problem? go to check...

    Any other ideas welcome.

  • After I updated to Firefox Win8.1 begins to crash.

I had been using Firefox 26 on Win8 and it worked very well. I've updated to Win8.1 and now Firefox crashes all the time. The entire system freezes and help only turns off the computer.

    Hello

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. As this feature has been added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there are still some problems.

You will have to perhaps restart Firefox for it to take effect, so save any work first (e.g. you compose mail, documents online that you are editing, etc.).

    Then perform the following steps:

    • Click on the orange top left Firefox button, then select the 'Options' button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to tools > Options.
    • In the Firefox options window, click the Advanced tab, and then select 'General '.
    • You will find in the list of parameters, the checkbox use hardware acceleration when available . Clear this check box.
    • Now restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.

In addition, please check the updates for your graphics driver by following the steps in the following knowledge base articles:

  • Satellite Pro L300 upgraded to Win8 but I would like to update the drivers

I have upgraded to Windows 8, but I found the Wifi adapter needs to be reset frequently (it seems to be without a cause) - Troubleshooting Windows 8 solves it by resetting the adapter, but I thought there will be a fix for this?

When I tried to update the drivers I found that the L300 is not (in the not extensible or expandable lists)-is the L300 compatible in this respect by another model? Or can you suggest how to update all the drivers of Toshiba for this model.

    Thank you

Your Satellite Pro is the model of laptop old enough and not supported for Win8.
It is difficult to find drivers for the notebook not supported models and old.

Problem is that if you make the decision to do so anyway you are on your own and can be all just lucky if everything works properly.
    > is the L300 compatible in this respect by another model?
It is not easy to give you the right answer. What needs to be done is to compare each hardware component important as chipset, GPU, chip sound, LAN/WLAN with other models and see if some Win8 drivers are available. It is not so easy.

For example: Toshiba Satellite pro L300 offers 4 different hardware platforms. One you have? What is the model number of your machine?

  • Audio choppy and distorted on Portege Z930 after update of Win7 for Win8 64

I just wanted to share a tip with you that cost me some time to work, about the sound reproduction of a Portege Z930.

    When I got my new Z930 - 14L, he was running Win7.
I tried everything like you do when you get a new machine and it worked fine - including the audio playback.

When I updated for Win8-64 since the CD that came with the computer, everything still seemed to work very well and I had not changed any driver or Setup.

However, after a few minutes, the linenn of audio playback. It choppy, distorted, interrupted, stuttering and I was shocked.

Oddly enough, as soon as I turned my attention to the computer again, reading was OK again - but no screen saver came and no power saving mode has come in so little time. I knew that this was no hardware problem (because it worked in Win7), it was not a driver problem (because the first 5 minutes, the sound was pristine), he was not a ground loop, (as many have suggested) because it sounds differently.

Thanks to another forum, I discovered that it is actually the combination of Windows Defender, Win8-64 Pro and the audio driver that causes this. If the device is idle for a few minutes, the Defender thinks it's a good idea to use idle time to scan the SSD - causing interference with audio playback. Of course, you cannot simply disable or stop the central antivirus process, that would ruin some the whole point. :-)

_So I installed Kaspersky suite on the machine (which automatically disables the Windows Defender) and the problem disappeared! _ it's probably the only time where the installation of an antivirus suite SOLVES a problem. :-)

BTW, this is not probably limited to this antivirus product, simply play a bit with the Defender.

    Best, Yuppie

  • Dynadock U3 - mousepointer disappears in Win8

    Hello

I use a U3 Dynadock on a Smart PC to another manufacturer with a processor Intel ATOM-(Win8 32-bit).

The only problem that occurs is, when I go to the mode Office Win8 the mouspointer disappears from time to time. This occurs when the mouse is connected to the Dynadock station and also directly connected to the tablet.
    Metro-mode mousepointer works very well.

If the Tablet is not connected to the mousepointer Dynadockstation works also very well (in both modes).

I have no idea how to solve this problem.

    Kind regards

    Peter

    Hello

To be honest, I've never used a Dynadock within the framework of a Tablet and from my point of view, it would be possible that both devices would not work without problem.
I use the Dynadock under my laptop running Win 8 and mouse works correctly.

Just one question: you use the latest version of the software for this Dynadock?
You can get the latest version of the driver from this page:

  • HP dv8t-1000 Bluetooth on Win8 does not

After installing Win8, bluetooth does not work. According to the info on your website, it seems he does not intend to support Win8 on my device.

Just to let you know, I have install Win8 on my laptop, I did HP recovery, then upgraded to Win8. Everything works well except the bluetooth. -There's another problem with Microsoft update that failed to install, but that has been resolved by the judgment of all non-microsoft services, restart the machine, install the update (and it works this time), restart all services and restart.

This laptop is a powerful laptop. I bought it with the intention of keeping it for many years to come. So please is it possible that you could help me get the bluetooth on Win8 running.

    Thank you

    Mutasem Beauvois

I lost hope in solving this problem I tried all kinds of tricks and solutions that people posted. It could just be me... However, I have a degree in computer science and I consider my free knowledgable by following the instructions that post other people... but not luck.

I was about to follow the advice of someone buying an bluetooth external 4, hold on to my machine and use it instead of my built in. At the last moment before I do, I remembered that in 2009, I bought a version of BlueSoleil and they gave me the life time upgrades... So I contacted them, got a license for their latest software, installed on my machine... and it worked! I was able to connect my bluetooth devices using the BlueSoleil software.

This means that the problem of bluetooth on my machine (and most likely everyone who have this problem) is a SOFTWARE problem. I hate Microsoft and HP doesn't get time to save hundreds of times of people who have this problem. I'm a software developer myself... it does not have much time to debug the problem and find a solution...

If you really want to help us, you could... at least you could contact BlueSoleil get their Bluetooth drivers, create an upgrade works for everyone and to improve our machines.

One note though, if you try to buy Bluesoliel is that their software is sometimes buggy... I use the bluetooth mainly to connet my bluetooth headset. I take the headphones with me everywhere wherever I'm going, and I connect it to my cell phone when I'm away from the laptop. So when I come back and want to connect the headphones to new laptop, seomtimes, do not access immediately... when it refuses to connect, I open the Task Manager, close everything that has to do with Bluetooth, reopen the software Bluesoliel and force to connect... and it works again. but this happens regularly.

    Good luck

  • Conversion of SSD drive for the reader to boot on m7 with Win8

I just bought a new m7-j020dx (product code E4S19UA #ABA) with Windows 8 from Best Buy.  Unfortunately, it came with a standard hard disc (HDD), and I would like to install a Solid State Drive (SSD).  I have an Intel 320 and 530 series-reader.  But I was not able to get a bootable from that disc.

The first thing I tried was cloning the drive to plant on a new disk of 530 series using AOMEI Backupper.  I got an error writing on the partition of the third.  I thought that maybe the drive was bad, so I tried again with an Intel 320 series SSD drive.  Same mistake.

The next attempt was to clone the disk to another disk of 1 TB (connected via USB), reduce the main partition with MiniTool and clone of the 320 series SSD.  The cloning went well.  However, with the new installed SSD, the computer will not start, and I get "Error0x0000225", something about a file not found.  Disable "secure starting" in the BIOS setup has not helped (I did after the clone).

So I thought I would do a clean install of win 8.  I generated a recovery on a 32 GB USB SanDisk player disc using Win8 recovery disk generator (as indicated on the site of HP).  I then ran the program of recovery out of the USB drive and after a few hours of software installation driver and several reboots, I get a message from HP, indicating that the installation was not complete.  Reinstall did not help.

I don't know what the problem is.

What the recovery disk USB one made from the original bad HARD drive (we get only a single shot at it)?  Do I need media of the order of HP on disks?  Are there problems with the use of SSDS on those computers?  Should I not a BIOS settig correctly (UEFI)?  Is there some Intel storage drivers clutter it?

I think my next step will be to create a disc Image and place it on the SSD drive.  But I doubt that this solves the problem with the start to it.

Another option might be to build fresh using Win8 media, then download and install each driver from the HP website.

Any ideas out there in the land of the experts?

    Vachsen wrote:

    Thank you, erico, for advice.

I tried this with 320 (160 GB) series and SSD 530 series (120 GB and 240 GB).  Actually, I have not tried on the 240GB again, just two other. . The 240 GB SSD is the best candidate. During cloning, using a larger SSD is the best for worms down the road when other programs are installed.

So far, I've done everything suggested this that caramel:

-Updated the BIOS for later: F.43. 03/01/2014 (HP support site).

-Installed Intel Rapid Storage Technology v. 12.9.0.1001 (taken from the Intel site).

-Updated the firmware of the 530 series 120 GB using Intel SSD Toolbox v2.0.10 of 06/20/2013 (from Intel).

-The series 160 GB 320 firmware was up to date.

-Installed the Data Migration Software Intel v. 2.0, dated 29/04/2013 (taken from the Intel site).

-Updated environmental Support UEFI v5.3.3.0 dated 26/09/2013 (on the HP support site)

    -Enabled secure boot.

Even using Data Migration tool Intel did not work.  Before Support UEFI environment, data migration tool would go to the step to reset but does not start what whether manually or to another.  Support UEFI environment, the software says simply "Operation failed." Following the manual data migration softwarecan be a bit tricky. There are a few things about the bootind of the Acronis loader * which must be carefully designed for the operation to succeed.  Intel also has a forum which can help as well.

When I hit F10 and in the Configuration of the system, the Intel RST is not available.  So I suspect there is something not right here. The suggestion of updating the BIOS of caramel didn't across before it was made. It was not necessary and therefore not a good plan. I suggest that you use the Diagnostics UEFI and rollback to the previous BIOS. If you need advice with those just let me know. I have a few images that should show you what you should see.

A number of things, I noticed I did upgrades:

-The site of HP support for my computer has Intel Rapid Storage Technology 12.0.7.1002 v, dated 30/06/2013 is earlier than on the Intel site.  Maybe I should roll back. That must be rolled back to the version shipped by HP. I see you introduced makes as stated in a previous post.

-The HP support site has two distinct "RST", storage technology products a quick and a quick start technology.

Intel has "RST" next to their rapid storage technology, so I might be confused.  I have installed the driver of the technology of quick start on the HP support site so if it is not already on the computer, perhaps it is not running and is the "RST" which is the missing piece.  In fact, same caramel said I need fast boot technology driver and then linked to download Rapid Storage Technology driver. Do not pay attention to what it says caramel.

Here are two of the same?  Support site of HP with two drivers and version numbers, I suspect not.   Any ideas would be useful.  They are indeed different.

The Intel Rapid Storage Technology softpaq sp61600.exe driver provides NCQ (native command qeueing) features for the SATA controller.

The Intel Rapid storage Technology driver softpaq sp61325.exe is supposed to improve the SSD or mSATA consumption of hibernation and also imrove the resume from hibernation.

You can't even consider installing either softpaq to clone the drive. It is always better to keep things simple.

The SATA cable USB you use has two connectors usb at one end?  It is necessary to provide enough power for the SSD for data migration is not. Connect each usb connector to a different usb port.

    Dan

Intel also recommends the free use of third parties such as cloning utilities

    http://www.EASEUS.com/disk-copy/

    http://www.partitionwizard.com/products.html

EASEUS is, in my opinion, the best of the three.

  • printers HP 7610 stops at halfway printing or returns error on win8.1 (wireless configuration)

Help please...  Just got the printer large format 7610 a few days ago and installed everything fine on win8.1 from the CD and select the wireless option.

All right, except if I try to print one full photo page, or something other than a small photo or a document.  The printer stops printing before it's over or a useless error message on the screen saying "printing error on HP Officejet 7610 Series (network).  With no other info.

Sometimes the picture full page prints completely, but after a delay of 10 seconds, the error message appears on the computer.  It's as if the computer has not received a "finished printing" status message of the printer.  Maybe after a time-out period, it displays the message, assuming that there is an error with printing.  Basically, the handshake seems wrong.

I tried to print from several programs, such as Picasa and Irfanview.  I disabled my anti-virus software too.  I enabled the discovery of the public and private network and printer and file sharing too.

But... If I go to control panel > printers and peripherals > and select "add a printer".  And add another printer 7610 (which only allows you to select the driver "7610 series class driver"), this second printer (with the "class driver") will not get the error.  However, this printer has all the options of paper and some other features of the 7610 printer selection.  This second printer uses a "TCP/IP Port", not a "WSD" port as the (network) install uses.  So the question is somewhere with WSD port / protocol services device, which uses the installation of the HP printer on the CD of the web site.

7610 (wireless network - using the WSD port) printer driver seems to have a major problem.  Help, please.  I can't print the large 13 x 19 even images I got this printer, since it will not be printed a large full photo.  The wireless communication protocol or the Protocol seems terribly flawed.  I use 802.11 WPA - PSK with high quality signal (first level 5).

Thanks for any immediate help or clues.  I went through all the normal stuff.  verified that all software are up-to-date.  There is no firmware downloads available, the firmware in the printer is the most recent.  powered and on all 3 devices (printer, router, pc).

... Edit... The only solution I came with is go to control panel > display devices and printers > right click on the printer, select the printer properties > Ports tab and change the "WSD" port to one of the unused ports "TCP/IP".  This causes a second printer to add to the list of printers.  In this way, I have media and the paper size options.  But I'm afraid I've lost all the features that come with using WSD port peripheral, such as scanning, web services etc..

It is the only solution to this problem that worked for me. Why it has not been resolved by HP after all this time I'll never know.

    http://troubleshooting201.rssing.com/browser.php?indx=14839819 & Item = 2327

More specifically - that part of the above page, it is what solves the problem-

Find out what IP address, is that your printer uses.
Go to control panel, then click "View devices and printers."
Look for your printer right click.
Click on "Printer properties" and a new screen opens.
Along the top, you will see some tabs. Click on the one that says "Ports".
    Click on 'Add Port '.
Highlight "Standard TCP/IP Port" by clicking on it, then click "New Port". A new screen opens.
    Click "next".
Type the IP address of your printer, and then click "next".
Your computer should find your printer.
Click 'Apply' and your printer should work fine.
