Drive DVD HP 1260i

My DVD player is no longer reliable read CD - R discs. It's 3 1/2 years. I think I need to replace it.

It seems that 1260i is no longer available. Actually, I don't see HP's DVD writers on the site of HP. What would be a good replacement?

The availability of DVD burners has been spiraling downwards. I found only these ASUS and Samsung as worthy.

I liked the HP1270i at $24, but now it's over $ 100.

Hi Val,

The correct driver for your laptop running Wnidows 2000 should be version 3.0.8.0 and is available for download from the Web from Toshiba website.

You have disk problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD burn
and CD and DVD read). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 operational so that other parts
do it right.

Burning at low speed, or by using the master could help. A CD/DVD cleaner might help.

Brand of the CD or DVD drive can also be the problem. Low quality (cheap brands) are always problematic.

CD/DVDs have a tolerance + - and your can read/write on the edge outside these discs
tolerances. They may be delivered, but it is generally more economical to replace the disk.

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward

• Drive DVD (E) does not work in a HP Windows Vista Premium system

When I install a DVD in drive E, nothing happens. MagicJack is installed on the computer and using the DVD player as well.

In the device - drive DVD/CD-ROM Drives Manager - Tiger Jet CD-Rom USB Device (MagicJack) and TSSTCorp CDDVDW TS-L633M ATA devices are listed.

Apparently the MagicJack drive does not drive the function E.

Try uplugging your magic Jack for a few seconds and install it back, it can set up an another hardware profile and take a next unassigned drive letter. Or change the drive letter of your DVD drive assignment:
Click Start-> right click 'Computer'-> manage-> click on 'Continue' on the prompt UAC-> in "Computer management" slot, click on "Disk management" "Storage". On the right pane, right click on your DVD drive and click on «Change drive letter and path...» "-> click on the button 'change... '. "under-> assign a new drive letter.

• Drive DVD/Bluray & software for El Capitan

I replace my imac with a 27 "iMac 2009 new arrival Monday. I have not bought an external hard drive. The Apple Superdrive comments have not been stellar.

I also know that because Sony and Apple are not friends, Bluray will not soon to Apple products. I would also like the ability to burn at DVD, if not Bluray discs. Suggestions for readers and/or software (since some players do not understand the software) will be greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading!

vtsue,

I recommend contacting OWC (www.macsales.com) they specialize in Macs and can help you with a Blue Ray burner and then help you to choose the software you need for your application. You can call or do a live chat, according to your preference. Before contacting them please give a little thought to what you want a device capable of Blue Ray to do for you, in this way, they can steer you in the right direction.

• Satellite 2450-201: installation new multi drive DVD - RW

DEVICE IS NOT RECOGNIZED - THE NOTEBOOK STARTS UP OK OTHERWISE.

HOW TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM.
HELP & GREATLY APPRECIATED TIPS.

Hello

It's very strange because the BIOS recognizes the drive but not the Windows operating system
I assume that you have installed the "multi DVD ND - 6750A reader" but you do not 'Refresh' of the Win OS.
I'm not 100% sure but I think the operating system driver is responsible for this issue.
I recommend reinstalling the operating system. Maybe the operating system makes it possible to recognize the DVD drive.

• Driver DVD-Ram on Qosmio G20 error

Hi all
I "inherited" a G20 of my boss and the CD/DVD drive does not work. I tried to uninstall/install but get the message that the device driver could not be loaded. the driver is corrupted or missing (code 39).
Any suggestions? Thank you.

Hello

Reasons for this error include a driver that is not present; a binary file is damaged; a file I/O problem or a driver that makes reference to an entry point in another binary file that could not be loaded.

Uninstall the driver, and then click Scan for hardware changes to reinstall or upgrade the driver.

On the tab General properties of the device, click Troubleshoot to start the Troubleshooting Wizard.

I went into all the AutoPlay settings, etc, etc and checked all the relevant boxes. It seems to keep coming up against a problem after another with this pc (running Windows 8.1)

No need to install the program on the other computer. All that you are interested is if she accepts the CD and see the files.

• Replace the drive DVD/CD-RW on my Satellite Pro A40

Hello

Does anyone know if a Toshiba DVD/CD-RW drive with model number SD-R2412 will be compatible with my Satellite Pro A40? If not, anyone know where I could find? Some muggins broke the CD drive on my laptop by bumping the case off a cargo cover. As a result, I can't claim on the warranty... statement of accidental damage... bah. :-(

A friend of mine, think the new drive can need CSEL or M/S setting... What is it exactly and I need for an A40 Pro Sat? The laptop model number is PSA45E - 0184H - EN

Thank you!!

Hello

Sorry, but I can't tell you which model will fit your laptop because there is not a public document on this subject. I know that your drive is set up and if the warranty is still valid you should not o alone because you can lose your warranty. I also found information that your device may also use a DVD-R, - RW drive. These types of information have all authorized partners. Try to contact them. I'm sure they can give you correct information on this subject.

• Drive DVD Toshiba x 64 for Windows7

Hello.

As in the title I initially installed Vista Ultimate x 84 and in this system, the Toshiba DVD player program. It's ok because it converts the videos in HD. On the second partition 2 installed Windows 7 Ultimate x 64.

My question is if anyone knows where I can download this DVD Toshiba x 64 drive in Windows 7. In 84 of the line DVD player x when you install the x 64 line displays an error.

Hello

If you would simply upgrade the Win Vista to Win 7 then Toshiba preinstalled applications would be repries by Win 7.
Where the drivers or tools are not published for Win 7 it s better to make an upgrade instead of clean install.

Right now, you have two options; You can download the player out to Vista or you will wait until this player would be released for Win 7
