Drive hard test has failed Hard disk 1 (303) fast for my HP mini 110-3700ca PC.
Windows 7 32-bit operating system.
After a tragic accidental "bump" on the table (I think even it's so serious..), the computer begins to slow down considerably, and when I tried to restart it, it shows:
Windows error recovery
Windows could not start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause.
He recommend me to launch startup repair, but because the HP mini is not a CD-Rom... It shows the error status: 0xc0000225.
It's pretty obvious that bumping could damage the hard drive, so I tried to run the disk check, and "hard disk 1 (303) fast" was all that I've got ACE.
I put a lot of files on my netbook, and I am desperate enough to see that it works again. Help, please!
Hello
Well, it of very sad, could also be due to physical damage. Anyway, please do a HARD test drive:
1. reboot the computer.
2. keep pressing the F10 key when appears the HP logo. This will take you to the Bios configuration utility.
3. Select the Diagnostics tab.
4. Select the option "drive hard test" and press ENTER to perform the test.
Note: This test takes at least 40 minutes (with luck)
Go - the hard disk is not damaged, you can restore the data.
Fail - the hard drive is damaged and may need to be replaced, no choice.
Kind regards.

Hello Atelier42, this usually indicates that you have a hard disk failure.
I would like to back up my data as soon as possible, just in case the hard drive breaks down actually.
You must also make sure that you have the HP Recovery restore set for your system recovery disc in case you do not want to replace the hard drive.
With this restore HP Recovery disk set, you could replace a defective hard drive and use this disk set to your HP system back as it was when shipped. Then, you could put your data saved on your system.

Hello!
It is not a hard drive error, that I don't know hard disk is in perfect condition according to CHKDSK.
It is just a minor nuisance under the settings of PC peripheral hard drive WDC WD300HLFS is, show with a rather alarming message pilot error below. What could be the cause of the error of driver?

My catalogue contains images of two different hard disks. One, my main drive and the other a small external. I want to draw all the files from the outside for the larger hard drive WITHOUT deleting them from the outside. I think that it's impossible to all the research I've done. I can easily move the files moving files in Lightroom, but this removes the files from the original disc. I can't import the files because they are already in the catalog. I can use Explorer to copy the files, but when I do this Lightroom ignoring double because he already knows about the image and where it was originally and still is. This is true even when the external is disconnected.
One idea is to create a new catalog and import all of the photos in the new catalogue. If I do this will I lose any changes that I made in the original catalogue. And I can import the files from the primary drive without in fact to pass the actual raw data that is just say this new catalogue hey these pictures are already in this folder go to find them and then import the files from the outside, by physically copying in the dialog box import to lightroom from outside the main disk. This translates into a large photo file on the main drive with all the pictures imported and named the same way taken by date without destroying the files on the outside.
Cleaning of the mistakes of the past is always much more complicated that take those time and not make them in the first place, but I have not lived my life that way. Thanks for any help.
Best for the community,
M

Not true, it is possible.
In your operating system, you COPY the files (and not MOVE) bigger hard disk, then point Lightroom to the new location of the pictures on the larger hard drive using these instructions (scroll down to the section called "Update folder location")

My drive hard netbook is too small for Windows Xp Pro
I tried to load a new Windows Xp Pro on my Asus eee Pc 4 g with a hard disk of 4Gb SD. It was Linux I want. The microsoft site, I read stated that it would use 1.5 GB of space. I keep running out of space with all updates. I made a mistake by putting this new copy oem on the netbook. It was activated a month ago and I loaded it twice because it is so big. I compressed drive and reduced the system restore. I don't want to lose this copy and think I should be able to load it on a machine with a bigger drive. I can charge it with the same key or what I need to lose the software. I know it's my mistake, but I think I should be able to reload them on a machine with a bigger drive and save the cost of the software. Microsoft will allow me to move the software? Perhaps they will assign another key? Thank you
I made a mistake by putting this new copy oem on the netbook.
I should be able to load it on a machine with a bigger drive
I can charge it with the same key or what I need to lose the software.Sorry, what OEM can't be moved to another computer.
You can buy a hard drive more and put it in the netbook, and then install your OEM copy.
You can move the windows on a new computer
If it's a full license or upgrade retail - Yes. You can move it to another computer as long as it is installed on one computer at a time (and if it's a version upgrade the new Windows computer must have its own license of qualification). The previous Windows installation on your old computer must be formatted or deleted. You will have to perhaps call Microsoft and explain what happened to complete activation. Turning it on the second computer will automatically be in effect 'disable' the license for the first computer.
If it's an OEM license - don't. OEM licenses, including Windows preinstalled on a computer before purchase and Windows purchased separately, are related to the first computer, they are installed on and cannot be transferred to another computer. To install Windows on another computer, you will need to buy another copy.
Microsoft will allow me to move the software? Perhaps they will assign another key? Thank you
You will need to buy another copy to install on another computer, if you can find a copy of XP.
You can purchase Windows 7 here (or at a local store):

drive hard test shows 'hard disk 1 (303) quick"what do I do now?
I have a HP pavilion DV6 notebook PC and I pressed f10 to run the hard drive and memory test. Test memory past but hard drives HDD 1 fast (303)? What should I do now?
Hello
303 error code is a disk failure short self-test and would indicate that hard is defective and must be replaced.
If your laptop is still under warranty, contact HP and arrange for the disk replaced - you can check the status of your warranty here.
If you live in the United States, contact HP here.
If you are in another part of the world, begin here.
If you are out of warranty and would like a guide to replacing the hard drive yourself, please let me know - include the full model number and your notebook dv6 series Nr - see here for an explanation.
Kind regards

Drive HARD recovery does not not for Satellite Pro L450D-12 x
I have a laptop that I'm fixing for a friend.
According to toshibas official specification it is than a HDD recovery partition which is hidden. For a reason unknown to me, now the 0 (zero) key does not work. F8 does not work either and the windows system restore does not seem to get me there either.
Can someone please explain to me why this is happening?
Nobody ever touched the hard drive on the alleged recovery hidden partition which is toshibas official specs 100%...Anyone share a few ideas with me here please
Kind regards
AndrewHello
The HARD drive recovery partition is not hidden
In my case the image files when placed on the second partition in Toshiba HDD folder. However, the fact is that HARD drive recovery could be launched by pressing the F8 key, and then choose the option called repair my computer and in a new window the recovery HARD drive option should be chosen.
If this is not possible, then you will need to retrieve the laptop using the recovery disk.I guess that this disk is not created in the past. Right? You can create the disc using the recovery disk creator which is preinstalled on all Toshiba laptops.
If this is not possible, then you must order the CD here:

Exchange the HARD disk of 1 TB for one SSD 120 GB problem...
Hello
I just bought a HP pavilion special edition with audio of beets running windows 8.1.
What I wanted was a windows 8.1 with touchscreen and SSD, but could not find a laptop with all these attributes at an affordable price so decided to buy this one and upgrade to an SSD HARD drive, 120 GB is more than enough storage for me so I bought a Kingston Hyper X 120 GB SSD I did a recovery USB media and installed the new drive, unfortunately, support for hp recovery would not format the SSD drive and then I accidentally formatted the USB and I am not able to make another.
Any suggestions?
You could re - install your 1 TB drive in your laptop and a Clone of your SSD drive. Then once the clone is complete simply swap the drives.
Or you could buy a HP recovery support and recover from your newly installed SSD.
