  I have a problem installing the ATI vga driver. I know that only drivers from the Toshiba site may be used, but they do not work yet. I have a Toshiba Satellite C660 laptop 1 - EF with ATI HD5470 and Windows 7 SP1 x 64 installed. I bought without OS, so I did not all discs.

  After I installed it (clean install) of the OS, I have seen that some devices had been installed with the drivers built into windows (or not yet installed). So I decided to download the proper drivers. The first problem is that I couldn't find the driver ATI for W7 x 64 on the Toshiba site for this type of laptop. I tried to find a similar notebook that has the same graphics card. At least I could find a driver. But when I tried to install it, it was closed. He did nothing, just closed.

  There is an AGP-ATI driver screen. You must download and install it.

  I assume that you have not used the Toshiba Recovery for the installation of the OS CD. Why?
  On this CD, all drivers are pre-installed and it s a better way to install the operating system.

  2 months ago I had a problem and I had my main changed with a new card. Before going into the toshiba service center my battery held only about 1 hour. When I got back my laptop with the new main Board battery is a not even hold for 1 second. It was completely dead and useless. So I ordered a new battery on ebay and I just got today.

  When I plug it into the laptop battery LED flashes orange. When I tried power the laptop on nothing's happened. When the battery is in, regardless if the laptop is turned on or off, the light continues to blink and regardless if the power adapter is plugged or not, laptop does not turn on. The only way I powered on with new battery needed to remove and turn right on the adapter and then connect the battery. But when I remove the card, the laptop turns off after 2-3 seconds.

  I tried to remove the battery drivers and reinstall them, but it did not help. I also tried to remove the adapter and the battery and keep the power button for a while and who have no effect too.

  Is this new original Toshiba product of battery or another brand?
  To me, this looks like a compatibility issue. Somehow placed electronic power on the motherboard may not work with this new battery.

  I have a L850-1HT (PSKG8E), I installed a fresh Win7 64 bit, but I can't find any driver that would work with my version of the laptop.

  In the Toshiba box drivers for win7 iIcan only find drivers for Intel graphics card, no driver AMD.

  Can someone help me out here.

  Take a look in the download area of the Satellite L850 PSKDLE series drivers.
  You will find the ATI / AMD display driver and these two series use the same graphics chip so this driver should work for the PSKG8E series too.

  But I checked the drivers available for all series of L850 and I found the AMD display drivers.

  Toshiba drivers are modified for mobile use. We hear that this driver supports a GPU overheating protection.
  Drivers ATI original don t support such characteristic and that is the reason why this driver cannot be installed using the standard installation procedure.

  But if you want to use this driver at your own risk, you can install it via the Device Manager.
  Here, you get an option of advanced installation that allow you to choose the folder containing the downloaded driver of the driver files. In this way, you could install such 3rd party driver.
