Drivers/T500

Hey, just got my T500 yesterday & it seems to be missing some drivers. I went to support D/L @ Lenovo drivers, but I'm just not quite savy to choose the good ones. Any help welcome.

system: 2055-2EU

PCI memory controller

Qualcom HS - USB

Thanks, Paul

Paul,

PCI memory controller it's the Intel Turbo memory

Qualcom HS - express WWAN USB pci card.

I download and run TVSU, in this way, the drivers will be updated properly and drivers remaining

updates to current levels.

I don't want to guess you have brand as opposed to lenovo preload, because these drivers are standard with

on the preload.

My T61 has not catastrpphically and I had to get a replacement and I took a T500 2055 - A77, it works very well with the drive hard to the T61 uninstall the T61 drivers and install the drivers T500 and your good to go, but the hard disk provided with the T500 was a 160 GB 7200 RPM Fujitsu and I had a 100 GB at 7200 RPM Hitachi / MIN in my T61 I'm looking for "Clone". the hard drive to the hard drive of 160 GB it will be and then have everything I need to space wise I will install Steam and Valve games (Source) based play. TF2 you like Lenovo in any case, I need to find a way to overclock the GPU (please let me know if it is deprecated)

    Hello

Why not just use the hard drive 160 GB 7 200 rpm, which accompanies the T500 as OS disk and install any apps you want and move your data over the old T61?  It may take a little longer, but you will have a clean factory OS installation, as well as all the apps you want or need installed.

I would recommend against overclocking any component of your laptop.  I don't really think that they are designed for this kind of heat load, with the exception of models of exotic games, maybe.

  • T500 Windows 8.1 drivers 64-bit

I just installed an SSD in my 2081CTO ThinkPad T500 and did a clean install of Windows 64-bit Professional 8.1. As the system seems to be faster than with the original HARD drive / WIndows 7 Pro 64-bit, there are a number of missing drivers and Thinkpad apps:

    • Fingerprint drivers - Fingerprint software for 8.1 installs, but apparently not with the right drivers for this machine fingerprint sensor. Device Manager displays the sensor of fingerprint unmanned.
    • "Keyboard shortcuts" / on-screen display - I found a version on the Lenovo Web site that installs at least a piece, but the blue Fn keys combination with things like screen brightness, turn on/off wireless, etc does not work.
    • ThinkVantage support - the blue "ThinkVantage" button doesn't seem to have any software to trigger
    • Switchable graphics - when this option is enabled in the BIOS, only the Intel graphics card works. The ATI card shows that it cannot start in Device Manager. I set the BIOS to use discrete graphics and ignore the OS support for switchable graphics and now work the ATI card and the Intel adapter does not appear in Device Manager
    • PCI controller memory - shows in the device without driver manager
    • Serial port PCI - shows in the device without driver manager
    • Simple controller PCI of communication - shows in the device without driver manager

Here is a screenshot of the Device Manager showing devices with missing drivers:

Can someone point me drivers/software that will allow these devices on my T500? Alternatively, can anyone tell me if Lenovo can release the updated drivers that will sustain them?

    Thank you

    -Jeremy

Try to install the Intel AMT drivers. Or if you do not use AMT, disable it in the BIOS.

  • T500: Format and install XP-32 pro-life drivers?

I just bought a T500 and want to format the hard drive, remove the partitions and install my own copy of Windows XP Pro 32-bit.

I would like to get all the relevant drivers.  When I go to

    http://www-307.IBM.com/PC/support/site.WSS/product.do?brandind=10&familyind=422608&machineind=427443...

He asked that 'Type '.  Where can I find it?

Moderator Note: Type added to the line object for clarity.

You can find it on the bottom of your laptop on the right of the thumbnail next to the serial number. It might be in a four-number format (type), followed of a three characters (numbers or alphabets which is the model)... like these for example 2767-12U or 2261-CTO etc.

  • T500 completely scrambled discrete graphics

My T500 has developed a serious problem with the video of the graphic interface is completely corrupt.

I tried on the features of dual screen with my L170p monitor. As I used it, I noticed a video corruption, particularly on applications slipped between the views. Finally, I decided that it is not really me anyway, and so I minimized the 2 display resolution (800 x 600) and disabled the option "extend my Windows desktop on this monitor.

However, corruption has continued and I decided to restart it. However, before I could, the machine gave a BSOD that was mostly unreadable. Reboot, the Windows XP splash screen was also altered; I tried to use the Fn + F7 to switch to the external display, but it was no better. Try to connect fingerprint BSOD machine'ed - this text is unreadable, but I saw the word '' parity '' in there. From this point, it went from bad to worse. Connect the external display and try to get the BIOS with the F1 to the ignition, I could see a text there, but it is mostly illegible and overlapping with lots of video noise and the vertical bars cyan, flashing boxes of all colors, etc..

Somehow, I managed to do enough to get the BIOS to switch to the built-in graphics card and was able to boot Windows and install the Intel graphics driver, so the machine is little functional again.

However, go back to "discrete graphics" gives the same problem: no video on the internal LCD screen, only scrambled on the external monitor. If I allow Windows to start with discrete graphics, TI BSOD with an unreadable screen for the most part, but it seems to speak to shut down Windows to avoid damaging the material and the word 'conflict' is here, too.

Configuration: T500 type 2081-CTO, 4 GB RAM, Windows XP SP 3, fully updated with drivers

Display of the BIOS settings (all other settings are default):

    Main default video device: internal

    Initializing display: Thinkpad LCD

: Initially graphics discrete graphics, now integrated Graphics

OS detection for switchable graphics: disabled

I wondered if the bi-ecrans mapped configuration somehow ATI video RAM so that it comes into conflict with the top of that 4 GB of RAM. Remove a 2 GB DIMM has not helped. However, once the machine has restarted successfully with Windows, the ATI driver has not been loaded (as the discreet graphics card has been disabled) and so perhaps all that has been mapped has not been not mapped? However, I expect memory graphic mapping be reset to zero at the start anyway. And since the video is so completely that screwed up at startup, it is resembling more a permanent hardware failure, in which case the machine back under warranty.

Are there any other suggestions on how to proceed?

    Best regards

    -The

The machine came back last Friday - the technology has replaced the video chip, as well as the keyboard, for some reason any. He had also installed Vista x 64; I tried to learn to love it, I really have, but after a few days, I have decided that the benefits outweigh the problems of compatibility, I got with my (admittedly old) version of Lotus Notes. So I reinstalled XP Pro and everything is now back to normal - although I'm not willing to try the external chart again on this machine.

  • T500 and Win 7

I'm curious to know if/when Lenovo T500 will begin to support ThinkVantage applications on the platform of Win 7?

I was wondering which application you want to say. 99% of recently published applications are works perfectly with the T500. For me only the scanner digital (I think it's my fault) and function of graphics card switch (catalyst 9.4 modded works almost, just crashes )

Surprisingly, use native/programs Vista drivers, most of them works. 7 specific updates can be found on: http://www.lenovo.com/windows7beta

-Otherwise, where I can download the required drivers?

-Si W10 does not work on T500, how can I go back to Windows 7? No possibility to continue more away from this error message.

Thread can be closed, because I finally managed to restart Windows 7. Thanks to all the volunteers, think of a solution for my problem as specified above.

  • T500 swtichable fuzzy on external monitor

    Hello

I have a T500 and graphics switchable, updating all the drivers. I'm using a samsung syncmaster 931b monitor attached to a lenovo docking station.

When I use graphics performance, it works fine. When I pass the energy-saving intel, everything becomes blurred. Looks like the resolution is correct, 1280 x 1024. The only unusual thing is that under Advanced settings, the tab says monitor generic pnp monitor, like he doesn't know what type it is.

But even if so, you would think it's such a simple monitor to make it crisp. Has anyone seen this or ideas on what to try?

    Thank you!

    Jim

so nevermind, user error. Necessary to push the auto button on the screen itself.

  • T500 takes 15 minutes to boot after bios update

    symptoms:
It takes about 10 or so minutes to reach the thinkpad press f1 to set up the screen, after that it gives me a screen that tells ME is initializing, it is after an update of the bios and later roll back bios. two updates to the bios give me the same result. functions of sleep also seems to not work, once im in my t500 windows works normally.

    what I did:
In addition to rolling back the drivers Ive unplugged / replugged the cmos battery and off AMT. Ive also ensured that all my drivers are up to date.

machine is a performer of 2081-cto on win7

someone has an idea of what I can do? I still have a warranty but I would like to fix myself so I don't have the time.

  • T500 to T540P migration

I previously did a T500 OS system image and everything. The T500 is on it is the last step. I got a T540P as a replacement but I want to migrate the T500 Image system restore on my T540P.

I know it's doable, because I did it BUT the problem is, I think that downloads. It seems that when I go to update software once the image is done the downloads T540P. (Lenovo PM, display and graphics drivers) where the reboot happens I get to Startng Windows screen and 4 bubbles that get together and then pulses. But it still says here. At least, I stopped after like 30 minutes.

Does anyone know if a picture of the previous system can be made and how?

    Any information is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    davis_mc

    Hello!

Image the whole OS, the T500 and T540p are miles in addition to being compatible, driver-wise.

so an image/cloning your old drive causes a lot of problems and cost you twice as much

a lot of time in repairs for the new system set up from scratch.

For your files and settings, you can use the file transfer tool in Windows, but it is a laminated tool I

personally, don't like. I've seen too many problems with it over the years. He is not trustworthy. But

When it works as it should, it's a really cool and easy tool for such transfers.

A simple copy of your user records in the new machine covers your files, and if there is

settings, e-mail files, bookmarks, you can find them in the AppData folder. Local for Outlook, roaming

    for most other programs.

  • Distortion of sound on T500 problems

    Hi all

I had my T500 now for about 3 months and you have problems with the sound and crackling distortion. It is not obvious when you play, but loading Youtube videos, it is particularly evident. Maybe something to do with interference with the network card, I'm not sure.
I've read that it could be a problem with the Intel ICH9M-E/M SATA AHCI controller, but I can't find the link again.
Any suggestions before I have calling technical support?

I just thought that Id mention a solution to the problem. Lenovo has recently updated the IDE ATA/ATAPI driver for Intel ICH9M/E/M SATA AHCI controller driver. This seems to solve this problem as a stuttering problem I had with my mouse I have ensure that was due to Razer drivers not Lenovo.

  • T61p + Windows 7 64 bits + Intel AMT/drivers.

    Hi all

I recently installed Windows 7 x 64 on my T61p (6459-CTO). I installed the drivers and all devices and market very well except two:

    1. PCI serial port
    2. PCI Simple Communications controller

After a failure to find drivers for these, I googled the question and found that it is most likely associated with Intel AMT. So I tried Windows 7 for Intel AMT drivers for my laptop but I do not see everything.

I have installed and run Lenovo System Update v4 and it doesn't have picked it up while the Lenovo ThinkVantage Toolbox Diagnotics warn that the drivers are missing for 2 devices. However, it is not too show where to find.

There seems to be a lot of posts for the same problem for the models T400/T500 but nothing for the T61p.

    Any help would be appreciated!

I have experienced the same problem and here is my resolution for my t61p running windows 7 x 64:

Download the 2 AMT/drivers on driver lenovo site:

Local administration service and Serial Over LAN (Intel AMT 2.6)
    Windows Vista, XP

    http://www-307.IBM.com/PC/support/site.WSS/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-67881

    Windows Vista, XP

    http://www-307.IBM.com/PC/support/site.WSS/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-67880

Let the files extract to their files (using the downloaded exe files) (C:\drivers\win\amt and \amtsol)

for the PCI Serial Port, indicate the Assistant to update driver to watch in c:\drivers\win\amtsol

for the controller PCI of communication Simple say that it resembles the c:\drivers\win\amt

He must find the missing drivers for you.

  • T500: w7 is black lcd?

    Hello community,

    My first post here.

    I have a T500 2055-5 with 32-bit w7.

The problem I have with this man, is that the screen becomes black after I connect to it.

The LCD works fine when the T500 is turned on, all the way into the log on screen for w7, but after that the journal in it blackens.

The LCD works fine in also integrated security mode.

When I connect to an external monitor (crt) for the t500 I have the same behavior, the external monitor goes black after that I connect to w7.

What can I do to fix this? In integrated security mode I tried to install the latest driver for the Intel chip, but that was not possible.

    My best regards

    Hans

I will try to reinstall the graphics drivers in safe mode. Something may have messed up the GPU drivers.
