DSL modem ethernet connection refuses to 'wake up' the system from hibernation?

My ActionTec dsl modem is driving me crazy - most of the time my system goes to sleep, prolonged wakes up EXCEPT the ethernet connection.  It seems to be the modem itself (previous modem didn't demonstrate this problem) and I have to because the thing to restore the connection.  Is that what I can do to force an awakening?

Examine the advanced properties of your NIC in windows network and make sure that it does not use an energy saving setting.

    Hello

1 re-installing/repairing software will not fix hardware issues.

    2. the operating system upgrade is not the way to solve computer problems that can be carried forward.

3 1. If you use Norton, you should disable Norton inviolable Protection before using System Restore.

  • Cursor starts moving across the screen from left to right after the wake up the computer from standby or hibernation

    Original title: cursor goes wild

My PC to 'wake up' sleep/hibernate, the cursor initially moving across the screen from left to right, in which window is open, destroy all the document is on the screen. I force Windows to close. How to solve this other than turning off standby/hibernation?

Looks like the cursor of the mouse is very sensitive when the computer comes out of standby or hibernation.
I suggest that you go in the mouse properties and lower the sensitivity and see if that helps.
You also need to update any driver mouse if possible.

Let us know if that helps.

How can I get the adapter to work?

Go into Device Manager and uninstall your wired NIC.  do not remove the drivers.  Right-click on the name of your computer (above) and select "Search for hardware changes."  This should re-install the drivers for the network card.

  • How to wake up the computer from sleep

I have a Pavilion HPE h8-1100, 64 bit, Win 7 running. When computer goes to sleep, I have problems, he wake up. I tried different keys but nothing happens. Microsoft says to check the manual of the computer, but I don't see anything in the manual that tells me what to do. I end up turning off the computer.

I found touching the space bar or the 'any' key will sometimes wake him, but if he sleeps soundly, try pressing the power briefly - button not long enough to power it down, just enough to "poke" it.

I put a power of 'Never' option and called "Virus Scan" for when I want to let it run without me fall asleep on me. -otherwise the darn things NAPs more than my dog!

  • How can I fix the very slow response after the wake up the computer from sleep mode?

Never had this problem until a few days ago. Using Windows 7. I want to use the "sleep mode" whenever I leave my office (be it for a few minutes or several hours). Always came back just as I left it (tabs, work-in-progress, etc.) until recently. If I reboot, everything of fine, up to what I use mode "time" again. So painful.

Thanks for the tip. I disabled the accelerator according to your link and suggestions and the problem seems to have been resolved, at least for now!

    Hello

I bought a C50 - A Satellite about 8 months ago. On the first day, I had this problem.

What happens is that when the laptop is turned on for a while, I suppose it goes to sleep or something, not that one light is on hard.

The only way so that he can turn East to remove all power to the laptop and press and hold the power button for a while.
As I said, this has happened since the day I bought and it happened several times a day.

Any help will be much appreciated.

    Thank you

You can disable auto sleep mode in Windows Power Options.

Go to control panel-> Power Options-> change the parameters of the plan
Here, you need to change the option: "Put the computer to sleep"... set to "never"

More I recommend you disable how hybrid closed and to a complete stop.

  • denied access to the c: drive and all the mistakenley of windows programs.i refused my access to the system to my c: drive

    Hello

This afternoon, I tried to install the home group. When I did, I got a message that windows could set up homegroup for this pc. (I'm not sure if this is relevant, but it's the last thing I did with windows before my problems started).
-At the moment when I try to go to c:\, I get an access denied message.
-When I go on c:\Users\Patrick then it shows my files and the directory.
-When I opened a word from this directory document, it works (so I have read access).
-I can't make a new folder in my home directory.
-When I start for the mmc instance get Windows cannot access... 0x800704b3 error code after diagnose I get an error that convenience store could not start error code 0 x 80070005. (it happens with all windows utilities.
-When I start safe mode it restarts after a few seconds (after he show users)
-When I try to activate the account administrator to the command prompt it says access denied.
-When I try to access the settings with the UAC, it does not.
-When I start a normal program (like VS2008) it starts up, when I do as an administrator I get the same error that when im from the mmc.

I have my PC from Vista

Homegroup only works for Win7, Win7. So I don't know what you were doing. Try a system restore to before that you did whatever it is that you did. You can start with your Vista DVD and access to restore the system from there. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

  • How to configure a RV042 behind a DSL Modem?

I have a router RV042 VPN that I try to use VPN in to my computer at home. My House uses a DSL modem to connect to the Internet. How to configure the ADSL modem to connect the router?

The modem is a gateway and I put this bridge mode and changed the router RV042 to PPPoE (according to your instructions) and now I can able to administer the router RV042 from my work computer and get out to the internet from my computer at home, one more step. Now when I try to VPN using PPTP in it connects then drops out me after about 1 minute of sometimes more sometimes less, but never more than a few minutes. I tried to adjust the MTU on the documentation of support, but that did not help. Any thoughts?

Thanks for your help so far

  • Subversion addon - connection refused

    Hi all

    ReadyNAS ultra 2

I installed the addon from rnxtras subversion. Now when I try to the Fund I get connection refused. Here are the steps I followed:

    On the readnas:

    NetgearNAS: / opt # svnadmin create/opt/subversion/SVNTest
    NetgearNAS: / # chown admin:admin/opt/subversion r opt / *.

    On my local machine:

    ~ > svn checkout svn://192.168.1.100/SVNTest
svn: E000111: unable to connect to a repository to the URL "svn://192.168.1.100/SVNTest".
"svn: E000111: could not connect to host" 192.168.1.100 ": connection refused

    I have installed EnableRootSSH.

Any ideas how I can make it work?

Sorry for the late reply, still getting used to the new "forums".

In fact, you were already close. You have successfully created the SVN repo but the correct command to the Fund a repo of the ReadyNAS would

    svn checkout https://192.168.1.100/svn/SVNTest

Two things to note here: to access the Board, use the HTTP or HTTPS protocol, not SVN. And the path to the pension you habe to prefix name of the repo with "/svn/".

When you press the ReadyNAS changes you will have to authenticate using a username/password combination valid, as defined on the ReadyNAS.

  • Windows 7 drops ethernet connection _every_time_ I restart my computer

    Hello

Every time I restart Windows 7, I completely lose my wired ethernet connection. It's not the mistake of bonjour service. It is not a statement simple ipconfig and renew the error. Literally, the system considers that there is no network card in the computer.

The only way it's fixed is to shut down the computer and stop it at the wall and wait for the power flowing. Turn on the power and the computer.

This didn't happen using vista or xp and I have made no changes to any settings.

Can someone please help with this question? If this isn't the case, please tell me who I should be emailing or where I should post this problem is solved.

    Thank you.

Same problem here too! I have the nForce also, Win7 x 64, maybe it's a driver problem. I'll look for some different drivers. I'll inform you guys if I find a solution.

FIX * well I have the Nvidia 590 SLi Mobo, went to nvidia Web site--> download--> product drivers: nForce--> etc. Fill out the fields and got the latest drivers, restarted and BAM! Right droit relie connected to restart, didn't have to toggle controller, looks that Win7 had just taken the wrong drivers when it has been updated. I hope this helps everyone!
