Hi, I have windows 7 home basic.i want to create virtual hot point for wifi but the program is not there.it is to windows 8. until he's I do? Please answer my question

In fact, Windows 7 includes Microsoft virtual wifi miniport map - which can be used to create a "virtual hotspot.

First of all, make sure that you have the current driver for your wireless card.  If you have a computer of 'brand', go to the computer manufacturer's web site, enter the information requested on your model and find the correct driver.  Download and install the driver if it is newer than the one currently installed.

  • Connection failed "launch system" distance DRAC5

the details of the server are:

Server: windows Server 2003, Enterprise edition (pe) 1950

RAC: DRAC 5, material A00, 1.33 firmware (did not see newer versions on the dell site)

-I can connect and send the DRAC GUI (remote and on the server)

-First, I selected the console tab, I was prompted to install an activex plug-in virtual kvm

-J' have installed, disconnected from the DRAC, reconnected with success, but when you try to connect to the console via "console redirection" the session Viewer returns an informational message 'connection impossible, impossible to connect to the device, due to network problem '.

-It doesn't seem to matter what version of IE, the client is using (I tried IE7 and IE6)

I saw an older post with a similar problem, but suggested that the problem was solved by upgrading the firmware of the DRAC to 1.32 (it would be a version of what I have in place)

  • HA and DRS

I want to confirm something I've heard which seems to contradict what I've learned in the classroom.   If the DRS and HA are implemented on a cluster AND the failure of an ESX Server, the virtual machines on the host CAN live migrate to another host?    I was told in class that VMs will be always powered down if HA is implemented.  So which is true?

In addition, if the DRS and HA have been implemented on a cluster and we will say I pull the plug on an ESX host... it is not enough time to migrate VMs live, so I'm inclined to believe that's NOT true.

Let me see if I can summarize-------.

HA - protects you in the event of a failure of the host - if a host fails (you pull the plug) the virtual machines running on this host will restart on the other nodes in the cluster and if DRS is activated it then make sure that virtual machines draw their resources. The way the cluster hosts know that they are alive is by the HA heartbeat if heart rate is not detected a host of the cluster think the host has failed, but he could not because of network problems - host is then described as being isolated but not bencessaryily down, so virtual machines on it are still running - the cluster tries to restart virtual machines but not power because the VMDK will be locked - this is where isolation answer comes to you can get the Power Down the VMs host to the HA cluster to restrt them (moving) or let them powere gift there is no failure (where they are). VMotion and DRS has nothing to do with VMware HA-

FT - whicxh is a feature of the Enterprise Plus can have NO downtime in the event of a failure of the host and also protects from the questions of the o/s and - if there is a failure that the VM mirroring resumes instantly with no downtime of fault tolerance.

If you find this or any other answer useful please consider awarding points marking the answer correct or useful

  • Hot add option missing from all virtual machines.

I'm under esx4.0, with all kinds of guest virtual machines (2003, 2008, 2008r2, std, ent, x 64). I don't have the option add hot for one of these clients.  It is simply absent on options & gt; Advanced tab.  What am I misssing here?

    Thank you.

It will show only if it is an option for the operating system for some versions it won't be there.  Also, what version of material are your virtual machines?  Must be version 7 I think.

  • -Plug hot CPU and memory

    Hello.

I'll try the new features of vSphere and have a double with the addition of a CPU or memory to a virtual machine while it is running.

First of all, Microsoft said that only the data center itanium editions and supports the addition of hot CPU, but I found some forums who say they did the test with other editions as standard or enterprice, is this posible?

    http://www.Microsoft.com/windowsserver2008/en/us/R2-compare-specs.aspx

    http://www.Microsoft.com/windowsserver2003/evaluation/features/comparefeatures.mspx

I tried with a windows server 2008 standard x 64 and when I added a CPU Device Manager shows me 2 CPUs, but the Task Manager doesn't show one and when I added to that memory, the Task Manager shows no change, but Device Manager shows the new memory module with an alert.

When I restart the virtual machine to the new hardware configuration worked well.

If windows does not support hot branch of CPU and memory in the data center and itanium editions, why is the option available (when we edit a virtual machine) for other editions as standard?

    Thank you...

Here is a good list which has been implemented and seems to be fairly well validated.  But the result is, it has windows and a restart could never hurt.

  • Feature suggestion: virtual disk via USB hot

I suggested this feature in VMWARE 2 years, I had not seen this be taken seriously. But I insist it is very useful and would it make Workstation & other products much more powerful convinent server for users.

Essentially now existing virtual disks cannot be ADDED to a virtual machine as an IDE or SCSI drive, this must be done after the virtual machine is stopped. Thus, it is not hot.

The equvilant material action REAL hot plug is to plug your physical hard drive via a SATA to USB adapter and connect to PC and PC will detect a new USB dive. For a VITURAL Machine, I takes VMWARE to write a function to CONNECT a virtual disk available (all files hard) in a VM running via the USB interface.

VMplayer and workstations can now connectable to warm physical USB readers of thumb, but not no virtual disks, it's a shame. It would be a feature very very handy and popular because there are so many things, that you can do with it.

Without this feature, users will have to turn off the virtual machine and fix the existing virtual disks and then after use, turn off again to remove them.

Attachable to hot only saves a lot of time.

I mean WHY NOT? VMWARE should really consider this, I hope.

    u.y.

What guest operating system do you use?

What version of virtual hardware is configured?

  • Cannot hot plug WD 3 TB USB 3.0 hard drive in the desktop HP h8 - 1360t

I received my new h8 - 1360t HP Office on 31 July. The OS is Windows 7 Home Premium boot from SSD. It seems to be a very good computer except for one problem: it does not recognize my WD "My Book Essential" 3 TB USB 3.0 external drive into a USB port unless the reader is connected then the computer is turned off.

Even after that I turned on the HP with the connected drive and it is recognized, if I remove and connect then to postpone, the drive appears in Windows Explorer or Windows disc maintenance.

Windows seems to know that I'm hot plugged a USB 3.0 device, because if I plug the drive into a USB 2.0 port, a bubble message on the screen saying I could get better performance by using a USB 3.0 port.

The car worked fine with my old Dell Vista 32-bit office and is recognized every time that I plug it into the USB 3.0 port on my Asus laptop (also running Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit).

HP recognises my other two drives from WD USB 3.0, a 500 GB and a 2 TB, when I'm hot their connection. I tried to use the cable from the drive 2 TB with 3 TB drive, but nothing has changed.

The Win 7 WD SES driver is the latest version, as is the firmware of the drive 3 TB.

I would like any suggestions to solve this problem.

    UPDATE:

I have tried my external drives in several ports and find that they are sometimes recognised and sometimes not.  Sometimes, they do not appear in Windows Explorer or disk management, but are listed when I click the icon remove the device safely. Now, whenever I turn on the computer with the 3 TB drive plugged into a USB 3.0 port, the drive is recognized but I see the message that says: I would get better performance if I used a USB 3.0 port.  USB on this machine seems seriously screwed.

I did the factory image recovery and my WD external drives seem to work perfectly with the computer now.

Thanks for the link to the CMOS resets information. It may be useful if I have other problems.

  • Reference Dell MD3220 virtual disk - hot spare in use

We have a Dell MD3220.  one of the hard drives was taken out by an end-user trying to exchange a defective disc. Then after that the good player has replaced the old drive was placed back into the appropriate slot. Now we have a hot spare (enclosure 0, slot 23) in lieu of an another hot spare (attachment 2, slot 22). The hot spare that is subbed for has been replaced by two new hard drives now and the hot spare in use has still not disappeared. any suggestions on what to do next?

Virtual disk - hot spare in use

    Storage array: MD3220
    Disk group: 2
Physical disk failure in the: attachment 2, slot 22
         Action (deletion) enabled service:  NO.
LED of action on service component:  NO.
Replaced with a physical disk to: enclosure 0, slot 23
      Virtual disks: 3
         RAID level: 5
         Status:  Gradient

    Hello, GalaxyTechService.

It is perhaps not as complicated as it may seem, in fact. There is a wizard that you can use to return the disk to the raid set. Right-click the affected virtual disk and select 'Replace physical disk' and use the wizard that opens.

In the upper area will be "missing disks", and in the lower field will be options available to replace them.

    Then just follow the steps.

Let me know how it goes.

  • Cloning virtual machines with database hot?

    Hello-

I'm about to start a clone of a virtual machine from Windows running MySQL, and I wonder if I can hot clone the source machine with the database running services. Or is the recommendation to stop database services before the clone?

    TIA.

My recommendation is to stop the prior service of the clone process database start since I'm not sure if VSS will work for MySQL as works FRO MS SQL.

  • Change of that flag - hot virtual CPU add

    Hello

I'm trying to build an application that will add/remove of CPU and memory to a machine virtual a VApp.

I currently have the code to add.

What I need is to understand the options 'Add a virtual CPU hot' and 'Hot-memory add' how to define those who through the API? And do I need to change in order to add new CPU/memory?

    Thank you

    Hen

    Hi Henrique,

Basically the virtual CPU/memory hot add means that modifing the number of CPU / memory of the virtual machine, the virtual machine is running.

In the API, you don't need to set options to do - simply start the virtual machine and to try to change - even as usual editing operation.

Note that are are some requirements to perform "HOT ADD" operations, so if some of the requirements is not fullfilled "hot add" operation will fail. For example, this feature is added in VC 4.0, so the version of the VC on which runs the cloud must be at least 4.0 VC. For other requirements on the add feature hot, you can refer to the location of the following link:

    http://www.simonlong.co.uk/blog/2009/12/09/VMware-hot-add-memory-CPU-support/?utm_source=FeedBurner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=feed%3A+Simonlong%2Fblog+%28SLOG+-+SimonLong%2FBlog%29

I hope this helps! Please write if you have questions.

    Kind regards

  • Help with Script to add Hot CPU/Mem to large number of virtual machines

So I found these two functions of http://ict-freak.nl/2009/10/05/powercli-enabledisable-the-vm-hot-add-features/comment-page-1/#comment-14664

    He

seems to be only for a unique virtual machine, but I need to set up

their making hundreds of multiple servers.  Is it possible to implement

    foreach ($vm to $devVMs)

    $devVMs = c:\listofvms.txt

    in

the script to point to a list of virtual machines, such as a list of Windows 2008 64-bit

VMs, vms 32 bit Windows 2003 as another list etc. instead of making a virtual machine

    at the same time.

The two functions are for features to add memory to warm and the VM OS per CPU.

    Function Enable-MemHotAdd ($vm) {$vmview = Get - vm $vm |} Get-view$ vmConfigSpec = New-Object VMware.Vim.VirtualMachineConfigSpec$ extra = New-Object VMware.Vim.optionvalue$ extra. Key = "MEM.hotadd" $extra. Value = "true" $vmConfigSpec.extraconfig += $extra$ vmview. ReconfigVM ($vmConfigSpec)}

    Function Enable-vCpuHotAdd ($vm) {$vmview = Get - vm $vm |} Get-view$ vmConfigSpec = New-Object VMware.Vim.VirtualMachineConfigSpec$ extra = New-Object VMware.Vim.optionvalue$ extra. Key = "vCPU.hotadd" $extra. Value = "true" $vmConfigSpec.extraconfig += $extra$ vmview. ReconfigVM ($vmConfigSpec)

    }

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

You can save this script in a .ps1 file.

After have connected you to the vCenter (Connect-VIServer), you run the script from the prompt PowerCLI.

    .\myscript.ps1

It will read all the guestnames that you stored in the .txt file and for each of these calls to the function.

If you need to address another group of guests you modify the contents of the .txt file and run the script again.
