DV6-2150us RAM module config?

Trying to find if the 4 GB of RAM installed came 1 x 4 or 2 x 2.  Would like to move to 8 GB, and if it came 1 x 4, I have to only fill the empty Bank with a single 4 GB module.  I would not walk rather my teens grace the cover and tell me what she sees

Hi, Leslie:

A less invasive method which is to run the tool to scan free Crucial memory.

He will examine your laptop and report how much and what type of memory you need, and it will show which banks are filled or empty and with the amount of memory.

So, here the link to the service manual so that there will be no guesswork required for installation of the memory.

    Hello

I wasn't able to find any information modules RAM work for my DV6-7180se in order to level 6 (already installed) GB to 8 GB or 16 GB.

I'd be happy if someone could tell me what kind of RAM module is necessary and work. I think that 1x4Go and 1x2GB is currently inside the laptop.

    Thanks, Andreas

Your laptop supports up to 16 GB

You may consider to use CPU - Z to find the specifications of the installed 4GB memory module. You will need to replace the two modules to upgrade to 8 GB as mixture module brands\and module types is known for don't produce the bad guy no problem starting.

  • Pavilion dv6: upgrading RAM for HP Pavilion dv6

    Hello

I want to upgrade the memory of my laptop. It has 4 GB (2x2gb). I want to move to 8 GB or 16 GB, if possible. I found some RAM modules on newegg.com such as this one - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820139976 - I wonder if it will be compatible with my laptop. Here are some features of the system:

-Model: HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC

    -Processor: Intel Core i7-2630QM CPU @ 2.00GHz

    -RAM: 4 GB

    -System type: 64-bit operating system

You do not give us the model exactly but dv6 with processors Intel Core gen 2d max to 8 gigs. 3rd and 4th generation can take 16.

The type of memory that you have linked works perfectly... but not the 2 x 4 GB modules, 8 modules of concert. Also note how the picture shows 8 black blocks on the side of the memory... get the modules like this, not with 4 blocks. The speed is correct. DDR3-1333.  Let us know if you need help most.

  • Satellite Pro C50-A-1E4 running unstable with new RAM modules

I have the above machine and that you have upgraded the RAM (up to 8 GB) a long while ago. Normally I have upgraded the BIOS if there is a new version.

However, for some so that my machine was unstable, and this is due to the RAM running at the XMP1866 of the machine (933 MHz) instead of the rated CPU 1600 (800 MHz). I have attached a screengrab of Piriform Speccy to report.

There is no 1.40 BIOS UEFI framework to adjust the RAM timing and so BIOS supports data SPD incorrectly for CPU ID.

I'm unable to locate earlier BIOS to check if this pattern is repeated, but it took more than a year to display fault so that the machine is out of warranty. If I put small sticks of RAM 1600 system seems stable.

However, I bought the RAM to use. Now I am unable to test if RAM is faulty because she will not pass Memtest (blocking or crash on) but I'm not sure if instability of the system is defective cause of system being OC because of the BIOS or RAM.

The question that he is perfectly for about a year before displaying the errors. BIOS should correctly detect the speed of JEDEC standard data in the EEPROM. He does not. I often ran "overspec' memory in other PC without encountering this behavior. It is only troubleshooting that made me aware of this gap.

    RAM is Crucial Ballistix 8 GB-1866 BLS8G3N18AES4CEU.16FE

If I put small sticks of RAM 1600 system seems stable.

I doubt that it is a BIOS problem...
First of all, you can not use any module of RAM... you must use a fully compatible modules and as you probably know, not all commercially available RAM modules are fully compatible.

As far as I know if upgrading RAM that Toshiba recommends the use of these modules.

    4 GB DDR3 - 1600 PA5037U-1M4G
    8 GB DDR3-1600 PA5037U-1M8G

    The specifications are:
    Memory speed: 1600 Mhz PC3-12800
    Capacity: 8GB
    Pins: 204 SODIMM
    Type of RAM: DDR3 SODIMM
    Rank: Rank double
    Latency (CL) CASES: CL11
    Voltage: 1.5V

I recommend you use the modules that meet exactly the same specifications.

  • Satellite C70-C-199 - dual channel mode is not active for RAM modules

    Hello

I recently bought a Satellite C70-C-199 laptop with 4 GB RAM and I installed a module of RAM 4 GB more.
The module I installed is not recognized by the BIOS.

    What I tried:
    (1) replace the Rams repeatedly.
    (2) exchanging the two Rams between the two slots.
    (3) BIOS update to the latest version

On the link down below, you will find some reports AIDA64 that contains details on the chipset and the two RAM modules.

I found the problem. This laptop needs DDR3L. This means that the RAM modules operating at 1.35v. My 4 GB Kingston works only at 1.5V.

  • Satellite L30-149 - does not start with the new RAM modules

I bought RAM Kingston 2 x 1 GB modules. When I put a single module in my notebook - everything works fine. When I put the two modules - BIOS freezes and cannot start.

I tried to combine my old module of 512 MB with 1 GB of Kingston, but in this case laptop detects only more great module (Kingston). So, I'm stuck with only 1 GB of RAM. In my notebook BIOS version is 3.10, and it's the last. I tested RAM modules in a laptop and each of them works fine.

What should I do now? Help, please!

Download and run www.memtest.org Memtest to test these Modules one by one.

  • What Ram modules are used in the Satellite Pro L870 18R

    HYA

I m new to this forum so apologies if I posted in the wrong place.
I just bought a Sat Pro L870 18R for my wife as a Christmas pressy.
Before she gets to him I was going to increase the Ram of 4 GB to 8 GB.

I know he has a single stick of ddr3 1600 Mhz in it, but without opening it you know which manufacturer to use Ram Tosh for this machine?

I like to keep the same manufacturer.
If I can at least give him a chance to run dual channel. I know I couldn't just take part and look like I m going to have to open it to adapt to the new ram anyway.

I just i didn t want to keep o he packing and unpacking, and opening and closing upward are a gift after all lol.

    Any help appreciated thnk

Above all the RAM brand is very important to get the RAM running in dual channel.
It is important that the two RAM modules will support the same features.

As far as I know the unit was equipped with a SO-DIMM 4 GB RAM DDR3 1600 module MHz (PC3-12800). I guess the reference is: * PA3918U-1M4G *.

    Welcome them

  • Portege Z930 cannot start with installed RAM module

My laptop Toshiba Portege Z930-108 has stopped booting with any module of RAM installed in the support.

If I remove RAM module, laptop computer starts and works fine, but if I install any module of RAM (4 GB 1600 original or a new 4 1600 CL9 or 1600 8 CL11) the computer cannot start.

The screen stays black and power led flashing two green and two orange and a few seconds later, 3G indicator also on blue.

This is the only problem I have with this computer, but it's strange.

I updated the BIOS to the latest version and the problem is not resolved.

I tried to reset the hardware (http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB3B03J90000R01.htm), also I tried to reset the equipment with power button 30 seconds without battery but button without success.

Any idea on this problem of strage?

    Kind regards

I guess you used bad RAM or not fully compatible modules.
    It's the only plausible explanation.

I recommend you to order the RAM modules recommended by Toshiba that are:

    4 GB DDR3 - 1600 PA5037U-1M4G

    2 GB DDR3 - 1600 PA5037U-1M2G

  • Tecra S3 - cannot use the new RAM modules in the B slot

    Hi all

I just bought two RAM modules of 1 GB to replace my old 512 MB one. This, as far as I know, is the maximum allowed by my Toshiba Tecra S3 (PTS30E-01000QSP).

When I put a module in A slot, the machine works perfectly; If I place a second in location B, the computer tries to start but, at a time given, it freezes just (no activity of the HARD drive or changes on the screen) and the fun begins racing on as if some process crashes in the CPU to heat that make it up. At this point, I was always afraid that the heat can damage the computer and be turned off by pressing the on/off switch, so I can't tell if the problem is solved simply waiting.

I swapped the two modules on A slot and the two work well when they are the only one on the machine. Pretty funny if I place (as is the case now) has the old 512 MB in the location B as well as a single module of 1 GB in slot, it works!

My BIOS has been upgraded to the last, that I could find in these same pages (version 3.20 if I'm not mistaken), but it made no difference. If I enter the page of the BIOS when the two 1 GB modules are present, the BIOS recognizes that they are there. This behavior occurs when I try to start Windows or Linux.
Honestly, I'm puzzled. Someone has an idea what can happen and how I could place the two modules on my machine?

Thank you very much and sorry for the long post

    O.

    Hello

The modules you purchased exactly for your Tecra S3? Maybe that they are not compatible with the laptop and it hangs after a few minutes.

Normally, the Tecra S3 can handle up to 2 GB and that means 1 GB in each slot. For modules of Toshiba part number is PA3411U-1M1G.

In my opinion you should try it with other modules with original 512 MB module everything works so I guess your new RAM is the cause of this problem.

  • is there a fuse for this laptop? is the computer pavilion dv6-2150us laptop

Is the power supply for the pavilion dv6-2150us originally?

Remove the main battery and connect the AC adapter and try it turn. It is safe to do so.

If that doesn't work try a hard reset as follows:

Remove the battery and unplug the DC power adapter.
Press and hold the power button for more than 15 seconds.
Plug the DC power adapter (leave the battery for now)
    Press the power button

  • RAM-modul third manufactor warranty

    Hello

does anyone know if there is a statement from Toshiba that the use of the third-party ram modules does not affect the warranty of the computer?
Thank you very much for your answers!

    Greetings from the Germany

AFAIK this document doesn't exist. Is that you can upgrade RAM alone without service and it won't affect valid warranty. Toshiba offers the list of compatible and tested RAM modules and if you use them they will be recognized correctly and everything will be OK.

Of course, no one forcing you to use these modules. On the open market, you can buy what you want. Only, it can happen that you will buy some modules at low cost, without a name and will not work properly.

So, buy what you want. For RAM check upgrade s manual where you can find exact explanation step by step how to put new modules in the RAM slots.

    Good bye

  • Satellite A300 - a RAM module will not work

    Hello guys,.

6-8 months ago, I had a terrible accident with my laptop, I spilled:(coffe là-dessus.) Initially it has worked very well, but after a few days I just couldn't start it. When I pressed the power button, 'satellite' logo turned on, I could hear the fan but the HARD drive would not start. Tryied to clean and finally he started to :)

Then from time to time (each is approximately 40 days) it does not start and what I've found, is that the RAM slot near the motherboard has a problem. When I remove the RAM from the slot, it works very well (but with 2 GB instead of 3 GB). A few days later, I put the second RAM and reworked for the next 40 days. Even in this way, I was satisfied after what had happened (the accident of coffee).

The problem is that the same thing happened about 1 month ago but still every time I insert the second RAM I get the black screen, fan works and nothing more (with 1 memory it still works). Is it possible that the slot 2 is now dead, after 6 months of a semi-travail condition? Do you know how to clean it? or do something else?

I changed the 2 RAM in both slots and I'm sure that the work of two Ram.

Thank you and I would appreciate your help as I am a student and I use a lot of Matlab (it takes forever with only 2 GB of RAM)

    Hi creative1,.

I think that it s not easy to say which is the main reason for this problem. Theoretically, it could be caused by the coffee that you reversed but it could also be another reason. In my view, that such a precise diagnosis can be done from an authorized service provider.

The memory modules that you are using? Two of the ASP and pre-tested modules?

Modules of RAM, you can test with special software of diagnosis than Memtest86. If the RAM modules are faulty, Memtest86 should acknowledge mistakes. It would be interesting to try.

In the worst cases, the second location of memory is faulty. If the bars of memory work in the first place it seems to be the case :(

  • The maximum dimensions are listed for RAM modules in the absolute QuickSpes?

I get around 8000 elite at very good price. I want to use for training at home, running App-V in Windows Server. The quickspecs say the maximum size RAM module for this computer is 4 GB. Is it absolute or 8 GB user modules that I can?

    Hello:

The maximum size memory module that can be installed in every dwelling is 4 GB.

The first PC to elite 8xxx that could take a module memory 8 GB is the 8200 elite.

I know because I have both an Elite 8000 and a 8200 Elite with the memory maxed out at 16 and 32 GB respectively.

  • Satellite L755-16U - BSOD with an additional RAM module

    Hello everyone.

I bought my toshiba Satellite L755-16U nearly 4 years ago.

This year I decided to buy more memory for my 4 GB,
I bought Kingston SODIMM DDR3-1333 4096 MB PC3-10600 because they have the same characteristics. Since then occasionally

BSOD began to take place. I don't know why.

I checked my drive with chkdsk and checked my memory with memtest86 - no error.
Separately, the two work well in different locations. I'm desperate.

Should I buy another a kingstone and try to put in 2 kingstones memories or what should I do?

    Hello

According to specifications of the laptop, your machine can handle with 8 GB of RAM, so you can use 2 4 GB of RAM modules.
Compatible 4 GB of RAM has PA3918U-1M4G part number. Part number of Kingston for this RAM module is KTT - S3B / 4G.
That's all I can say on the upgrade memory.
