DV7-6C95DX: RECOVERY DISK STALLS

A FIRST TIME FOR EVERYTHING - BEGAN TO RUN RECOVERY FOR WINDOWS 10 BACK WINDOWS 7 REQUESTED BY A CUSTOMER - BOUGHT GAME DISCS OF HP A WHILE AGO - FORMATS THE HD QUICKLY STARTS TO LOAD FILES, BUT STOPS AT 8% - SOMETIMES CAN OPEN THE DRIVE TRAY AND CONTINUE BUT GETS 15% AND ITS MORE - BEGAN MORE THAN 3 - 4 TIMES - NO LUCK - CHANGED DISK - NOT CHANCE - CHANGED AT A DISK NEW - NO LUCK - CLEANED THE DISKS - LAST RESORT NOW IS TO ORDER A NEW SET OF DISK - SEE WHAT HAPPENS - ANOTHER THING THAT DO?

A OUT 4GB - NOW TO THE ORIGINAL 8 GB OF RAM - NOT GOOD - COPY THE FILES FAIL @ 3.4.8.19% AND CONTINUE TO RUN BUT REPEATED 19% - 5 TIMES - KEPT RUNNING BUT NEVER ADVANCED?

A NEW DAY TODAY - VERY FRUSTRATING - GOT A NEW SET OF RECOVERY JUST TO GET COMPARATIVE ADVICE - DISKS SHOULD HAVE SAVED MY MONEY - HOLD 5%

COME TO THINK BACK - ONE OF MY FRIENDS SAID SHE HAD A DISC WITH (OFFICE 2010) ON THIS SUBJECT AND THIS MACHINE WOULD NOT READ - MACHINES IN HIS OFFICE ALL CAN READ ITS DISC - WITH WHAT SHE SAID AND I RAN TWO DIFFERENT SETS OF RECOVERY DISKS THAT THIS MACHINE IS READING DISKS BADLY OR NOT AT ALL

SUMMARY OK - HD AND RAM ARE GOOD - I CHANGED THE DRIVE OPTICS AND RETURN - NEW SET OF RECOVERY DISCS - NO DIFFERENCE - I'M NOW TRY AGAIN - THE DRIVE WAS RUNNING AND 15 MINUTES, WE GOT 3%

IT JUST AINT WORKIN-

+++++++++++++++++++UPDATE++++++++++++++++

HAS NOT BEEN GIVEN UP BY A LONG SHOT - SATURDAY RESUMED RECOVERY AND AFTER STARTING FROM A FEW TIMES I GOT A MESSAGE THAT SAYS NO START (FROM THE OPTICAL DRIVE) SO IT SEEMS THAT THIS DRIVE WORKED SOMETIMES (REASON POSSIBLE FOR STALLS?) IN ANY CASE PUT IN A NEW DISK AND STARTED RUNNING A NEW RECOVERY SESSION AND I SAT THERE AND BABY SIT FAILS IT EVERY SATURDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING. (GOD KNOWS WHY IT TOOK all afternoon AND EVENING to GET 58% FILE COPY SO I CONTINUED SUNDAY AND a BIT FAILS BUT SO SLOW-)

SUNDAY - A LARGE PART OF THE SAME THING BUT WE ARE STILL GOING - ON MONDAY ITS DONE

PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE AND I TELL ANYONE WHO IS RUNNING RECOVERY - IF IT SAYS WAIT - WAIT

PS I RAN QUITE AFVEW RECOVERY SESSIONS BUT NEVER REMEMBER THE 3 DAYS TO MAKE

  • HP pavilion dv7-6b55dx recovery disk

    Hi all

I have a hp Pavilion dv7-6b55dx hard drive failed.  Fairly easy to install a new hard drive, but its been a bit more difficult to find any kind of information recovery disk.  The laptop has a hand, and we only had a very short time. Ever created of my own restore disks (I know, I know).  It used Windows 7 Home premium 64-bit.

I can't find anything on the HP site regarding recovery assistance, its seems that my camera is no longer supported.  I spoke with Microsoft, although the Windows product key is always on the computuer itself, they said I have to buy a new operating system on their part.  And then even after that, I guess I would have to update the other pilot material as well and may require some sort of recovery disk?  I've been on the HP site, it doesn't seem to be another option to pay to speak with someone, and at this point, I'm afraid that I would pay to hear that there nothing more they can do.

If you can't tell from my post, I'm not the most computer-savvy person.  I searched online for ideas and found no too.  Most other suggestions are a few years now and do not seem to apply more.  Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated!

  • Dv7 - 7333cl envy: Boot Device not found (3FO) after 8 of Windows Restalling of recovery disks

    Hello

The hard drive on my dv7 desire - 7333cl just died after upgrading my windows 8.1 to 10. I bought a new SSD and I replaced the drive. I could not find the recovery discs, that I did when I got the PC, so I ordered new HP according to the recommendations of other threads with the understanding that they would be able to reinstall windows on the new drive.

Given the shipping time would take a long time, until I tried to reinstall Windows 8.1 using the file .iso Windows 8.1 image official of Microsoft. It seemed to install properly, read the product automatically key and everything, but I could not get the machine to start, so I decided to wait for the HP recovery discs.

Well I had the disc a few days ago and reinstalled the original image on the new drive. Problem is that when the computer reboots, I get error no matter what I try. The errors vary according to which of the steps I tried below, but I was never able to start Windows, except once when the Windows 8 BSOD loops and restarts automatically before I can even read.

Here are the steps I've already tried:

-Performed a hard reset (power adapter and battery removed, taking the power for 30 seconds button)

-Run the diagnostic system HP based on the SSD (spent) and memory (spent)

-Secure boot disabled (and re-enabled, cleared the keys, keys reloaded, etc.)

    -Enabled legacy support (and disabled)

-Bios reset to original settings (F9) is then repeat above steps in various orders

-Reinstalled two times more than original image

At this point, I was wondering if the drive has not been formatted from the recovery disk and multiple files to start causing problems, so I started in Parted Magic with UBCD and reformatted the entire hard drive (0 s to write to disc) and again reinstalled original image. Still nothing so I told all the steps above in random orders to try to turn it on.

If I start in the boot options, I can see the SSD, but it still won't start. Does anyone have more ideas for me to try? The fact that it passes all the tests and that it is running the Linux of Parted Magic environment suggests that everything works fine, but for some reason any Boot file does not load.

Did I lose money on the HP recovery discs and he just bought my own Windows OEM license?

I'm going crazy trying to figure this out. I am relatively experienced with the PC, but it's my first time work with the architecture of the UEFI Windows 8 so maybe there is something obvious that I'm missing?

    Thanks for any help.

    FINALLY SUCCESS!

After a lot of frustration and several reboots, partitions, reinstall, and trips to Best Buy, that I care to remember I'm typing this from my stable work feel LIKE to the point Windows 8.1. Currently 10 Windows to download and install all updates, but everything seems to be stable.

To make a long story short:

-Be sure to carefully read the product manual

I never would have guessed that this system would support only a 160 or 180 GB SSD. If I had of known that I would have probably never had any serious problems.

-Instead of order recovery HP discs just to download the ISO of Windows 8

I'm not the first person to have problems with these discs (search this forum for the many complaints), so unless desperately want the included HP tools and bloat, just to get a file from Microsoft (FREE!). There is no reason why it shouldn't work and I wish I would have went with my gut here and saved a bit of money.

-Be persistent if you can't find the question

I was told, many people, that the machine was bricked up. At that time, I was obsessed with the implementation because no one could tell me why it would not.

Thanks for reading! And if you encounter a similar error, good luck.

  • Recovery disk works does not after replacing hard drive Pavilion dv7

Hello. I have problems of replacement of a failed hard drive in my HP Pavilion dv7-6154nr notebook running Windows 7. New HARD drive seems to install OK, but I get a Windows Boot Manager error when I try to run the recovery disks created when the system was purchased. The message says "the boot selection failed because a required device is not accessible" "status: Oxc000000f. I changed the boot order in the BIOS to boot from the internal DVD player but continue to make the same mistake

More info: I upgraded the HARD drive from a Toshiba MK6476GSX - 640 GB - 5400 RPM for a WD Black 7500BPKTSP.  I don't see any info in the new HARD drive in system information / BIOS so I don't know if it is recognized. However, it take and pass a diagnostic test.

I tried using the recovery discs I got to the store, I bought the computer before taking it home, and they failed. They replaced the hard drive, saying: that was the problem, but do not partition. Can I use the recovery disk, they made me, if are good restore the laptop back to factory new?  I know he will place the operating system Windows 7 Home back on the computer, but I want that all return provided with computer programs. I'll be able to upgrade the Professional operating system? I have a HP Pavilion dv7 and my agreement now bad hard drive to the Geek squad. My problem is that I'm not able to find my recovery disc and HP has no more of them. Do you know where I could buy the recovery disk?

    The official win7 ISO images can be downloaded here;

    http://www.w7forums.com/official-Windows-7-SP1-ISO-image-downloads-t12325.html

You download the version installed on your HP, burn a dvd using ISO, software, the burning at the slowest speed, on quality discs, then install it using the Win Key on the label on your PC.

You will then need to install specific drivers of HP, not of the preinstalled HP software will be at your disposal

  • Envy of HP dv7: upgrade of manufacturing after Win10 recovery disks

After the upgrade to win 8 ot win 10, can I followed the original instructions to create a new set of recovery disks?

    Hello

HP Recovery Manager only allows you to create 1 set of recovery media for the original operating system supplied with machine.

However, there is another option, you can use.

As long as the current installation of Windows 10 has activated Ok after upgrade from 8.1, you can create any media that will allow you to perform a new installation of Windows 10 If you need.

For a guide on creating it, see the following link.  Note: If you use this option to perform a clean installation of Windows 10, to the activation screen, select "I don't have a product key" - Windows will activate automatically once installation is complete.

    Hello:

If you live in the USA/Canada, call HP at this number to order a set of recovery disks.

    1-800-334-5144

Here's the catch... of Professional PC HP (at least those I've owned or possessed), you get a 2-4-disc set that you have to install in the order, and they install the operating system and drivers automatically.

In other words, it is not a separate operating system disk and driver disk.

A game normally costs about $10 shipped by first class mail.

  • Recovery disk does not work?

Good then last week, I ordered a system recovery kit, as in somehow the part in my Pavilion dv7 was damage / deleted. Today, it happens so I did what he told me to do in the book which basically said "use recovery manager, insert the 1 system recovery disk into the optical drive then shut down and turn off the computer" I've done all those, and when he told me to turn on my computer, so I turned it on and nothing happened? He said that when I turn on the computer, the Recovery Manager should have started, but it didn't so I don't know what to know, my laptop has not guaranteed plus. Help, please

    Hello

At this point, the recovery has not started. To start the process, follow these steps. I'm not on the computer you have to this point, but I would like to give you some basic steps to start the process of recovery of the disc.

1: turn on the computer, and then insert the first recovery disc in the drive.

2: Press and hold the power button to turn off the computer.

3: disconnect all cables and devices such as readers of personal media, USB drives, printers and faxes.

    4: turn on the computer.

5: immediately, press the ESC key several times, once per second, until a Menu start or Select boot device menu opens.

6: selections that you do vary slightly depending on the type of menu that appears on your screen:

If a menu select Boot Device displays, upward or down arrow to select the CD/DVD drive and then press ENTER to continue.

If a Boot Menu appears, press F9 to open "Boot Menu", or "Boot Device Options '. The top or down arrow to select the CD/DVD drive. And then press ENTER.

7: a window may appear and invite you to choose to run Recovery Manager from the drive hard or for the inserted disc. If this window appears, select program to disk , and then click Next .

Follow the instructions on the screen and you will be able to perform the restore on the computer.
