  Have you checked if the WOL is enabled in the network card settings?
  Do you know how to check this?

  Go to the Device Manager, expand network adapter s and mark LAN card.
  Then, go to the properties of the network adapter and check the Advanced tab.

  There are a lot of different settings and a configuration option must refer to the WOL.

  AFAIK Equium M50 (PSM53) will be supported for Vista, but obviously the drivers aren't ready to download. Try to find the ALPS driver somewhere on the Internet.

  I have a laptop TECRA S5-10 X with windows XP (downgraded from Vista)

  My computer has trouble dealing with discs not burnt from the interface of microsoft. Make a right click on the drive takes more than 20 seconds to answer.   I think you should try to remove the top and lowerfilters as Akuma said. This often solves problems with the CD/DVD drive.

  In the worst case, you must reinstall Windows.
  You also have this problem only with XP or Vista?

  I doubt that it is a hardware problem so reinstall Windows could solve it.

  You have reinstalled Windows using the Toshiba Recovery disk?

  Normally, you can play DVDs with Windows media player and so you n t need additional software or driver.
  Also, I prefer VLC media player. This little player can play audio and video files more and its freeware.

  If you need a codec pack that you should search with Google K-Lite Mega Codec Pack. It is very good ;)

  The LCD screen and the motherboard are the more expensive parts that are used in the laptop. I na? not know if Toshiba parts are more expensive. I guess it depends on the features of the laptop.

  However, the new motherboard is very expensive and I think that the search for unity of second hand with the motherboard isn't a bad idea.

The CD player is not long represented on the 'My Computer' to readers list. The CD drive appears in Device Manager. I tried to roload the driver for CD drive, Windows gave a message stating that the best driver is already installed. I have no error message and ran three programs different viruses with no problems. I've also updated Windows available current configuration that has not solved the problem. Thinking it was a hardware problem, I checked the CD drive cable connections and that did not help.  I replaced the CD drive with a new drive for HP and had the same symptoms. I returned the new CD player and he traded for an external CD drive and had the same symptoms in all USB ports. I tried every USB port with a flash player and the flash player saved on my computer in all USB ports. If my CD drive is being recognized by the Device Manager but not in my computer. It's okay if it's an internal or external drive. Everything else on the computer works fine. More troubleshooting ideas?  Thank you.

  First, try the automated Microsoft fixit at the link below.

  Windows 7

  Check if the drive works now.

  If it still does not work, click on the Menu start, open the all programs, open accessories, right-click on command prompt and select "run as Administrator".  In at the prompt, type the following command and press ENTER.

  sfc/scannow                (Note that there is a space between sfc and /)

  Let the entire process, then the output type and press ENTER.

  Then, click on the Start Menu, open Control Panel and click Device Manager.  Click to open the CD/DVD-ROM drives.  Right-click on the drive and choose uninstall.  Do not delete if requested drivers.  When the device has been uninstalled click the icon 'Search for hardware changes' (usually just below help in the toolbar).  Let windows reinstall the disc and see if it works now.

  To be honest that I n don't know what you mean with clip Ribbon keyboard but if the keyboard is faulty or something else, the keyboard completely must be exchanged. You are not a unique key or something else.
  If you want a new keyboard or other spare parts contact your local ASP.
