  • DVD player no longer works on my Satellite C50

It was working fine but now not reognize even when a disc has had players in the player.

Hmm it looks like the laser lens doesn t reads the data from the disk.

Try to clean the laser lens with cotton wool trick and liquid alcohol
In the case of the dirty lens, this will help get the disks still functioning, but be very careful when cleaning the lens!

  • MediaSmart DVD player no longer works! Help

Good so now when I try to open the mediasmart DVD I get a message that appears and says "the program can't start because MSVCR71.dll is missing on your computer.  Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem. "How can I reinstall the program? And is this really the solution to this problem.

    Hello

This assumes that you are running Windows 7.

Try the following to see if you can get MediaSmart DVD works - we can address other MediaSmart software later.

Download and install Revo Uninstaller from the link below.

    http://www.revouninstaller.com/download-freeware-version.php

Run revo and use it to uninstall your HP MediaSmart DVD software.  Make a right click on the program icon you want to remove and select uninstall.  During the process, that you may be asked to remove the registry entries, simply select all and then click on remove.  Do the same for any left over files and folders.  Once the uninstall is complete, reboot the PC.

Then, download the latest installer for MediaSmart DVD on the link below and save it to your desktop.

    FTP://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp50501-51000/sp50935.exe

If you do not have an extraction utility installed, download and install 7-Zip.  Right click on the installation program you download, select Extract 7 - Zip, select the files, and then click Ok.  Open the newly extracted folder, open src and scroll down until you see the application setup ( 6th in the background with a size of 310 KB ).  This Application Configuration right click and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  Once the installation is complete, restart the computer and see if you can now read your Blu - ray discs.

  • Recovery without DVD player?

    Hello.

My older laptop needs a recovery but my isn´t DVD player no longer works. I have still my 2 recovery discs.

Is there another way I could transfer the data from the discs to another device as a USB - Stick or USB Ext. hard drive? Or do I need to buy a DVD player?

    It would be great help.

    Thank you

    Michael

    Hi Michael78,

Interesting to know which laptop would be, you have exactly, but if your CD/DVD drive isn't working, you need to replace the CD/DVD drive. T, you can copy files to another device, and then start the installation.

Usually a new drive you can order from a supplier of service authorized in your country. Simply contact the guys, they will help you. You'll get a compatible drive guys because not all readers are compatible with all laptops.

    Good luck! :)

  • Satellite A45-S250: how to use the recovery CD if the DVD player does not work

    Hi all
First of all, apologize for my English, I'm french :)

So my problem is that I would like to re - install everything on an A45-S250 using the recovery CD.
But the main problem is that the internal DVD player no longer exists.

I try plugging in an external DVD drive, but the laptop won't start on it.

I have seen that it can start with a disk, lan or SD card drive. But with opportunities of theses, how power reinstall everything include in the recovery CD?

I may have a usb floppy drive, so I'll be able to boot from a bootable disk. but then how to start the process of recovery CD?
I will prefer to use the recovery as a home standart WinXP CD, because I know that the OEM series will not work in an original version of Windows XP...

    Thanks for your help!

    Kubs

    Hello Kubs

I see only one solution: you have to somehow use external DVD player and make it visible to your laptop. I try didn t, but I guess you need to start your laptop using WXP startdisc and load the MS-DOS driver for external device.
If you will have success to access external hard drive I guess that you will be able to start the recovery procedure.

  • DVD player will not read is no longer drives

Recently, I went for 2 weeks - when I left my computer was working and my dvd drive could read all my disks (mainly games)

My return however (and after the installation of 18 updates last night) the bed DVD player is no longer just about any type of media disc (having already be able to read all). However, whenever I needed it for work, he did, I noticed that before I left my DVD player had played a bit and seems to be trying to read discs (making the noise of rotation).

Anyone got any ideas on what this could be and a possible fix?

(im running windows vista and the drive is a tsstcorp DVD + - RW TS - H653B ATA)

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
    below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    ===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD
Burn and CD and DVD read). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 operational so that other parts
    do it right.

Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are
the entries in registry that the troubleshooter does not solve and those who "might" be the cause.

Check with your Maker system and a device for the two possible firmware updates and
the correct registry entries for your car.

Here are the keys that I of course are those in question - for the subkeys of the CD/DVD drive
as there will be other subkeys in these keys. Do not forget to ask specific keys involved as well as
    the parameters.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\IDE

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Hardware Profiles\0001\System\CurrentControlSet\Enum\IDE

    Hello

If all goes well there s nothing serious, but according to your message, we should not exclude the HD DVD drive fault.
Have you tried to update the firmware on the disks?
Usually these packages, you should find on the European driver Toshiba page.

But look, man. If the firmware update is not possible or doesn't help then the chances are that the HD DVD player is really defective and must be replaced.

To do this you must contact the ASP in your country. Probably, the guarantee is valid and this procedure can be done for free.

  • My inner smartdrive dvd player won't read DVDs more.  I have updated to Snow Leopard in Yosemite.

I am currently using OS X Yosemite 10.10.5.  I bought in 2009 iMac with Snow Leopard and have to Lion then updated my current operating system.  The internal dvd player has worked with much fussing, (insert the disc - closing - turn after a wait - by pushing the drive when he jumped on reboot).  If I had the chance after a few hours, the video disc show up on my desk.  When this happened, I was opening the dvd player that was in the Finder and the disc would play. I also tried to open the dvd first player and then insert the disc.  That no longer works.  Yesterday, only it just stop working.  The reader still takes dvd and swirls and click as before but then ejects the dvd. Repeatedly stop and restart is no longer works.  I make sure that the dvd be clean before I use it and have tried many different DVDs without success.  I think it's a software issue.  Does anyone have an idea/instructions a nearly dead grandmother brain that can follow to update or redate back to original factory setting to help this poor Smartdrive not so smart?

I have no TV, only my computer and phone at low prices.  I need to watch that my library borrowed from the dvd.

    Thank you.

  • DVD Player & touch screen does not work after last update DX1210 to Windows 8

    Hello
I know. I should have checked the upgrade information before doing so, but I have upgraded to Windows 8 about 3 months ago and my DVD player and touchscreen no longer work. I don't know what else does not work.

I searched drivers but can't seem to find a.

Can someone point me to the right direction?

Or do I restore to original settings - Windows 7?

Which brings me to my second question. How to restore? I did not have a backup, but I left all my data on a hard drive.

I can't find any help on any of these challenges.

    Thanks in advance.

To be honest that I n t have this unit and don t have experience with it but I ve checked Toshiba to THE support page and of course, this model is not supported for Win8. What you need are utilities and tools specific to Toshiba.

In my opinion, if the device is not fully supported you should go back to original Win7 and supported.
I put t know why you didn t follow the Toshiba s advice on the creation of recovery media. From my experience, that the recorded data are unnecessary, and you will not be able to start the recovery image installation.

What you need now is the recovery disk. Visit the Toshiba page if there is possibility to order a new. Otherwise contact the closest service Toshiba and ask if they can help you with this.
