DVI input supplement on my monitor

I own a HP Pavilion PC connected to a monitor of HP2010i p6631 and I would like to have the monitor connected to the 2 hard drives, but only see a DVI input connector and I think that I need another.   Is this possible and if so, how.  Thank you

Hello

You probably need a switch because you can only have 1 computer at a time. Please, try the next option:

  • HP Pavilion a6750f: problem dual monitor (Second monitor not detected in DVI input)

Hello everyone, I'm going to by a problem of not being able to setp toward the top of my second monitor.

I own a HP Pavilion a6750f with an ATI Radeon HD 3200 card on board running on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit operating system.  In the back, I have two VGA and DVI inputs, VGA works, but when I connect the other monitor which is connected to a DVI adapter on the back, Windows does not detect any.

I tried to go the DVI adapter to the other monitor and noticed that it refuses to work. I will note that my display drivers are all updated and I activated the option of customization to detect the second monitor, nothing shows up, it will not be the same acknolowdge that there are several screens.

I think it's weird that I don't see this problem being issued when I was searching for a resolution on google for hours now. If someone can help me here please I would be very happy.

Just to remind you try to connect a VGA (analog) monitor to a DVI - D (digital only) output on the computer. This is never going to work as analog and digital are two completely different incompatible signalling methods. With the help of an adapter DVI / VGA passive is the problem that these cards may work with DVI - I or DVI - A output... not DVI - D.

    Wikipedia - DVI;

"More digital, the DVI connector includes pins that carry an analog signal compatible with RGBHV signals in a VGA connector. This allows a VGA monitor be connected to a passive adapter and offers a universal solution for the DVI interface. The analog pins are the four that surround the apartment or cross the blade as shown on the right side of the diagrams below. »

    8 analog vertical sync

    C1 - analog Red
    C2 - analog Green
    C3 - blue analog
    C4 - analog horizontal sync
    C5 - analog ground

Note the absence of the pins on your computer and your so-called card C1, C2, C3 and C4. Without these pins is not just going to work. Still, there is no way to get an analog VGA monitor to work with your digital DVI - D only output using a so-called DVI - D to VGA. You may be able to buy an asset DVI - D to VGA Converter, but this will be expensive and cannot provide a poor video image quality.

As you said, the HP f1703 monitor supports only VGA. However, based on the specifications, your HP w2207h 22 inch LCD monitor supports the entry to a VGA and a HDMI input. HDMI and DVI - D share the same signage and using a HDMI-DVI cable or adapter HDMI-DVI and HDMI Cable will solve your problem. For two monitors running on your computer, please connect as follows:

Computer > HDMI-DVI cable or adapter HDMI-DVI and HDMI Cable > HP w2207h monitor

Computer > VGA cable > HP f1703 monitor

  • I have an old Mac Mini with a DVI Port that came with a VGA DVI-adapter.  Tonight, my monitor went down.  Brand new monitor works with that?  Can I use an adapter?  If yes should which adapter I?

I have an old Mac Mini with a DVI Port that came with a VGA DVI-adapter.  Tonight, my monitor went down.  Brand new monitor works with that? Any recommendations? Can I use an adapter?  If yes should which adapter I?

You can use any DVI monitor DVI port directly or have any VGA monitor with the power that you adapter. A HDMI monitor might work with an adapter DVI to HDMI in a pinch, but HDMI tends to be more fickle.

  • C60 DVI input 3 Auto Detect using a DVI to VGA splitter

    Hello

We install a codec C60 using a splitter DVI input n ° 3 for the presentation source (DVI - I male to DVI - D & VGA Splitter cable's female adapter)

The DVI input source is configured as Auto-Detect.  Administrator's Guide confirms this seting automatically detects the signal is analog (VGA) or digital (DVI or HDMI).

The problem is the codec can't really switch from one source to another.   We do not seek to send two signals at once, but rather stable wether VGA and HMDI will be detected by the codec according to the entry sends the laptop.

can anyone confirm if this is a limitation of the codec, or bug in firmware or even simply impossible without adding additional hardware.

    see you soon,

    Mel

    Hello

    Yes, auto-detection works for me.

  • DVI - D to 2 analog monitors

I bought the model Office HP Pro 3500 M/T series and 2 HP LV1911 monitors with the intention of running a dual monitor configuration. (no extended not mirror).  Monitors have only VGA. I guess they are analog. The Office has 1 VGA and 1 DVI - D output.  I'm operating a VGA to VGA monitor, but what cable connections must I do to get the second monitor to operate?

    Hello

Your best bet is to install a discrete video card that is equipped with two DVI - I ports and then use two DVI - I to VGA adapters. ThisEVGA 610should work. The 610 is not a performance video card.

If you encounter problems starting with the video card, and then consider the HP posted the article below.

  • Dell E2416H Displayport/DVI input

Hi everyone, I bought a Dell E2416H. My pc has a dvi output port & vga. E2416H has vga and display port of entry. Now I use the vga port, but I want to use displayport for better quality. I bought a cable that is displayport (male) to dvi (male) but it did not work, Caron was passive. I have read some information on the web, people say that "active adapters (dp/DVI) should be used.

How do I do it please help...

The E2416H can only 1920 x 1080, in your case, using DP will look no better than to use the VGA, so use one of its ports.

A DVI output port video card cannot convert up to monitor DP/CDM in ports through a straight through cable. What you have purchased is designed to down convert a DP/CDM map video signal to a DVI monitor port. You must purchase a current converter.

  • no signal dvi on a Setup dual monitor Windows 8

Original title: questions bi-ecrans on windows 8

I just bought a Zoostorm PC with windows 8. I have a dvi and a socket vga at the back of the tower. My main monitor is connected via dvi. I can Carlin the second monitor into the vga when the pc is up and running and running and the display extends without problem. When I stopped the machine and go to use it again once I don't get no signal dvi to main monitor and each screen remains black. Any ideas on how to solve this problem? I'm stumped

Hello, we have this same problem too much on all of our windows, Zoostorm PC 8. Do you have some luck with this?

I finally solved the problem! My power supply blew and after the replacement of two monitors with a upgrade unit works perfectly. Im guessing the original power supply had power of all launch on startup. So there is the answer, the power upgrade.

PS If you have a problem with the PC Repair yourself, Zoostorm warranty not worth the paper it is written on. A lot of aggro for redress the sorted and they charge you the shipping to get it to them.

Trying to choose the entry in the menu PIP PIP shows grayed out the HDMI and two DVI sources. The manual does not address this. • HP Pavilion Elite HPE-400Y no video output.

    Hello

I have a HP Pavilion Elite HPE-400Y computer that I had stored (unplugged) in a bedroom closet bedroom for almost a year.  It was working fine when I put it in storage.

This past weekend, I wanted to use, so I plugged in and connected to an analog VGA monitor well known on the integrated motherboard video VGA analogue connector.  When I turned on, there is no video on the monitor.  I searched the HP support site and found a statement that said "built into the graphics card or the card PCI Express x 16 slot are usable at once; they are not usable at the same time. "This computer came with a 5450 PCI express X 16 video card installed.

However, the 5450 PCI express X 16 video card only has a digital DVI and I wanted to use a loose analog VGA monitor.  So I powered it turned off and physically removed the 5450 PCI express X 16 video card.  Then I unplugged the power cord and removed the CMOS battery for a few minutes.  Then I replaced the battery and applied again to power.

I still do not get all analog VGA video out of the motherboard, not even the BIOS messages it is first energized.

I also tried to integrated edge connector with a DVI equipped, monitor.  Still, there is no video output.

So I removed the power and re-installed the 5450 PCI express X 16 video card that has only a DVI connector.  I connected to a monitor DVI equipped and applied again to power.  There is still no video output was two well-known instructors.

When I turn on the computer, the fan power works, processor and fans of casing run, the blue led on the switch is lit and not blinking.  The Green LED on the motherboard is on.  The Green orange and activity led Ethernet link light are on.  There are no beeps.  I can hear the hard drive starts to work.  I have no video output.

I use a HP USB keyboard and a USB mouse.  The red LED at the bottom of the mouse is not on.  The shift lock and lock lights number do not light when you press the corresponding key.

This computer has spent more time of storage that it has been used.  It worked even when stored in a bedroom closet in bedroom.  I checked all the wire connections on the motherboard, with no improvement.

I would like any suggestions to get this working of the computer.  I wonder if the motherboard has somehow that went wrong.

    Thank you for your help.

    Hello Big Dave,

Thank you for answering my question / problem.

I am aware that I can not use an analog VGA connection on the motherboard for a digital DVI input on my LCD monitor and vice versa.  I tried two different montors both analog and digital connections on the motherboard.  I tried to communicate clearly, but I guess that I don't have.

It is unimportant, now that I've found that HP recognizes that my computer model had a drawing or a manufacturing defect that causes the exact symptoms I am having.  There is here a link to HPs extended warranty program that describes the patterns and symptoms:

  • HPE-240f blocked hdmi and vga?

I have a HP #-240f.  VGA and HDMI ports have a plastic with "do not remove".  Why?  I need to use the double graphics.  I have two HP 2509 m monitors and what to connect them to the system.  All I can do is to use the HDMI TV card housing to plug one of them.

Why does the VGA and HDMI?

How can I add a second monitor?

I read the articles and responses of "Bob", but can't seem to find an answer.  Please help a beginner to HP.

    Thank you

    Jim

First of all, this is the card to your computer HPE-240f and your HP 2509 m monitors. "Stuck" HDMI, and VGA ports are Intel H57 chipset integrated graphics ports. These ports are disable when a graphics card discrete, like the ATI Radeon HD5570 which is included in your computer, is installed. The card that has a DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort output is your graphics card and not your TV tuner. Your monitors to 2509 m HP has VGA, HDMI and DVI inputs. Connect a monitor with a DVI cable and the other with a HDMI cable.

  • hp 2311 to connection of DVI - i monitor double

Hp 2311 monitor\has a dvi - i port. This monitor does support dual link or single link or both according to the type of used dvi - i cable?

    Thanks, Jeff

There are at least three different models of monitors HP 2311... 2311 x, 2311xi, 2311gt. Please refine it for us by providing a complete model number or product number.

Assuming you have the HP 2311 x, your monitor supports only DVI - D, HDMI, and VGA video input connectors supported. DVI - I is a form of DVI that carries analog and digital signals. I think you mean your monitor has DVI - D and supports single-link or dual-link.

Dual-link is to a high bandwidth scenarios... very high resolution (usually 2 048 × 1 536 and above) or refresh rate high (usually 80 Hz and higher). Your monitor does not support high resolution or high refresh rates, so it's more likely supports single-link only.
