dynamic interface of NAT (outside, outside), equivalent to IOS

For a user remote vpn that just want to have access to the internet at the moment. now I know you have to put the following in the config during the use of ASA, what is the equivalent of IOS?

NAT (outdoors,outdoors) dynamic interface.

Thank you

I worked on it for months and I'm still not able to get this working properly. What I want to accomplish is to allow Usablenet to connect to our staging web server from the internet with a range of IPs for Usablenet.

The strange thing is that this seems not correct

    network web_staging_net object

    NAT (web_staging, outside) dynamic interface

NAT (web_staging, outside) source static obj - static destination obj - 209.x.x.97 Useablenet Useablenet 10.x.x.197!

    ACL

outside_in list extended access permitted tcp object-group Useablenet host 10.x.x.197 eq www

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

What is the configuration of the web_staging_net object? What is a subnet or a single host?

I recommend the creation of a host entry for 10.x.x.197 and remove static NAT entry of the other object.

    Something like this:

    network web_10.x.x.197 object

    Home 10.x.x.197

    NAT (web_staging, outside) static obj - 209.x.x.97

  • Hub topology and talk: can I traffic Internet road to PC at a radius of the site through the tunnel and NAT outside in the world on the 5520 hub?

I don't know if it can be made to work or not, or if it's a mutually excluded NAT configuration that is not possible, but I have a 5520 ASA to my site central office with a fiber of 20Mbps Internet streams and two remote offices with ASA 5505 devices connected via DSL or cable modem and have finally got from Site to Site "spoke" VPN upward tunnels and run with the ability to route traffic to through a 'hairpin turn' speak-to-Spoke on the Hub Site 5520.

I have desktop PC at each remote site speaks A & B that need to communicate directly with them to support a small group of work-style of the software point of sale that is actually hosted on a remote site A PC.

PC on two remote sites must also be able to communicate with a credit card processing by the public Internet service, and I wish have the ASA 5505 units in each block of remote office as all traffic directly NAT'ed from each respective out on the local LAN PC straight Internet above each site cable modem or DSL modem. I want to force these PCs need to NAT their Internet-destination back through the ASA 5520 traffic located at the Home Office, on the VPN tunnels. In other words, I want the cable modem and DSL connections to route traffic strictly VPN encrypted to the Home Office and also behave like routers NAT for the local PC it.

I can kill the 5505 prevents NAT for PCS in remote offices simply removing the rule dynamic NAT factory default for 'everything', but then I can't understand how to get my 5520 central to perform NAT which required of the remote PCs to talk to their service of Internet credit card processor without breaking the configs "NAT-free" necessary for VPN traffic to spoke-to-spoke to work. If I'm trying to put an entry static or dynamic NAT for a remote desktop on my 5520 ASA central, it breaks the VPN tunnel so that PC specific.

Is that what I want to accomplish even possible with the ASA?

    Hi Neal,

Yes, it's quite possible! below is a loss of things you need to do:

    (1) make sure of course on both the 5505 s of the ASA, you send ALL traffic from the local network through the VPN.

    (2) as Andrew mentioned, have the 'same-security-traffic permit intra-interface' command on the ASA 5520.

    (3) you do not have to have a configured proxy server, but it is also a good solution. But to make it work without her, assuming that the ASA 5505 remote subnets 192.168.1.0/24 and 192.168.2.0/24, add the config lines below to the ASA 5520:

    NAT (outside) 1 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0

    NAT (outside) 1 192.168.2.0 255.255.255.0

    Global 1 interface (outside)

Please note that 1 id, and the interface can be replaced according to the configuration you already have in place in the ASA 5520.

I don't know what kind of NAT exemptions are at the origin of the questions for you, but if you can put a sanitized one of your ASA 5505 and ASA 5520 config, I can make suggestions concerning the exact configuration.

Let me know if it helps!

    Thank you and best regards,

  • Œuvres of VPn on the inside of the interface, but not outside

I have a PIX-525 with UR license.  I tried to get my VPN to work since my iphone over the weekend, but nothing helped.  Then, I changed the interface inside to see if my iMac could connect and bingo!  It worked.  I then tried to log in via the inside of the interface with my iphone and it worked.

I have connected a PIX-515e and, using the same settings, can connect to the external interface via my iPhone.

    Strange.

Now, to answer the pressing questions, yes I changed the IP address of the server in my client IPSEC settings to reflect the external and internal interfaces I was testing each of them.  I was using a pré-partagées secret.  Yes, the secret has been entered correctly and they have all matched... Yes, the name of the tunnel has been entered correctly.  I used the database local user for authentication with username/password name (i.e. no certificate of authorization to make things simpler for debugging).  I changed the syslog to debugging and I see absolutely no error when you try to connect my iphone to the external interface (i.e. turn off wifi so I'm on my 3G data network).  The only thing I see is where my iphone hits the external interface and it's disassembly (or whatever his name is) but that's all.

Why this work like a charm with my PIX-515e and not my PIX-525?  VPN accelerator card in the 525 can be at fault?  The 515e doesn't have the aecellerator card.  No idea why can't I several a VPN connection inside the interface but not outside?

    Hi Tim,.

Well it's not so much the DNS rewrite that is the problem (if you delete just the keyword dns VPN will still fail) but using the external interface for NAT. So all traffic intended for your address of the external interface is passed to the "gcbrouter", including vpn traffic.

I'm thinking about a way to solve this problem, but I really can't find anythign right now. Using a different interface will not work because you can have only a single default route.

I wonder if this would work:

    remove the NAT interface:

not static (DMZ, external) gcbrouter netmask 255.255.255.255 dns interface

Replace with PAT interface, i.e. add such a line for each port that you want to be contactable on the DMZ server:

static interface tcp 80 gcbrouter 80 netmask 255.255.255.255 (DMZ, outside) dns

static (DMZ, outside) of the 25 gcbrouter 25 netmask 255.255.255.255 tcp interface dns

    etc.

In all honesty, I have never seen rewriting dns used with PAT so not quite sure if it will work.

  • number of dynamic interfaces in a group of interfaces regarding 8510 controllers

I have a controller 8510, is it possible to club 130 dynamic interfaces in a single interface group?

I guess a single interface group can have 64 dynamic interfaces, if there is a way to club 130 dynamic interfaces in a group unique interface, please suggest.

I suggested to my client to create two interface group, a dynamic group of 64 can interfaces each, but he suggested the following

    1. If the interface of several groups to be created, rules of correspondence ACS must make the same number (access policies ACS allowing only 1 name of Air Interface [interface group] in line with the strategy)
    2. Having several access policy for the Group of users even identify unknown factors in the distribution of access requests between two or more access policies where they the same group of service users

    Hello

Yes, you just... you can have a max 64 interface in a group of interfaces:

Here is the reference (table 2): http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/controller/technotes/8-1/8...

So you cannot combine all the 130 dynamic interface in a group.

According to my experience: one solution is to use 2 SSIDS and each ssid must have a group of interfaces (64 interfaces).

So I configured the WIFI network and each its own dynamic interfaces associated with. Each dynamic interface is in turn associated with its own port of the controller.

  • Number max of dynamic interfaces on 4404 WLC

Can someone tell me if there is a limit to how many dynamic interfaces I can create on a WLC 4404?

I know that I can have only 16 SSID, so I have set up an SSID for my private network and use AAA Override and configured my radius server to assign the VLAN different for each group. I need to create a dynamic interface for each VLAN individual and I just want to know if there is some sort of limit on the number of dynamic interfaces, I can have when I meet a potential problem on the road.

    TIA,

    Deanna

I was able to verify that you can only create dynamic interfaces up to 513. This of course does not include your management, your ap Manager or VIP.

  • WLC - slot configuration of the dynamic Interface DHCP settings

    Hi guys,.

If I have a dynamic interface that is connected to a subnet where the router interfaces have DHCP servers configured under the orders of support address, do I need to configure the DHCP fields in the dynamic interface configuration?

I have the support address configured on routers connected AND these fields configured with the same DHCP servers.

I was wondering if I can take the IP address of the configuration of WLC?

    Thx a lot indeed.

    Ken

Ken, the DHCP address in the dynamic interface, is the address the WLC is unicast the DHCP request when a client tries to use this interface. In normal operation, this address is needed. Is there a way to get the WLC to fill the package to the wire to make it a show instead of a unicast packet. CLI command is dhcp proxy disable config.

But I think that even if you issue the CLI command, the software wants the DHCP address in the dynamic interface.

  • Independent migration of LWAPP and dynamic interfaces on the controller 4404

We are currently migrating from a stand-alone environment. Access points currently take wireless clients and put

their right in separate VLANs that SSID that they associate with. Each SSID is another customer

So we are essentially acting as a service provider. We try not to get involved with the functions of layer 3.

Each range of IP of SSID is ordered by a customer or a third party. So far, we didn't specify an address from DHCP server, the client is getting on one VLAN and it is up to the customer to assign their own intellectual property details.

Now that we're migrating to LWAPP I found the following-

-J' need to specify an IP address for each dynamic IP address for each WLAN

-J' need to specify a DHCP server for each dynamic IP address for each WLAN

Because I have no control of the PPE, I put in the details of false dynamic Interface but the correct address of the DHCP server.

    It seems to work.

    My questions are as follows:-

1 / is there a way I can simply place clients in a VIRTUAL LAN using LWAPP equipment so we didn't

get involved with Layer 3 configuration?

2 / I noticed when I got a DHCP address on a test laptop client, the DHCP server is 1.1.1.1. The only thing in the network that I know is the virtual IP address of the controller that is used for groups of mobility. Is this normal?

3/on the controller is the query DHCP has passed from the management or the dynamic interface?

3 / What is the IP address of the dynamic interface actually used for? At the beginning I forge the DHCP server use it as a source, but my setup works with a bogus address.

Welcome to the world of LWAPP! It's a pretty confusing to get, so I hope I can answer some of your questions.

Before directly answering your questions, I want to give you a little if a glimpse as to how traffic flows in LWAPP environment. All traffic LWAPP is placed in a tunnel to the controller (this is why LWAPP APs is no longer need to switch trunk links). Traffic is désencapsulé and sent to the appropriate interface switching environment (management or dynamic). The source address for traffic is changed to match the control interface for traffic must return to the controller in order to get the customer. For example, IP addresses are required on the controller.

    1. think of the controller as a layer 3 switch that masks the identity of its customers. By sourcing all traffic from itself, it ensures that all traffic comes back to him, how it forwards traffic to the client via the LWAPP tunnel. False addresses you entered are actually being used on the network, then you will want to register those with the people in charge. If someone uses this address, it will eventually drop your wireless network.

    2. it is normal. The virtual IP address is also used for DHCP service. Because the controller blocks all emissions, it must the DHCP proxy for each client, where the virtual IP address as well as the need to specify the address of the DHCP server.

    3. I don't know what interface it gets passed on. Maybe someone else can answer.

    4. see above for a description of what it is.

One last thing. What, exactly, are these fake addresses to which you refer? They are real addresses which comes with? They correspond to the VLAN that you places on? You give them suitable default gateways?

Don't forget that by configuring these, they are real addresses on your network that you should be able to ping. And yet once, if the address is duplicated on the network, it has the potential to get to the bottom of your wireless network.

Let me know if this can help, and if you have any other questions!

  • Dynamic interfaces, VIRTUAL, multiple physical interfaces LAN?

    Hello

We're just starting with a WLC 5508 and WCS. We can already see that it is a big improvement on our installation current with autonomus AP we are also implementing some 11n AP is in this framework.

I think I understand the multiple interfaces AP-Manager and balance the load of the average AP in these. But I do not understand what customer traffic should be load-balanced.

The goal is to have a WLAN. When I create this I select a dynamic interface (and so a VLAN for the customers). But this VLAN is bound to a physical port (with a port of relief). So my understandig of the wil of customer traffic from the AP to the controller on several interfaces, but then goes out to the servers in a single interface?

It's not what I want - I'd like to that traffic on him VLAN on the servers to be distributed on several ports. How do I do that? I then use LAG?

    Kind regards

    Kaj

OK, if you don't have that a WLAN you would probably a dynamic interface, unless you use AP group VLAN.

  • Mappings of dynamic interface of SSID in the AP groups

Hello, I have a few questions about the mapping of the SSID to the interfaces within the AP groups.  My controller runs 7.4.110 and has about 150 APs configured on the controller.

5508 pair UNIQUE for all APs authentication mode

50 are on the same campus as a controller. (APs in Local Mode)

100 are 40 other WAN sites. (APs to FlexConnect Central, site based authentication DHCP)

3 SSID broadcast to all sites

    Corp - 802. 1 x

    Warehouse - Auth WPA2-PSK-Mac

Reviews - wide opening with a Cs & Ts that you accept very similar to a hotel

    Controller interfaces

    Management interface

    The warehouse - dynamic interface

    Customer interface - dynamic

I have set up groups of AP for each remote location. My question is this:

For these places distant in the AP group configuration, should I maps all the SSID to the management interface, or I should map it to the dynamic interface?  I.e. to Corp.--> Management, warehouse--> warehouse, guest--> comments.

For local access points, I do the SSID mapping for each interface, but I don't know that it's important for my remotes.

    Help is greatly appreciated.

For your remote offices FlexConnect APs.

If WLAN is configured for local switching, then users will get IP of the interface that you corresponding in the mapping section vlan in the AP configuration. (interface by default yield under general WLAN or the AP group WLAN configuration section is not a problem)

If WLAN is configured for central switching, then you must assign a correct dynamic interface under the WLAN-> General section or AP group WLAN configuration.

Below material Ciscolive will give you good overview of all the available option & design guide.

Network configuration / routing / two network interface cards / NAT - leased / dedicated Dell R210 running VMware ESXi 5.1.0 build-799733

    Hello

I'm trying to understand how to configure a dedicated server of Dell R210 rented running VMware ESXi 5.1.0 build-799733

This dedicated server is rented www.online.net and sits somewhere in France. One of its network adapters have an IP public 62.210.177.20x. The other NIC is here, but I do not understand how it is configured. According to the www.online.net portal, the other NETWORK card has or should have an IP 10.90.116.20x. And I am obviously set up is to have some virtual machines running and be able to access the Internet. I have access to the console of the server Dell through iDRAC and since I could see, one of the network adapters in the IP is 62.210.177.20x defined, and the other has been shown out of service. I managed to make it appear the other interface but I cannot find anywhere how to assign the IP address 10.90.116.20x to this 2nd network adapter. But then again I don't even know if I should or if I need to assing a IP address to this 2nd network adapter. What is the cable connected even for this 2nd NIC? I do not know. Should it be - I'm not either. I don't know French and manuals/instructions on www.online.net are in French. I can try an online translator, but I don't think that what I'm looking for is explained. How do I get this set up? I have to do something about the ESXi on the server console? This interface 2nd should be in place, or it must be down as if it was originally? Yesterday after watching someone videos on YouTube, I added the second virtual switch and moved the virtual hosts of this switch 2 and he entrusted the 2nd NIC. But that 2nd NIC had a red X next to it probably indicating that it was disconnected the 2nd form virtual switch. Today and now I have managed to access the ESXi console server through iDRAC, I bring the 2nd NIC, and now both network adapters are assigned to the virtual switch 1st . But I think that a NIC should be attributed to a single switch and the other card NETWORK on the 2nd switch. I'm just a desktop guy with enough knowledge to be dangerous J if you / someone put in steps how and where to set them up it... PLEASE

    Thanks in advance

    Network configuration

    • VMware vSphere Hypervisor is an "operating system" for pure virtualization and support NAT or routing. Therefore, only a real bridge configuration can be used.
    • To use a subnet additional IP must be configured as a router VM.

If I understand the above, I need to show some VM and set up as a router? If the virtual machine that will act as a router must have two network interfaces, where it is connected to a switch and the other to the other switch network card. Am I do? The YouTube video that suggested, but I thought that maybe / somehow ESXi can route packets between the two network cards, but from what I read, ESXi can route packets. Do I need to order an additional / extra / 2nd IPv4 address so that it can be assigned to the interface of the router?

  • SSL vpn, single interface acting as outside/inside

    Hi all

I'm trying to implement a VPN SSL (not without customer) with a cisco ASA 5510, but I'm a bit stuck since for testing the vpn will be in the same subnet as the destination to reach and so there is only a single interfaces connected to the network that would deal with internal and external traffic. I have attached a diagram of what I'm trying to do and the configuration of my ASA, hope this would be useful.

The entire network is for historical reasons on routed public ip addresses. There are ACL to block traffic from the internet on the workstation on our network that is 8.8.36.0/24.

As I am not responsible for management of this network, I would like to test vpn in several steps.

    (1) the first step is to test this vpn from inside to inside

    (2) second step would be to test this vpn from outside the internet inside network

    (3) and the final step would be to put this vpn in one vlan separate

For the first step, I tried to connect to the vpn with the anyconnect client server, no problem with the creation of vpn, and I correctly get an ip address from the pool (for example: 8.8.36.181) but I can't contact the internal workstation on the 8.8.36.0/24 network.

I' I'm sure I'm missing something in the configuration, it would be possible to help me?

    Thanks in advance,

    1. Please use a different subnet as pool other than your network vpn client internal 8.8.36/24

    2. given that traffic will turn back on ASA, you need the following command.

    permit same-security-traffic intra-interface

  • Multiple NAT Outside beaches?

    HI -.

I hope someone can advise me if this scenario is possible.

Here's my situation. I just installed a second WAN link and a border router additional ISPs to double-House using BGP. To facilitate the management, we will use one of the 2 24 we control now, however one that we will use later, the new block comes from the second ISP, which means of course go through a change of ip address.

I try to avoid a plan where I have to change all the public IP addresses on a weekend, due to the amount of the different VPN and other specific IP connections than other organizations have with us, while I was trying to plan a gradual passage.

I have a single 515 (6.3) for outbound traffic, and add another is not possible for about 6 months (lease is expected to return for the time in which we will go to the ASA). Finally addresses outside the firewall will be a single/24 network, but in the meantime, I would use the two lines (using NAT) on the firewall.

By design, the GW for the firewall is currently concert port on the original router. This router is using the static routes for the trafficking of exit and entry to our ASN, but the newly installed router is using BGP. Before I turn BGP on the original router, I have a show a connection between the two and I want to implement based on routing strategies to define all traffic from the new/24 range with a next hop for the new router BGP running.

I tried yesterday, and I had no connectivity even ping on the edge router using this new set of IP addresses. Is it possible to implement these two ranges of IPs for NAT on the firewall and have the two lines at the same gateway IP address.

I know it's probably confused, so if you need clarification in any field, let me know.

    Thanks for your help.

I don't see why it would not work as long as you have control of the config of the outside PIX next hop router. Set up the first subnet as usual, then get your second subnet at IP of PIX. Implement the NATs on PIX as you wish. On the gateway router you need to establish routing strategy (map of the itinerary) so that it uses an ACL to look at the source IP address coming from the PIX, routes an ISP, second rate would vary other ISPS.
