E2000 connected to RVS4000

Latest firmware everywhere)

I use an E2000 as a wireless access point to the Internet, by connecting the E2000 (nec x.x.x.5) LAN to the LAN a RVS4000 (nec XXX1).  The E2000 is set for Automatic Configuration, and everything works fine... Until a power failure occurs... Then, after all starts again...  I get the "NO INTERNET" prompt on the wireless...

Using PingPlotter, since end wireless a computer and another computer with PingPlotter wired side of the XXX1 LAN, I have determined that it is the E2000 which has disconnected from the RVS4000.

I've found a workaround, but... No matter how boots parameter, if I switch away from and then BACK to: NAT DISABLED in Advanced Routing, everything is operational again...  Until the next failure...

Is it possible to make this automatic?

L

In another forum, there was a suggestion to put the E2000 in Bridge mode in settings WAN... I can not find...

Suggestions?

Now you know why I waited a year before posting here... Because no solution is available!

I thought that if I posted that the E2000 was the problem, perhaps, just manybe which action would be part of Linksys...

Other than a response to "pass the buck"...

It is regrettable that this support site has been reduced to "pass the buck" answers...

I have a problem when you try to connect the WRT110 with the RVS4000.

The problem is that devices connected on the gift of the WRT110 obtain an IP address and cannot connect on the computer connected to the RVS400.

My setup is the RVS4000 as a gateway and DHCP active. the wrt110 is the secondary router that will be used to access wireless and wired switch.

devices connected on the wrt110 occurred (Popcorn Hour) media center units

on the wrt110 I tryied different configurations to see if I can make it work. LAN to Lan connection. (with dhcp and NAT Protocol on the disabled wrt110) and

with Lan to Wan connection (affecting an ip address static DNS and gateway wrt110 and dhcp and nat disabled)

I ping the wrt110 from computer connected on the rvs4000 and vice versa, but I cannot ping devices connected on the wrt110

I think 2 scenarios that could affect. The routing table of the wrt110 declares 192.168.1.0 with gateway 192.168.1.5 ips (which is the IP wrt110) can change on 192.168.1.1 which is the rvs4000 with the dhcp server?

All wiring passed it must be somewhere in the connection?

    Thanks in advance

You cannot change the ports on the switch N ° the WRT. They are always auto-detection. It seems that negotiation does not work with your media device.

    Options:

    1. connect the device to support to the RVS4000.
    2. find a switch with which the media device negotiate correctly.
    3. get a (expensive) managed switch and set the connection port that you need.

Of course, remember the speed control lower the appliance becomes slower. It depends on how fast the device media is supposed to be and what nic ethernet is integrated.

  • E2000 reset, now does not connect

Then, I had problems with my HTPC the E2000 connection. I had an old D-link router + Wireless N USB adapter, but after the death of the Dlink, I bought the E2000 and upgraded to a faster N adapter. In any case, connection had been fragmented by using WPA/WPA2 encryption. I had a few better speeds wireless turned off completely. I couldn't leave it open, though, as there are tons of laptops around my apartment that eventually connect to my network. Using this particular adapter wireless connection continued to give problems. Two blackberries more a Nookcolor connect without any problem (maybe because they are wireless-G, who knows).

I then decided to reset the router simply hold the reset button, as I did on all of the other routers. It is reset and restart, but when she came back, it would connect is the internet. I have connected directly to a modem and works fine, but when I connect to the router... nothing. I did a hard reset (30, 30, 30) and erased everything, it seemed. The HTPC now links easily, but there is still no internet connection. This turns out to be very frustrating.

Is there something I could have done wrong by doing this first reset? Anyway is set up to retrieve my internet connection? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Well either you did or you have not who is?  You know that you completely reconfigure the router once you press the reset button, as if it was new.

    Hello

I use an E2000 connected to a DSL modem through the internet port. My modem is able to connect at gigabit speed, but it doesn't seem to be the case with the E2000. All other ports are running at speed gigabit without problem. Y at - it all settings can be changed or there is a limit of router?

    Brenda,

I double checked before posting this response and I have a hardware problem. The cable between the router and the modem seems to be wired incorrectly explaining why 100 Mbps and 1 Gbps. I'll close the post.

  • RVS4000 & WRVS4400N Limited Internet high speed

Two of these model units apear to be Internet max downlink speed of about 26 or 27Mbs. I tested with 10 different units in 3 different sites where the descending speed broadband provided is a complete 50Mbs, including in my own office. My normal router is a Cisco ASA5505 and I also connected a router Cisco 1840 and even an old Linksys router and all reach full 50MBs speed using a variety of speed test sites. The modem cable to my office and other sites have a gigabit LAN connection and RVS4000/WRVS4400N units must certainly be able to reach the speed of 50Mbs. I would be recognizing a Cisco rep, you meet this. If this problem cannot be resolved, my clients may want to move the unit to a different constructor, what I'll do.

    Hi Edward,.

The routers WRVS and recreational vehicles are end of life / end of sale.

The IPS slow internet connection is not a bug. When you perform a speed test, speed test attaches invalid packets to generate traffic, which will report as a security issue as possible. When you perform a speedtest your computer downloads a binary file, and then use 4 wire http to saturate your connection. Speed samples are processed up to 30 times per second, then the speedtest on average in those together.

With so much aggregated traffic, IPS does not know what do with it, out of what it is supposed to - watch traffic for anything malicious. This is also true for downloads, your normal web browsing don't usually have a noticeable effect. But a large download will be as all packages are inspected incoming and outgoing.

  • Install RVS4000 with ADSL modem / router combo?

I am trying to install a VPN RVS4000 router in our small office.  My problem is that AT & T has installed a Netopia 3347-02 combination of DSL Modem / Router.  So I can not connect the RVS4000 directly to a dsl modem, the only access I have is on the side of the Netopia DSL.  When I tried to affect the rating the RVS4000 the same subnet as our local area network WAN, he wouldn't let me do.  I tried to adjust the side Lan side of the (same) RVS4000 Wan and the Netopia slightly different subnet, but that no longer works.  The only way I can get internet access through two devices is to connect the side Lan of the Netopia alongside the RVS4000 Lan, but that circumvents the VPN, correct?  The reason why I bought the RVS4000 is to the VPN.  Is it possible to configure the RVS4000 in this situation, or should I get a plain old DSL modem without router integrated?

    Thank you, Scott

    Scott,

It should not need to get another device to use the VPN of the RVS4000 features.  To set up the equipment you have, you just place the Netopia DSL router in the 'bridge' mode  This will then allow you to connect the DSL router to the WAN (internet) port on your RVS4000.  Once in bridged mode, your WAN on the RVS4000 port will receive its IP address of AT & T, which will then take over the functions of routing and allow you to use this router VPN functionality.

If your DSL provider uses PPPoE, you will need to select "PPPoE" on the RVS4000 WAN configuration page, and then enter the user name and password in the RVS4000 so that it can authenticate and obtain an IP address from AT & T.

To put the Netopia DSL router to "bridge" mode, I included a link to one of their user's guides.  The section to put it in Bridge mode starts on page 107.

  • Wireless cascading

    Hello

I'm tying an e2000 (connected to the modem/internet) for a WRT54GL v. 1.1, which in turn, I want to connect to our TV with a cable ethernet through LAN ports. Both have the latest respective software.

I can cascade right routers via the lan ports and the e2000 assigns ip addresses, etc. - all great. But when I disconnect the connection to the local network, no joy.

I tried to set up a static address in the Routing window advanced, but the computer does not find the router later.

    My set up:

    E2000

    IP = 192.168.1.19

    subnet = 255.255.255.0

    DHCP = 192.168.1.100 ip address range - 192.168.1.149

    Wireless = g only, secure

    the WRT54GL

    IP = 192.168.1.254

    subnet = 255.255.255.0

    allcoation DHCP = disabled

Wireless = G only, secure, exact same SSID and password

chosen rather than the gateway router

Is my static routing badly due to the same domain 192.168.1.XXX address?

    Should I static routing?
Is there a simple setting I'm missing?

Linksys support suggested I put the e2000 in the #1 position and, during the configuration, review the port #2... as I said, everything looks great until I have try to disconnect and use the wireless.

Any help much appreciated, or, if I'm trying to do is impossible, it would be great to know too. I turn signal replacement software if it is a much better solution than the road I'm.

    Thank you

    Galen

You can't connect two Linksys wireless routers.  You should always use a cable as you discovered.  I'm sorry.  However, there may be some 3rd party firmware that will support this.  Search the Web for DD - WRT firmware to see if your router supports it.

  • Separate the networks on a Modem, two routers

Using a Linksys E2000 Linksys WRT54GL (all two funniest newest firmware), I am setting up the network 'A' and 'B' on a modem. I don't want either A or B to be able to see each other for reasons of security. Both are secure wireless network for connections and have different SSID.

After researching online and being able to find my exact question answered, that's what I did and let me know if Miss me something to keep A and B completely separated. Alternatively, if I did everything what is problem on my network.

1 router - "A" main network with the combo of Wi - Fi or cable (wired connection through a switch 16 ports):

Linksys E2000 - connected to the cable modem, 16 switch port connected to the LAN port

    Automatic IP DHCP w / from 192.168.2.100

    Secure wireless, WPA2 Personal, "SSID1.

This network 'A' must be the safer of the two (wired and wireless)

2nd router - "B" secondary, all wireless network:

Linksys WRT54GL - WAN port connected to the LAN of the E2000 port

    Changed to LAN IP 192.168.2.1

    Automatic IP DHCP w / from 192.168.2.200

    Secure wireless, WPA2 Personal, "SSID2."

I have disabled the ability to change settings using the Wi - Fi connection on both routers.

Comments, suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you very much.

  • Cisco Connect connects to the router E2000

I got an E2000 router, set up and works very well for years. Today, I tried to connect with Cisco Connect, I want to establish a network of separate comments (by the way, if there's a way to do this through the web management interface, please let me know!). However, the software is unable to connect to the router; the progress bar gets to 25%, and then eventually times out. I tried several computers on network, cable and wireless, with the same results. Any suggestions? Thank you!

I solved the problem; I activated the setting "Allow users to set up" in the "Administration" tab, as well as utility access Web via HTTP. I don't know which of these settings did the trick, but I was able to connect and configure the network invited (even from a PC wireless).

  • Linksys E2000 router slow connection.

OK, so I use 2 with 2 routers, for me and my father, another for my brother and sister.  We decided to get rid of the other router and make our cisco E2000 our primary router, but everything on the router configuration has been deleted, so we had to reset upward.  I remember reading a guide to advanced setting to make my wireless speed range from 13.5MBPS to 216 Mbit/s, but I forgot what the settings was in the advance settings.  Can someone help me with the settings or if you have a link that I can go?

Open an Internet Explorer browser on your computer (desktop) wired page. In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1 and press ENTER...
Let the empty user name & password use admin lowercase...

Click on the Wireless tab > click on Advanced Wireless Settings...
Change the tag to 75 interval, change the Fragmentation threshold to 2304, change the RTS threshold to 2304 and click on save settings... Now let's see if you can locate your wireless network and try to connect...

  • Connection to routers RVS4000

I have 2 routers of RVS4000 that connects to its own cable modem.  I can independently had each network (router) on the other and successfully connect to the internet.  I need to have each router (networks) communicate with each other via ethernet on each router port.  If I am able to connect routers to each other, will they be able to balance the load.

    1. the routers do not have the ability to load balancing.

    2. an installer of subnet: you have set up the first RVS4000 with 192.168.1.1/255.255.255.0 LAN IP address. Configure you the second RVS4000 with 192.168.1.2/255.255.255.0 LAN IP address. Disable you the DHCP server on each time, or on the second. Connect both routers via a LAN port. You assign static IP addresses on the computers that are supposed to use the second router as gateway. If you let the DHCP server on the first race, all DHCP clients will use the first router as gateway.

    3. two subnet settings: you use 192.168.1.1/255.255.255.0 on the first router. You use 192.168.2.1/255.255.255.0 on the second router. You configure a port (e.g. port 4) on the first router in one VLAN different. You enable routing inter - VLAN. Connect the second router to the first router 4 port. You must then configure static routing for the other subnet. I do not have a RVS4000 and the user guide is not clear what are the configuration options. The second router needs to know what gateway to send traffic to 192.168.1.0/255.255.255.0. The first router should already now the static route if she knows that the other VLAN using 192.168.2.0/255.255.255.0 addresses.

  • Setting up a network of Cisco E2000 comments without Cisco Connect software

Can someone describe to me how I can install an additional SSID for a wireless network of comments that my friends can use? I don't see where in the administration tool (by connecting 192.168.1.1) where I can do.  I see in the wireless section where I can install my main SSID (which I did not publish), but I don't see an alternative to setting up a guest SSID.

I understand that they can do with the software of Cisco Connect, but for some reason, it is not recognize my router.

I think that the guest access feature is available through Cisco connect to E2000, and cannot be enabled or configured through the Web of the router utility. You need to reset the router first for him to recognize and reinstall the software successfully. Also average you must redo the settings for your primary network which is part of the Cisco wireless connect installation process.

  • Unable to connect to Comcast E2000

I tried to connect Comcast to my new router E2000, with negative results. I update the firmware on the router (to 1.001). My old Netgear WiFi router works fine, so I know the configuration works.

For testing purposes, I have the following:

    MacBook Pro > E2000

    Comcast > E2000

    Both with an Ethernet cable.

I have access to the E2000 via the web-based interface. I tried a variety of configurations, including the use of the 'static' configuration by using the Comcast ip, gateway, subnet, and DNS aware that currently exists. I am unable to get the Auto DHCP to work - Comcast ip appear (in the "status" window.)

    Any help greatly apprecated.

    Ralph

If this is the case, make a note of the MAC address of the Netgear. Go to the router configuration page. On MAC cloning subtab address, put the MAC address of the Netgear. Save and restart both devices.

  • E2000 low connection speeds

I recently "upgraded" my router from a WRT54G for the E2000 and changed my computers wireless to USB - N adapters. At first, they were only 54 Mbps but found that I had to use WPA2 (I was in WPA) and after the change is made, I got from around 107Mbps to 130Mbps connections. (Even if these are dual band adapters, I can't enjoy 300Mbps because I left the Router 2.4 Ghz only because I have some only portable wireless-G and I understand that you can not on 5 GHz router because they do not connect.)  In any case, a few days later, when I checked these computers wireless n connection speed, one was at 5 Mbps, another 20 - something.  The signal strength is good at computers, as it has always been.  This router "modifies" speeds "as needed" or something?  Any help is greatly appreciated!

I think 2.4 GHz is faster than the 5 GHz Wireless band.

You can connect the router WRT54G of E2000 router to create a new 2.4 Ghz wireless network and allows you to broadcast the signal 5 GHz E2000 wireless router.

  • E2000 Wireless and help connect BEFVP41

I have a VPN BEFVP41 router that I use for my home software company and I have several clients who need to access the files on my server... so the VPN endpoint router. And it works very well. However, I would like to connect my laptop, PS3 and DirecTV set-top satellite Internet and bought a wireless router Linksys E2000 for this.

When I followed all the instructions, right out of the box, with all its parameters by default, I had wireless internet without problem, but did not have access to my network. I have live chat and was immediately referred to the helpline to help set up what they called a 'cascading connection '. Well, after almost 4 hours on the phone with them on 2 separate days, I now have no internet OR network connection on my E2000. It of a paperweight and sits right on the desktop. I tried to reset and start from scratch, as if I had just pulled out of the box... No, does not work.

Is it possible to use an E2000 wireless router and connect to the internet through a wired router BEFVP41? If so, how? TIA

    PJO

    1. make sure that the BEF is working properly. I guess that's the address LAN IP 192.168.1.1 with subnet mask 255.255.255.0.

    2. it is probably best to reset the E2000 to the factory settings. Press reset for 30 seconds. Make sure that the E2000 is not connected to your network.

    3. wire a single computer to the E2000. Open the web interface at http://192.168.1.1/ on the main Setup page, give the address LAN IP 192.168.1.2 and disable the DHCP server. Save the settings.

    4. unplug the computer. Now one of the ports numbered from the E2000 LAN wire to the BEF. Do not use the internet port of the E2000.

That's all. Now, you use the E2000 as a simple access point and ethernet switch. The internet-related functions are done on the BEF only.

Don't forget to set up the wireless and secure the E2000 through its web interface to http://192.168.1.2/
