E4200 causing DynDNS abuse

I just install my new E4200 yesterday and today I received and email saying that my account has been banned do abuse. Probably more update. I know that's not the routers multiple update causes the old one is sitting in front of me and is disconnected.

I can only assume the E4200, update frequency is high, but there is no way to adjust it. Also, there is no firmware updates.

Anyone who has another experencing this?

Well after spending a good half hour arguing with a first level tech and then in now for 20-30 minutes, I was finally able to talk to a technician.   I have to give him credit.   My experience with outsourced support is usually pretty bad (like this until I talk to him about high technology).    To and its Linksys credit, he took the time to listen to me and did some research online of his own.   After having done a bit of work, he told me something that has not been mentioned here.   If you have active DDNS server, every time you click on save settings button on ANY page of the router GUI, it updates all settings - which includes the re-update DynDNS even if the IP address has not changed.  Routers from series 54 G/L did not do that.   Given the equivocation, that I have done with this thing in the last days (playing with the NAS function), I saved the settings MUCH.  So if what he says is true, it could explain the DynDNS blocks that I receive.

I now have a file number, and tonight, we are trying experience.   I locked parameters from 19:00, and let stand overnight.   It has been almost 4 hours and DynDNS has not been updated - and more important, I have not been blocked.   There has been speculation that the unit is updated when the lease of 6 hours runs, and if this is the case, I should be able to see.   If I make it through the night without updates or get blocked, I think I'll be pretty confident that the problem is understood.   If this is the case, I'll just make sure that I disable the DDNS client whenever I'm fiddling.

If I'm stuck overnight, the tech asked me to call back with the file number and it will open a bug report.

Just thought you want to know everything.

  • New E4200 Causes cable Modem reset continuous

I just bought this router, all comments have been very good.  I hung it on a cable Modem Motorola of Comcast, after three to five hours the router forces the cable modem resets automatically.  If I disconnect the router and connect directly to the PC or my old linksys modem router behaves correctly.  I returned the first unit that I bought at the store, at the direction of Linksys technical support, second unit so I exchanged the premiera has the same problem.  Very frustrating, don't know what to do next other than to return for a refund.  I was looking forward for maximum performance.

I reported the issue to technical support, so far, they have me do a hard reset of the router, but that has not solved the problem.  I was wondering if anyone else has this problem or knows how I can solve this problem.

I wish some better attention from technical support, do not know if it is a firmware issue or what.

Aloha!  I recently bought an E3000 router to replace the old WRT54G Router and had the similar problem.  He kept my modem cable to reboot/reset after 6-12 hours.   I replaced the modem cable 2 weeks ago and had to reboot/reset once.

  • Re: Audio crackles on Satellite A500 (PSAR3A - 01 K 002)

Bought a new Satellite A500 last year and have had many problems, here's a quick run down:

1 will play not with Win7 64-bit, compatible blue screens pointing to the graphics card driver. Tried every update in the Sun, nothing helps, also tried a full system restore with no luck... finally gave up and moved for Win 7 32 bit and stability seems reasonable.

    2. audio crackles with 64 and 32 bit versions of win 7, once again have tried every update under the Sun, including BIOS and full system restore with no luck. Audio is really shocking and it is worth noting that it is not just the speakers, when I use a headset (and joking around, I had plugged a top of the range $300 pair) it still crackles like nothing else.

    3. fell hardware WIFI switch...! ??? Also note that this laptop was not the biggest of any ill treatment and hase has spent most of it is time sitting on a desk at home and not be mobile (which incidentally is therefore what laptops are designed for should be able to handle)

    4. Webcam not centered, he did on my right shoulder looking into no. mans land making it quite impossible to use and type at the same time.

Where I am now... Well I took it to Portacom (west Perth) under warranty that I do not advise anyone to do as disassembled for replacement of the webcam, they were pretty useless, and they were pretty rude about it too.

They said they tested the audio with intensively music with headphones too and can't find anything wrong with that, but yet it still crackles away murdering all my favorite music.

They said that the WIFI hardware switch was caused by abuse, but there is no sign of violence.

They do not have check the blue screen with windows 64-bit issue because I had long since given up that at this time.

I was always a fan of Toshi and that's why I insisted we do a when I upgraded, but it seems he build quality has suffered a little since I finally bought a. I don't think I'll go to another ever again, this machine is wound very badly and has a huge impression cheap on this subject. Even more if you need any technical support, warranty or not, don't bother with Portacom. As I said they are rude and not much help at all really.

    Hey, man

You are right, the A500 series have problems and the most annoying is audio crackles. I bought my round 4 monts ago and hoped that Toshiba should fix bugs of cracking, but it is still exists. I tried all Bios upgrade, reinstalling the driver, registry settings, but still no solution. As I see it, Toshiba is not care we or am I wrong? They have placed the same driver display simply by changing date you output. As for me, I don't often listen to music on my knees, using a portable mp3 player which fortunately not crackling.
But anyway, I love this model. He has a good design, assemblage of powerful and high quality. I hope they fix some bugs in the future

LEADING INNOVATION MUST BE FREE FROM CRACKLING

    Welcome them

  • Message from DynDNS WRT120N abuse

Hi there, I'm having some difficulties with my Linksys WRT120N.

I have a dyndns account and as configured in the DDNS section.

I didn't install local DynDNS client, only the Linksys router should update the dynamic ip address.

The first day, everything worked fine: the investigation period has been updated (manually, say 3 to 4 times and maybe the router itself did - I do not know he has done many times).

Now DynDNS sent me an email indicating that I have abused their service... (for the record: the url still works fine...)

The DDNS tab says that DynDNS recorded the abuse.

We never saw it? Should I update firmware (currently v 1.0.01 - default)?

The router updates the IP regularly (as in: with standard intervals)? Or only when ip address changes?

I just put on the newspaper...

    Thank you!

I think that the router updates the IP address on a regular basis with standard intervals.

You can try to update / re-flashing the firmware on your router.

Connect to the computer with the Ethernet cable to the router.
Download the latest firmware from the site Web of Linksys and save it to your computer. Open the router configuration page. Click the Administration tab and switch to the sub tab upgrade the Firmware through the firmware file that you have already downloaded and update on your router.
After upgrading the firmware on the router, it is recommended that you must reset the router and reconfigure. Press and hold the reset button on the router for 30 seconds. Release the reset button and wait 30 seconds. Power cycle the router and reconfigure.

  • Touchpad 32 GB Causes Reset of the router E4200 Linksys (Cisco)

I just got my new HP Touchpad 32 GB today.  It connects to my home network without any problems.  However, whenever I try to use the App Catalog from HP or to download an application, it causes my Linksys (Cisco) device to reset.  My router has reset about 10 times so far.  Is this a known issue?

I updated the firmware on the router to 1.03 and it always resets on a regular basis.

    Kind regards

Turns out be a faulty Cisco E4200.

  • E4200 Port forwarding

I would like to open a couple of ports in an E4200.

The only option I can find is in the game.  Can I port before a single port as 3389 to a system on the local network, and it works.

The problem is that port 3389 is open on the world now since I can't find a way to only allow traffic on port 3389 from a specific static ip address.

It is a big security problem for me.  I want only the traffic on port 3389 of specific static.

I also noticed that you can't say different two before port 1433 from a static IP address.

I hope that LInksys has a way to do it, or it's really a porrly even designed device for residential users

You can not normally port forward to two or more IP addresses. I've heard some router but can it would be an effect of Robin.

Yes with the firmware on this router Linksys is impossible to specify an external IP address in the port rule forwards. You can change the external port to something, no standard as 10001 and have internal port 3389. The specify the port and the Address\DNS IP in the computer text box office remotely. Ex: my - distance - ip:10001

This will only cause confusion, but perhaps that's pretty and your server security settings is always the final measure.

  • E4200 Bridge Mode

Can someone please point out what I'm doing wrong here...

I have my main router, an E4200v2 which I use as a router and it provides a signal wireless throughout my house, but reception is not as strong on the top floor and there is a slight dead spot, so I bought an E4200 to the top floor.

I put the E4200 to bridge mode so it will act only as an AP.

However connecting two routers LAN LAN and the AP to access internet

Set a static IP address for the router, instead of acquiring one through DHCP causes me not being able to access the admin on the AP page.

WAN connection on the E4200 to the LAN on the v2 does not either.

My goal here is to have my main router on 192.168.1.1 and the AP to 192.168.1.2 where I can access the admin for both routers settings in case I need to make changes.

Can someone point me in the right direction here...

    Thank you

    1. make sure that the cable works properly. To connect to a computer with a port gigabit ethernet for the cable to your main router. Make sure you get a gigabit ethernet connection and a working network connection.

    2. with the bridge mode, you must connect the internet port of the uplink.

3 wire the E4200 second with his internet port to the main router. Wire from one computer to one of the LAN ports. Check if you have internet.

    4. do the E4200 get an IP via DHCP if it was configured to use DHCP? You can find the IP address in the list of your main router DHCP clients.

    5. what exactly do you static ip mode bridge on the second router?

  • E4200 limited to 20Mbps

If I connect my PC with an ethernet to a large modem cable band, I get about 33Mbps performance. If I move my e4200 (connected to the modem), I get 20Mbps. Wireless devices see between 10 Mbps and 17Mbps, most of the time.

I tried to connect the e4200 to all ports on my cable modem. I tried to use several different ethernet cables. I always get only a maximum of 20Mbps through the e4200.

I'm running Cloud Connect/Smart Wifi Linksys firmware 2.1.39.145204 version

I appreciate any suggestions that anyone might have.

Which Service provider Internet do you have? Cable or DSL?
What ISP Internet Modem MFR. and model # you have?
Access provider Internet/Service of Modem uses a dynamic address or static WAN IP?

Check the cable between the Modem and the router, switch to be sure. Link >http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CAT6 is recommended.
Check requirements ISP MTU, cable is usually 1500, DSL is about 1492 to 1472. The ISP and ask.

If the ISP's modem has a built-in router, it is best to fill the modem. Having 2 routers on the same line can cause connection problems: link >http://www.practicallynetworked.com/networking/fixing_double_nat.htm and http://cognitiveanomalies.com/cisco-nat-how-nat-works/.

Test with a prioritization of media or QoS disabled on the router.

A factory reset took place before and after the FW update then set up from scratch?

  • Wireless router Linksys Cisco's E4200 will not connect to Qnap TS - 212 turbo NAS

My Qnap turbo NAS TS - 212 does not work in my home network.

The NAS is connected to a Cisco Linksys E4200 (Gbit port) wireless router and I have a Windows7 PC connected to the router as well.

I can connect to the NAS during init/config (the first minutes before a long beep) but after the bee long SIN disappears from the network. The QNAP Finder can't find the SIN and I cannot ping the NAS server.

What can be the reason causing this loss of connection into the router?

The NAS works when I use a wireless older router SITECOM 54 g router.

Do I need a special in the router config please NAS Qnap TS-212?

you get a light for the ethernet port you have the NAS connected to? the ethernet connection can be registered not that could be the reason why the SIN is not detectable.

you have the NAS set to an ip address static or is it to dhcp? If the dhcp, check the table of the router DHCP clients to verify if the NAS is networked and assign an IP address. you have reset your NAS? You may need to do. also, on the side of the router firmware may need to be updated to fix bugs that the current version could have. Go to the Page of Support E4200 to the latest vesion. You can also check for the latest firmware for your SIN.

  • E4200 restarts whenever I'm using AirPlay between 5 GHz mode to Airport Express MBP 2.4 GHz mode

I just confirmed that whenever I try to listen to music from my MacBook Pro (iTunes), which is connected to my wireless network using the 5 GHz mode (the channel width is Auto, channel: Auto (DFS)) to a couple Airport Express cubes are connected via the 2.4 GHz WiFi (channel width: Auto, channel: 10) the E4200 router restarts.  When I put the MBP for use the 2.4 GHz I can listen to music without causing the E4200 to restart.  The E4200 is the firmware 1.0.03 running.

Connect to the web interface of the router. Under "application and gaming tab", click the sub-tab "QoS" and deselect "support WMM.

  • E4200 - Wireless die channels 2,4 / 5 GHz when I watch IPTV.

The E4200 work very well, iphone 3gs / s galaxy on channels 2,4 ghz and the Sony Vaio on the 5 GHz channel.  I have a satellite/iptv receiver connected to the E4200.  Whenever I have switch from satellite to IPTV channel, stream of the channel of the TV is fine but I lose channels wireless on the E4200, until I have restart the router.

I placed a 5 port gigabit switch between my Internet (100 MB Fast Ethernet) and the E4200 and plugged the E4200 and IPTV receiver directly in the gigabit 5 switch ports.  When I'm connected like that IPTV and E4200 wireless are fine and don't give up.

I am running the latest firmware 1.0.02 and I do not use media/usb port.

    Thanks for the link.

I replaced the switch Gigabit 5 port Netgear that I had previously suspended behind the E4200 with a Linksys SE2800 switch and it seems to be very good at the moment.   I have the pc, iptv, the nas connected to the SE2800 and the SE2800 plugged into the E4200.  IPTV and the wireless is working, no abandonment so far.

I don't know what was really going on, perhaps the netgear switch is going bad and causing problems with the E4200.  Has either been thanks for your help reloving this problem.

  • Since the upgrade to Sierra MediaLibraryService is causing a memory leak

    Hello.

I upgraded to Sierra, since as soon as Itunes is launched, the com.apple.medialibraryservice is originally a large memory leak, it keeps in ram more until she takes all (16 GB) and significantly slows down the computer.

I tried to reset the nvram and smc memory, doesn't change anything.

Does anyone have an idea on what is causing this leak and is there a solution?

Yes, I noticed this also. After that I opened iTunes, it's just a matter of time before all the memory gets used up and all departure is wobbly. In particular, bluetooth really gets bug after a certain time, and as soon as I quit iTunes, that's fine.

I noticed a problem with macOS Sierra running on a Mid 2015 15 "MacBook Pro with the retina display. Sometimes when I press F3 to access presentation and my several computers desktop computer freezes and goes back to the login screen.

When I log in, it's like I started a new session and the apps I had open start back once again, but with their wiped sessions. This happens to me about 3 times in a day's work, most of the time that exposed works very well. Very strange!

Did anyone else encounter this problem at all?

    Hi there, stvwlkr!

Thank you for joining the communities Support from Apple! Looks like you are having problems with the Mission control. I know how important it is to make sure that it works correctly. What you might want to try is then a specific restart. Read this article for trying safe mode if your Mac does not end commissioning. Although this article is about the computer does not start correctly, it can also perform repairs and stop startup items that can cause problems.

Another option you can try is in this article: How to test a problem in another user on your Mac account. This will allow you to check to see if the problem is specific to the user or the system-wide.

    See you soon!
