EA4500 bad range on 5.0 GHz

Well, I spent last night a new WIFI router on my home network installation. I had problems from the start. I discovered that Linksys had changed their on their routers default IP address since I installed my previous router, a Linksys also. So I had used their installation utility to set up the router again. That's when I found the change of the IP address. The Linksys configuration utility is not the most friendly utility.

Finally got the new router configuration. I went to bed and when I went to check the weather forecast for today, I found new router WIFI signal strength was much lower than my old router.

Eventually re - install my old router. I can't return the new router now because I threw the box for the router. Guess he will sit on the Board a spare part if required.

My Verizon DSL modem has the IP 'normal' to 192.168.1.

Once I got the new router configured I could access the configuration screen

by typing 10.163.119.100 in my browser.

But thanks for the advice so.  He is going back to Newegg on AM.

I'll just stick with my E3000 for now.

    You are the very welcome.

That is right.  No 'a' doesn't = No 5 GHz.

I can't explain why you thought you saw other 5 GHz networks on your PC.

The only wireless networks that should be visible on your PC are only in the 2.4 GHz band, because it's all Ralink card in your model can see.

You might be able to replace the card with a wireless card dual band but I can't say for sure.  Some PC have a BIOS lock that prevents users from installing a different wireless card.

You would have to make sure your PC has two antennas connected to the current Ralink wireless card because all dual-band cards have at least two terminals of the antenna to connect to.

I would say the best thing you can do would be to go to your local office supply store and pick up a wireless network adapter dual band USB external.

They now power USB wireless adapters, so you can get one of these.

You wouldn't have any compatibility or hardware issues with an external USB card and not worry about BIOS locks or the number of antennas inside your PC.

    Hello

    I'm at the Canada

I am trying to configure an AIRONET 1310 with INTEGRATED antenna

The range I get is ugly (50 feet off the signal completely)

I have it configured by default except:

-in the network interfaces: Radio0-802. 11 g setting

-I changed default value of best range DATA FLOWS

    Hello

Model 1300 integrated antenna comes with an antenna gain 13dBi vertically polarized. The width of the beam is 36 ° E-plane by 38 ° H-plane.

    Here is the range-

    Americas

    • 865 feet (260 m) at 54 Mbps

    • 3465 feet (1055 m) at 11 Mbps

    ETSI

    • 150 feet (45 meters) to 54 Mbps

    • 775 feet (235 m) at 11 Mbps

    TELEC

    • 485 feet (145 meters) at 54 Mbps

    • 1095 feet (330 m) at 11 Mbps

If the range of what you get is far too low.

Please check the orientation of the AP, the antenna is polarized vertically.

If the AP must be mounted vertically.

Second, make a note to the beam width 36 ° E-plan by 38 ° H-plane. Make sure that all your clients are only in this coverage area. If its an open area and that you probably want coverage for global client area I wouldn't go to this access point is a sector antenna is not coverage in all 360 ° H-plan.

    Hi guys

I just bought this linksys EA6400 (ac1600) the router and im having a lot of trouble with her

im getting the power of the signal very poor and poor networkspeed on speedtest.net because of this

Ive got 100/10 cable, but wireless 2.4 ghz (ive not yet 5 GHz of adapters) im only get 10mbits on speedtest and sometimes worst way only 5mbits and its only 4 meters (13 feet) away (2/5 bars signal strength on my devices)

im getting the same or better performance with my old router e1000

    what I tried:

-The routers to the latest version firmware update

-updated drivers on PCs and laptops in my area

-tried other channels 2,4 ghz with no luck at all im getting worse performance on 1.6 and 11 if I leave it in the car, it is the best

-ive tried to disable the transfer of cutting hollow

-adjust the width of the channel to only 20 mhz

    -n only wireless network mode

    -factory reset

    -priority implementation of media

all this he has not improved

    My settings for the moment:

-all on the car to 2.4 ghz page

    -no priority media

-rest of my settings are auto adjustment

What should I do? return the router for an asus router or something?

    any help would be appreciated

5 GHz is no choice because my pc, the laptop and the phone does not support the 2.4 ghz I will modernize the PC and laptop adapters CA / CC 5 GHz

my phone should be ok, but I think my older e1000 router was acually better at 2.4 ghz

What Protocol (b/g/n) wireless devices are connecting to the EA6400 with?

In the connection status of the client devices window, which is listed as the connection speed (54 Mbps, 150mbps, etc.)?

The link below has some good information about the wireless channel width:

FAQ of SmallNetBuilder Wireless: the essential

This article does not take into account changes to the rule of co-existence 20 Mhz Wireless. Essentially if a 20 Mhz signal is detected by the router in the range of 2.4 Ghz router is to drop her at 20 Mhz channel width, which will reduce speeds in two.

The best solution is to upgrade the client machines to 5 GHz.

    Other things to try:

    1. Support WMM Enable\Disable (I recommend it be enabled if no improvement is noticed with this option disabled)
    2. Activate Media prioritization with a parameter to 100000 Kbps downstream bandwidth and keep all devices\apps to normal priority to start
    3. Only use WPA2 Personal wireless security
    4. Set the Protocol Wireless 2.4 Ghz "N only.
  • Can I choose 40 MHz to 5.2 GHz and 20 MHz to 2.4 GHz channels at the same time?

I have a WLC 5508 and 3500 6 LAP at the head office, 2 to another office and 2 to another office.

I noticed that even when I specify 5.2 GHz on my (Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6230) wireless adapter it indicates the data rate is 144 Mbit/s.  I want to try to get 300 Mbps out of it and I think I need to enable 40 MHz wide channels in the range 5.2 GHz.  Well, I don't want to cause any disturbance to the network currently associated clients.  What can I do?  What happens if a client adapter does not support the wide 40 MHz channels?  Then I keep 2.4 GHz at 20 MHz wide channels, and then they would just connect to the frequency range of 2.4 GHz?

Where would I go to change the width of the channel of 5.2 GHz only?  It is defined globally or I put it for each access point?  I saw a button radio for 20 MHz or 40 MHz to this place: Wireless > 802. 11A / n > RRM > DCA

That's where I'd do the settings to change?  If I would work the clients on the network briefly?  Do 802.11n 40 MHz channels are supported by all adapters with 5.2 GHz radios?

Looking at the use of the string with a program called inSSIDer 3, there is nothing past in the band 5 GHz except for us.

Thanks for the help.  Just trying to get the best possible flow that I've had a few requests SMB based respond slowly or poorly when on... wireless connections even when the operating system reports 144 Mbps.

  • 802.11AC

I have an extreme Apple (latest version) which is ac 802.11. I keep in a room near the kitchen. In the living room, I have an Apple Express, and this is the 1st version. Turning to 802.11n and I have an ATV 4th Gen connected to it. In the House, I have another Apple Express, also 1st version and I also have an ATV 4th Gen connected to it.

I have the latest iPad Pro and MacBook 12 inches. These run to ac 802.11.

The two expresses it is connected to "Extend the wireless network" in Airport utility.

My question is, if the extreme works in 802.11ac and (2) Express with 802.11n, am I get full speed/bandwidth or do I need to get rid of the Express and maybe get another Apple Extreme 802.11ac?

Thank you very much. I appreciate it.

My question is, if the extreme works in 802.11ac and (2) Express with 802.11n, am I get full speed/bandwidth or do I need to get rid of the Express and maybe get another Apple Extreme 802.11ac?

The Express Gen1 are single band... and more than likely using 2.4 ghz which is also limited in Apple routers to 150Mbps max... so with wireless extension of the Max speed which is normally about 60Mbps (wireless is half - duplex to half the link speed and then a little less for inefficiency) around 30Mbps (half of the half) is what you can expect. Even then, it might be much slower if the wireless signal is weak.

Measure and see... More valid numbers are your own results. What speeds you get when connected to an express with a computer of the usual speedtest.com.

Now, if you have internet slow... for example ADSL I have with a top speed of about 6 Mbps, then buy the best equipment will not increase an iota of internet speed. However if you need better local lan speed or your internet connection is faster than 30Mbps routers purchases better wireless CAN help.

I say MAY because AC wireless has bad range... While it can give very high speed he falls too quickly...

There is only one way fully guaranteed to get the bandwidth... Ethernet.

If you are not able or not willing to install ethernet... any other method is the luck of the draw.

    Hello

To be honest I m not very well what problem you have.
I see that you have bought Intel 5350 WiMAX card and updated the Portege M400

I found info on the page than the Intel WiMAX/WiFi Link 5350 Intel and Intel WiMAX/WiFi Link 5150 are family of network adapters wireless IEEE 802.16e and 802.11a/b/g/Draft-N1 which operates in the range of 2.5 GHz for ghosts of WiMAX and 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz for WiFi.

  • Attach a current 50 Ohm with CMOS port hungry VCO

    Hello world

This is our first post on NEITHER.

    1. We are working on the design of a current hungry VCO using the parameters of the model TSMC 180 nm. The problem we are facing is by attaching a port 50 ohms for the observation of its release. The port of 50 Ohm collapses at the exit, while a port GOhm 50 gives a good yield with good swing.   We need a port of 50 Ohm to check the power spectrum of output oscillator noise, tuning range, etc..  We do not understand what is happening.

    2. In the example of the ring oscillator AWR, an output capacitor was used to measure the output. Why is it used?

Here, too, a port of 50 Ohm collapses exit, while a port GOhm 50 provides a good return. We work for the range of frequencies; 1 GHz to 6 GHz. is it possible for the impedance of 50 ohm for all frequencies port?

We are attaching the circuit diagram. Please help us.

The output power is almost nil, because P = V ^ 2 / R and the charge is such a great resistance.  Therefore, the power consumed is actually the sum of the power delivered by the power of DC voltage, which is actually the liveries of the source of the V1 power (other sources provide very little energy).  The measure of your choice is non-linear > power > PT, measured using solenoid. V1, with DC_V.V3 to be used for the x-axis.

    Hi all

I'm new to labview and the communication kit, so I'm trying to test the examples.

When the example of 'Rx Continuous Sync or Async' opening and it works I get the same output on the "power spectrum".
i'm checking different frequencies in the range of 1.2 GHz to 6 GHz.

How is it possible then that there is nothing transmitted? -> checking with the android application for wifi channels (channels 1 to 8 are used, all others are not...) and yet labview gives me the same result... Hey insiderbe,

I did some research on the Ettus forum and found the following:
    https://lists.gnu.org/archive/HTML/discuss-gnuradio/2010-08/msg00237.html
    https://www.Ruby-Forum.com/topic/214890

I suspect that the IPS you see on 0Hz is the DC offset that is introduced to the ADC of the USRP N210. We can confirm this by removing air and closing the RX. If the tip is still there, it's a feature of the analog input circuit.

Brian of Ettus recommends tuning your frequency slightly out of your signal of interest and using a high pass filter to remove DC offset. I recommend looking at the second link for more information.

With respect to obtaining the value of art through many different frequencies, I think that it is a property of the antenna used. The VERT900 is valid from 824-960 MHz and 1710-1990 MHz. can you listen to one of these groups and test your power, even if you have a known signal? You have another USRP generator or a function to generate a known signal?

    https://www.ettus.com/product/details/VERT900

My last concern use the N210 with the CBX in LabVIEW Communications. According to the Readme, it's an unsupported hardware configuration, which means that R & D has not tested the configuration, and we do not know how the configuration will occur.

  • Question of fluctuating speed video WRT320N

I have read a lot of posts on this forum and I have maybe there's no help for it, but I thought I'd try.  Please read them all, as I have tried several things found on this forum.

I have a WRT320N I bought several months ago.  I seem to have problems especially when you try to use the same videoconferencing as Skype, Yahoo or MSN.

When I'm on the 'wired' computer on my network, all right.  On my laptop, these programs do not work wll at all.  My laptop has a b/g/n wireless capability.

Although the quality of the signal is always excellent, I can watch the speed fluctuates anywhere from 72-144 Mbps.  144 is on it.

I have my setup of router to mixed 2 .4GHz, 20 MHz of bandwidth, with WPA2-Personal Security.  I tried almost every channel there is.

I tried WPA secruity and my speed dropped to 54Mbps... and remained strong thus... no fluctuation at all.  However, I got the same performance with above programs.

I also, as we see displayed a million times on this site, changed the tag to 75 interval and the thresholds of Fragmentation and RTS to 2304.

Nothing seems to change the performance of the router.  Currently, I'm writing this, I am less than 20 feet from the router and look the speed change regularly... earlier it is passed to 144 Mbps 65 less than a second, then slowly back up, then down again...

NOTE: I have flashed the Firmware to V1.0.03 build 010 as a month when working on this issue, and who was the latest firmware then.

    (3) wireless 4965AGN adapter is known to operate at only 54 Mbps with WEP or WPA with TKIP.  So you are right, it seems that you should not use WPA2 (WPA with AES =).   See this URL for more info on the 4965AGN:

    http://www.Intel.com/support/wireless/WLAN/4965AGN/sb/CS-025643.htm

Most of the phones '5 GHz' will not interfere with the band "5 GHz" to your router, because usually, they use different bands in the 5 GHz range.   Some 5 GHz phones also use the 2.4 GHz band, and which usually does not interfere with your router.  So, try to unplug the phone and see if that solves your problem.  Microwave ovens only seem to cause problems when they are turned on, so it is usually obvious what the cause of your problem.

To see this channel using your neighbors, to highlight their SSID, and then select "Properties".  Sometimes, there is a button for this.  Sometimes he must right click on the SSID, then select "Properties".  Sometimes you have to doubleclick the SSID and actually connect.    In some cases, software wireless adapter does not display an info channel.  After you find that your neighbors using, if possible, try to stay + 5 or - 5 channels of your more powerful neighbors.  If you can not say this channel using your neighbors, then simply try channels 1, 6 or 11 and see what works best.

Also try to again set the "width" to "large", '40 MHz' or 'Auto '.  With this, remove your standard and wide strips at least 2 channels for example, regularly try wide ring on 9 / 11.

    I hope this helps.

  • Typical range of 5 GHz?

    Hello

I have a question about the typical range for the GH 5 band.

I have a router dual-band of EA3500 and a WES610N dual-band universal connector of media spaced 30 feet apart - the router is on the second floor, the media connector is on the first floor.

All the floors are wood frame (no framing of concrete or metal).

I know that I have no problems with the 5 GHz signal, however, it seems that the Media connector uses the 2.4 GHz band.

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you

    Bill

I agree with with 5 GHz band Saber-toothed. In order to use the 5 GHz range, I recommend placing the WES610n 15 feet to 20 feet away from the router. You can use for the channel width of 40 Mhz and 149 for the channel on your router wireless. This wireless configuration works for me.

For the WES610N, simply use static IP for it and manually enter settings wireless on the configuration of the gateway to entertainment page. 5 GHz is ideal for heavy network like video streaming, online games and download.

    I hope this info helps

  • Bad speed of wireless internet on EA4500

Hello everyone. I have an ea4500 wireless router, I tested the speed at speedtest.net and wireless, I get around 9 Mbit/s. My speed is 23 MB/s when I hard wired the pc.

I check the speed on a Tablet (), pc and a mac about 5 feet away from the router with no walls or something between the two devices.

I checked all the settings, but I don't see anything wrong, I've changed to N mode just to make sure that I use the top speed.

All my devices are able to use N.

My experience on this is not good and that's why I ask your help, thanks a lot.

Redefine the Mode Wireless on joint. 2.4 GHz settings, change the width of the channel to 20 MHz only and select a specific channel. Recommended channel would be 1, 6 or 11. Download inSSIDer to find out which channel is not too crowded. Follow the link provided by jlbjlb.

Another thing that could affect the wireless connection is the location of the router. Make sure that it is on an open and superior location. Make sure it is not next to a metal object or other device which transmits/receives/frequency of the wireless signal. Also, make sure that it is not too close to your modem.
