Edit the template in Dreamweaver

I always put < head > part of page in my template, that this part is the same on all pages using this template. But I said now the Meta keywords to match keywords on the individual pages, so how now do this part of the model is the model? Without having to start from scratch. Sorry bit confusing, but can't seem to get my head around it.

Dreamweaver must be automaticlaly created an editable region between the <> tags for you.

Should look like in your template file below main .dwt?

You can insert tags in this region which obviously do anything as this is inserted between them editable on every page, made from the model.

If you do not have an editable region of the 'head' in your .dwt file, then you can just create one by inserting tags above all in thePut them directly before the closing tag. When recording this will be reflected in all pages that have been made to the .dwt file.

By the way the keyword meta tag is largely ignored by these days search engine spiders, so including that appears not tag so important meta although if you feel that you need, then there is no bad either.

  • How to edit the template for the briefing?

    Hi all

    Does anyone know how to edit the template for the briefing?

    The version I used is 11.1.1.6.5

    What exactly you are trying to change in the template? The Table of contents can be edited like this: http://total-bi.com/2012/09/briefing-book-table-of-contents-page/

    Please check if useful/correct.

  • Double click to edit the template is double the width of the container div...

    Hi, has anyone seen this before - when I opened my master, the first time I click into it, everything gets selected. When I double click to edit the model, the width of the container div (that surrounds my page) double size. When I check the width properties page or on my CSS stylesheet, it displays the original width of 989 px, but when I scroll on the container in design mode, it displays 989px (1 985 px).

    I have not saved this to my Web page, but I can't edit the template. Anyone know why this is happening?

    Thank you!

    Wendy

    The symptom of having to double-click to edit is almost a diagnosis for a container of an overflow: hidden style applied.  Is this the case?

    Yep - I can see that it is-

    #Container {
         font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
         font-size: 12px;
         color: #FFF;
         width: 989px;
         margin: 0 auto;
         overflow: hidden;
         background-color: #CFDEE2;
         height: auto;
    }

    The doubling of the width thing is only a function of the display - I think you may be getting used to and know that this happens only in the mode Design of DW.  I assume you are using the overflow so that the container contains properly its floats?  Have you tried floating the container in place?  A floating element always contains its floats, too.  If you float it instead, you will need to have an another wrapper around her who centers, as a floating element will not also focus.

  • to edit the template for an application

    I did my first app on the platform provided Oracle test.

    I chose the model without tab. Now, I know that I need the tabs. I don't find a way to change the template assigned to an application.

    Is it really possible or not?

    Kind regards
    RAM...

    Raghav,

    If you just want to change the template to the page in question, go to edit page and in the display attributes, select the model you want, by default, the Application-level default. To change the default back to home request template > Application Builder > request # > shared components > themes > theme create/change and there you can change the default values.

  • How to put all the pages using the template has to use the template B?

    I use Dreamweaver CS4 Web.

    I inherited a website which uses Dreamweaver templates.  In the site, the previous site administrator used several different models for different sections of the site.

    I am trying to redesign the site to use PHP include to reduce the bloating of the site.  Therefore, I am trying to edit the template for all pages of the site to the new one that I designed.  I have not found a way to do this.  I can select the pages individually and change their models, but I have not found a way to make an update of the model of batch processing.  Is there a way to do this?  If this is not the case, can anyone think of a better way to standardize the site rather than update individual templates?

    You would certainly add the editable area of the title.  Each page should have a specific page for optimal exposure title SE.  Without this editable region, you wouldn't be able to create specific page titles.

    -Add the editable area of the title.  Now your two models have the same number of editable regions, each with the same name.

    Then all you have to do is to close * all * files DW.  Then do a search and replace-

    FIND-

    /Templates/template_A.dwt

    REPLACE-

    /Templates/template_B.dwt

    First, make a backup of the entire site.

    Finally, open template_B, make a negligible change and reverse the trend.  Save template_B and update the entire site.  That should do the trick.

  • The locked regions Dreamweaver CC. Templates are editable in fact...

    I am new to Dreamweaver.

    I did a Dreamweaver template, a table, I closed all areas outside of 1 part in the middle of the table of 3 x 6, which is where I want the content to go.

    Problem is any part of my model is considered non-editable, but they can be really changed when I go to my actual pages.

    So when I update the model the real pages don't update, since all this is somehow changed.

    Anyone know what it could be?

  • CSS styles disappear when the template is applied to a new page in dreamweaver cs5

    Mac OS 10.6.8

    Dreamweaver CS5

    Please bear with me as I'm not familiar with coding and usually work in design mode.

    I was faced with the menu bar drop-down menu with Spry horizontal and finally managed to do look like I want it to look. I have inserted in my template page. When I saw in the browser, it seems to work correctly. So far so good.

    When I apply the template to a page, all the CSS style disappeared (without defined styles or applied properties)

    in Design view. In Live View mode, it seems OK. Unfortunately, I've updated several pages, and all have the same problem.

    Can someone please? I'm at my wits end!

    Thank you very much.

    Kathleen

    Thank you very much, Nancy.

    Previously, I always applied a model to a page by clicking Edit/models/apply a page template. He has always worked in the past before you insert a menu bar horizontal Spry. That seems to have created the problem.

    Your suggestion was very helpful. Now, I can at least see the styling (although not the Spry bar menu style). I'll have to re-do about 8 pages, but it's a much smaller mountain to climb now.

    Thanks a lot for your help.

  • How to remove the template and editable regions?

    Hello world

    I posted this question earlier in the area of discussion web to ignore a specific Dreamweaver forum. Sorry for posting in two places.

    Since last week, I learned Dreamweaver CS4 to an on-line tutorial. I got to the place where I have generated a model (index.dwt) homepage (index.html) and created boxes on it. At that moment, I realized that I had done all the steps of the Rota and that he didn't really absorb what I was doing. I wanted to delete the model to repeat and acquire a better understanding of the process. When I tried to remove the editable regions (change-models-remove editable regions), I was unable to do so because 'remove the editable regions' is gray. Nor I was able to remove the html code. I tried to delete the template itself, but when I did, the index.html page kept these editable regions! Can someone tell me if there is a way to get back to the place I was forward to create the model?

    Thank you for any assistance.

    All you need to do is detach the template index.html file.  Then you can remove the template and start all over again.

    Go to the menu change--> models--> detach the model

    I have a question comparing Dreamweaver and Muse.  Can I create a website with Muse, then learn Dreamweaver, and edit the site Web of Muse?  Or would I need to start over with a new Web site based on Dreamweaver?

    I went the same route. I started to want to learn web design and the Muse is an excellent tool. The code it generates, however, not to use it in Dreamweaver. This could be done, I think this isn't worth it, even for a real Geek. Once you get to Muse you will find there are things missing, stuff, you want to do, but are just tough in Muse or you can buy a widget. It is possible in DW and you get which through subscription, so it makes sense. Me what I know now, I'll go directly to DW to learn, except if you want results right now. If you don't want something to cause I stay with Muse and maybe learn to animate CC to add some pizazz to the site. If you only want a simple layout and a couple supporting stick with Muse pages if you want a larger site use DW. Good luck and check out this page to Muse on Google Plus Adobe Muse for beginners - community - Google +...

  • Edit the file .php using Dreamweaver 8?

    Here's a doozy.  I just need to slightly edit a PHP in Dreamweaver 8, but have no experience in PHP, nor can I even find a way to find the file.  Creating standard applies: we are on a limited (read: zero) budget so I can't upgrade, I'm pretty ignorant on this stuff (obviously), the need is immediate, as always, and I don't currently have the ability to take a class.  Any guidance is appreciated.  Thank you.

    Hi Fred -.

    I don't see no php in your code.

    Your Javascript-based menu comes from this Web site

    Dynamic Drive DHTML Scripts - all levels navigational Menu

    and you should find all the info you need in their instructions.

    I'm guessing that you will find your scripts menu in a folder called _Resources

    A script is here

    http://littledudes.com/_Resources/ddsmoothmenu.js

    and you can find other Javascripts and CSS files there, which pourrait might be changed to make the desired changes.

    But it seems that your changes can be made by changing list items in your HTML code.

    Might be a good time to convert to SSI (Server Side Includes) as long as you have to recode each page with a menu anyway. \

  • Changing colors of link in the Template Dreamweaver CS5

    Hi all

    It is probably a very simple question, as I'm pretty familiar with Dreamweaver and work on my second site.

    However, I would like to change the color of the link is not the usual blue.

    I've changed this in my model through change - properties Page - links

    However, this changed in the model, but not the rest of the html pages created from the template

    Could someone let me know how to do this please?

    Thank you

    The best way to change the link colors is to define in your external stylesheet...

    a: link {color: #333333 ;}}

    a: visited {color: #444444 ;}}

    a: hover {color: #555555 ;}}

    a: active {color: #666666 ;}}

  • Columns in the Pages of Dreamweaver CS3 templates appears correctly in IE8

    I have a site that has the most pages created with a page template that displays three columns below the navigation bar (including a small column to the left for the logo at the top of the table has four columns).  Page home (index.html - no the model) shows the columns as well as the pages of model correctly, but all pages created with the model show the first column as a means of scaling and the two columns as much too narrow.

    I searched the internet for a solution, but my knowledge of HTML is limited, it is almost impossible for me to find even a relevant forum topic, and still less a viable solution.  All I want is the template pages to three visible columns below the navigation bar to display the same width as those of index.html.

    I work on a mac, and the pages all preview them correctly in Safari, Firefox etc, but not in IE8 on Windows 7 machines.

    I tried rather indelicately push the different bits of code to set the width of the columns and make orders such as table-layout = fixed, etc., but absolutely no effect.

    The site is: www.southoverfoods.com

    If anyone can help I will be grateful.

    You don't want to fix the errors-

    http://validator.w3.org/check?URI=http%3A%2f%2Fwww.southoverfoods.com%2Fabout.html&charset = % 28detect + automatically 29% & doctype = Inline & group = 0

    Most is simple.

    If you view the page in IE9 and click the compatibility, rendering looks like right.  Unfortunately, I can't force this rendering with all accepted uses of meta tag!

    So I'm a bit confused what to do...

    If someone could help with this, I would be very grateful, I was pulling my hair.

    I can fix it kind of in copy/paste the code in a new "page template" and removing code duplication but then I need to update the model and it happens all over again

    What can I say? Your Template.dwt file is broken.

    Maybe it would be easier to start over.  Or if you work with the code, open the Template.dwt file and fix mode code by removing the duplicate document.
