  I have this laptop and my hard drive is brokenn with the serious accident, yet I could not open my pc because I have no operating system on it, so I couldn't run a test on my laptop program.

  Now I decided to buy Solid State Disk, in addition to my HARD drive but I want to know if it is compatible with SATA III or not. I searched on google but there is not enough information about me, but for others, it fits.

  Is someone could if please tell me that my motherboard can support SATA III or not?

  You can, but you shouldn't. The port for the optical drive is a SATA-I have the interface. Slower than the port for HDD/SSD. So if you want to just add storage put a regular mechanical training in an optical drive adapter. Also any drive in the optical drive adapter will not be bootable. This will help you:

  Hi all!

  I bought the HP ENVY 15 t-j000 Quad Edition and opted for the WSSD 24Go cache as well as the hybrid drive 1 TB. Do I have a problem just buy a kit of cloning and spend the hybrid propulsion system to a full on SSD in the future if I choose to?

  I did some research but I can't isolate an answer if yes or no I might encounter problems on account of the Intel RST be "associated" with the traditional HARD drive caching.

  So I wonder if I can't just simply disable acceleration of RST, clone HARD drive for an SSD via a cloning kit, remove the HARD and the SSD drive and call it a day?

  Any help with this is appreciated!

  Well, I think a pure 2.5 "SSD should work on the system but make sure the cache is removed. For the purposes of cloning, I suggest using the DD command:

  I replaced my hard drive Windows 8.1 with a PNY 240 GB SSD and Windows 7 64-bit.  Everything worked very well! Installed all the drivers, everything has worked very well!  Restarted several times, everything worked fine!  Portable stop for the night, the next morning I turn on the laptop and get this error message:

  I've traveled different repair procedures using the ERD Windows 7 without change.  I have reinstalled Windows 7 with SSD formatted as GPT drive, received the same error message:

  Okay, I'm running.  In the System Configuration UEFI clicked 'Load HP Factory Default keys', this restored "Secure Boot" who has restored the laptop as long as you work!  Thanks for the help.

  I don't want to talk negatively about a manufacturer's product, but it is a fact that we saw a few compatibility issues raised here on the Forum about an old series of SSD Crucial, the MX which is not what you're asking about. I have used other than the MX series Crucial SSD successfully, but they are not my first choice. Crucial is a very reputable company and will remain fully behind their product. If they say it is compatible you aren't risking anything to try it.

  I'm having a problem when adding an extra mSATA SSD for my HP Envy 1002tx model.

  The laptop comes with a 500 GB HARD drive and I see that there is a 2.5 "mSATA SSD slot under the HARD drive, so I bought the same type of SSD and installed it but when I turn on the laptop, it does not introduce yourself. I don't know why?

  I want to have an SSD for boot up the laptop and HARD drive to store animals.

  If anyone knows if there is any software I have to install in order for the laptop to recognize the SSD?

  I'm really sorry, I could not find this before, but the slot under the hard drive is not compatible with the mSATA disks. It's for WWAN modules! Your laptop is not like 4 I thought, but Envy 14 equipped with the first generation of Intel processors. Envy 14-Sandy Bridge 2000 series could be BIOS modded to make the miniPCI-e interface works with the mSATA disks but Envy 14-1000 series is not possible to change.

  Yes, you can add it. A 160 GB ssd is listed as compatible, but I think that the ability is not limited.

  What I did when I replaced my hard drive with an ssd has been to perform a new installation of Windows (same version) using the product number (do not register Windows online!) at the bottom of the laptop. Then I waited a message to record the OS and saved on the phone. Maybe a recovery reduced image created in the HP Recovery Manager can restore the system of origin on an SSD. These are usually smaller than the original hard drives and the recovery process ends with an error with the original image recovery disks.

  Edit: you will need a support (in case you want to keep the old hdd in the secondary hard drive Bay) etc so the right part number is: 681976-001. Run the part number on google or ebay to get it.

  Glancing configurations to build a new office, I read so many articles on the use of SSDS for PS CS5 I am now confused.

  I would use a disk for OS & programs and a 2nd for a working PS disc.  I'm looking at 80 GB or 120 GB to fit my budget.  Or the other of these sizes will be suitable for both drives. I noticed that Intel just lowered their price today and added the 120 GB drive.

  I use WD hard drives to a storage drive and another for a scratch disk (4 internal drives total) that the functions of the computer for the Internet, the family also.  Now, I store my main Lightroom catalogs and photos on an external drive so I can move them between my desktop and laptop.  My interests of PS are usually 6-8 photos (layers) and string photos together collages for landscapes.  Lightroom did a lot of my settings other than editing.  I'm looking at 8 MB of RAM for now, once again for the budget.

  There are a lot of ways differnet to manage this issue none of them are easier than the other...

  I just did this like a month ago and here's what I did. Note * I do not mean you follow my steps, but you can do something similar in price range much lower

  I have an OCZ RevoDrive 110 GB SSD as my main operating system drive and program files directory.

  second round of reader is a pair of 10krpm 300 GB raptor disks striped for a gd 600 data drive.

  I have a 2 x 2 TB hard drives that are my archives, but I keep them offline.

  Now, here's where things get complicated.

  You want to write to your as little as possible for the longevity of SSDS for most. so the first thing is that you don't want no swapper, no defrag automatic and several other parameters of spacific SSDS like hibernation etc, if you have been doing research, you already know all this.

  Now, I took that and went one step further and this is not something you want to do unless you are comfortable and extreeeemly with playing with the operating system configurations.

  I have during the BONE building put all my user data from the program directories, set the swap the hard drive Assembly of physical data as well as the drive working PS, caches Internet etc...

  This make sure my boot and main program files drive never gets written at least that there is an update or I install something.

  The second physical disk manages all the changing data. Profiles user, personal settings, desktop, etc.

  Does a number of things for me, everything launches and runs extreemly quickly it takes seconds for the start on dektop apps launching with hesitation. It allows me to use a smaller SSD to house all my OS and applications while limiting does not my amount of data I can keep on my desktop or documents folder.

  I've only used 35 concerts out of the ssd 110 gig install all my apps and the os, including several very big games.

  If I had to do it again I would do it exactly the same way.

  Now, if you're not so much confidence in the skills of your OS and simply want an SSD for extreme speed, it will provide you.  I suggest to use only a single SSD again and use a second physical drive.

  Several reasons, it's a heck of a lot cheaper.

  Place your scratch, your file swapper OS disk (ssd doesn't have a swap file, but unless you have a godless ammount of memory, you should always have a certain place), temporary and internet directories explore cache locations on the physical disk. Also to store your data on it.

  SSD are too expensive to use for data storage or swap/scratch readers at this point and he does not buy you anything wise speed to use it as a cache or temp files. also when you simply store images you don't need than extreemly fast you will not see a difference notable opening physical photo hd or SSD just not that much data.

  One last thing, unless your in a rush extreem, I wanted to wait 6 months.  with SATA 3 and USB 3 come around and watch already on most of the new cards mothers, new faster SSD and physical disks will be making their way to the market fast enough.

  I want to perform a clean build - I have a new licensed copy of Windows 10 Pro.

  I bought a disc of Kingston after some research online, but subsequently discovered Kingston declaring that they do not support the use of this device in my laptop.

  Toshiba customer support put me on "Topaz", which recommended product + service (though not an SSD!) cost more than 250 pounds. For that price I can get a replacement of like-for-like of the laptop under warranty!

  I'm looking for a simple option where I can buy a SSD and do the installation myself. 250 GB to 500 GB for the region of £60ish.

  The SSD can be used instead of the HARD disk.
  The handles for laptop and SATA 2.5 9.5 mm height HDD.
  For me, this means that you can also use a height of 2.5 9.5 mm SATA SSD drive.

  The SATA controller is compatible with the latest standards.
  This means that you will be able to use the fastest SSD drive. But of course the SSD drive performance (data transfer speed) will be pointing down to the same standard supported by the controller.

  The specifications of your laptop do not indicate that you have an SSD. You may have a hybrid drive that has a cache of flash 8 GB built-in player for faster access, but this isn't a separate volume that holds its own files, just a different part of the reader. HP sold never, to my knowledge, laptops with an 8 GB SSD. You probably also a HP recovery partition on your hard drive. According to the specifications, the hard drive only your machine is a 1 to 5400 RPM mechanical hard drive standard.

  Unfortunately, access to the hard drive Bay is very difficult and forbidden to an end user. In other words, it will jeopardize the warranty. If you are past the warranty and want to remedy let us know. You can replace the mechanical drive with a 2.5 inch SATA SSD and your laptop will be much faster if you do. There is also a slot of the WSSD m2 on the laptop, to complicate things more, but use it to add a SSD and boot of it is even more difficult. Have any kind of SSD in laptop computer that is not the boot drive make not much sense. However, if you want to explore the option of WSSD m2 we are here to help.

  I have an addition an Acer Aspire VN7-591 G-70RT with a slow 5400 RPM 1 TB WD Blue that creates a bottleneck in my laptop.

  I checked on Crucial to see if there are compatible SSD for my laptop which recommended:

  I was wondering, do anyone know if this information is correct? I was having mixed information online, 250 GB wouldn't cut my storage needs, if I could only get a 2.5 SSD "so my intention is to have an SSD 250 installed and my 1 TB HARD drive.

  Also, if the SSD was not the main drive would I still see the benefits of installing games who him? As in would be the existing WD blue always be causing a bottleneck?

  I have the device works now, I installed the MX200 Crucial m2 250G without any problem. Here's how.

  WEAR AN ANTI STATIC BAND:

  Step 1) remove all the screws on the underside of the laptop

  Step 2) use spudger or credit GENTLY lift a gap between the keyboard and the base, then use the credit card to slide slowly into the space to jump open clips, NOT FORCE.

  Step 3) (OPTIONAL) remove the keyboard connectors by moving clip and gently remove the cable from the Jack. However the HARD drive slipped in for me without necessary to detach.

  Step 4) unplug original WD HDD blue reversing the clip and disconnect the cable

  Step 5) close laptop together and boot with Windows 10 USB install

  Step 6) install windows on new SSD (for me windows automatically activated via the BIOS/UEFI) if it doesn't happen for you, simply re-attatch the original HARD disk.

  Step 7) if the activation is successful, again set HARD drive and original format. I have kept all the original ACER RECOVERY and Partitions (Healthy) in case I need to restore factory default, but formatted primary partition.
