Ejection of material on Vista

How can I remove my internal drives, C, D and E to appear on the icon remove the device safely on my taskbar?

Hi 99504wb,

Thanks for the reply on the community forum.

Check if the option optimize to remove selection is marked for ownership of the drive?

1 hold down the Windows key and the letter E
2. right click on the drive in question and select Properties
3. click on the Tools tab / Double click on the drive of the window and select policies
4. check if it shows optimize for Performance.

If the State optimize for Performance, it has disk caching enabled.  What is cached to disk is if there is a sudden power surge or a quick walk / stop it will contain data that was transferred to disk in the cache of the drive and when the product he finishes writing on this disc.  If you who turn off the power or select optimize in order to quickly remove the drive should not be visible to withdraw more.

It's you if you want to operate without disk caching.

Please let us know if there is any help or information, we may provide.

    Hello world:

Just create a new VM WIndows 7 Pro (clean install) as a guest in 10 Workstation running on a host windows system 7 Pro. When copying a large number of files over the network to a drive on data for the virtual machine, I noticed the noise of tale tell us to what looked like a point USB port being ejected and then reconnected. When I checked the icon 'Remove hardware safely' on the virtual machine there is a huge list indicating "Eject ATA channel 0" through channel 29? There don't seem to be valid items associated with these elements. There are also various other items that seem to be standard items for the virtual machine. I don't have it under other VM, although most of those that have been created in earlier versions of VMware Workstation and then upgraded to Workstation 10. Is this normal? Or something is running wild on this virtual machine?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Best regards, Dave Melnyk

    Hi Dave,.

It is "normal" that the majority of our virtual PCI/PCIe and SATA devices are hot pluggable.  Another explanation (and workarounds, if you find it distracting) are in this thread: 10 Workstation: Windows 'Remove' Gone Wild

We had a few questions about this lately, and we have had discussions on the question of whether we could eventually add a checkbox to control if these devices are default hot pluggable.

In the meantime, feel free to ignore them or use the workarounds in the first thread I linked above.

    See you soon,.

Ejection (TurboPC) USB mass storage device problem

I received this message every time that click "safely remove hardware and Eject Media". The Task Manager show no program that is currently running.
What should I do now? How to eject this material properly?

This happens from time to time and there is a safe way is to stop the PC then remove the USB cable. You can just pull the USB cable anyway, and 99 times out of 100 it will not hurt but when it hurts you can end up with an unreadable disk. Sometimes if you wait 10 minutes and try again it will allow you to remove the disc.

  • Satellite A200 - 23P - mechanic of DVD - rom does not

I'm sorry for my English in advance this topic! -Thank you

I have a very big problem with my engraver of DVD (RM).
    I bought SAT A200 - 23P three weeks ago.
The Win VISTA operating system has been installed. DVD - rom worked well.

If I have installed Win XP to the second partition on my HARD drive (to install the disk with driver for sata drive in nlite) and installed all the drivers and utilities for Toshiba laptop, I found that my DVD-rom is not working while I press eject button.

Mechanic of DVD is not responding to eject in XP and not even in the BIOS!
It is interesting, mechanic DVD is the detection in BIOS, detects in XP, XP operating system votes - mechanic to the DVD works properly - its fable.

However, if I have installed XP on the second partition, Win Vista does not load :(
I don't have a second chance for second selection (Vista and XP).
I now have XP only, even if Vista is on the first partition - I didn't delete it.

Do you think that the DVD-rom is HW or SW problem?
I think that, given that the DVD-rom does not in the BIOS - HW error.

But is very strange, if I install XP from mechanic to the DVD and then close is, DVD - rom does not...:)

If I manually open and insert the CD, the DVD does not (diode led no blink, just if I turn off the computer, led blinked once).

    PLS help me someone-

    Thank you!

    Hi Michal

Your question is very strange, I mean the number of CD/DVD drive

The fact is that the readers of CD/DVD eject function functions should any operating system has been installed on your laptop. It has nothing to do with your software on the HARD drive.

So I wonder why the eject button works with Vista and not XP preinstalled OS?  :|

My only plausible explanation is that sometimes there is a bad connection between the laptop and the drive. However the problem could be related to the hardware problem too

As you see it s not easy to say what's wrong exactly, we can only speculate.

Now some details about your installation of OS double.

You cannot choose between Windows XP and Vista because Vista boot manager was obliterated during the installation of Win XP.
This happened to me also. I installed Win XP on my Satellite and could not start Vista.

The solution was simple; I used another original DVD of Vista (from my friend) and booted from this DVD. Vista has renewed the Boot Manager, and then I was able to boot Vista.

Then I downloaded the tool called Easy BCD.
This tool can change the Vista Boot Manager settings. I've edited and inserted a new Windwos XP OS entry.

    That s it!

  • USB ports power your equipment, but not recognizing devices

I started my pc yesterday (21/02/10) - for the first time since the incident of the blue death screen has resolved on 10/02/10 (see 'recent history of the problem' below). I got a screen that says "volume dirty cleaning in 3 steps" or something like that. Subsequently, the windows starts fine but the USB ports stopped working.

All 3 USB ports are now fueling your equipment (confirmed by my laptop fan) , but none of them give me access to any external devices as my flash drives.

Note: I didn't say "" do not recognize devices "and instead said"give me no access to devices "because when I plug in my flash drive, it is profiled as a material published by ususal Display icon at the bottom right of the taskbar." Of more when I try to eject the material, the flash drive appears as "Kingston Data Traveller". It's simply not let me access the flash player - instead when I click on the flash player icon (drive F :) it asks me to format the drive before using.) But then when I am trying to format it says that "windows cannot format the device."

[Please note that the USB ports are all works perfectly between these two dates.] In addition, I did not any changes, hardware or software, recently. ]

Recent history of problems (might be useful):

I got a blue screen of death problem 2 weeks after I had installed Windows XP updated 09/02/10. I could solve this problem by uninstalling all the following patches: KB978262, KB971468, KB978037, KB975713, KB978251, KB978706, KB977165, KB975560 KB977914. (as suggested in the forum: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistawu/thread/73cea559-ebbd-4274-96bc-e292b69f2fd1)

After that I do not start my PC, until yesterday. It is the problem of the USB to start.

) not a bad answer, but a lot of work and you can make mistakes
make a sfc/scannow, as indicated here that it will reinstall missing and corruption of files http://www.updatexp.com/scannow-sfc.html I also noticed in your answer "dirty volume in 3 steps of cleaning" is you have using a kind of cleansing software registry cleaner etc. Registry cleaners that aren't much good for the most part and they will mess up your computer...
If you do not use a cleaner that get some anti malware software download and run

Use Eject instead of 'remove hardware safely '. That is, right-click the touchpad drive and select "Eject".

Please make all below even if you have done some before as it is often the set of operations which solves
    the question.

    Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double-click on the device - driver tab - click
Update the drivers (this will probably do nothing) - then RIGHT click the drive - UNINSTALL - REBOOT
This will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a loose cable or
slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both

Vista Basic with dial-up. I reinstalled vista and now the modem will not work with any of the numbers given by my provider. He throws error numbers (Sorry didn't write them) and said that the modem is already current usage or other computer is busy. The modem does not appear in the lists of material and reinstallation does not work. The computer does not recognize when a new modem is installed either. Yesterday I was burning a CD of some of my music to take work and listen. After burning 4-5 songs there was an error (windows media player), and he could not burn the rest.

I click OK and you quit the program and then went to myCD of ejection, and it did not open. Then I go to my computer to select eject, and it not there no cd drive listed suddenly and not in the Device Manager either.

The light on the cd rom is always bright green constantly, but he will not answer or try to open when I press eject. And it does no sounds as if she is trying to read a disc or some such.

I tried to restore system 2 days ago, but it has not fixed the problem. I tried this stall and hanging save nothing doesn't. • Using Vista for 4 years now, it is required for activation, no change of material or put in the form

I've been using Vista Business (pre installed by Dell) since the purchase of my laptop 4 years with no problems. After turned on last night he told me to validate my copy of Windows. I tried to do it but he told me that my copy is not activated, I confirmed this on my system details it says it needs activation.
I tried the phone activation system and talked to 2 different people, they both gave me the same code to enter that twice told me that it does not match the product id. They do not seem to know what to do next and said that I should pay £46 + VAT for it to be resolved.
I have not formatted my disk or installed new hardware that they kept insisting that I had done. The only updates other than Windows updates are on my free copy of AVG. Windows is up to date. As I said it worked fine until last night.
Can anyone help please? I'm not too confident trying to complex tasks, so be gentle!
