Embedded index is randomly removed
Hello I'm using Adobe acrobat pro XI and I have a document with more than 1000 pages and im using the new embed feature to make searches faster. However after I created an embeded index it will be random are sometimes deleted (the dialog box shows that "the document does not contain an embedded index")
Any help?

A common way to lose an embedded index is to do a "save under" on the PDF file.
This provides the PDF file with the feature of quick web display but the losses the index incorporated.

- The document open in Acrobat, choose Tools > Document Processing > manage embedded Index.
- In the dialog box to manage the indexes incorporated, click on incorporate the Index.

Advanced search in Reader 9 for packages w / embedded indexes created in Acrobat 8.1
I'm having a terrible day. I just finished combining thousands of documents in packages of 6 w / embedded index using Acrobat 8.1. The advanced search feature allowed me to enter several names of peoples' Wilkes Terry White Smith Johnson and I could select to "Match any of the words" and I would be able to see all the documents mentioned any of these names. The problem is that my boss doesn't have Reader 9 installed and its advanced search screen seems quite different for the nice advanced search screen that I can see. I can't figure out how to get all the features of advanced search so he can use it. If he enters several names 'Wilkes Terry White Smith', he gets no success because the system is assuming that I am looking for a person named "Wilkes Terry White Smith." Is it possible to have the search find 'Match any of the words' rather than 'Match the exact phrase' using Reader 9. I'm in trouble tomorrow.

Yes; If the embedded index is always present and 'Search' rather than 'Find' is used.
Edit > search rather than edit > find.
The research requires the embedded index, or an index of catalog.
If a PDF with the embedded index undergoes a "save under" the embedded index is deleted and the PDF file saved to support the quick display of Web pages.

Due to the way in which we use our Document management system, if we want to search through multiple or large files stored in our DMS PDF we merge PDF together and create an embedded index. This works perfectly well, when you open the PDF file in Adobe Reader standalone. Enter a particular term can bring 100 hits (very quickly) in the Adobe Reader search results pane.
However, if we launch the PDF with Adobe Reader in Internet Explorer (any version), enter a term to search (contained in document) only get one result, that of the file name of the document itself.
Unfortunately most of our users will access our DMS documents with internal links.
Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Why sync randomly removes not so many bookmarks?

I sync between 3 PC, but these last few months, it was not reliable.
I found it deleting various records, empty records, duplication of bookmarks into folders and generally being a nightmare.
I have an export that has fortunately most of my good favorites. I tried a disconnection, reimport bookmarks - everythings Ok for a day or two, then it starts to be again randomly.
I have over 6000 Favorites I've heard can be a problem - could it be?

No point in trying of synchronization of bookmarks if you have more than 5,000 bookmarks.
Sync is not particularly good at managing the large number of changes in bookmarks either. Personally, I suggest that it is even more important to backup bookmarks manually if you opt for the synchronization of bookmarks.
These days, Firefox is quite well with bookmarks internal default automated but you learned Sync can be a nightmare if you manually back up at least you can then choose to save a set of bookmarks sync did not wreck.
You have found most of the kind of corruption, causes of synchronization are difficult, time-consuming or impossible to correct, and very probably Sync will be assigned automatic backup sets until you realize what has happened past.If I understand correctly this is a long-standing problem and would require a redesign of the synchronization process and I don't think it is expected to do.
Note There are two different ways to save bookmarks.

I created a simple game - when the game ends, I want to remove only some of the children from the scene and let some interface elements behind.
The children I want to delete, I added at the level of the index 6.
My code to add child objects to the start looks like this:
addChildAt(newObject,6);
Then, when the game is over and I need to clear the screen of all these objects table laid, I want to delete all the child objects to the index position 6 only, while the other elements of the scene are left intact.
I don't know how to use a while loop to remove all children from the scene, but do not know the syntax to remove all children from a given only depth index position.
My gameOver() function is currently using this code:
getChildAt (6);
removeChildAt (6);
but this removes an instance of one child.
I must be able to detect all children at index 6 and remove them all.
I can't find the syntax necessary to achieve this.
Can anyone help?
A single object can occupy a level of the index. When you add another at the same level, the previous is moved up in the order. You probably want to do is to store the references to these children in a table and use it to target out them.
