Remove the local index partitions

Hello

How can I provide clues the only from a few partitions in oracle 10.2.0.4?

Index partitions a fall

You cannot explicitly delete a partition of a local index. Instead, the local index partitions are removed only when you delete a partition of the underlying table.

  • How to improve the performance of the Local index?

    I need to store the telecom CDR Data, that having more fields

    CDR_DATE = > Date
    Telephone_Num = > Varchar2 (20)
    A = > Varchar2 (40)
    B = > Varchar2 (10)

    The volume of input data is very high... To 100 million/day

    So I created the Table to Partition Oracle with Date Range Partition.

    The application will always run a query of type

    Select * from CDR where Telephone_Num = '& TNUM' AND CDR_DATE between JAN09 AND MAR09;

    Question1
    What will be the best way to create indexes? Which can provide better performance and not degrade the daily data loading.

    Question2 - for this I created the LOCAL Index
    Create Index ABCS ON LOCAL of CDR (CDR_DATE, Telephone_Num);

    Data recovery uses the index but I see in the Trace, County GETS COMPLIANT & PHYSICAL READINGS are very high.

    Then please suggest, creating a LOCAL INDEX is wise decision or not. Or in any other way.

  • Satellite A660-k17: can I remove the two primary partitions used for restoration?

    Hello
    I have 3 questions :) #.

    1. I burned a copy dvd recovery media, on a laptop A660 k17. There are two partitions on the disk that I think are there for the recovery. The first is 1.46 GB and it's for the recovery and another partition hidden 8.29 GB... and I think that the first contains the Recovery Wizard and the whole environment in which we will get through the repair of the system and the hidden disk contains the actuall with windows data, drivers and so on. Can I remove these two? I ask mainly on the first, if it is not necessary for the system to boot or something after that I have to recover the laptop to the factory setting.

    2 and I also want to leave my partitions so that I don't have to partition the whole drive from C 600 GB again. I have a D drive created but there is this response to a topic already in the forum http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=64754&tstart=90
    who says that when I leave the partitions I created myself, that the recovery will be not available. I have a copy on dvd, but only to make sure no kidding something upward.

    3. when I want a clean system without some software which are preloaded on the oem recovery disk... I have to use windows recovery? or it will be the same as the toshiba one?
    Thanks for the reply possible :)
    Beautiful day :)

    > Can I remove the two primary partitions used for restoration?
    First not, but you can remove the Toshiba recovery partition if you created the recovery DVDs. One day, if you want to install the recovery image once again you can use created the recovery disc.

  • How to remove the local partition of storage and vmfs

    I have esx 3.5 on a 6 infrastructure hosts. Each host, in addition to other stuff, I have a 6 GB VMFS partition, "tied" to a local storage.

    I did not install, so I do not know the purpose of this partition, but there seems that it is not used, because it is empty.

    Now I need free space on the hosts to install monitorning of IBM tools, and I thought that it was preferable to have these installed NOT on the partition root.

    Since I have this 6 GB partition (hopefully) unused, I if I could remove the storage, delete the partition VFMS and create an EXT3 partition.

    But I do not know how... can someone tell me the exact procedure I should follow?

    Some information about my environment:

    the VMFS partition is sda3:

    Disk/dev/sda: 14.9 GB, 14999879680 bytes

    Heads of 64, 32 sectors/track, 14305 cylinders

    Units = cylinders of 2048 * 512 = 1048576 bytes

    14207 14305 CF 101360 unknown sda7

    And I have this virtue/vmfs/volumes (ensv16oe:storage1 is the local storage, I want to delete):

    # ls

    48bedd8b-7fe7ff6e - 36 c 5-00215e2097b4 Datastore1

    ensv16oe:storage1 is on vmhba1:4:0:3

    Thank you for your attention.

    The restart was not necessary also if fdisk say Yes.

    A different way has been to say the least the VMFS volume empty, change the type with fdisk, forcing a new analysis and verify that the data store is gone.

  • Remove the Dell recovery partition and create a data partition

    Hello world

    Two years ago, I bought a Dell Inspiron N5110. In addition to the existing windows partition, I wanted to add a partition Ubuntu as a partition of data (NTFS). Well, I added the Ubuntu partition, but because of the Dell recovery partition (14.65 GB, used 7,69, formatted to NTFS), I had no primary partition left to create a data partition. I did not had the time to solve this problem so far.

    Here you can see the different partitions. 4, 66GB there is the linux swap partition and the 18.63 is the linux partition. Of course, they are contained in an extended partition that is created during the installation of linux using GParted.

    Basically, what I would do, is to remove the recovery partition. I did not throw a look inside, but I read that as it contains bootstrap information, as well as win7 boot no more if I'm deleting it. The partition is marked as 'active' (in contrast to my main windows partition of C). I guess this is a classic problem, but I couldn't find a tutorial or a satisfactory answer on this forum (I apologize if this is the case). I assume that it is not enough to define steps to activate the recovery partition and assign to the partition c active (i.e. they don't going to critical data recovery to the c partition). Furthermore, I read that repartition your drive could affect the functioning of the emergency recovery partition, is this true?

    Thank you very much in advance for your help.

    Greetings,

    Harald

    Yes, sorry, I had a problem and the image has not been correctly incorporated into my message. Here it comes. Sandra means healthy, active, primary partition means that primary partition. However, you will notice that windows see the ubuntu partition is a stretch.

    CRS-4124: Oracle high availability Services startup failed.

    Hello Wolfgang,.

    You are not supposed to remove the user from the administrator that was used to install the software. You can lock that counts if him want, however, you do not delete the account

  • How to remove the local drive of the storage profile

    I use 5.1.1 with last vcenter vcloud. My problem is that my profile of single storage includes local disk. (when I click on * all properties in vcloud)

    I went to vsphere client to vcenter (Home > inventory > data warehouses and the cluster data store) I see ESXi local disk. is there a way to delete it without deleting the content of the discs? the vcloud vms will go to local disk? concern is not shared between hosts. Thank you

    You create profiles of storage for data storage you want to use.

    First, assign user-defined storage capacities:

    1. Home-> inventory-> data and data Clusters store warehouses
    2. R.Click the data store you want to use-> Assign User-Defined storage capacities
    3. Click new... and set a name and a Description
    4. Repeat for all warehouses of data to include in the PVDC

    Second, to create profiles of VM storage

    1. Home-> management-> VM storage profiles
    2. Create a VM storage profile
    3. Name and assign storage capacities of the list defined by the user that you created
    4. IMPORTANT: Select the VM storage profile (buttons at the top of the window)

    Third, VCD storage profiles update

    1. Manage and control-> them vCenters
    2. r.Click vCenter and refresh the storage profiles (may take a few minutes)

    Fourth, edit PVDC

    1. Manage and monitor--> provider TDC-> open your PVDC
    2. Storage Profiles tab
    3. Add new profile storage
    4. Remove the * any storage profile (disable and then delete r.click)
  • How do I remove the HDD Recovery partition D folder?

    Hello

    I have the folder called HDD Recovery aprox. 3 GB on disk D (OS Windows XP SP3).
    I want to delete without cleaning partition and information about it.

    Can anyone give me the solution of this problem?

    Can you please tell me what there is problem for you?

    You can simply remove this folder and... bye recovery image. After doing this, you will not be able to install the operating system using the HDD recovery procedure (F8 fix my computer).
    So before that, you create DVDs of recovery for other facilities.

    Thank you very much

    This is a query that reads and writes the same data on the same partition!

    Well not - enough is NOT that.

    The RELATIONAL indicator causes unnest Oracle object data and insert the data from the attribute itself rather than the object.

    The indicators used are usable only by Oracle-c ' is why they are undocumented. You can find songs on the web, but practically everything you find is "best estimate".

  • Partition key would exist in local index, if so it should be first or last or is not serious?

    -It is necessary and should be the last position.

    Well, I don't like this example because I would tell you to use on your text string to_date and to_char on your column.

    Let's say if you have a partition of the range with a value of one month of data in the partition and you want to select the data for a given day. Oracle must be able plum of the score, but then you have to complete the partition scanning unless there was an index containing the day (assuming it's the partition key)

  • How to assign the tablespace name local index when converted to INTERVAL

However, when the next interval partition is created, the local index is also created in the tablespace DATA. How can I make sure that new partitions of the interval for the index will be created them within the existing Index table?

  • Global and local index with respect to table partitioned

    Hello
    I am very confused about local and global index in a partitioned table.
    In addition, local index can be partitioned and unpartitioned.
    In addition, what is the difference between global partitioned and unpartitioned
    the index?

    As far as I know,
    If there is local index then there will be as many partitions as the partition table
    and local parition will index contains the index of only the lines of their corresponding scores.
    In addition, the local index maintananence is easier because drop us or create a partition, only index corresponding partition is affected then that in the case of the overall index,
    If we create a new partition of the table, to rebuild the global index.
    Am I wrong?

    Concerning

    Hello

    This means that when you add/drop/split/merge table any partition (maintaiance) lying below, its corresponding partition in index is automatically added/deleted/split/merged. Oracle takes care of it internally without user intervention.
