Empty office

When I start my laptop (Inspiron 1300), everything works, but my taskbar does not appear, as well as my desktop icons. I see my desktop background, but I have to use the Task Manager to access anything whatsoever.

The only error message I get started is the following:

RUNDLL
Error loading C:\WINDOWS\system32\aprbpb.dll
The specified module could not be found.

Now, I'm not sure that this error has to do with my problem, but can someone else be the judge of that. I tried several solutions I read online with people having the same problem, but they worked without result.

I can't use system restore, it does not work. Also, I tried to many virus/spyware removers, but those who don't work anymore. I tried to run explorer.exe, but which does nothing.

Does anyone have solutions? In addition, my Dell warranty expired, but someone on the phone (from Dell) told me I could use the support chat for free. I tried, but it said that my warranty expired and wouldn't let me. Y at - it support free chat?

I have trouble getting Vista to start on an Acer laptop.  The laptop is an Acer Aspire 6920 G with Windows Vista Home Premium 32 - bit on it.

The PC will start in an empty office with stop mouse cursor on this screen for about a 1 min and then it restarts and you go through the same process again.  I tried the safe mode and last good configuration to know but get the same results.  I have also tried to run the Startup Repair tool and get the same screen.  I can launch Startup Repair to boot from a DVD of Vista Home Premium 32-bit and I can run but it makes no different.  When you restart, you get the same problem.

    Does anyone have an idea?

No it isn't the trunk upwards with the black screen and the mouse.

    Hi KevinBricknall,

    1. have you made a recent software or hardware changes to the system?

Since you are unable to run start up repair boot from the Vista disc, you can try to perform a system restore start from the disc and see if it helps.

  • Mission control: cannot close the empty offices

    Hi all

I've seen a few posts related to this but not definitive answers. My mid-2011 iMac (OS 10.11.6) gave birth to two "" extra spaces or empty desktop computers in the control of the Mission, and I am not in a position to close, even now the key Option. One is named "Calendar" (I normally put on his own desk, but it is an extra that will not disappear after leaving this request) and the other simply "office."

This happened earlier, and I think that I fixed it just by restarting, but that did not work this time. That said, I must point out that the last two restarts (when the problem started) have been to Boot Camp in Mac OS. I don't know if it's relevant.

    Thank you!

FWIW, when you launch the Mission Control, a simple "office" is listed at the top by default. It is not something, you can close.

  • Bookmark profile on empty office, cannot sync mobile

I got the MixiDJ research/toolbar malware on my desk with tracks in windows 7. I deleted the program from the Control Panel, but she came back. After reading a lot of info forum, I ended up resetting Firefox but... they do not mention that you need to back up your bookmarks. I checked the profile folder and it is empty. My Samsung phone was synchronised to they have disappeared there. My Kindle Fire, however, shows all of my favorites intact and only the following folders show as "Synchronized" for Firefox on KFTT: subject: blank and a crochet site.

I tried to synchronize completely, but I don't get the synchronization code when I try to add the device to my desktop. I don't have the popup of the Synchronization Manager. When I opened the settings, I get a tab sync but it shows just the 2 tabs listed above.

    Help!

It should have probably been enough reset preferences if MixiDJ been deleted programs.

You have an "Old data Firefox" folder on the desktop?

If you have you should find backups JSON (bookmarks-#-#-.json #) in the folder bookmarkbackups.

When you reset Firefox and a new profile is created and some personal data (bookmarks, history, cookies, passwords, data form) are automatically imported and the current profile folder will be moved on the desktop (old data of Firefox).
You will lose the extensions and other customizations (toolbars, Pref.) that you have made.

It is possible to recover more data from the old profile, but be careful not to copy the files corrupted to avoid transporting on the problem.

  • Empty office after the connection of Windows 7

My Sony Viao on February 8 on a PC running Windows 7 crashed with a black screen and message of rolling on the invalid security credentials.  Restarting I couldn't access the desktop after login screen.  My account has administrator access.  The Task Manager does not work.  Safe Mode boot gave the same result.  I tried restoring the system (failure) and startup repair (impossible to repair - given "bad password" error).

I suspected a virus or malware attack so worked methodically through a wide range of software and antivirus malware bootable CD, including Kasperky, Hiren, MBAM etc.  After all this, I have access to my office in Mode safe mode but not in normal mode.

A reference on the internet suggested disable UAC completely.  I did it in Mode without fail and after that restart was able to access my account in normal mode.  Reset the UAC on any level above off translates into the back of the problem - no office, just a black screen with the mouse cursor.  Can anyone offer other advice that I prefer not to run with UAC disabled at any time.

    Hi Pierre

Thanks for your reply.  I went through the information on Bootrec and then used, but it has not solved the problem I have with my Win 7 Home Premium log on.  I finally found that, with UAC, although I could log in with my normal administrative account, I could not connect with a standard account.  He returned immediately to the Security screen.  I did some checking of the event logs and concluded that the error was:

The Windows logon process has failed to spawn a user application.Application name: . Command line parameters: c:\windows\system32\userinit.exe.

I pushed back from the UAC on failure and tried to connect with my normal account, then check the error logs again in safe mode and it is the same.  Searching the Internet to find out how to fix this error identified that it was a file permissions problem and I finally found a repair tool to reset back to default Windows permissions.  I ran yesterday, and the problem was solved.  Now I can access all my accounts with UAC.  I have no idea what caused the problem, but now, everything seems to work ok.

  • Empty office after having tried to change the theme, missing uxtheme.dll

So I decided to change the theme on my computer and told to download different themes on online sites, I would need to get another uxtheme.dll. After getting the new dll withinwindows.com (Windows vista SP0 pack), I'm gone in my system32 folder, then changed my original .dll file to read uxtheme.old.  Then I put in the new .dll file, I now had the .dll files as .old.  Told me to restart my computer so that the change will be so I could finally put on new themes.  My computer loaded up fine until I got to the login page where I noticed that the box where I type my password was not normal. When I typed my password, the points that protect the password did not line up with the box, in that I was typing.  He then flashed "Welcome" for one second and then my screen when black followed by a box saying that it lacked the uxtheme.dll and to look for a solution online or close the program.  I have a mouse pointer, but nothing else, and I can't in the Manager of tasks either.

    Help, please!

Start your computer with the Vista installation DVD and do a restore of the system to a date before you tinkered. If you do not have a true Vista DVD because your computer is only shipped with a recovery disk, you can use this:

    Download Windows Vista recovery disk:

You will need to burn the .iso image file you upload as an image, not as data using third-party burning software.

  • How can I make an icon of office always open a URL in a window max?

I think I asked a long time ago and I thought I knew how to do this, but it ain't working for me.

I have an icon on my desktop (I keep only a few here) and she's ready to open / * link removed * /. But for some reason, it always just open this site in a half size window. I have maxxed it (manually and with the button [_] upward in the right corner) and then closed and it still opens in a less that maximize the view. I don't even remember where he got this window size of...

I even restarted Windows XP after maxxing he and l ', and it will always open in this small size. And I made sure I never saw an end now to explore while he was going to shut down Windows, as I learned this program stores some of this junk.

I clicked the icon on the desktop and I was hoping to find a box titled maximized open, but there isn't one like this anywhere.

I even use cCleaner and I ticked a box in the Windows section on the Advanced tab that says window size/location Cache, and then I ran the cCleaner. Then I restarted Windows and tried to open this URL by using the icon on the desktop and it is still open in the window to half size.

    Arghhhh!

You created the shortcut on the desktop may have some command of the file, send, shortcut on the desktop of a browser or something similar. This creates the equivalent of the half-a-shortcut in that it records the target URL but not the program that launches the target URL. Instead, it relies on the default browser and file association settings to launch the web page from the URL. Since you have no executable program in the shortcut, you are given the choice of opening in a maximized, minimized or floating window of the application.

The following should be the correct procedure to create a shortcut to Internet Explorer for that allows you to set the view state of the application window.

    1. Right click on a box empty office and select new, shortcut.
    2. For the location of the item of Type: type or paste in,.
            "%PROGRAMFILES%\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe.
When you have this in the text box, click Next. If the location of the browser application is incorrect, you will be asked to fix it.
    3. Provide a name for the new shortcut, and then click Finish in the lower right.
    4. Right click on your new shortcut on the desktop and select Maximized in options of execution on the sharing tab.
Your new shortcut should now open in a maximized window. Another option is to open Internet Explorer mode full booth (e.g. Fullscreen) by adding k at the command line like:

    '%PROGRAMFILES%\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe' k

Try to return to the English Canada and see if the desktop icons reappear.  If they do, when the default language has changed he assumed you have created a new 'profile' perhaps and you see profile this profile's empty office.  Alternatively, if a new profile has been created, open the old profile (person) when you open a session.

  • HP Pavilion Sleekbook PC 14: Recovery of Windows 8: PC in a reboot cycle?

Laptop model: HP Pavilion Sleekbook PC 14
    Product number: C7D58PA #AKL
    The system board ID: 18F9
    BIOS version: F 18
    Editor BIOS: Insyde

    64-bit Windows 8 (I think, unless he updated to 8.1 I don't know)

No drive CD or DVD (Ultrabook).

It is a laptop from a friend. At one point, he pointed out that it shows just a black screen with the mouse cursor after the start it (after loading Windows 8). He has no idea of what happened before that, I read a lot of online reports of people having problems after such a broken Microsoft updates for Windows 8 or 8.1.

Anyway, it goes well with the idea of "clean install", nothing needs to be backed up. Recovery media (USB key) was created at the time. I start the laptop with the recovery media and get to HP Recovery Manager. I select 'Factory Reset' which is supposed to erase the whole hard drive and restore the initial factory condition.

After some time (30-60 minutes, not sure), it has completed preparations, which I assume were re - create the recovery on the hard drive partition, etc. It is said the PC will start itself several times during the recovery process, and I should not meddle. Ok then.

After I let it continue, Notepad starts, HP logo and the circle of rotation. After a while, I see a glimpse of what appears to be an empty office of Windows and a window that says something like:

    HP laptop
    < date > < time > (e.g. 14/08/2015 11:15)
    Please wait...

(there is a button in there I think)

Which is available for a fraction of a second, but then the laptop restarts automatically just and this very fact time and time again, showing this dialog screen each time after you start HP logo. I waited about 8 hours, and it continued just do so that even, it seems that the recovery process is interrupted every time with a reboot. If this restart is due to a system error, where I can see the journal, IE. What is the error?

So, what to do next? I have reset defaults in case where (though I think that nothing has ever changed in any case) BIOS, no effect. I have not tried to update the BIOS, but even if I find a new/UEFI BIOS for this laptop, I would try rather than as a last resort, or after that I have the PC back on.

I also tried the other recovery options, lighter, ('System Recovery' and 'Reduced Image recovery') prior to "Factory Reset", but they have not yet further, I think.

In addition, I ran a full system check in the start menu (RAM and hard drive), everything was reported as fine.

Yet one thing that may or may not serious, in case there is a problem of Windows 8: since the PC HP is bought in Thailand, it has a cheaper, 'reduced' Windows 8 version. It's a play full version, but apparently a kind of 'reduced' version that Microsoft sells cheaper on some countries, such as the Thailand. I'm not entirely sure what the restrictions are, at least you can not change the language of Windows system after the initial selection of IIRC (when Windows 8 was executed first to complete installation preloaded, English was chosen as the language of the system).

I mention this only because I'm not sure if it causes certain restrictions on workarounds, such as the use of some other Windows 8/8.1 recovery media created on another PC or downloaded an ISO from Microsoft, or somesuch. I have already learned the hard way that not all editions of Windows seem to be created equal with regard to the options of recovery, being able to launch the etc SafeMode (at least this was the case with my Windows 7, a lot of instructions online for just would not work on it because they are expecting boot options that simply weren't there).

USB media recovery that I use is created initially, according to HP.

    Problem solved. Steps to follow:

    1. forget about HP recovery. Of course it does not work for me little matter how I pray, I went to come and clean up the entire hard drive of all partitions (I presume that the recovery partition went too).

    2. create the installation media Windows 8.1 with Microsoft http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/create-reset-refresh-media media creation tool

I created the USB media on a USB flash drive of 8 GB on another PC. It will work and install correctly on Windows 8 system, no need to install first 8.0 and then he move to 8.1.

3 boot from the installation media, install (I chose the option to not save or move anything old windows, after all he was not supposed to be any previous Windows installed) and a great success. I guess you have to download and install drivers from HP separately, perhaps,

In fact, I am now upgrading to Win10.
