Hello again...

Host

Protocol

Share

Opening of session

I have linux (Ubuntu), how I fill those lines, so I take back my files? Also, if a file from the remote control is the same file at the local level it replace automatic or will he ask me? Thank you and sorry for my bad English...

It ok now... my fault was that I do not share the folder I want to make the backup. I do it with the first Protocol!

  • [SOLVED] How to disable Dell Datasafe Local Backup

The "Dell Datasafe Local Backup" program that appears in the status bar system on new Dell computers is not started in one of the methods traditionally used in Windows.  For this reason, the right way to prevent it from running at startup is not known, and most of the advice I found on the Internet suggests to uninstall the program completely, either intentionally it paralyzes by moving, deleting, or renaming one or the other files or folders it uses.  Instead, the right way to turn it off is to turn the "SoftThinks Agent Service" using the services Control Panel - specifically, by changing the startup type for this service of "Automatic" (delayed start) on "manual".  I'm posting this info here in the hope that other people will benefit from this information, and to stop the proliferation of bad advice such as what I found by searching for my solution.

Your solution is much appreciated.  I do not use the Dell DataSafe local backup, and it seemed to bog down the boot process.  Thank you.

  • Cannot re - install Windows7 from USB key created with Dell Datasafe Local Backup

    Hello

I created Dell Datasafe Local Backup recovery media and stored on a USB key.

However my laptop Dell Inspiron has only USB 3.0 ports so when I try to boot on the USB it tells me: "cannot find the image of system recovery. "If you try to restore your pc from a USB 3.0 (blue) USB Port please connect to another USB Port, restart your PC and try Recovery.

If my laptop has no former USB 2 ports and, apparently, Windows 7 doesn't come with native support USB 3 so how can I re - install my system using the USB that I made Dell Datasafe Local backup?

I tried to make a set of Dell Datasafe DVD, but it is not I think that there is a bug in the routine of Datasafe Local Backup DVD recovery media.

Am I better off Dell asking to send me a re-installation OEM DVD set? How would I do that?

    Thank you.

  • How to remove backups Time Machine to a specific drive

I can't find how to better use Time Machine in my situation. Here is my configuration:

I have a 6 TB external drive dedicated as a Time Machine backup. It backs up my internal drive as well as the three external drives (A, B, C). Player "A" is always connected and is constantly supported, but readers 'B' and 'C' are linked only from time to time to archive older files.

I recently made a few changes on the disc 'B' and left connected so it was saved, but Time Machine tells me I don't have enough room... it seems he's trying to save the whole 1.3 TB of data rather than the 15 GB or if I've changed.

  • Dell DataSafe LOCAL Backup 2.0

Is it possible to download an installer for Dell DataSafe Local Backup 2.0, or this utility is available with a factory download?

    Thanks for your advice.

    ---------

To be very clear: I'm not asking questions about backup online Dell DataSafe and sharing. Please do not suggest that I visit this URL:

    http://www.Dell.com/content/topics/topic.aspx/global/shared/services/DataSafe/DataSafe?c=us&l=en&CS=19

I wonder about Dell DataSafe Local Backup 2.0, which is described here:

"What is Dell DataSafe Local Backup 2.0?"

    http://support.Dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/DSN/en/document?c=us&CS=19&DL=false&l=en&s=DHS&docid=62A5FEC442F5C1CBE040AE0AB8E17091&doclang=en

    Thank you.

    ---------

Please note: Dell DataSafe Local Backup 2.0 is not offered through my Dell downloads. and it's not offered on the normal drivers and updates web page. Thank you.

I just finished a "chat" with Dell technical support, and I got my answer:

As I suspected, Dell licenses this software (possibly from Symantec) and Dell license does not allow to offer the software separately from the download of the factory. Therefore, if DataSafe Local Backup not shipped with your computer, you may not get it.

The version of DataSafe Local Backup included with the download of the factory is fundamental; There are two additional versions: Pro and RAID1. Neither one is free, but you might be able to buy from Dell.
