  • I installed DirectX Runtime for the end user, but I have DirectX 11, there will be a problem?

I have Windows 7 and so I always got DirectX 11, but someone on this forum recommended update DirectX and I didn't know how to so I just downloaded this thing official Web sites, called for the final user DirectX Runtime Web install which is apparently for version 9.29.1974. I want to know if this will become a problem for my computer.

    Hi WiccanxHulkling,

No it will not become a problem you already have Direct X 11 on the computer.

Some games or software may require an earlier version of DirectX so you can install the earlier version and it wouldn't effect the version of DirectX that is installed on the computer.

However, in accordance with the following article x 11 Direct include Direct X 10 and 10.1

  • Do I need to install the DirectX end-user Runtime?

Today on the Microsoft.com home page, is a banner of Silverlight full-width, and a section is a link to 'Get the update of DirectX'.  By clicking on the link takes you here.

This download says download page is for Windows 7 (and practically all other OS made in the last decade)... but do I need?  I do not understand why I would install DirectX 9. something when I'm on Windows 7, which already uses a newer version of DirectX.

I'm a tech person.  I live and I dream of MSDN and TechNet, I know best practices and read the KB for fun... so if I'm confused about this, I can't imagine how to confuse any normal user is when they see a banner telling them to install DirectX 9.

  • Internal error during the installation of DirectX for the user final web runtime install

    Hi all

I was browsing the forums and reading the discussions that relate to my question.  Unfortunately, each of the solutions that I found do not seem to solve my specific problem.
I recently got a new laptop (Dell E6540) and thought I'd try world of combat aircraft.  My old laptop did not have a graphics card that has been up to the task, but I think this one does.
I am running Windows 7, which integrates the latest version of DirectX (11).  I downloaded and installed the game, and when I click on 'Play', I get the message informing me that I'm missing the d3dx9_43.dll.  I then visit the Microsoft Download Center and try to download the installer of web runtime DirectX end-user.  Following the installation of the components in the stage of finalisation of the web installer, I get the following message:
"An internal system error has occurred.  Please refer to DXError.log and DirectX.log in your Windows folder to determine the problem. »
I then click OK in the error message, the web installer shows failed to install, so I click "Finish."  At this point, the popsup Program Compatibility Assistant, saying: the program may not be installed properly and gives me the opportunity to 'Reinstall using recommended settings', what I'm doing.  Then run the web installer a second time, giving me the same error internal system presented above.
I wonder if someone might have suggestions as to how I can resolve this issue (or to find the above mentioned .log files).
    Thanks for your help.

While Win7 installed DX 9, 10 and 11 it does not install with all files.
d3dx9_43.dll is the latest DX 9 files.
The best method when you have not already updated DX is to use the DX Web Installer,.
then you can try using them.
Download DirectX end-user Runtime Web Installer from the official Microsoft Download Center

If you have the same problem with the DX Web Installer trying to boot into Safe Mode with networking
and try to run the installation program from there Web DX.

-L' Web Installer does not overwrite the DX files, it only installs the DX 'missing' files, so when it
is a DX of corrupted files and you do not receive an error with the name that you will need to use the full
DirectX Redist (2010), which I assume is what you are trying to use, as this will overwrite all the
    DX files.
-Similarly, you can use Safe Mode (networking not required that you have all files) may
be used when there is a problem installing DX with the complete installation program.

-When there is a corrupted file of DX and you get the name of this file, an error, as with
your d3dx9_43.dll, you can delete this file in System32 (sysWOW64 when using 64-bit
Windows) and when you run the Web Installer will replace the now "missing" with a new file
    copy.

Absence of the foregoing, it may be your problem is more to do not have the necessary permissions to
    install the DX.
This could be due to UAC settings too high, does not not as administrator or another
restrictive framework, maybe even your anti-virus (disable temporarily when trying to install DX).
Try - R / click the DXSETUP.exe. Then go to Properties-compatibility and check the box
next to the race... as an administrator.

Without apparent reason, Direct X has suddenly stopped working. I can't play Solitaire or the Sims 2. I followed the previous advice on this issue, and with the help of dxdiag shows no problem, reinstall he didn't help not, using the runtime for the end-user to install thing older DX 9 stuff told me that everything is up to date, I am at a total loss.

I am running Win 7 Home Premium and everything I have running is Firefox, GIMP, and Skype. I searched for nothing 'media center' as I've heard it's a question and nothing like running. I don't know what to do.

There are two DirectX install 'things'.

It looks like you were using the Installer Web of DirectX, which is an update of DirectX.

The update only installs the DirectX 'missing' files and does not overwrite the existing DirectX files.

which is what is needed if a DirectX file or files is damaged.

-It may be that your error is the result of corrupted files. It happens from time to time. Sometimes because

a game or other software borks DX format when it insists on the installation of DX again for you.

The DirectX Redist (June 2010) below to replace all DirectX files.

When you run the installer it will ask you where you want to save the downloaded installation program then

"unpacks" the installation of DirectX in the selected folder.

After unpacking, open that folder and locate the DXSETUP.exe. This will reinstall DirectX, and

should at least eliminate corrupt files DX as the source of the error.

(You can delete the installation folder after installation).

    Shalini,

Games DirectX 9 requires DirectX 9 dll. This is a common problem... see games like NeverWinter Nights 2, which cannot be run on Windows 7 unless DirectX9 is installed (even if, Yes, Windows 7 comes with DirectX 11). Mass Effect is one of those games that requires DX9 DLL files, and it does not run.

It seems that the problem had to do with the missing system files... SFC/scannow revealed several missing files that could not be replaced. Most of them appeared related to .net Framework... I think it's maybe because I installed .net 4.0 Beta 2 to try to get the Zune software running. However, I was forced to do a reinstall of Windows 7 to install DirectX 9 (which worked immediately after the new facility). No idea why this could cause problems with the installation of DirectX 9, but that's the best explanation I have right now.

Still, your point is not not possible to install DirectX 9 on Windows 7 is not correct. It is possible and necessary to run some games.
