SHC68-68-EPM cable capacity

Hello

Anyone know what's the capacity of cable to the SHC68-68-EPM cable?

Thank you

Nick

Hi Nick,

This cable has three internal cables, as in the following diagram:

The mutual capacity for cable has 75pF and mutual capacity for cables B and C is 47.6pF. Please let me know if that answers your question.

Have a great day!

Kind regards

Jackie B

  • Are compatible cable SHC68-68-EP and SHC68-68-EPM cable?

    I use a DAQ card 6062E with a chassis SC-2345.
For now, to connect with each other, I use a SHC68-68-EP of 2 meter long cable.

Now I need a longer cable, this cable is only 2 metres but I need 5 meters.

My question is: are SHC68-68-EP and compatible SHC68-68-EPM cable (for M-series cards)? (the EPM cable exists in versions 5 m and 10 m)

    Tips:
    1. I downloaded the two support cables wiring diagrams OR. The only difference is: the new cable (EMP) for M-series cards, a PIN which was formerly assigned to GND is now separated into a new pair twisted and assigned to a signal (PFI 15 / P2.7).
According to this, it seems that 'new' EPM cable can be used on other maps than M-series of retro-compatible way (but of course 'old' EP cables cannot be used on M-series cards because a single signal would be connected to the MASS).

    2. The SHC68-68-EP cable, I bought 3 weeks ago had a big label "NI SHC68-68-EPM" on his bag when I got it... Maybe OR ships 'new' EMP cables when order us EP cables 'old '?

Does anyone have information about it all?

    Hi Fabrice,.

It is possible to use the EPM cable with your E Series device. Changes to the MOU to create the EPM have no negative effect when used with the E series devices.

The main difference between the two cables is the assignment of pins for PFI 15 (as you said). Cable EPM has also been optimized for digital extra lines on M Series devices to minimize noise and crosstalk on the PFI lines.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

  • Replacement cables SHC68-68-EPM?

I have a PXI-6363.  The recommended cable is the SHC68-68-EPM cable.  I have one of these practices, but need 2.  I found a couple of unused cables carrying around (NI SHC68-68 - RMIO & SHC68 - 68 - RDIO).  Can I use one of these as a substitute for a cable EPM?

I am not convinced that you can simply replace them and if they don't work it wouldn't be ideal. On the one hand, the SHC68-68-EPM cable specifies that it ends by a shift of VHDCI 68 pin, while others are just VHDCI, but I was not able to find information about the difference. In addition, they list compatibility for X and M series for RMIO or RDIO cable. While they are all 68 pin cables there are huge differences in grouping and shielding wire, and they are all optimized for different features/data acquisition cards. I found the mappings of wire for the EPM and RMIO which illustrates this.

    Hello

in this case, we should look at the whole system. 1082 chassis is large enough for 2 cards. What are the other maps are built into the system?

The 7021R SMU has in the datasheet of a limit on the transfer rate of data to the SMU Backplane of the chassis, which is 500 MB/s.

I advise you in this case through the technical sales department. You can reach me by phone or email:[email protected].

We can discuss the whole of the project.

  • OR SHC68-68 for the PXI-6255

I see that the PXI-6255 DAQ module recommends the SHC68-68-EPM cable and SHC68-68 cable for each connector. My question, is there any detailed diagrams for the SHC68-68 cable pinout? Is it a one to one with the data acquisition module?

    Hey TreyB

SHC68-68-EPM cables both SHC68-68 have mappings to pin one.  Links to our documentation for pinout for these cables are below:

    The SHC68-68-EPM cable pinout - http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/DE2D842E545DE64B86256F78006EAB1A

    The SHC68-68 cable pinout - http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/26223F0B830148FD862577770069EBC4

You will notice the two cables have different internal shielding, as well as twisted pairs different configurations.  The two are armoured noise outside (the prefix "SH" indicates this).  The SHC68-68-EPM cable is optimized for mixed signals on our X and M Series devices that contain analog and digital channels and offers additional internal shielding between digital and analog lines for better signal integrity. The SHC68-68 cable offers only twisted pair and no armour to protect against digital transients because the cable is intended to be used on the single analog connector.

  • Custom PCB connection

    Hi all

I use the NI SMU-6363 map to control my measurement sequence. The only way to get the signals input/output to the card is through the SHC68-68-EPM cable using the SCB-68 screw terminal has. However, the Terminal screw requires a lot of space useless and wiring, which is essentially redundant in my application. The best way for me would be to make a PCB custom (carrying all relays, sensors, clamping devices, etc.) which would be connected to the Board directly via the cable. I could find the original used to screw terminal connector, but I have found no pinout describing the signals on the connector. It would be nice if NEITHER could share these patterns, so it would not be necessary to use the original or if there is even some (for example Eagle) library that contains these parts. Does anyone have experience with this issue?

Thank you in advance for all your comments!

    Martin

    Dear Martin (Buli),

the pinout of the 6363 is here:

    http://www.NI.com/PDF/manuals/374651c.PDF#page=23 (Fig. 9)

The SHC68-68-EPM cable wiring is here:

    http://digital.NI.com/public.nsf/allkb/DE2D842E545DE64B86256F78006EAB1A

Combining these two information you are able to design a customized with the connector PCB, as for the SCB - 68. BTW the SCB-68 connector has is: PC - E (68) MD or PC - E (68) LMD or PCS-E (68) LMD (T) - depends on the form factor (detroit, right angle, with of boardlock). Or even other "subtypes". Generally, this is a serie.050 connector. Just find a serious producer, and on his site, you can download a template, or demand on their part.

    Hope this helps.

  • Requirements for data aqusition for body MeltMC

    Hello.

Let me Preface this post with the fact that I don't know anything about the material.

I'm trying to compile something that will be used to raise the temp of body at different points on a body of people on

To reduce the impact of failure of wire, thethermistors were connected to the acquisition system of data with a 28 gauge wire.

16 voltage dividers were organized in parallel, and the circuit was fed to 0.5 V (power supply model PS280;) Tektronix, Inc., Beaverton, OR) to minimize

Please let me know if I can move it a more appropriate Board.

    Thanks, J

    Hello J,

A set of material for 16-channel thermistor.

All of the following materials is recommended for this requirement at lower cost:

    SHC68-68-EPM cable and 1.PCI - 6221, http://sine.ni.com/nips/cds/view/p/lang/en/nid/14132

    2.SCXI - 1349 Adapter PCI-6221 and SCXI, http://sine.ni.com/nips/cds/view/p/lang/en/nid/1627

    3 SCXI-1503 and 1306 16-channel thermistor, http://sine.ni.com/nips/cds/view/p/lang/en/nid/204198

You can use LabVIEW SingalExpress that comes with the equipment to record the data, or if you want to do further analysis, LabVIEW can also help.

You don't need to calculate the temperature of acquired resistance.

Software will display a temperature directly, but you must enter a correct setting of the specification of the thermistor.

  • Difference between the SCB-68 box and out manually

    Hi guys,.

I just wanted to know what is the difference between using

-Break SCB-68 box for my SMU-6341

-Identify the SH68 pins (is it possible?)  connection cable in and out manually?

    Thanks in advance!

    Kind regards

    Hi Joel,

The main difference is that SCB-68, or any other accessory wiring or you give I/O facilitate the wiring and guaranteed specifications (e.g., EMC, safety). Out manually is useful when you need to customize your cabling to meet your specific needs. There are a few things you should be aware of when out manually, and these are explained in the Manual of SMU-6341 (page 2-7).

  • What is the difference between the external SCSI cables and cables data acquisition

Hi all, I would like to make a simple extension using an external SCSI cable and a NOR 184749/SH 6868. In other words, it would be: female HD68 bolt of the cable ends OR coupled to an external SCSI HD 68 male with a VHDCI 68 male cable. What are the differences between the external SCSI cables and cables as the (M) 6868EP of the CHS data acquisition. Yes, I realize that NEITHER wants us to buy their cable, but in these economic times difficult, to do use all available resources, so I have to try,.

    Hello

As long as you have compatible connectors, SCSI cables will work DAQ of basic functions.  They have the advantage of NO cables is that we can meet our DAQ hardware.  So, we can create pairs twisted differential pairs to HAVE, using the ground for shielding terminals and generally specialize the cable to minimize noise and crosstalk.  Because the SCSI cables are not specialized, you are likely to see the most noise and, if you go the sampling rates more Rapids, crosstalk.  If you are in a laboratory or factory with a good amount of noise EMF that your readings are not quite as clean, or if you have fluorescent lights you might see 60 Hz noise you might not see otherwise.

If you want more details on the specifications of the SH68-68-EPM cable, I recommend these two articles.  The first example of the twisted pair and the principles of the SH cable shielding and the second gives the most precise specifications that you can compare with when looking for a SCSI cable.

  • Cable M series

I need Custom make a cable for connector PCI-6281 (M series). One end of the cable has a connector, 68 pin VHDCI; the other end is just free. I bought one of National Instruments SHC68-NT-S cable, such as recommended on the web site for custom connections.

I just realized that the twisted cable pair follow assignment of the pins of the connector! There are a few analog inputs (e.g. AI0 and AI8, etc.) which are twisted together rather than be twisted with their GND terminals.

I know it takes a larger cable and a little manual labor to make correctly matched but there at - it such a cable available?

I look forward to your responses.

    Frank

    Hello, Frank.

Unfortunately it is not a cable with this description because each cable is twisted with the corresponding PIN just next door. As you probably already have it, you can check this link for the labelling of all what you son for not confuse:

  • VHDCI to VHDCI DAQ cable

    Hi all

I need to connect our DAQ SMU-6368 maps to a personalized e-card.

Due to the dimensional constraints, we need to use VHDCI connectors to the custom Board.

Thre is a data cable for it?

We have seen that the SHC68-68EPM cable start with VHDI of data acquisition and end with a SCSI 68 pin on the other end.

We need a straight through cable in which both ends are VHDCI.

For boards of HS-DIO is available the NI SHC68-C68-D4 cable that meets our needs but, as I understand it, it is made specifically for HS-DIO and is not suitable for the use of data acquisition.

It is available on a good cable VHDCI-VHDCI DAQ of NOR?

    Thanks for your response

    Hi Luigi,

You can also consider this one.

    I hope that helps!

  • Get a SH68-C68-S cable by a steel sheet

If a PCI on my PC connected via a cable SH68-C68-S to a TBX-68 DIN-rail-mounted connector block. Everything perfect so far, but the system should evolve from laboratory to industrial application. So, I want to position the block TBX-68 on the rail inside electrical control cabinet (and the PC outside). I need an opening for my sheet steel 1.5 mm, while mainting my security IP54.

So far, the solution I came up with that is to get a SHC68-NT-S cable and using the wago cage clamp instead of the TBX-68 connector blocks.

    A better solution?

  • Types of stitching and massive cable USB-6259

While I wait for my USB-6259 with massive endings happen I would like to start working on some PCB for my custom connections and that leaves me with a few questions unanswered.

I'm looking for concrete answers, because the site and the pictures are not very clear.

-Are the cables SH68-68-EPM male to female?

-I see in the descriptions as the unshielded break tips CB-68LPR and CB-68LP have male connectors.

But the armoured breakout boxes (SCB-68) do not tell or show what they have. I guess they have male connectors as well.  It is also why I guess the SH68-68-EPM cable is male-female.

-I can't tell if the unshielded cable R6868 is female-female or gender?  The picture shows 1 female end, but not the other.

-Finally, the documents for the USB-6259 show the pinout for the version terminal screws, but not for the terminals of MASS.

I need to know what are the signals on each pin of the scsi cables to put 68 pins on my custom PCB connectors.

    Thanks for any help
