Envy 13 drive HARD Toshiba MK2533GSG

Hello! I used an HP Envy 13 laptop for a while. Recently, I had a problem with HARD drive of the machine that I couldn't solve. I tried a few software Hiren, formatting, etc. without result. Most likely, the HARD drive is lost use of fo. That's why I need to replace.

This machine has an installed HARD drive Toshiba, model MK2533GSG, 250GB, Serial ATA - 300. All providers, I found that display this HD were out of stock, and some have said that the product has been discontinued.

Could someone help me with this problem? For example, what other similar product could replace this one. I need something with the same physical characteristics, but also with the right physical dimensions that will be suitable in my machine.

Thank you.

When you request assistance, please provide the product number full of HP computer in question. HP/Compaq made thousands of computer models which are all different. Without this information, it can be difficult, even impossible to help you solve your problem.

The information requested above are at the bottom of your computer or inside the battery compartment.

Please see the HP ENVY 13 - Maintenance and Service of Guide for what seems to be the technical requirements of the hard drive of your computer. This computer seems to confirm the following:

While the larger capacities can be supported, need you only a 1.8 "physically 8 mm size hard drive SATA2.

How can I get that back? The HARD drive recovery partition is still there, though. Any ideas?

Only way to reinstall the recovery image is the use of recovery DVDs. I assume that your sister didn't he create in the past. Now she has to order recovery of https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx original DVDs

  • Problems with drive HARD Toshiba MK1234GSX

    Hello

I have an Acer with a secondary HD TOSHIBA MK1234GSX 9920.
Since I installed Windows 7, I have problems with the HD.
Upon restart, the HD is considered as having problems with windows: when I look in device management, I have this message "Windows has stopped this device cause it has problems. (Code 43) »
I did a full scan (chkdsk), but no not found errors.
If I turn off the HD, reactivate and restart, sometimes I can access the HD which works perfectly.
Does anyone have an idea on this?
    Thank you.

PS: Sorry for my English :)

CHKDSK is not good to test a HARD drive for bad sectors, its only good when looking for errors of the filesystem (FAT32 or NTFS).

Test the hard drive to find errors using DFT.
    DFT download: http://www.hitachigst.com/hdd/support/download.htm#DFT

Download the ISO file and burn it to a CD - R disc (there is also a version on disk if it's easier).
If you don't know how to burn an ISO file, read this guide: http://www.petri.co.il/how_to_write_iso_files_to_cd.htm
Restart your laptop and boot from the disc of DFT.
Choose the 'Advanced' test and let it run (it may take an hour or two).
If you see a message in red box, the HARD drive is faulty.
An error code 0 x 70 means there are bad sectors and the HARD drive needs to be replaced.

so I brought the canvio but when I used the product yesterday for the first after seeing the online tutorial I was shock as long as the battery light does not appear when I put it in charge

so I called the service the customer in India, but they aren't for all proceeds from the outside India.
I don't know what to do.

It will be respectful if the toshiba company representative can solve my problem.
future prospects for the positive response

    Hello

I think first of all you must check the information contained in the warranty booklet which should end in the area of the HARD drive.
Why? Because as far as I know, Toshiba hard drives are covered with a valid, standard 2-year guarantee from the date of purchase

    Here are the details:
    http://www.Toshiba.EU/contents/Toshiba_teg/EU/others/SW/WL_HDD.PDF

You will also find this info:
This warranty is warranty return service and is applicable only in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region where the Toshiba or its authorized service providers.

Unfortunately, this means that this collateral standard isn't available and valid in India

I think you should contact the retailer for Dubai because the dealer did not provide you the correct information on the warranty.

  • Need help in providing an interface for drive HARD Toshiba MK2035GSS

Hello, is there anyone who can (and want) to help by providing an interface (e-card) or a functional HDD full, with following specifications:

    Toshiba mk2035gss
    hdd2a30 zw01 s c

The part number is irrelevant, because under the same code p/n, Toshiba distributes hdd different types with the same capacity.
I need to recover data from a failed hard drive, it seems that only the circuit board has been affected by an external power supply (probably) faulty suply.

As a matter of fact, the HARD drive is under warranty, but recovery of the info is (as usual) more important than losing the warranty.

I tried very hard to find a similar pattern, but it seems that this drive is a single (probably specifically made for me, to make me hate my luck :(
Even on ebay, there are 2 models that are very close, but not this one.

If you could help, please contact me by e-mail at [email protected]

    Thank you very much

    Costin.

I don't know what must be unique on this Toshiba HDD.
Is there a difference when compared with similar hard drives produced by different manufacturers?

Have you tried to talk with the Toshiba authorized service provider? Maybe they have a good idea of how to help.

  • Cannot access the drive HARD Toshiba PX1267E - 1 32 - file ONSPCCH.ini problem

I have a Toshiba PX1267E - 32 1 external hard drive as well. It was working fine with my Vista Home Premium OS and has all my data backup on it. It has been password protected.

My desktop HARD drive failed last week and was replaced and an old recovery disc of 12 months used to rebuild.

I then tried to access the external HARD disk to restore the backup I ran the day before the accident, but when I enter the password (that I know is certainly correct) I get the same error as others posting here. He suggested that the input data does not match the information contained in the ONSPCCH.ini file.

I can't disable or change the password as will erase all the data on the external HARD drive. The previous messages direct me on the site of Toshiba, but the options to download an updated driver is no longer correspond to the options available online.

    Help, please! :-(

  • Pavilion 6610f desktop: HP Envy & WARNING: drive hard Imminent failure (please backup and replace immediately!)

Recently, I had 2 different cats with HP Tech Reps in which they used their remote control programs to check on the problems that I had with my new HP Envy 5560 all-in-one.  The next day, at the start of my desktop PC, I got the warning message: "" imminent hard drive failure: if it please take a full backup and replace immediately. "" I did a scan from HP and it showed nothing wrong. There are no pop icons - up or whatever it is on my desktop screen to indicate a problem.  The hard Seagate I have is only 1 years and 89% free space left on it and there is no problem, other than being slow sometimes, before the cats remote and the PC warning.  I came to the forum looking for answers, and the first thing I noticed was a post to say today 09/04/2015 Bent Canuck: "HP Envy Hard Drive Failure" at 06:22. What a coincidence. Think are?  Only some 20 hours from the time I myself first 'hard drive Imminent failure warning' and only about 40 hours after the remote programs have been downloaded (twice) and the rep tech, taking control of my computer (twice).

I ran all the diagnostics that my intermediate PC experience tells me to do.  I checked in the BIOS and I checked all the HP, troubleshooting, etc. on the Assistant HP program performance. I can find no reason for the hard drive to be failing.  I didn't notice it do anything else to be a little slow to start sometimes and slow to load stuff onto the internet, I have assumed it was probably malware and spyware that I must find a way to remove at one point, but I have received no warning about things either.  I get the same caveat and I did a full back, but...

Can someone tell me what to do or how to check and see what the problem is until I have to just chuck the drive because of this warning?

Thank you for the additional information.

Did you run the BIOS CHIP to test your hard drive?  Also, I don't think that the added hard disk HP software had nothing to do with the message you receive.

  • External drive HARD Toshiba 1 TB does not work on my laptop but works on another PC

    Hello
I used my drive external HARD for almost a year with no problems until now. When I hook it up to my laptop and try to open it, the computer laptop everything freezes and I can't do anything.
It is recognized in the Device Manager where it says "this device cannot start. Code 10 "and"the process of hosting the driver for this device has finished".

Should I try to uninstall and reinstall even if it works without problem on another computer?
USB ports on my laptop seem to be OK that other devices work well.

    Thanks for help.

It looks like a USB driver problem.
I think you should first disconnect the HARD drive.
Then go to Device Manager, look for USB hubs and controllers and uninstall/delete all the USB controllers.
After that, restart the system. Wait for USB devices deleted would be recognized and then connect the USB HDD to one of the USB ports.

    I hope this helps.

  • drive hard failure after 2 years of use, is this normal for a 1.6-inch toshiba 80 GB drive

is the lifetime of a drive hard toshiba mini car shorts... and how to get data back now that the player is without a normal connection only a flat cable...

In fact, that would be my next suggestion. If you're technical enough, you can use a Linux, or in your case, USB key bootable CD. I have had several instances where do this on a disk failed HARD still allows me to remove some data. Not everything, but it's worth a shot-to-shot, sure! And even if it doesn't work, you still have the USB key to use.

  • Mystery needs Solution! Drive hard dv6258se

    Hello

I recently got an error #1-07 on my test diagnostic message and decided to replace my hardrive.  I checked the specs for my box and ordered a SSD drive suitable to replace the original disc.  Or at least I thought it was the original drive.  The form of State that my box comes with a SATA I drive, but the bios and Device Manager claim that the drive is SCSI.  My box has been recalled twice to correct the defects/factory model, pourrait HP replaced the SATA drive with SCSI drive during this time?  I check the model number two disks to check what they are, but that did not really help since the original Toshiba MK1234GSX both the new 830 SSD from Samsung come in SATA and SCSI.  I checked the Samsung is SATA, but cannot confirm the Toshiba.

I could format and restore the SSD from the restore disks, but restarting failed and the bios did not find the hard drive.  Subsequent attempts to restart grew up a NVIDIA, read error.  When I put the disc Toshiba back in it starts but is still VERY slow.  Click, wait 10 minutes, click, wait...

Everything I read on the State of the boards that the default value of the bios is SATA, but retoring bios factory settings has not solved the problem.

What is going on?  Please help and advise.

    Thank you.

PS being new I accidentlally posted in the wrong place: you will find a more detailed description in the Desktop section, where I posted recently submitted: hp dv6258se drive hard toshiba appearing as SCSI but spec says SATA

Yes, him talking about HP guy to me and I even found many other complaints about the disks SATA is read as a SCSI, it was a common occurrence from 06-08 and then had no performance impact that is a possible reason why the SSD is not compatible in theory it should be.

.. .He explained that because player plugs directly into the motherboard and the chipset software is only formatted to read things a specific way that it will NEVER be read a SATA as a SATA, which might be why the dv6000 are not able to recognize any SSD.  I.E. HP dv6000 is capricious and has a few quirks, if SSD does not occur.

So I'm going to buy a traditional HD, a cert HP technician think I should be able to go as high as a 500 GB HD, but I really just to get my box of operation, so I agree with a 120 GB.

Thanks for your help solved mystery.

    Thanks in advance.

PS: I'm new to this forum, so if this is not the right place to ask redirect me when this.

    > I have 2 years Toshiba laptop with a HARD drive. I want to improve its performance. I need help on this.
I have 5 years Toshiba laptop and I had the same plan. I've swapped original HDD with SSD and upgraded RAM to the maximum level (8GB). After doing this I installed the original recovery image and optimized it preinstalled version of Windows.

The difference is simply amazing. For example, start Windows went from 2 minutes 30 seconds. I think I don't need to write more info on laptop's performance now.

SSD and RAM upgrades can be done in most cases, by the owner of the laptop and without any risk.

If you need some good advice do not hesitate to ask.

  • HP Envy M6: My HARD drive is not bad on my computer? I have reloaded Win 8 and upgraded to Win 8.1 but he keeps crashing

Hi need help and answers from an expert!

My HP Envy M6 Recenly has stopped working correctly, so I decided to recover as soon as possible.  She still had the same problems, so I decided to restore factory with recovery USB flash drive I did.  Always had the same problem happens after I rebooted 8 Win and improved to 8.1.  It would work for a few minutes and stop working I used chkdsk and it says it fixed a few problems with the drive.

I went through the same steps another 3 times!  After each time that once I had that he would be running again after a clean reinstall.  I would like to run chkdsk and it looks like he fixed some error, but last time, it wouldn't or couldn't find some files to run and crashed.  I tried loading Acronis and tried to reinstall the backup from there but that also failed to correct the problem.  I came to the conclusion that my HD is physically wrong?

I guess the recovery process would reformat the partitions before you reinstall so it's not a logic error (software)?  From the recovery partition, the recovery Flash disk media and recovery software acronis can fix this, I can only assume, there is a problem with the drive itself?

Is there a way to check this?  I don't mind replacing the drive to a SSD, so this isn't a problem, but I can't seem to find a product key.  Nothing printed on the bottom.  I read somewhere that it is now integrated with the motherboard bios so can I just use the recovery media that I did on a flash drive?

Also, I have my backup file but I could never find the location of the image my wife loaded as the photo of "lock" screen which I do not have a copy of.  I have the backup files for windows 8.1 by Acronis and according to me, a Windows backup file on a backup drive, but I was wondering if these "locked screen hidden image" would be held somewhere in these data?  It is not under the images and I have never been able to find or understand where windows keeps this image.  I used the search without success.

Of course, this is not critical, but I hate losing this particular image.  I hope it's keep somewhere in my back upward and when restoring with a new drive hard I can reload the backup and restore.

So I really ned knowledge step by step: my HD is bad?  How can I check without having to spend hours to reload only to fail?

Why chkdisk does not?  Or should I simply replace HD and if so what can I use the new disk recovery media and product ID will be accessible through the motherboard?

I intend to upgrade to win 10, but I need Win 8 loading first, then move to 8.1 then move to Win 10?  Also in the future if it crashes how can I recover to win 10? Since it is free now but will not be later.  The upgrade will allow me to make a copy (a copy) to win 10?

A lot of questions, but please provide the fastest solution to my problems and concerns.

    Thank you in advance!

    FM Hawaii

    Hello fmhawaii ;

I read your post on your PC crashing and wanted to help.

It certainly seems that your hard drive has failed.  Some PC allows the drive to check in the BIOS: test a hard drive in the BIOS. HP® customer support

If that confirms that the disc is bad, then you will need to replace it.

As for activation, you are right in that, with Win8x machines, the product key is embedded in the motherboard UEFI firmware, however, the instructions in this link, show you how to recover: find product - key for Windows 8

When you restore from recovery media, which is supposed to automatically read product key, so you will not have to enter something to activate reinstall it.  My guess is that the drive problems that prevented from happening.

Acronis allows you to mount an image file by using a drive letter, and once you do this, you should then be able to browse through the content to find the file you want.  However, depending on what part of the logon icon changed, it might be embedded image in a Windows system file, and unless there is a separate copy of this image, it will be very difficult to recover.  IF you Google it, you might be able to find downloadable tools for disassembly of this file and subseuent extraction of this file.

I wouldn't hurry to Win10, but if you choose to follow this path, don't forget to make a new advance Acronis backup, then you can return to a system of Win8x of work if something is wrong - as the Win10 GoBack function is known to be unreliable.

    Good luck

I'm a volunteer and I do not work for, or represent, HP.
