  Just bought a new A100-147 and found that the volume through the built-in speakers is extremely low, even when the scroll bar on the sound setting has been set up. Anyway already activated the manual volume on the Esc key control.

  The answer: there is a button for volume control on the front of the laptop! I'm glad it wasn't just me who does not have this spot!

  Hi, need help.

  I have the satellite A100-147, been works well for a couple of the year, but in recent weeks a land virtually at a standstill, takes between 5-10 minutes at startup and when starting and once started the sound is as if memory is slow (like distorted) even at sign in when windows tune time.

  I've owned an Equium A100-147 for only less than a year.

  The problem I have is that if I put pressure on the area around the left speaker (where is the VGA port) there is a substantial "cracking" / rattling noise. The right does not exhibit this problem.

  The other day with a same case design (model Satellite A), I got another PC Toshiba laptop and it seems to have a slightly stiffer construction quality.

  Is it worth getting it checked under warranty while I still have the warranty? Or am I just too picky?

  Interestingly enough, why you support on the area around the speakers. As far as I know the speakers are placed between the keyboard and display and keyboard there is no pressure to the speakers. Very strange method to test the functionality of the laptop! ;)

  In any case, you should contact the service because the speaker should be placed and fixed correctly.

  Of course you need a compatible HARD drive.
  There are two different standards of HARD drive. SATA and IDE

  You need the HARD drive with the SATA interface. I think the original HARD drive was 100 GB.
  So a 120 GB and maybe a 160 GB SATA HDD should also be compatible.

  As far as I know the HARD drive slot was placed at the bottom of the unit and a screw secures the plastic cover.
  It of really not difficult to replace the HARD drive and I think that the details could be found in the user manual.

  Hi all, I bought a used Tecra A3. With Win XP Professional, service pack 3. I have not all records with him.

  Please do not be angry on me, but make you it so complicated. Let's be clear on this:

  Saved on DVD of recovery recovery image contains the operating system, all necessary drivers, Toshiba tools and utilities and some additional applications such as a DVD player. So if you want to install the OS by using Toshiba recovery media will be deleted all content saved on the HDD, formatted partitions and lately OS will be installed.   I bought an Equium A100-147 last week and noted in the manual it should have Bluetooth capabilities. However, I can't get this to work. I looked for my phone, and it does not pick up the computer as a bluetooth device. In the help files, it says I can set it up in the bluetooth settings in the Control Panel, but there is nothing in there. I tried to install the battery Bluetooth Toshiba, but it keeps asking me to install the bluetooth device.

  This computer actually has bluetooth abilities or not? If so, how can I get this to work?

• Upgrade of RAM Equium A100-147

  Hi, I have an Equium A100-147 with the standard of 1 GB of RAM (512 MB + 512 MB pc-4200) professional XP.

  I'd like to update, and I was wondering if it would be allowed to replace one of the 512 MB sticks with a single stick of 2 GB pc-5300. RAM would be then 2 GB pc-5300 plus 512 MB pc-4200 = 2.5 GB in total.

  Or would it be better to buy 2 x 1 GB sticks of pc-5300 and sell or discard existing memory?

  I see a significant speed increase over the existing configuration of the Ram?

  I agree with Akuma, it would be better to use 2 x 1 GB modules.

  This combination with 2 GB and 512 MB with different (PC4200 and PC5300) specifications could make problems like freezing, BSOD, etc..

  At present, the price of memory is very cheap, so I think that this should not be a problem.

  I think you're talking about the BIOS password.
  This password can be set or removed in the BIOS and its type of protection.
  Without knowing this password you will not be able to boot Windows system

  Also it is not possible to remove this password if you know n t s the old password.
  Only the technician of the ASP (authorized service provider) would be able to bypass and remove this password

  So I see only one solution; local ASP contact and ask for help.

  Hi, I recently bought a laptop A100-147 - accepted a view model that I had trouble getting one of them. On the beautiful screen, the screen resolution is 1024 x 768 - that it and 640 x 480 and 800 x 600 are available. This sounds awfully stretched.

  Is this correct? Or do I have to create a different graphics driver that allows me to select a screen resolution?

  According to the description of the Equium A100-147 comes with color Wide XGA TFT 15.4 TruBrite display ". The standard resolution of this monitor is 1280 x 800. If you dot have this one please install graphic driver. You can find it on the download page of Toshiba under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com support & downloads.

  I can't imagine that it happens after the first start. You have preinstalled your own operating system?

  I have a laptop Equium A100-147. I tried many games on my laptop which should conform to the specifications required for example battlefield 2, however, these games does not work and I didn't know why. I then realized that all the games I tried were all on 4 DVD-ROM drive demanding x, and the specifications I provided with my laptop did not specify what kind of DVD player, I had another super multi layer or something.

  It is while I tried the games that were demanding CD-ROM which all worked fine, I then tried a game that was 2 x DVD ROM demanding that worked apart from a small problem with models of characters not displayed, so I took back defective. Then I tried a 1 x DVD-ROM game that worked perfectly.

  Today, I decided to get my DVD specifications, where I found that my laptop should read 8 x DVD - ROM drives.
  So my question is, is my defective DVD player for not playing more than 1 x DVD - ROM games? And can I contact Toshiba or my provider for repair or replacement or my problem would be something else?

  As far as I know the laptop was delivered with the drive UJ - 841S and the drive supports 8 x DVD-ROM.
  Of course, there must be something wrong if the drive cannot read DVD-ROM media at full speed. The middle is not supported or the drive malfunctions

  What you can do is search for the update of the firmware. Many laptops come with the same drive. See the categories of driver and, possibly, there is a new update of the firmware.

  You can also try to remove the physical drive from the laptop and reboot the device without the drive. Then turn off the appliance, install the drive again and the boot upward.
  The laptop must initialize the firmware again and maybe this will help

  But it seems you notebook is not very old and the warranty is valid. If you need to contact the ASP in your country for more details and possibly for disc replacement
