  I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop ancient - about four or five years. I'd give the model number, but unfortunately it has rubbed off the label underneath - is possible to find this out (I think it's a L300 - or something).

  Sometimes (often) when I open the lid and the springs of the computer in the life, the connection is at Local level only rather than Local and Internet. A reboot solves this problem, but a reboot takes about five minutes, which can be a pain if I want to use the Internet for half a minute.

  Come to use the laptop now and it wouldn't connect - or rather, wouldn't get all web pages. This time the connection was showing however as "Local and Internet". I don't think it's the browser - use us Firefox or Chrome. In addition, the computer will automatically connect to Skype and it is only in a State of the connection.

  It is under Windows Vista Home premium and use AVG as a virus checker - if that makes a difference. I have a new Toshiba netbook and that works perfectly on the same wireless network. I have not tried this portable annoying on a different network.

  To be honest I didn t understand your problem.
