Error 800F0826

I just updated my computer to Vista 64-bit for Windows 7 64 bit and I have 53 updates to Windows that it cannot install, whenever I get the message that my computer cannot configure updates. Most shows the error 800F0826, which seems to relate to Vista. Has anyone else experienced this and found a cure?

Windows Update error 800f0826

Windows Update error 800f0826 is displayed when an update for Windows has failed to install and prevents you from installing additional updates. Error 800f0826 does not identify the update that caused the problem. The update that caused the problem will display a different error. This problem only affects updates for Windows and does not prevent you to install or to automatically receive updates for otherMicrosoft programs such as Microsoft Office System.

See - http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Windows-Update-error-800f0826

You will need to find the update which is a failure and this error code, it is the display.

  1. Open Windows Update by clicking the Start button, all programs and then click Windows Update.
  2. In the left pane, click view update history.
  3. Find an update for Windows that has failed to install, and then double-click the update to view more information.
Updates that have failed to install will display failed under status, next to the name of update.
  4. In the Windows Update dialog box, next to the details of the error, review the error code for the update has failed.

Follow the links in the Windows Update dialog box under more information or help and Support to resolve the problem, then try to reinstall updates by using Windows Update in Control Panel or by mail with the error code and maybe someone may be able to help others.

  • Vista 32 cannot apply Service Pack 1

I tried to install Service Pack 1, but I get a generic error 800F026 which, according to the web sites is not useful. This occurs after he gets throughout the update 3 3 100% then it takes it out of the reports.

How to understand why it is ancestral?

    Hello

To resolve the problem, follow the steps in Trek Dozier:

Error code: 800F0826 (cannot install Service Pack 1)

If you have a bunch of updates failed and are not offered SP1, the faster would be to do a factory restore.  Then immediately, run Windows Update until you are offered are no longer updated.  Then you can reinstall the programs and data.

Run the system update tool and the File Checker - post system to see Jared M for instructions.

You can try also to rename C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution directory tracking temporary Windows Update as follows:

    1. start an administrative command prompt.

    2. run the following commands pressing on enter after each line:

    Net stop wuauserv

    CD %SystemRoot%\System32

    Ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old

    Net start wuauserv

    3. try to reinstall updates

Important the following symptoms occur when you perform this operation:

    • Updates that are currently downloaded but which have not yet been installed must be downloaded again by using Windows Update or Microsoft Update.

    • When you remove the Software Distribution folder, your download history is deleted.

    • If you currently receive updates from Microsoft Update and Windows Update, you will need to reselect this option from the Windows Update Web site.

Note: If the problem is resolved and you can successfully download and install the updates, you can safely remove the SoftwareDistribution.old directory to recover disk space.

Once more, note it is important that you restart (even two) to make sure that everything is re-created correctly.

  • Windows 7 - error Code: 80000004 (cannot install updates)

Up to this point, I never had problems with Windows Update, but over the last week have not constantly of my updates. At the beginning, I had about ten or fifteen years updates that all has failed. All but two, updates failed with Code 800F0826, including a search on the internet mention secondary code, which indicates that the update failed, but another update with a different code was at the origin of the problem. So I tried to run all the updates with the code 800F0826, he crossed without incident.

The other two updates failed with Code 80000004, which I can't find a single move on, through the help on Windows Update or through internet research.

The two specific updates that fail have done so consistently for several days, if I try to install alone or together, manually, or through the automatic update settings, that I put in place.

Two updates that fail are as follows:

Update security for Windows 7 for x 64-based systems (KB2378111)

    Error details: Code 80000004

    Installation status: failed

    Update type: Important

A security issue has been identified that could allow an unauthenticated remote attacker to compromise your system and take control. You can protect your system by installing this update from Microsoft. After you install this update, you may have to restart your system.

    More information: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=201098

    and on the other hand

    Update for Windows 7 for x 64-based systems (KB2345886)

    Installation status: failed

    Error details: Code 80000004

    Update type: Important

Install this update to help strengthen authentication information in specific scenarios. After you install this item, you may have to restart your computer.

    More information: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=202472

The second update seems not be necessary, but the first seems important enough.

Any person who can provide assistance would be much appreciated. For what it's worth, I am quite computer literate; I've been building and now my own systems and a few small servers for many years. I'm just at a loss when I get an error like this, and I can't find documentation on the error online code.

  • Error code 1935, Code 643 & Code 8007000 b appears when I try to update Windows

Hi, I hope I'm posting in the right part of the forum. I just had to restart my computer after a virus & I now get 1935 error code, Code 643 & Code 8007000 b appears when I try to update.

There are currently something like 100 updates of odd windows trying to download right now & that none will not charge.

    The full error message for Error 1935 is - Microsoft.VC90.ATL, version = "9.0.30729.1', the public key token ="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b"processorArchitecture ="x 86", type = win32" HRESULT:0x800736B3 "

I don't know if this makes no sense.

A small digression - when I try to update Java, the error message contains something about a connection "proxy" regarding the internet connection. I'll contact my ISP that do of course all is on their end.

I don't have a great understanding of the side 'tech' of computers so I hope this is enough information. Thanks for any help you can give me :)

I'm leaving the Vista operating system. Are you sure that you are now free of infection?

How to reset the Windows Update settings?
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/971058

Otherwise, you will need to consider more updates failed if no help not reset the settings of WU etc..

    1. open Windows Update by clicking the Start button, all programs and then click Windows Update.

    2. in the left pane, click view update history.

    3. find an update for Windows that has failed to install, and then double-click the update to view more information.

Updates that have failed to install will display failed under status, next to the name of update.

    4. in the Windows Update dialog box, next to the details of the error, review the error code for the update has failed.

    5. click on the links in the dialog box Windows Update under more information or help and Support to try to solve the problem, then try to reinstall updates by using Windows Update in Control Panel or by mail with the error code and maybe someone may be able to help others.

Note If you see the error code '800f0826' in your history, it indicates a previous update failed to install and additional facilities prevent the updates. If the information reveals 800f0826 move on the following, until you get the update that displays a different error code of 800f0826.

Once you have located the update that failed and caused the problem, so that must be fixed before you can install other updates.
