Problems with the windows firewall and security

I have a laptop running under 7 and windows firewall are not available.  I get error x 80070424.  (Windows Firewall cannot access some of your settings)  Most of the posts I read tell me to go to control panel services and start the service of security.  I'd do it except the security service was not FOUND.  Searching for information on how to restore this function is useless.  I really need to solve this problem.  I run malwarebytes on the system and removed a lot of bad things, run Norton power Eraser and it removed another bho, but I can't solve this problem.  Help, please.

Thank you

Bob

Original title: Windows Live Hotmail only opens a new window links e-mail composition!

I recently put my Windows Live Hotmail account to my default e-mail client in Internet Explorer 8 on my Windows XP SP3 System. Unfortunately, whenever I click on a link to e-mail on a Web page to open a new message, Hotmail tells me, "Sorry, there seems to be a problem with Hotmail right now", and a new/compose message window does not open. I disabled the HTTPS option in Hotmail, which fixed the problem. However, when I went to do a manual update of Windows, I am nailed with a Trojan horse! Apparently, the Windows Firewall and Microsoft Security Essentials have been affected by turning off HTTPS in Hotmail! It's 2012, and it's terribly disappointing that Microsoft only has not ironed out all the imperfections in these services now. If anyone can give me a solution (in simple terms), I would appreciate it!

  • try to install Medal of Honor Airborne on 32-bit vista, and problems with the windows firewall starts do not.

    OK, im losing my mind.

I bought a copy of airborne for my 32 bit vista system and found initially that I had to do a few tricks to install and play it like UN-installing ageia phys-x, it was simple enough. Well I have had since stopped playing it and would try to uninstall without result. I tried to fix it and using "C-cleaner.

I went down some of the files, but I think that my registry is a little buggy so I tried blocking it with c cleaner, he sure found several errors and fixesd them.

Well, I'm trying now to re - install MOHA and when I put the disc and click autorun the pre-start games window appears with the usual options, play, upgrade, site Web etc... I hit play, it does nothing. I tried to uninstall it from the disk and to halfway through she said "MOHA has not stopped the Installation Wizard prematurely try again later". I can't repair or uninstall or install. I read somewhere that it is a firewall with windows problem and if I run my firewall victory "which I have never on", this should work if the software is added to the 'green' list on the firewall.

now I find that I can not get my firewall to start. I researched and found a few forums where people explained to the services command prompt and tried to 'start' several 'order' in there and firewall programs will not start giving me this error-windows cannot start service windows firewall. and the code of error-6801.

I am a novice to tooling autour under the 'software' hood of PCs. I know a bit about the material and that's it. anyone has any ideas for me? otherwise I'm looking to another disorder vista install, I had a moment difficult, installation of the 1st hour and im not not looking forward to try it again...

Thanks in advance, has soon - a fool lose his mind...

    Hi rocknerd,.

You can try to download the Windows Installer Cleanup utility and try to remove the game, and then reinstall it.

You can read the following article to download the Windows Installer Cleanup utility:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/290301

    1. click on Start , then select all programs

    2. in all programs , click Windows Installer Cleanup; the Windows Installer Clean Up Utility window appears, listing the software currently installed on your computer.

    3. Select the game in the list, then click on Remove. If you have multiple files, delete all the.

After you run the Windows Installer Cleanup utility try to re install the game and check if it works on your computer.

  • I have a problem with the Windows Firewall work is not on the computer.

Original title: windows firewall does not work?

Have a laptop (Dell Inspiron) it has a virus on it (the fbi one) and then after I got rid of him, found others. Trouble with turning on the firewall, this time no error just sits and circles around. Uninstalled anti-virus programs, then installed a new run malware and tried a few things online. Tried to copy the registry from a windows 7 to another, no change (bfi or something like that).

Tried to repair and that has not worked yet.

Is there anything like that, I can extract, or a .dll file that could fail to clear up this problem. Downloaded avast and computer seems to work quite well. I would like to fix without having to reinstall everything.

    Thanks, Bruce

It can now work. I launch tdsskiller and what he said, restarted.

I have green shields now, even if I'm running emisoft emergency kit and which shows a Trojan horse, a rootkit and a gen.varient as other programs didn't pick up before, I ran malware and 2 other anti-virus programs before tdsskiller. Even tried rkill.

    Thanks, Bruce

  • Windows Firewall and Security Center will not start, error 1068 and 1079

I can't start my firewall Windows, error: 1079... or Security Center, error: 1068. Can help you with this question? When I try to access the Dependencies tab I get this error: Win 32: the specefied for this service is different from the specefied to account for other services running in the same process.

I checked to see if dependencies were the same account before I got the message of 'Win 32' and WMI Service runs in the same account (Local Service) as firewall and Security Center, but the RPC Service is running on the Network Service account and cannot be changed via the services console, because the account fields are gray and cannot be viewed or modified. I try to avoid using the tool 'SubInACL' because I don't want to reset the whole registry.

    Help, please!

    The other post:

I had a problem with obtaining the Windows Firewall and Security Center to start. Service account permissions have been changed at some point, including the depedencies. I get the error 1079 on the Windows Firewall and 1068 on the Security Center. Both are defined on the Local Service, but dependence, the CPP is set to Network Service and cannot be changed because the user fields are gray. I try to avoid using the SubInACL.exe because I don't want to reset the whole registry. Can you help me please?

No, I'm not on a domain. I connect via a open wireless "hotspot". My main problem is; I don't have a Firewall or Security Center. Nor will begin. I get the error: 1068, to Security Center and an error: 1079 on Windows Firewall. When I try to access the dependencies on either I get this window:

WIN 32: The account specified for this service is different from the account specified for other services running in the same process.

A month ago I made the mistake of trying to brand of ACDSee of security, "ACDOne" which includes software "BitDefender". That's when I lost my firewall and Security Center. BIG MISTAKE! I uninstalled and deleted all the files that I found that have been left.

My Security Essentials and Windows Defender work very well. I'm stuck and need help with this please! Please, I beg you! Someone... Help!

    Hello

    Problems with the Windows Sidebar?

It seems that the problem is related to the Windows Sidebar. Remove all third-party sidebar gadgets if

Follow these steps and check if it helps.

    Logon as administrator-

    a. If the sidebar is running - make a right click on the sidebar near the lower clock icon right in and out

    b. Click Start - Type "CMD" in the search box - find top - right click it and run as administrator.

    c. replace C:\Program Files\Windows Sidebar by copying and pasting this command->

    CD C:\Program Files\Windows Sidebar

    d. press enter (this is assuming that your sidebar is on C:, otherwise use the letter of the drive is on)

    Guest should be--> C:\Program Files\Windows Sidebar >

    e. then copy and paste each of them following their tour to enter

    regsvr32-u sbdrop.dll

    regsvr32-u wlsrvc.dll

    regsvr32 atl.dll

    regsvr32 sbdrop.dll

    regsvr32 wlsrvc.dll

    Sidebar should now work.

An Antivirus is a fundamental need for security to prevent malware being installed.

Malware to disable your firewall and your safety programs.

Scan of Malware in Safe Mode with network.

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/how-to-start-Windows-in-safe-mode/#Vista

    Windows Vista

    Using the F8 method:

    1. Restart your computer.
    2. When the computer starts, you will see your computer hardware are listed. When you see this information begins to tap the F8 key repeatedly until you are presented with the Boot Options Advanced Windows Vista.
    3. Select the Safe Mode with networking with the arrow keys.
    4. Then press enter on your keyboard to start mode without failure of Vista.
    5. To start Windows, you'll be a typical logon screen. Connect to your computer and Vista goes into safe mode.
    6. Do whatever tasks you need and when you are done, reboot to return to normal mode.

Once in Safe Mode with network, download and run RKill.

RKill does NOT remove the malware; It stops the Malware process that gives you a chance to remove it with your security programs.

I borrowed a USB to a person at work and I started having problems with the wireless mouse and the carpet of my laptop - Lenovo ThinkPad T420 mouse. The left click of two devices works normally, however, sometimes she does not respond to clicks and it takes a few seconds to work. The left button was constantly starts to turn on, as if he was stuck. After that I hit Alt + Tab and modify windows it stops for a few moments and starts at a later date. I havo not found a specific condition or a combination of keys that may trigger the fault.

I read a few posts on discussion forums, but all say that it could be a hardware problem, which I think is not, because both devices have the same problem and I'm sure it all started with the insertion of the borrowed memory stick. I scanned the readers to help Symantec's EndPoint Protection and installed Microsoft Security Essentials and performed a full scan, but found nothing. I even restored the system, but the problem remains.

It is without a doubt.  There were a few patches published today, and I was able to update all my machines successfully.  This looks more like a virus problem.  Have you run a virus scan recently?  Many times, if you are infected the virus will prevent you to access Windows Update.

You can also use Microsoft Fix It to reset the Windows Update components: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058.  This could also be your problem.

Let me know how it goes,
