error c000021a

I completely formatted my hard drive on my dell 420 xps system. I can't access my partion of course and now my computer has problems. any ideas?

How you format the hard drive (usng what process and what type of program)?  You format ALL partitions?  If the entire disk is formatted there is none left to access - they are all formatted (but you should always be able to re - install the operating system.

What are you trying to do at this point?  Are you trying to re - install Vista?  You have an Installation of Vista genuine disc or the manufacturer's recovery disc?  If you use a recovery disk, you must discuss the process of recovery with the manufacturer, as we have access to this information or know the process or know what is on the disk.  I don't know that Dell will be willing to help you.

If it is a disk of Vista Windows genuine, just insert it in the drive and start it.  You may need to change the BIOS to do first the CD drive in the boot sequence to boot from the CD.  To do this, hold the screen that tells you the key F to push to enter the menu start or start of installation.  Push it quickly. Make the changes, save your work and exit.  Put the CD in the drive and reboot.  When you are prompted, press any key to boot from the CD.  Then follow the instructions to install the operating system as a clean install.  Do a clean install follow these steps: http://www.winsupersite.com/showcase/winvista_install_03.asp (taking into account the necessary adaptations by the procedures of the manufacturer of your computer).  Then you will need to re - install all your programs, reset all preferences, reconfigure your network settings and e-mail, restore your backup of the data, run Windows Update with possibly close to 100 updates pending...  The installation process should ask you to format the disk and create partitions if you want.

If you are unable to do, post back with the text OF any error message you receive.

I hope this helps.

Good luck!

  • I get a msg of error c000021a fatal system error?

    Hello
I get those blue screen messeges on my dell inspiron 6000 all the time.
The last I got is Fatal system the c000021a windos process ended unexpectedly with status 0xc0000005 (0x7c910a19 0x011bf9f0) subsystem.
What does this mean? I just shut down the computer laptop and rebooted...
Also my laptop works really slow and my Explorer keeps freezing. I have Kaspersky as protection against the virus, AdvancedSystem care and Smart Ram... are these bad programs for my laptop? Thank you...

    eckfl,
This error can be caused by a few different things, such as bad RAM, a virus or a software problem.  To resolve this error, I suggest you do the following.

Test your memory with the Memory Diagnostic.

    Perform a clean boot

Follow the steps in this article to resolve problems with a clean boot.

Advanced problem resolution by clean restart.

Insofar as your slow system, can help the clean boot, that much.  Also, here is an article that will keep your system works correctly.

    Regarding your question:
Kaspersky is a well-known antivirus reputible. However I do not think any AV program can stop all viruses out there.  Occasionally, you can run a scan online of another company.

I don't know anything about Advanced System Care or Ram Smart.  However, I can tell that items you have running, the less CPU and memory resources, you must run the operating system and programs with.

    I hope this helps.

My friends computer is an HP with windows vista home 64-bit edition.  It's getting an error code of which follows: stop: c000021a (fatal system error) the verification of a knowndll failed.  system process finished in unexpected ways with the State of 0xc0000020 (ox8a3a36c8 0x00000000). the system stopped.  It cannot start window normally or in safe mode.  Ran startup repair, and that Startup Repair cannot repair this computer automatically. What should I do next? Any help would be appreciated!

    Hi Maf3246,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site!

I suggest you follow these methods.

    Method 1

    Last known good configuration

It's a Windows startup option that uses the most recent system settings that worked correctly. Whenever you turn your computer off and Windows shuts properly, important system settings are saved in the registry. If a problem occurs, you can restart your computer using these parameters. For example, if a new driver for your video card is at the origin of the problems, or an incorrect registry setting is preventing Windows from starting correctly, you can restart your computer by using the last good known Configuration.

    1. remove all floppy disks, CDs, and DVDs from your computer and restart your computer by clicking the Start button, clicking the arrow next to the shut down button, and then clicking restart.

    2. do one of the following:

    ·         If your computer has a single operating system installed, press and hold the F8 key as your computer restarts. You need to press F8 before the Windows logo appears. If the Windows logo appears, you need to try again by stopping and restarting your computer.

    ·         If your computer has more than one operating system, use the arrow keys to select the operating system you want to start, and then press F8.

    3. in the display Advanced Startup Options , use the arrow keys to select last known good Configuration (Advanced), and then press ENTER.

    4. If your computer has multiple operating systems installed, use the arrow keys to select the operating system that you want to start using the last good known Configuration, and then press ENTER. Windows will then resume starting normally.

    Method 2

CHKDSK (Chkdsk.exe) is a command-line tool that checks volumes for problems. The tool tries to repair any that it finds.

    1 boot from the DVD
    2. Select the language
    3. click on "Repair your computer" on the install now screen
    4. click Next in the System Recovery Options screen
    5. click on command prompt.
6 type the command chkdsk and press enter

    Method 3

    Offline system restore.

    1 boot from the DVD
    2. Select the language
    3. click on "Repair your computer" on the install now screen
    4. click Next in the System Recovery Options screen
    5. click on system restore.
    6. choose the date that you want to restore

  • system error c000021a fatal

I get this error code tracking 0xc0000006, 0x75eb4f51, 0x0069e15c.  I have a computer dell laptop that won't let me do anything.  I hit the F8 key while turning on the computer and he won't start in safe mode or anything.

I have several mistakes STOP c0000021a in my notes and knows how to fix them, but nothing like as what you posted.

There is always more to the message when I see these mistakes than what you have listed.

Is it really all that you see or is it most associated with the message?

I suspect that AVG deleted a file system of the XP Christiane thinking that he was infected (maybe it was).

If he were winlogon.exe, you can just replace it (using a copy/paste) the backup copy on your hard drive from a bootable CD, you can do (no XP media required).  Answered in the affirmative if invited to replace the existing file.

You can search your HARD drive for winlogon.exe and replace the one in c:\windows\system32.

Places to find a copy are:

    c:\Windows\System32\dllcache

    c:\windows\ServicePackFiles\i386

Answered in the affirmative if invited to replace the existing file.

You're always going to have to start on something to fix no matter what it is, so I could do this:

Do you have a Hiren BootCD you can download here:

    http://www.hirensbootcd.NET/

On the left, click on download, scroll down, choose the latest version, the download link is a little hard to see.  It is at the bottom of the page, above the drop for older versions and looks like this (click this component to download the ZIP file):

Direct HTTP mirror + Torrent, Torrent Magnet

Click the "Live HTTP Mirror" link to start the download and save the ZIP file on your desktop of somewhere that you can remember.

The ZIP file is large, so the download will take probably some time to complete.  Then unzip the download to extract the Hirens.BootCD.ISO file that will be used to create your new bootable CD.

Create a bootable CD. ISO file is not the same as simply copying the. File ISO onto a blank CD.  You must use software that includes how to burn a. ISO to a CD to create a bootable CD.

File ZIP the Hiren is the file BurnToCD.cmd that you can double-click to launch it.  The BurnToCD.cmd will use the file BurnCDCC.exe to burn the. ISO file onto a blank CD using your existing CD burner.  You can also use your own burning software as long as your software is able to create a bootable CD. ISO file.  More modern burning programs can create a bootable CD. ISO image.  Create a CD from an ISO image bootable is not the same as just the file on a CD burning.

If you need a simple and CD burning, this is a free software popular software:

    http://www.ImgBurn.com/

Here are some instructions for ImgBurn:

    http://Forum.ImgBurn.com/index.php?showtopic=61

It would be a good idea to test your new bootable CD on a computer running.

You may need to adjust the computer BIOS settings to use the CD-ROM drive as the first device to boot instead of the hard drive.

These adjustments are made before Windows tries to load.  If you miss it, you will need to restart the system again.

When starting on the Hiren's CD, you will see a menu of options.  Choose Mini XP.  It will appear while Windows is loading and you will be presented with a desktop computer that has the look and feel of the interface of Windows Explorer, you are already accustomed to using.

Using the Mini XP, you can access the Internet, maneuver around your system, search for files, copy files, replace the files, run the scans for malware, edit the text files (like the c:\boot.ini) etc.

There are dozens of free and useful tools included in the CD that can be used to repair your system or copy your important personal files on another device (like a USB device or an external drive) in the case where you just give up and decide to reinstall your XP (I hope that you will not make this decision).

Do, or do not. There is no test.

I need YOUR voice and the points for helpful answers and propose responses. I'm saving for a pony!

    Bug Check 0xC000021A: STATUS_SYSTEM_PROCESS_TERMINATED

This means that an error has occurred in a subsystem essentially user mode.

    http://msdn.Microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff560177%28VS.85%29.aspx

    Cause

This error occurs when a subsystem of mode user, such as WinLogon or the Client Server Run-Time Subsystem (CSRSS), irremediably compromised and security can not be guaranteed. In response, the operating system goes into kernel mode. Microsoft Windows cannot run without WinLogon or CSRSS. Therefore, it is one of the rare cases where the failure of a user mode service can stop the system.

Incompatible system files can also cause this error. This can happen if you restored your hard disk from a backup. Some backup programs may skip restoring system files which they determine are in use.

    Resolution

If the error occurs during the system startup, restart your computer, and then press F8 to character-based menu that displays the choice of operating system. In the WindowsAdvanced Options menu that results, select the last known good Configuration option. This option is most effective when a pilot or a service is added at a time.

Please, start Windows Explorer and navigate to the C:\Windows\Minidump folder. Then, copy the files to your desktop, zip dmp dmp all in 1 zip file and download the zipfile to your Skydrive [1] and post a link here, so that I can watch the discharges with the debugger and to see the cause of the accident.
