The first time I ran it, it failed. I sat there thinking why it would fail and I realized that since I have problems with Windows 8.1, I should try running in mode feature of Windows 7.

  I returned Setup folder, right-click right, went to properties, clicked on the "compatibility" tab, is descended in the "compatibility mode" and choose "run this program in compatibility mode for: ' and selected Windows 7. I then clicked 'apply', then 'OK' and I went back and double click on the setup in the folder icon. It worked like a charm. My computer is back to normal.

  I'm running Windows 8.1 image using efi instead of the BIOS.  The machine will start the ISO, but then I get an error of windows stating "Setup could not create a new partition system or locate an existing partition of the system" how doe I will do this.

  I have a Windows 7 Enterprise system that I've successfully upgraded to Windows 8 business. Next step must now go to Enterprise 8.1. The whole idea was to avoid the re-setup and well with Windows 8.
  The problem is that when I switch to Windows 8.1 it installs then boots. During the startup, it stops with an error winload.exe is missing for corruption. Code 0xc0000098. All of the keys in the same message results accept the option to boot another OS (F9 I think). It starts in Windows 8 and said he couldn't install 8.1 and that 8 has been restored.   I have a hp envy 15-j022el. I also bought a Samsung SSD 840 Evo to replace the internal hard drive 1 TB. I cloned the SSD HD with Aomei Partition Wizard 5.5 standard edition. Everything went well and the HD has been cloned to SSD. Then I replaced the hard drive with the ssd to the inside of the laptop, but once I turned on the PC I get the following error screen.

• Error message for WIndows 7 Image restoration software

  I get the error message, do a restore image on a new hard drive. It says "image has been created on the computer with the help of EFI and the computer uses the Bios". Have a backup of windows external disk image. Failed hard drive. Replaced the hard drive. Repair disc I created did not work. Started from the original system disk and asked to restore the image. Same computer in question, no change except old drive shot and the new drive installed. Restore from a MyBook via the USB port of the image. Any ideas how to fix?

  I recently bought a G2 Mini ProDesk of 600 which I am very happy with. However, I can't the computer to start from the m2 NVMe SSD I installed it. There is no problem to use it as a second drive in Windows and also no problem Windows installation on it, but even though I can see it in the BIOS and select to boot from, I get a message "no boot device."

  Is it possible that a new machine that has a port of m2 in height, cannot manage boot from a drive is? HP has no information that I can find on this issue, or can someone help me find it? Anyone know?

  I had a similar problem with the mini HP ProDesk 600 G2 and Plextor PX-G128M6e.

  He helped disable legasy and loading security modes in the BIOS: Advanced-> Security Boot Configuration-> Legasy support turn off and disable secure boot.

  And also disable PCIe power management: Advanced-> Power Management Options-> PCI Express Power management.

  Without disable Windows power management could won't start the SSD with errors:

  "The application or the operating system could not be loaded because a required file is missing or contains errors.
  File: \Windows\system32\winload.efi
  "Error code: 0xc0000185.

  After these settings Windows installs and runs correctly since the SSD drive.

  P.S., Plextor PX-G128M6e is M.2 AHCI PCIe SSD, not NVMe, but can also be useful to someone.
