  Hi guys,.
  We are seriosly thought about the posibility to define ESXI - Hypervisor - with Iomega ix2-200 NAS. We were check the official documentation for Iomega. I checked that ix2-200 is supported for ESXI 4.0, but we are not sure if pressed for ESX 5.0.
  Someone knows this product is compatible with VMware? I have not found any associated IX2-200 and Esxi 5.0

  How to access the ix2 200 via ethernet to the laptop without a router? I tried with a DHCP server. It is assigned an ip address for laptops and 200 IX2. but when ping destination host could not be reached pop message up.packets sent 4, received 4 Can anyone help? assigned ip address 169.254.0.2 for ix2 200, 169.254.0.3 laptop.

  Your suggestion does not solve the problem. But I saw the NAS via router initially and then set a fixed ip address for the NAS in the settings. OK now.

  Not sure wheter ix2 is able to work with > 2 TB is spread over its USB ports, but normally you would create a copy job that contains "all directories".

  If your ix2 doesn't detect your USB, try to repartition your drive USB-2 to + 1 TB

  I see that Mozy is now discontinued in the Iomega ix2 NAS. I can't use Amazon S3 for philosophical reasons. Are there other available for off-site backup solutions? I tried to learn more about EMC Atmos, but I can't find a service provider that I can understand. I am very discouraged and I think that all the support has been ignored for this porduct.

  There isn't any software owner to access the ix2.

  They run out of network/Internet protocols.

  as long as you have the IP address you can access the user interface, and as long as you map the actions you should be able to access the data.

• Advice on appropriate hosts of ESXi and NAS network configuration

  I am looking for tips or best practices on the implementation of my ESXi 4.0 hosts with my NAS... Here is some basic information:

  -Certified VMware AberNAS with matrix RAID 5 SAS (2 x Gig NIC) drives

  -2 x HP Proliant welcomes each with 6-8 Gig NIC

  Currently, NAS NIC are associated to balance the load connected to two different switches.  HP hosts are also associated to balance the load connected to 2 different switches.

  Because I have a lot of NETWORK interface card on the server (4 used... but 8 in total), I would like to configure this to improve performance.  So my questions:

  1 can I create a new vswitch sin and dedicate the traffic between the hosts and NAS?  How?  Place them on a physical switch dedicated between the hosts, NAS and LAN?

  2. create a dedicated NIC for VM vmotion of hosts?

  3. any other configuration benefiting NFS and VMware?

  Yes - as I said with a single IP address on a NAS for the natachasery on the hosts would be in a configuration of active / standby - it is more about the fact that ESXi does not really load balancing between the two network cards but selects a teddy bear based on the source and destination IP addresses - so if any of these changes the traffic's not on a unique Teddy

• Iomega IX4 - 200 d - Boot Loop

  We currently have an Iomega IX4 - 200 d that is stuck on a loop of Boot Logo Iomega.

  The unit worked perfectly well and all the sudden we noticed that we had any access to the content.

  At the time that I arrived at the unit, it's this way.

  Content have already been recovered using a machine linux, and now the 4 HARD drives have been tested and are 100% functional.

  We tried a few methods found on internet, HARD drive partitions were removed and all, but we just can't get the device to work.

  Any help is welcome.

  I changed one of them to another hard drive 1 Tera
  the system will detect and remade the raid
  Then I change the drive with another 1 tera hard drive

  I'm not 100% but I think that when you rebuild the raid it will use only the 500 GB on the 1 TB as the other hard disk in the raid will be only a space 500 GB max.

  what I would do if the 2 x 1 TB work (be it only 500 GB) would back up data (can use one of the 500 GB hard drive) and the raid reset and wipe data then restart the raid with two 1 TB hdd in.

  My current setup is a macbook with an external hard drive to the iTunes library. I just bought a new Macbook Pro and am about to transfer my library from anywhere on my new computer. I have a very large iTunes library and I would like to be able to access it from my laptop, iPhone and iPad using Plex, Sonos or similar to primarily play music around my house. I won't have my Macbook Pro on all the time to play the music.

  Rather than copy my iTunes through library to my new Macbook Pro, I intend to:

  1 copy my current iTunes library to a NAS drive

  2. set the destination folder to iTunes on my new MacBook Pro on the NAS drive

  What is the correct procedure? Are there problems that? Does anyone have suggestions better?

  Drag the iTunes folder everything from the old computer to the NAS. Launch iTunes on the new computer while holding down the option/alt key and when prompted choose the iTunes Library.itl file in the iTunes on the NAS folder.

  The NAS must be on and wake up before from iTunes or the computer will forget the location of the library file and you use the option + method again.

  Some like the idea of a SIN to do what you want to do but iTunes and NAS don't do not always play very well together.  Make sure that you keep good backups against the day you post here saying that your iTunes library everything is a mess and you try to play a track and something completely different once. or etc, etc.

  I don't know about all of these interfaces you mention.  If you are hosting the music to an iPhone an iPhone can not read directly a NAS and you must have iTunes running to serve the media.

  For some time now, I not was able to get one of these for work. I am on a fixed income and can't afford to cable or dish tv. I uninstalled gadgets and reinstalled. I restored the system back to before that the problem started, and again, it won't work. I don't know what else to try other start everywhere with the factory recovery disks. The fix it is not solve this problem, or I missed it. Like utube videos are working but not of Viet Nam tv and Nasa tv. I don't want to miss the last shuttle launch.
