  • Firefox crashes when you open a windows Explorer window

I had this problem for 2 days, every time Firefox opens a windows Explorer window it would completely freeze, so every time I have try to save an image, look for a file/folder and so on. The problem started last night, but I had not added Add ons for firefox, plugins or installed new software on my pc. I tried to leave firefox alone when he did freeze to see if it be sorted, but when I went to check on it four hours later it was still frozen.

I installed the latest Windows updates two days ago. After that, I observed the strange question. Explorer Windows or any other application that bed the list of logical drives crashes from time to time for 10-15 minutes and does not respond. If I wait until he wakes up, he continues to work normally, but may crash again after some time. Sometimes, it may be in 10-20 minutes after the restart, or even in 1-2 hours after the reboot. The Task Manager shows not overloading CPU or memory for blocking.

My OS is Vista Home Premium x 64 SP1 computer HP Pavilion DV7 laptop, Intel Core Duo 2 GHz, 4 GB RAM, HARD 2 x 250 GB drive.

I completed the virus scan, tried to uninstall antivirus and any other software that can theoretically cause hang while reading list of reader, nothing done. Test memory not found error. Also done sfc/scannow. My hardware drivers are installed, Device Manager shows all the hardware without error in factory work. Event log contains no errors. The total number of windows updates installed the same day is about 60, I can provide the full list if necessary.

I don't know why it happened, but as you say, there is probably something at the start.

Next time that Windows Explorer opens, navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Menu Démarrer\Programmes\Démarrage.  If the folder contains a shortcut to explorer.exe, delete the shortcut.

Browse to C:\Documents and Settings\ [your user account] \Start - and repeat the process.

If there are no shortcuts for explorer.exe in one of these startup folders, close Windows Explorer.

Then, click on start / run... and type msconfig in the open: field.
    Click OK.
Open the Startup tab and look for to explore or Windows Explorer. If it is there, please take note of the registry entry that calls the Windows Explorer - and the details of the quote in your reply.

  • Sansa Clip is not display or play WMP and Explorer Windows files are on it

I used the Clip fortunately because I first had and managed to put in place.  I keep a large stock of podcasts on it and update the element using WMP sync several times a week when the podcasts are updated.

I installed the 1.01.29 updated firmware when it came out.  (From Windows Explorer it shows as 1.01.29A for some reason any.)

Since then, many of the podcasts that I already had on the Clip, which I listened to several times, became invisible and unplayable on the Clip.  However, I can see them in Explorer Windows and WMP, for example from the view of the Albums.  (I don't know why the synchronization WMP process puts podcasts on the Clip of music, rather than podcasts, but I don't really like).

I deleted all the files, reformatted the Clip and put the files back on.  Same story.  I also tried the addition of files that don't have no/plan lounge pulling them to the Windows Explorer.  Same story.

The really strange thing is is not random which arise and which don't.  All the podcasts in German, old and new, two web sources, view and play very well.  All podcasts new and French I had do not show in the display of the item.  Front of 1.01.29 all the files from the two sources has shown / played very well (with one exception, which I will post on separately.)

Does anyone else have this?  Any ideas?  Can I send sample files which work and which don't work for Sansa support if requested.

Place podcasts in the podcast folder, or make sure that the tag ID type is set to Podcast.

  • Explorer Windows (Vista) does not

I struggled for a few months with Explorer windows (Vista).  It all started after an automatic update that has been made by my computer.  Whenever I try to click on something on my windows downstairs bar it freezes and gives me the error message "Windows Explorer is not responding do not."  (NOT INTERNET EXPLORER)  I also lost my sound completely software.  Then, I restored my computer to a point of origin.  But shortly after that my computer re-out to date, and although my sound has no problem now, I always get the error message "Windows Explorer is not responding" very annoying whenever I try to use my windows taskbar.  The research I did I found many people with the problems I experienced.  But not onecanseem to give the right answer on how to solve this problem. It only happens with Vista. Y at - there anyone who can help?

    Hi coolis,.

There are many steps that we could try to try the basic step, it will take place the computer in a State of clean boot, put the computer in a clean boot state followed the following steps:

Step 1: Perform a clean boot

Log the computer by using an account with administrator rights.

    b. Click Start, type msconfig.exe in the start search box and press ENTER to start the System Configuration utility.  If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue.

    c. under the general tab, click Selective startup, and then clear the check box load startup items. (The check box use the file Boot is not available.)

    d. on the Services tab, click to select the skin all the Microsoft services check box, and then click Disable all.

Note following this step lets Microsoft services continue to operate. These services include networking, Plug-and-Play, record of events, error reporting, and other services. If you disable these services, you can permanently delete all restore points. Do not do this if you want to use to restore the system with the existing restore points.

    e. click OK and then click on restart.

Once you reboot check if the problem is solved in the clean boot state.

If the problem occurs not in a State of boot, follow these steps to diagnose the component program or start that is causing the problem.

Step 2: Enable half of the service

Follow steps 1a and 1B to start the System Configuration utility.

Click the Services tab, and then click to select the skin all the Microsoft services checkbox.

Click to select half of the check boxes in the Service list.

Click OK and then click on restart.

Step 3: Determine whether the problem returns

If the problem persists, repeat steps 1 and 2. In step 2, click to clear half of the check boxes that you have initially enabled in the Service list.

If the problem does not occur, repeat steps 1 and 2. In step 2, select only half of the remaining check boxes that are cleared in the Service list. Repeat these steps until you have selected all the check boxes.

If only one service is selected in the list of services, and you the problem persists, the service selected the cause of the problem. Go to step 6. If no service is causing this problem, go to step 4.

Step 4: Enable half of the startup items

Perform a clean boot by repeating step 1.

Click the Startup tab, and then click to select half of the check boxes in the startup item list.

Click OK and then click on restart.

Step 5: Determine whether the problem returns

If the problem persists, repeat steps 1 and 4. In step 4, click to clear half of the check boxes that you have originally selected in the startup item list.

If the problem does not occur, repeat steps 1 and 4. In step 4, select only half of the remaining check boxes that are cleared in the startup item list. Repeat these steps until you have selected all the check boxes.

If only one startup item is selected in the startup item list, and you still experience the problem, start selected in the list element is the service that is causing the problem. Go to step 6.

If no startup item causes this problem, a Microsoft service most likely the cause of the problem. To determine which Microsoft service may be the cause of the problem, repeat step 1 and step 2 without selecting the skin all the box Microsoft services at every step.

    Step 6: Resolve the problem

After you determine the startup item or the service that is causing the problem, contact the manufacturer of the program to determine if the problem can be solved. Or, run the System Configuration utility, and then click to clear the check box of the element of the problem.

Step 7: Reset the computer to start as usual

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

Click Start, type msconfig.exe in the start search box and press ENTER.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue.

On the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.

When you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.

Vista and Windows 7 updated drivers love then here's how update the most important.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system.
For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver,
Description, version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - device - Graphics Manager - note the brand and complete model
your video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now, click on update
Driver (this can do nothing as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then right-click.
Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party
with their own software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
    each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install
presents itself. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (sound card drivers
in particular that) so to install a driver - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat as
    necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW in the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER device - check
    manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable the facilities of driver under Windows
Updates, that leaves about Windows updates but it will not install the drivers that will be generally
older and cause problems. If updates offers a new driver and then HIDE it (right click on it), then
get new manually if you wish.
