Extension of wireless network breaks all network

Airport Extreme Time capsule, Airport Express, all the latest hardware equipment 2 x and all of this to date.

When I put the Airport Express to extend the Airport Extreme WiFi network, it breaks the whole network, all Wi-wired devices and are unable to communicate on the network. I have to pull the power on expresses to get things to connect again and then do a hard reset to make them usable again.

The extension of wireless is at a good distance from each other while they are all connected via ethernet.

Anyone familiar with this problem?

Also had one of the Airport Express replaced for this issue and has not changed the problem.

  • Extension of wireless network with 2 capsules of time falls internet router

I have a fiber broadband from the Danish supplier, TDC. A port on the router, I connected a TimeCapsule 1 generation and one of its ports, I have a cable to a new TimeCapsule in another room. The first TC is set to create a wireless network and the new TC is set to extend a wireless network. Both are on the same wireless name and password and both have the clipping value. This is according to the instructions that I found here on the forum.

HOWEVER. When you use this router configuration mentioned above keeps falling and interruption of the Internet connection. What could happen?

If I let the TCs create two wireless router maintains a stable Internet connection.

On each TimeCapsule, there are a number of devices connected to their respective ports. All IP are chosen by DHCP. I assume that the router is the only DHCP server and that the CHT are not IP for connected devices.

Any help to solve this is appreciated.

To connect nr2 nr1 TC but not the TDC router. The ports on the TC are just parallel connectors (except the one that connects the modem). Then you must set both to create a network: you have two networks.

Then give them the same name and password (or not, what you want).

When you want to extend the network, do not connect the cable to the nr2, but you should put nr2 where he received the Wifi of nr1 and then extend it. This also works, but is much less bandwidth.

  • Extension of wireless network for Apple - TV (4)

    Hello

My family has really wants to watch movies on Netflix and watch on Hulu.   We have Direct TV.   I have a network in place as shown in the image below:

    iMac 5 k, El Capitan 10.11.2 running

    The Airport Extreme.  (802.11ac)

Extended Extreme (802.11n) - fifth generation

Airport Express (802.11n) - second generation

    Apple TV (4th generation)

    Sonos PlayBar

The problem is that even if I have the Airport Express Terminal connected to the Apple TV and can display shows and movies, they stop every twenty seconds and then resume after thirty seconds or more.  I guess that's a common problem, but I don't know how to fix it.

Maybe this problem is due to the distance between the Airport Extreme and Apple-Tv (4).  The Airport Extreme and Apple TV are at the extreme end of the House, a corner of the street, in our TV lounge.

I wonder if I should get a second phone line installed at this end of the House and get get a second DSL modem/router and connect to a new Airport Extreme?  I'd rather not do that as it seems that I would have another Bill to pay.

I thought that maybe if I bought a helping hand from Sonos it would help with the audio portion of the wireless transmission, thus allowing a faster flow of the video game shows, movies, etc..

I would say that my level of skills as "moderate."  I admit I come only here when I'm in a jam and try to solve a problem.   I did my best to cope with this, but it does not work.  I am at a loss to know what to do.

    Thank you

    Patrick

    Here, I'm a little confused...

I have the Airport Express Terminal connected to Apple TV

The AppleTV connects to the AirPort Express using wireless or wired Ethernet wired?

Maybe this problem is due to the distance between the Airport Extreme and Apple-Tv (4)

This implies that the AppleTV will connect to an AirPort Extreme... .not an airport Express.

    We have Direct TV

Not sure that it would have to do with an AppleTV

    Can you clarify on that?

No matter if the AppleTV will connect to the Terminal AirPort Express or AirPort Extreme... connecting the AppleTV using a wired Ethernet connection is always going to be the best type of connection to use.  Free Wi - Fi to the AppleTV,... even though the airport is in the same general area... is probably not going to provide the kind of smooth, video performance without stuttering than you want.

  • Problems when using an extension to an existing wireless network wireless

I recently acquired a Netgear WN2000RPT which is an extension of a network from a router wireless wireless (also serve as DHCP server and Internet gateway). The extender implements a network connection to the router and admits PC connected to the network extenders in a manner transparent acess Internet (through the router). All works well with Vista but not XP wih. My computer XP SP3 laptop works perfectly when connected directly to the router (and I used it in WiFi systems). When connected wired to the Extender, all right. BUT when connected wireless to the dilution, it does not work. Connection established (documented in the PC, as well as in the extension). But during an attempt to access the Internet the Extender loses (documented) IP address of the PC (on the PC is shown no sign of lost contact). NETGEAR is a wellkown provider, but their support is grateful no problems with XP. They claim that the error is in my PC but all the parameters have been proven in the chats and emails, to be correct. Although no no not a network specialist I know that Vista has been a big step forward in stability network adding even layers in the protocols. This could be a possible cause of the problem and, if so, is there an upgrade to XP (or a KB article) that could eliminate this difference?

Good news and thanks for the comments.

As far as IPv6 is concerned, a quick way to say should run ipconfig in command prompt window.  If IPv6 is installed, you will see it immediately.

  • Bridge mode breaks down wireless network

I have a Time Capsule of 4th generation, I am creating an additional wifi network at the back of my house to cover a dead zone.  I'm not trying to extend an existing wifi, I seek to create a new wifi network but have it on the same network range as my network existing.

My ISP is a router that I have in my basement that has wireless on it. .  It powers up to one router links AC that all my devices connect to.  Then, this device provides wired and wireless access to most of the House.  However, I have a task of dead at the back of the House for the wifi.  So I have an Ethernet cable, which goes to the back of the House and who connects in port WAN on the Apple Airport Extreme / Time Capsule (4th gen).   If I set this device to create a new wireless network in bridge mode, it works for about 20 minutes to an hour and then causes a sort of problem on my network and all my other devices go crazy.  If I disable the router from Apple or back to NAT, everything's fine.

The only reason why I don't want to do this NAT device is because if I put it up to NAT then devices connected to the apple Airport extreme will have more access to the apple TV on the main network.

So I need no more shots on why the bridge mode does not work on the router from apple or I need to know how to get Apple TV visible on two different IP ranges at the same time.  Unfortunately, the Apple TV can be connected to both wifi and wireless at the same time.

    Anyone have any ideas?

Bridge should work fine... I would suspect that your TC gives signs of decomposition.

It is now more than 3 years old which is the best before date.

Try again using static IP method... I think it is more successful than the bridge.

Should be enough information in this post... but if not just give me all the IP info from the existing modem router to. I can then give you specific info to set the TC.

How to connect the! @# % printer $ fo the wireless network and enter the WEP key?

Instructions on the HP site tell me to selet NETWORK on the printer control panel.  Well, there's a way to select the NETWORK from the control panel.  It is not an option for him.

I downnloaded and installed the latest drivers.

I have restored the default settings.

How to select the wireless network and enter the WEP key?

All of HP's instructions seem to be for a newer printer with a touchscreen.

I want that the printer is connected to my main computer via the USB port.  I want to be able to print wireless phones and tablets.

My 3520 is not a 'touch Screen' and it has wifi.

    However, the following work:

Try to open the HP Deskjet 3520 icon, open the utilities tab, click on convert USB wireless, by following the steps on the screen.

This leads me to believe that ONLY the wireless doesn't work.  I know now that the part of the sentence "Convert USB to wireless connection" is supposed to mean "works like USB and wireless.

Number of brand and model of the router?

These settings are to set up your printer wireless (or wired):

    • Stay connected to your router
    • Trouble printer status 'offline '.
    • Wake mode 'sleep'
    • All wireless devices stay better connected

While the DHCP is convenient, devices like printers (wired and wireless) should always be assigned a (fixed) IP address manually to avoid conflicts on your wireless network and must be outside the range of the router DHCP.  After the adjustment of the static IP address the computer must be updated to show a Standard TCP/IP port with the IP address of printers under printer properties/Ports.

    1. Set a static in the printer IP address (click here) outside the range of the DHCP of the router (check your manual). It is for Linksys routers, but can be used for all routers. Check your DHCP range and change this first if necessary. More Help Wireless Printing is here and here and still more here.  Video here explains the problem and how to solve the problem. <--> So watch this!
    2. Or check in the printer "Auto Off/sleep/Energy Saving Mode" is disabled the System Mode Time Out is set to zero (0) Use the built-in webserver (EWS) by visiting the printer address IP address in the address bar of your browser, click on settings tab/Auto Off. Or use the printer, printer Home Page (EWS) Wizard. Also check your printer properties.
    3. If the printer supports and has IPv6 enabled, disable the IPv6 option in the printer.
    4. Make sure that the printer is connected directly to a socket wall and not to a UPS, power strip or a lightning arrestor. This will cause the printer to drop offline connection and disconnection (checked yes!).

  • 5740 OfficeJet All in One: 5740 printer OfficeJet connects but scanner is not on the wireless network.

    Hello

I recently bought the above printer and the printer connected most of the time, the scanner becomes more reluctant on my wireless network.

I just printed a document yet when I try to analyze only one or two seconds later I said it has not detected to scan. I don't know how the device connects - but because the printer connects OK probably is not a wireless connection / router issue?

The only solution I found to this problem is to restart my system which is quite frustrating and not an acceptable response to long term. When I do this the scanner seems to operate normally, at least for a while.

I installed all the software from the Web site, including the HP utility - yet I am also told that "computer scan can not be activated" because the software is not found - which is strange, because I installed all the software available.

    Any suggestions?

    Hey there @gggdfsdfsdaf!

Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!

I would be happy to provide you with some suggestions on the 5740 Officejet and its communication of scanning.  There may be a slight problem with the software.  I suggest you uninstall the HP software.  Once the software uninstalled I recommended to perform a "repair disk permissions" on your Mac.  A repair disk permissions is a utility built into the operating system Mac designed to detect and resolve problems or errors. After that permission to repair disc is finished, reboot your Mac computer and re-install the software.

To uninstall the HP software, click: uninstall the HP software

To perform a repair authorization disk click here: repair disk permissions

To download the Officejet 5740 software, click here: 5740 Officejet full feature and driver software

After the installation I recommend that you check the software updates on the Mac.  To search for software updates, click the icon "Apple" to the left and click on the "app store".  In the app store, you can click on the "updates" at the top of the window.  Updates install and Hp or a printer.  After the update, you must restart the computer.

You can also launch scans of an application on the mac, called 'Image Capture'.  For Image Capture click "Spot Light" (magnifying glass) in the upper right of the Mac.  Image capture type and it should appear as one of the first options.  Open Image capture and on the left side of the window should display your scanner.  The scanner can be listed under 'shared '.  Select your scanner and you should have the options and settings on the right side for scanning.

Please post back and let me know if this worked for you!

  • Connected to the wireless network, but can't see all the networks

I want to look at the properties of a wireless network that I'm not connected, but I can't do this, because even though I am connected to the Internet, some networks are appearing on the list. Please see the image as an attachment.

    Hello Nathaniel,

Thanks for posting your query on Microsoft Community forum.

According to the description of the problem, you are connected to internet but cannot see the wireless network through which you are connected. Perhaps, the reason behind this is that some settings get corrupted. Then try below mentioned methods and see if it helps.

Have you tried to restart the computer and check the status of your problem.

Try to run in built store and see if it helps you to solve the problem.

Automated convenience store is a tool that can find and automatically fix problems with your computer. These utilities are not designed to solve all the problems, but they are useful to try because they can often save your time and efforts.

    Run the network troubleshooter utility:

Try to follow the steps described in the article mentioned below and see if it helps you to solve the problem.

    Why can't I find a wireless network?

If the problem persists you can try the steps provided by Professor Grim replied on January 19, 2012 in the thread mentioned below.

Dell drivers and Utilities disc is weird... not me explainatory

Most laptops have a button On / Off to toggle the wireless connectivity to security purposes. Dell Inspiron are usually Fn + F2 (noted with a little blue on the F2 key). Try typing this key combination to see if your wireless network can easily be reinstated.

Fn + F2 is not correct, the other possibilities for a Dell would be Fn + F8 or Fn + F12. Look for the blue identification icon.

  • 114 the desire does not connect to Asus all-in-one wireless but connects to the wireless network

I just bought my HP ENVY 114 e all-in-one last week and I tried to connect it to my computer (Asus all-in-one Windows 7 64-bit) and while he wil connect to my wireless very well my computer (or my cell phone which is also an Asus running windows 7 64 - bits) cannot identify it.

Using the disc doesn't help nor did try manually to add in 'Add printer' in my computer and all the interest to get this particular printer was because it was wireless. If I have to plug in a USB key then I have saved money and bought a less expensive model. All my devices are on the same network, and their firewalls is turned off so that it does not hinder the process.

When you browse the drive Assembly he asks the IP and I get it exactly as it is on the screen printer that I even printed it out and double checked 5 times and it was exactly the same, but he keeps asking for me to be reintroduced to it since the computer cannot identify the printer.

Any help would be great I prefer not to have to pack up this thing and take it back...

Unfortunately, the router and the printer do not get along at this stage.  The IP address changes too often and it is possible that the router has its own firewall.  A large number of firewalls, outside the Windows Firewall, sees a lot of traffic from hpnetworkcommunicator.exe and blocks preventing the software to find the printer.

I saw this model of router and it doesn't have a built-in firewall.  Unfortunately, I could not see their manual without you register on the site.

It may be preferable to set a static IP address for the printer in the router's routing table.  To do this, you acceding to EWS the router.  If you don't know how to set the printer's IP address in the router, you can try to contact the vendor of the router.

Otherwise, I would recommend checking the firewall of the router.  I saw a router cause problems with an overactive firewall in place.

If you happen to have an extra router around, you can try to use it instead of Paul's to confirm that it is the router.

    EDIT

You can try to put a static IP address on the front of the printer.  I'm personally not too successful with setting a static IP address on the front panel when the SAP does not load, but this could be one of those cases where it does not.

First, print a Network Setup page by going to Configuration > Wireless > Network Configuration > print Network Configuration.

Then, go to settings > network > IP settings > change to the manual.

Once it is replaced by the manual, it should allow the IP address, default gateway and the subnet mask.  Use the subnet mask and default gateway of the print network configuration.  Use an IP address that is not in use on the network.  You can change the last number of the IP address on the print.  For example, 192.168.1.50 could be converted to 192.168.1.250.

Setting a static IP address on the front panel does not set servers DNS which is necessary for ePrint operate on this printer.  Now that the static IP address has been set on the front panel of the printer, try to access the SAP by entering the IP address that comes to be defined in a browser address bar.  If the printer load, you should be able to set DNS servers and be ready to go from there.
