Extraction of the decimals of a decimal (GPS NMEA data)

Hi all

I was wondering if you could give me a help please. I'm relatively new to LabVIEW.

Basically gave me two screws separated, which acquires NMEA GPS data from my GPS receiver and the fate in the form, Latitude: ddmm.mmmm and longitude: dddmm.mmmm. The other is a VI that allows entry of latitude and longitude in the form required by google maps, which then shows the location on an integrated card.

Here is an example of the nmea data received from my gps receiver: lat: 5227.2143, long:-00155.6721. What I have to do for the latitude is to keep the two first digits exactly the same (as part of the output dd), then divide the rest of the number by 60 to get in shape mm.mmmm. So, I would get a value of 52. (27.2143/60) which gives 52.45357. The longitude is calculated in a similar way, except that there is an extra digit, which is not included in the division due to the fact that this is the format dddmm.mmmm instead of ddmm.mmmm. Therefore, the value of longitude is - 1.92786.

Sorry if I didn't explain this well, but it is difficult to explain. So basically I can calculate all this very well myself, but the problem I have is to find a way in LabVIEW to remove specific decimals original numbers and then dividing them by 60 without affecting the characters I need to leave it unchanged, and then put them back together as a single number with a decimal point to the right place. Then, this can be put into the google maps search box and location correctly.

Thanks in advance for any advice,

Something like that?
