  • HP Mini 110-3530NR extremely poor performance on the Internet

My HP Mini 110-3530NR Netbook has very poor performance on the Internet.  I use Windows 7 Starter.

Say hello to new coppens1.  I apologize for the delay in my responses.  I have not received the normal e-mail notifications.

When I had to go to msconfig earlier in our interactions you make sure that the Synaptics driver load with Windows?  Follow these steps to check.

    1. Click Start, type "msconfig" and press ENTER.
    2. Go to the Services tab and search for "HP Software Framework".  This should load with Windows for a lot of the HP software to work properly.
    3. Then go to the Startup tab and make sure that anything it either by "Synaptic" is loaded with Windows.
    4. Save your changes and exit msconfig.
    5. Then go to your touchpad settings and, even once, make sure that the settings are correct.
    6. Finally, restart the machine and make sure it works properly.

I totally understand if you want to open a new thread as this covered a few topics!  Just make sure to send me a private message with the link so that I can make sure to help you here.

I wish you a beautiful day JC!

  • AO725 Netbook - poor youtube / netflix performance

Hey guys.  Bought a netbook Acer AO725-0826 in November last year and I had some problems with it.

There the processor C-70, a dual-core 1.0 (apparently up to 1.3, but I never see on 1.3 GHz).  The problem is that this thing can't even steam netflix videos (not HD) and low-quality youtube videos.  I have severe stuttering.

Is there some kind of problem with this processor architecture regarding the Flash (youtube) and Silverlight (Netflix)?

I wasn't expecting a power computer when I bought it, but I would have thought he could disseminate at LEAST two popular video sites on the internet without stifling.

It is not normal that our AO725 netbook is no stuttering in youtube or netflix video streaming. Was it your experience that you bought the product? If she worked very well at all first and then started having these symptoms you describe, it could be related to malware/spyware or even a bad connection/internet signal.

If you feel that this malware/spyware is the cause of the poor performance, I suggest reloading your operating system.

Another option is to test whether you have this problem everything to connect to other wireless networks.

  • WAIT times extreme and vm slow performance

In a cluster of 3 host R710 ESXi 4.1 (3 x 16 logical processors) DRS 18 virtual machines running on a virtual machine performance is really bad.

Glancing once ready nothing strange does not show, but WAIT times seems extremely high (some vm of maxing out at 20000 millisecond for longer periods).

I see that most vm have 2 vCPU and about 6 even 4 vCPU. I guess that the problem could be with the vCPU but do not know (its use and ready once are really low). Which could explain the high WAIT times?

    Concerning

The metric of WAITING % is not relevant because it includes idle time:

    http://www.yellow-bricks.com/2012/07/17/why-is-wait-so-high/

    % OF WAITING
The total percentage of the Resource Pool/world of time in a wait state.  That is, the world awaits a VMKernel resource.  Note that this percentage includes the percentage of time that the Resource Pool/world remained inactive.

If you really think a CPU bottleneck, RDY and CSTP % are the main parameters to be monitored.

Looking at once ready nothing strange shows

So how big are they really? Do not forget to put ready graphic vCenter summation values in proportion to the data collection interval (20 seconds in the graphs in real time).

But since I doubt you really CPU issues with 'only' 48 vCPUs in a cluster of 3 guests with 24 son of carrots/48 total, less than most, if your VMS running at nearly 100 percent CPU usage.

  • Airport Extreme - poor score from Consumer Reports

In the notes of June 2016 of routers by Consumer Reports, the Apple Airport Extreme was ranked 7th of 14 rated routers.

Linksys (EA8500) AC260 ranked 1st with an overall Score of 89

The Apple Airport Extreme ME918LL/A 7th place with an overall score of only 67 & wasn't 1 of 4 routers "recommended" by Consumer Reports.

I have currently 2 5th generation Apple Airport extreme with the 2nd 1 put in place as an 'extension' of the 1st (hard wired).

Am currently in the market for an Apple Airport Extreme 3rd - also to be used as an 'extension' of the 1st (also to be wired).

I had years of service with my current 2 extremes without any major problems.

But, I must say, this weak side causes me to rethink the purchase of one 3rd extreme.

In addition to an Apple 6 more belonging to both myself and my wife and one old iPad 3 belonging to my wife, I don't have any other products Apple.  I use Dell computers & have never owned a Mac.

    The qUESTIONs ARE:

Should I worry about buying the new Apple Airport Extreme Base Station?

The Appreciation of Linksys #1 is $60 more ($240) that extreme already expensive ($180).

    Is - it's worth the extra $$$?

Different brands of routers can be 'mixed' and used as in "extensions" of a 5th generation Apple Airport Extreme Base Station?

Should I worry about buying the new Apple Airport Extreme Base Station?

Perhaps.  The current product was introduced more than 3 years ago, and Apple did not of any material changes since that time. Because it usually takes about a year to develop a new product, the technology in the "current" AirPort Extreme is probably 4 years old.

Your next question might be... Apple plans to introduce new models soon?  The answer is that we do not know.

The Appreciation of Linksys #1 is $60 more ($240) that extreme already expensive ($180).

    Is - it's worth the extra $$$?

I have not used this model, but another user might have a few comments.

Different brands of routers can be 'mixed' and used as in "extensions" of a 5th generation Apple Airport Extreme Base Station?

    Yes and no.

Yes, if the routers are only connected together using a connection wired Ethernet cable.

Not in general, if you ask to have different brands "extend" the signal of wireless connection to other brands

  • Yoga 13 wifi is extremely poor

Note: there is another thread on this marked "Resolved" when he really wasn't. The original poster he marked this way, but the vast majority of people in that thread are always problems with no response from Lenovo REPS I hope that this new thread will alert officials to the fact that the problem is still ongoing.

I was measuring the performance of the Yoga 13 wifi, and it is much worse than my iPad and Lenovo X 220. Other devices are getting 2-3 bars in a room where Yoga cannot connect.

  • Extremely poor bandwidth WiFi - with Windows only

I have two laptops running Windows 7. One is mine and is about five years old. The other belongs to my employer and is less than one year.

Both computers have problems of severe flow with Comcast Internet service and WiFi router in a House to sleep during the work week. My room is one floor above the router, and horizontally, almost on top of it. The windows of the signal strength meter reports four bars. Windows has no trouble to make and maintain a liaison, but the flow is so poor that a simple web page takes several minutes to load, when I can load one at all. With common modern sites such as yahoo.com and ebay.com, the server usually expires before I can load a page at all. I have similar problems with e-mail.

I tried to use my laptop a few feet away from the router (in the living room of my landlady). Flow was not excellent, but it was good and consistent.

Last night, I tried to use the same computer in the lobby, about 20 feet from the router and separated by two walls. I had five bars and a very low flow.

No computer is having problems with the WiFi in my house (also using Comcast) or at my place of work.

I have a Kindle that communicates slowly but surely my rented room. It reflects the strength of signal as "good" or "fair". Another tenant uses a Kindle in the room next to me and has no problem. My owner use a MacBook and have no problem. She also has an old Windows XP machine which is connected to the router and gets a very low flow.

So, in summary, two on two Windows computers have severe with this router and only this router flow problems, regardless of the strength of the signal, unless they are literally sitting next to him. A third has problems of large flow with a wired connection. And non-windows devices three out of three have no this problem.

What happens here? Windows is just particularly poor to cope with real-world WiFi? Or is there some sort of incompatibility between Windows and this particular router or network upstream? How can I identify the problem and how can I solve this problem?

I am writing this wrap. I bought a TP - Link PA4020P Powerline adapter kit. I chose it because I think that I mentioned in a previous post: a product of brand with many not bad reviews that raised red flags when I read the comments and a rating average high. I also held a direct power connector.

I connected two adapters to two shots in my room and you press the pairing button. The lights of the fool said that pairing has been successful. I moved a lounge where the modem hangs my landlady, and presto, Instant Internet. After all I've experienced in the last two months, it was rather disappointing.

I would like to again I knew what was wrong, but since I solved the problem I can't complain too much! I recommend this to anyone in a similar situation, as long as they would be satisfied with a wired connection.

When I play a sound by using this method, it is extremely rough. However, this class is as simple as it can get, so I missed something? Or should I just give up on making this work on the PlayBook?

    Best regards

I don't see anything explaining why the code is so complicated, instead of just letting the Sound object directly play the MP3 file.  Why all the SampleData stuff?

Also, I've only skimmed it so far, but I see that block_size is hardcoded to 3072.  Why that value?  Have you tried others?  Depending on how much other work the code, it may simply not be generating as many samples per update (i.e. for each SampleDataEvent.SAMPLE_DATA) you should try to do it, then it 'get '.  Try at least 4096, or an even greater value if this is allowed... I vaguely remember 8192 is the maximum (although perhaps shared between the two channels).

How long the event runs itself?  Try to add a measure of the time at the beginning and at the end of this routine to see if it takes much more time that you expect... and longer than the time available to it.

  • Intel SRCS16 on ESX4 - poor write performance

    Hello world!

I need to change HD on one of my ESX hosts that have only 250 GB of total space, while we buy 5 HD 1 TB.

This weekend, I put another control (Intel SRCS16) Raid and connect a 1 TB just to copy a VM of old HD to the new.

Matrix Raid took less than 1 min.

Creation of partition on the raid drive took less than 1 min. (with fdisk)

Partition formatting took more than 3 hours (with mkfs.ext3)

    Test write performance with: time dd if = / dev/zero of=/mnt/share/test.test bs = 1 M count = 1024

    And took approximately 18 min. (1 Mb/s)

Research on google, I find some useful links.

    On the Vmware communities, I found this: http://communities.VMware.com/thread/105552?start=0 & tstart = 0

    But it does not work.

    Someone has an idea?

    Thanks for your help

SRCS16 Intel has some extremely poor write performance without cache enabled writable. For normal operations with write cache, you should have BBWC (battery backup). Enabling write without BBWC cache may lead to the loss of data in case of power failure.

    UPD. See http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/srcs16/sb/cs-020502.htm.

  • Tecra M3 - strange observation on performance of RAM (lack of)

    Hi people.

I recently moved up to 2 x 1 GB of DDR2 (533) on this laptop, 2 x 512 MB, and one day a week, there are, or so I'm curious and ran the SiSoftware Sandra benchmark of band memory bandwidth. The result struck me as less than it should be - band values memory bandwidth both Int and Float were ~ 900 MB/s, similar to a unique key of DDR1 on a platform VIA the database of Sandra and fall considerably short of still a single stick of DDR1 on a platform of Intel 855 chipset - and yet it is a laptop running dual channel DDR2 (on the 915 chipset). He got even more interesting, when I removed one of the DDR2 sticks, to channel unique and observed the same performance. Utility as memtest86 +, CPU - Z and Sandra are all the report I use actually dual channel when there are two sticks installed, then why is there no return thrust? Also latency memory test results are extremely poor.

Long story short, I have yet to understand the nature of this problem and, if is repairable, or is a material defect inherent in the design of this laptop. All tests without other stuff running, CPU - Z shows RAM running at 266 (533), 4-4-4-12 hours. BIOS is the latest available for the M3 w 1.20 / FBCF.

Here's what I've tried (may be forgetting something, it will add if I remember):
Tried two sticks and a stick, two my old RAM (which came with the laptop) and the new OCZ. Basically, all possible combinations are covered.
Memtest86 + shows no error after hours of testing on the RAM.
Charge Windows Installer, latest INF Intel chipset drivers etc, without change.

    Any ideas?

    I agree with Akuma.
I put t know what performance gain memory you expect, but I doubt that you feel in normal conditions of use

  • Gigabit slow performance

    Hi all

I just upgraded to a WRT320N.  Although each device on my network supports gigabit networking, I get extremely poor transfer speeds when connecting to other systems/readers on my network.  When I try to transfer a file between shared on different systems, or when you perform network backups, Windows Task Manager shows my network use about 2.5%.  It takes 2 days for 100 GB worth of backup files.  I'm no expert in networks, so I may have made a simple mistake.  Here are the details of my network:

    • The following devices are connected to my network:

      • Laptop: connected directly on the map of network router gigabit per window.
      • NETGEAR ReadyNAS Duo: Supported Gigabit network storage device
      • Desktop system: has two ethernet connections, support gigabit speeds.  I get transfer similar speeds regardless of the network device that I use.
    • I have tried the following with no luck:

      • Updated all drivers for recent versions
      • Updated the firmware on the router and then try again
      • Firmware Ugraded NAS then reset
      • Switched cables between devices
      • Changed speeds on the network cards to "1000 Mbps full-duplex.
      • Enabled/disabled-frames jumbo

The diagnostic on the 320N lights are green, which means that all connected devices are connected at gigabit speeds.  Can someone help me understand why my transfers are so slow?  Thank you!

I replaced three Cat 5 with Cat 6 cables and everything flies now.  I tried not to play with the firewall yet, but I will check that.  Thanks for your reply Binky.

  • S110 and PE T320 RAID 10 catastrophic disk subsystem performance - Server 2012-

Ordered nine T320 with 4 500 GB SATA (Dell/WD) configured drives in RAID 10.  Server 2012 Std.  32 GB OF RAM.

I had good performance of the T110-II and 4 similar drive RAID-10 using the S100 remote, but the difference is day and night between the S100 and the S110.

I reinstalled several times in different configurations to ensure it was the S110 which was the issue.  Using the latest version of CrystalDiskMark (3.02f) here is the approximate number, I see sequential reads/writes.

    T110-II w/S100 and 4x500GB RAID 10-220 / 215 MB/s.

T320 w/S110 and 4x500GB RAID 10-50 / 45 MB/sec with cache configured no read ahead and write through.

    T320 w/S110 and 4x500GB RAID10 - 60 / 52 MB/s with configured cache read-ahead and write again.

    T320 w/S110 and 2 x 500 GB RAID 1 - 50/45 MB / s

T320 with disabled S110 and just running a single 500 GB drive in SATA AHCI mode.    135 / 133 MB/s.  It's what I expected a same WD/Dell 7200 RPM drive.  No problem with the SATA AHCI standard.

This isn't a software vs hardware RAID question.  As I mentioned, I get massively on a T110-II with S100 in RAID 10.

Dell - I can't believe that you are shipping something as bad.  My preference is to understand why he is so bad and solve the problem, but if I don't get answers soon, that the server will be going back to Dell.  The server as it sits now is unusable.  I'm 10 years old, sitting in my pile of recovery servers that perform better than that.

[ADMIN NOTE: profanity removed by TOU] Reference Dell?

Info on CrystalDisk Mark can be found here:

    http://CrystalMark.info/software/CrystalDiskMark/manual-en/MainWindow.html

the numbers are sequential 512 k / qd1 for the values that I listed in my initial post.

What started me on this has been the new server was extremely slow during installation and configuration.  Then, I tried a few markers of disc and they all showed extremely poor performance.  I have listed CrystalDiskMark numbers because it is widely known and used in the comparative analysis.

  • Very bad performance in windows 8

    Hello

I just moved from windows 7 to windows 8 and in extremely poor performance.
Windows 7 my system is very fast and responsive. I7 2600 k, 8 GB Ram and 2 x GTX480 in SLI so much grunt but runs windows 8 so slow that my computer is useless limit.
Hangs regularly just for no reason and it is very annoying, especially after spending $50 for Win7. It is also a clean installation of full format for win8 should work at its best.
Any help would be appreciated. If this is the way, does anyone know if I can get my money back.
    Thank you

    Hi KmxRz,

What is the brand and model of your PC?

    Thank you!

Mine is a customized version, but it seems that my problem is solved.
My pc just prompted me to update with keyboard and microsoft mouse drivers (I thought they would be generic as part of windows I use microsoft keyboard and mouse) and the problem seems to have disappeared.
Looks like the keyboard and mouse drivers were win8 go nuts I think that maybe it's true, it seems that every time I hit the tab key to move between fields.
I hope that this is the solution.
    Thank you

How can I speed it up?

    Hi eugene.

try reinstalling the drivers for the chipset of your machine and drivers for the card (if any are available, should not be!).

If not, try another PCMCIA/Cardbus card where you can measure speed. If the speed is the same after reinstalling all the drivers, then try a biosupdate.
BTW, you can do the biosupdate without worrying if you try the adapter or something else.

    Good luck
