Eye color in CS4 on Windows XP problems

Problem: When I view an image in Photoshop, Grays have a color yellow/navy/red cast that shows not seen in other programs on the same monitor.

Situation: I was working on an image in Camera Raw and decided to convert it to grayscale.  After that, I noticed a casting decidedly yellow/tan in the picture.  I assumed that my monitor had to be stopped and then I used the bridge to display a SMPTE color graph that shows C, M, Y, K, R, G and B as well as black, white and gray.  I made some changes on my monitor settings to adjust the color and brightness until I was happy with all the colors and black, white and gray.  When I looked again the picture initially, I was working on it still showed an ochre dominant in all the gray seen only in Photoshop.  I decided to open the SMPTE swatches in Photoshop and the colors that looked great except the gray who was a permanent Tan and blue that has a very very slight shift toward purple.  In the preview window of the bridge, I opened the same SMPTE color graph, in the windows "Picture and Fax viewer" as well as in another image editing program I have and everything was air almost, if not completely identical and only how I think they should look with gray in gray real in my eyes.  In addition, I did a test to a test blog post and the grayscale image looks exactly as it should in IE and Firefox browsers.   But the moment that I put either the grayscale image I was watching or the SMPTE in Photoshop swatches color shifts becomes apparent.

Based on a response to a similar question in another discussion on this forum I changed my color of sRGB profile after that I noticed this problem.  I looked at them in their embedded profile original Adobe RGB and sRGB and also selected the color of not managing option and I get the same results.

The bottom line:  How can I get the greys seem to gray and blue to look correct in the Photoshop program, as they do in all the other programs that I discovered in?

Ideally, you buy a colorimeter and calibrate your monitor correctly with profiles of colors, but for now a full reset to the default settings in the monitor and graphics color map, setting of curve options should be sufficient. Your settings are just making bad things worse as the monitor has a wrong default color temperature in a first time or you already badly twisted it to death...

Which devil do you have this opinion?

A patch to CS2 will not help a CS4 installation!

  • Photos download of Windows Vista problem

I'm having a problem with uploading photos to my Dell Inspiron 531 that is running Windows Vista. I am taking perfectly good photos with my Canon Coolpix S4100 and downloading for photos with one cable from the camera to the computer. Shortly after they are downloaded, maybe a second or so, they distort: high contrast, low light, 3D effect, shadow. The photos are jpeg, and happens whenever I have download on this computer. They are very good when I download them to my laptop which has Windows Vista. I am only display photos directly via the photos and that is when there are distorted. I also use 3D inspection program and the photos are mixed in there also like in the photos. Any help?

Might be interesting to try to update your video driver... check
the site of Dell support for an update for your model.

If this is not the solution... it could be caused by a color profile.

  • How to change color text icon in Windows 7?

I spent an hour of Googling with no response.

I tried other forums without success.

The only answers I can find only apply to Windows XP.

I want to change the color of the text on the icons on my desktop and I'm running Windows 7 64.

I had to to the title of the window color and appearance, and went down to the police of icon, but the color is grayed out and I can't change it much matter what I do.

I can only change the size and the police, but not the color.

The thing is, I know there is a way to change the color of the text, because he was black and I was messing around with a few different options and know that it's white and after about an hour and a half of googling and trying to figure out what I did I can not yet understand how to change it back.

I took a screenshot of the area is gray and me being not able to change the setting, but I didn't know how to post it here, so I just did my avatar.

It can be quite difficult to do, but it's the best I know how to do.

    Help, please.

There is no way simple and direct way to change the font color of desktop in Windows 7.  From what I see, Windows will judge the background color and the font color of black if the background is bright, but you have to log market again to see this change - at least sometimes.

There is a downloadable freeware tool called TransText which allows editing directly.  Note: I have not personally used this tool.  And there is a secondary problem with the evolution of a light dark police using a tool like this, and that is that you have to disable the 'shadow' effect in the performance Options dialog box. When Windows performs the change she manages both the shadow.

Keep in mind that the "BOLD" of the police Variant can be selected, which makes it a little easier to read.

  • Cannot install Dreamweaver CS4 on WIndows 7.  Setup error

I can't install Dreamweaver CS4 on WIndows 7.  I get a vague error that says: Setup error, sontact Adobe customer service. Customer service Adobe refuses to help me.  That really bothers me.

First of all, I want to thank the people who have responded to my message.  I am impressed by your desire to help and interest to my problem of extreemly.  Thank you very much! I appreciate it.

I've not seen a way to get a transcript of my cat.  I should have it printed at the end of my cat. Overall, I think my concerns are with Windows itself and also how Adobe as a company manages a call from someone who gets a Setup error that says "call Adobe customer service. I bought this program runs on Windows 7 and I'm installing on a Windows 7 computer. I think that if Adobe will give a vague error message and tell you to contact them, they should give me more help "your product is too old, good luck on the forums. I could see if I call and ask him how to do something, maybe that my product is too old for this, but I think their reaction was unacceptable.  I hope that enough other people are complaining so that Adobe changed this policy.

Wow, it took a lot of time to deal with. I guess it's mainly a Windows file permissions problem, but I think that Adobe should a property for a client to have to spend many HOURS trying to install their program on the operating system original they bought the program for.

Certainly, I don't like the way Adobe Dreamweaver Setup treats errors. Here are the facts as I know them.

When Setup fails during installation, installation subsequesnt would fail, but it would give a VERY cryptic error indicating that the installation has failed and I need to contact Adobe customer service.

In order to re - install, I had to uninstall.  Naturally my UN-installs failed every time, too. After much trial and error and audit of the forumns, I found installation of program under c:\programs files. I deleted them, rebooted, uninstalled with no error.  Then I could re - install without the vague error "contact Adobe customer service.  Note that I had to reinstall several times to get to the bottom of the problem installation so it takes too much time to understand.

In the end, I had to manually delete the C:\Windows\Installer to get Dreamweaver to install.  It took a lot of time to understand, too.  It is always installed with errors, but he says that Dreamweaver would work with limited functionality. So far, it's good enough for me and I'm tired of non-billable expenses on that.

Following is one of the main erros I've had when you first install failed.  IF ANYONE KNOWS EXACTLY WHY MY INSTALLATION NO WAS NOT I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW.  IT SEEMS THAT IT IS NOT HAVE THE OPERATING SYSTEM PERMISSIONS TO ACCESS THESE FILES, BUT THIS IS NOT POSSIBLE THAT THE PROGRAM IS INSTALLED AS AN ADMINISTRATOR. Any thoughts?

Thanks again to all who helped!

  • Wrong colors in the main window

I recently started using Photoshop CS5 and encountered the following problem.

The colors in the main window not display correctly, but display correctly after the backup.  I don't know what is happening here.  I tried to set the default and even color management tried to calibrate my screen nothing works.

As you can see in the image below, the image in the main window is clearly wrong.  The colors are very strongly leaning towards the blue spectrum, but in the browser window, the colors in the image appear correctly.

  • DreamWeaver CS4 on Windows 7 64 bit

I use DW successfully and seamlessly since 1997 on Windows 95, 98, XP.

I have the same problem with DW 8, update the trial of CS4 and CS4 upgrade (bought) on my brand new 64 bit computer HP Windows 7 brand:

When I update an existing page of DW and save it, I get this message: 'access denied '.  On the version test and DW 8 on Windows 7, I get a message "permission has been denied."  I assumed that the purchased update would solve this problem.

So for each page update, I have to put the content into a new page with my template, rename, delete the original file, then rename the new file the same name as one that I've updated.  Sometimes this happens every time that I reboot and re - open the file.

It is particularly disturbing when I update a model - it'll only update files that allow me to access.  There are more than 500 files and I don't think I would have to release each of the template, rename, delete, rename and then return to the original.

What is a Windows 7 problem or a problem with Adobe.  What is the solution?

    Thank you in advance!

This looks like a permissions issue.  Check the folder that all these files to ensure that you have full access read/write on the files.

I guess my question is what I have to do a restore of the system under windows 7, before I can upgrade to windows 10? Or y at - it another way?

    Hello glockrow ;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

I read your post about windows update problems and wanted to help.

I would that be able to say that updating to Win10 was an exact science where we know exactly how he does it, and what it should - but the flooding of this and other instances of Win10 problem after that problem indicates that, at best, we are all guessing.

So, I think, from what I've read and done on my PC, is that you SHOULD be able to avoid the problem of missing updates by updating using Win10 created using this MS link media: 10 Windows Installer using the media - Windows help authoring tool

After you create the DVD or USB, NOT boot from it. Instead, insert it into your PC and, if it does not auto-start, right click on the file setup.exe and run it.

HOWEVER - and this is important - PC Win7 have a rate low success updated Win10 without problem - primariluy lack of OEM Win10 drivers.  Typical problems include display artifacts (to cause to be obliged to use the driver for the card of Microsoft Basic), not wireless and touchpad problems.  The drivers Microsoft provides have only the most basic features, with none of the extras that the HP drivers bring to the stage.

It is further complicated by the function Win10 GoBack, whereby you can return to your original operating system, being known to be unreliable. So when your upgrade machine malfunctioning, only then you discover that you cannot return the machine to work, that you had originally!

You can protect yourself against ending up with a damaged machine - seriously considering using a free third-party product that works for airport Imaging/restoration - Macrium Reflect.

Macrium reflect (MR) provides a FREE version that can be used to image and restore partitions or drives together.

What I recommend is the following:
    (1) download and install Macrium reflect (MR)
    (2) run M. and choose the option: "Create an image of the partition (s) required to backup and restore Windows" to write a full backup to an external drive or USB key
    (3) use the option to create a CD or a USB startup key

NOW, you have the means to restore a full system that works for the external hard drive or USB key in a few minutes.

So now you can recharge before with the upgrade, knowing that whatever happens, you will be able to return to your currently works in a few minutes.

    Good luck

I'm a volunteer and I do not work for, or represent, HP.
