  You can use the recovery disc or HARD drive recovery.
  I suppose that you created a disk of own recovery in the past.
  In such cases of booting from this drive and follow the on-screen instructions ;)

  You did do the right thing. But you created a Win 7 recovery disk, not the game of HP recovery disks.

  You can switch to Win own 10.

  To answer your question Yes Alan, when you wipe a SSD or 'format' you erase all the information out of him, so that your personal information will no longer be on this disk.

  You need start the game up more so that we can see if you have a backup, you can restore from. Go to settings > general > reset > erase all content and settings so that you get the Hello screen.   Here you go:

  1. Set your BIOS so that it uses the DVD drive as its primary boot device.
  2. Start the computer with your system repair CD. If you do not have one, ask a friend to burn you through the control panel / backup and restore. It takes less than five minutes.
  3. Press a key when prompted to boot from the CD.
  4. Select 'PC Repair' in the menu.
  5. Select 'Repair' when prompted.
  6. When you are prompted, select System Restore.
  7. Configure Windows to a point before you changed the password.
  8. Plan ahead a little and create, test and document an alternative admin account, same as you have a spare emergency House key. This will save you a lot of trouble.
