Phone blackBerry Smartphones can access. Need to reset to factory default.

My 8330's "m" key no longer works, and I need to enter my password, so I can't access my phone. I have everything backed up via the desktop software, and now I want to do a reset of the phone, and then restore the settings so that I can make outgoing calls and access my phone book and e-mail.

Is there a way to make a phone hard reset (i.e. to factory default) so that I can access my phone again? Any help appreciated. I'm willing to try anything, because my phone is essentially useless for anything other than incoming calls at this stage.

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

As full a long time that you have made a backup of your data, you can use this procedure to reset your BB to the default settings (at least for the currently installed operating system, that is).

Good luck and let us know!

I just bought a Curve 8330 last week. Like it, but the mute has stopped putting the unit in standby mode. It seems doing nothing now. I have perhaps inadvertently pushed the toggle button up as the mute. Don't know why it would turn off. Has anyone else had problems with this? Any suggestions?

You can try to reset the unit? With the device on, just remove the battery for 30 seconds and replace it. After restarting the device, try using the sleep button

  • BlackBerry Smartphones can access not again e-mail server POP of CompuServe.

This week, CompuServe moved their customers to a new mail server, "pop.csi.com" on the standard port 110.  We managed to update all our other e-mail clients to use this server without any problems.

However, any attempt to add a new email account using the interface web, is blocked by Blackberry web site tell us there is a problem and an error to connect to this server.  The deal climbed to CompuServe informs us that all other clients do not experience this problem, the problem is due to a problem with the Blackberry.  Of course, that the error of Blackbery said call "CompuServe".

So any ideas on what's going wrong here.  Is there a DNS entry that Blackberry is using the old CompuServe or they have not updated their routing tables or what?

How can we get in contact with a technical support person who can track?

Please help, we have a number of these blackberries that have become unnecessary at the moment.

Ah Ah... the trick is to put in a 'false' email account to begin, IE. [email protected] and then to let it fail and ask you the real parameters, rather than letting "detect" the Compuserve account settings.

    Works perfectly! Thank you!!!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones can send E-mails or change the default Services

    Hello

I have 2 email addresses on my BB Storm, a Comcast account and a job.  I have no problems when I try to answer an e-mail from work.  However, when I try to respond to an email from Comcast, I do not get an option "send", just "Save as draft" or many other options.  I read another thread who suggested I go into Options > Advanced Options > default Services.  When I'm here, these three areas, calendar (CICAL), list (SYNC) contacts and messaging (CMIME) are all set to "Desktop" when I try to pull it down, a black box appears on the word "desktop" and there seems to be no more options pull down.  Any suggestions?

    Hello! I'll jump in...

When you reply to an email from Comcast, your default value (of office) does not apply, since you're replying to Comcast. The default applies when you create a new piece of e-mail as the originator - it will default to send your default setting, you can override, by using the 'send' at the top of the screen, when you create the message).

But, since your Comcast seems to be mucked up somehow, you must (as also recommended), re - send service directories to try to get it straightened out. For me, the best way to send the books is to use your Web of BIS carrier site... If you do not know the URL, find it with this link:

    http://www.BlackBerryFAQ.com/index.php/Where_can_I_log_into_my_BIS_account%3F

If you have not used before, you will need to associate the Web site interface to your storm - and IMO that is more easily done on the storm... Settings > e-mail settings, create a username and a password (NOT a @BB e-mail account), then use these credentials to the site via a PC.

Once you're set up with the BIS Web site, you can manage all BIS configurations you have - and you will find a configuration option is to send the service directories.  What you will find also, is that to manage your BIS accounts via the site or the storm interface has the same result - if you change something in a single interface, it will reflect in the other... they actually control the same, simply via a different interface.

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not navigate some Web sites

I'm at my wits end. My wife has a curve, and using his blackberry, I can access my banking information online, followed by the parcel on the sites, to check all shipping.  On my Pearl, I can access sites, but I can't get my cursor in the areas of entry numbers.  I am making sense?  I tried to activate everything that I can enable... y at - it something wrong with my phone?

The curve came with a newer version of the operating system of the factory. You can try to upgrade the operating system on your bead to a newer version. If you are using a version of another carrier, you will need to delete or rename the file vendor.xml, otherwise it will not be installed.

    Hey AlanTaylor_854,

To answer your question Yes Alan, when you wipe a SSD or 'format' you erase all the information out of him, so that your personal information will no longer be on this disk.

I hope that this was the answer you are looking for.

  • HP Pavilion p7 1010: reset to factory default?

    Hello

Initially provided this hp desktop computer with Windows 7 Home Edition built in.   Last year Windows changed the OS to Windows 10 on this PC for free.   It works fine without any problems.   If in the future, if this PC never had to recover to factory default it install a new version of Windows 10 or return to Windows7?  If she returned to Windows7, is it true that I have to pay to upgrade to Windows 10 the free transfer period is over.

    Thank you

    Benamar

    Hello:

If you can get the PC to its factory default, you will get W7.

However, you can always clean install W10 if you (for example, replace the hard drive), using the tool of media W10 from the link below.

    https://www.Microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/Windows10

When you get to the part where 10 Windows asks you to enter a product key (you do not have), next door, there is an option "I don't have a product key" to select.

You select this option and W10 will proceed with the installation.  Once you're connected to the internet, the installation is automatically given that Microsoft has a record of your PC after having been previously upgraded to W10.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones can not access Media card with BB Desktop or Media Sync 9700

The other day I received a Reburbed Bold 9700 update.

I use Ver 6 Deskstop OS and the 9700 is running device code latest version 5.

I have a Kingston 4 GB media card that I know is in place because the 9700 recognizes it and when I go to files and select the media card, I can see all the files on the card and when I take a picture it is written on the card so I know that memory is very good and he sees the 9700.

The problem I have is BB Deskstop or latest version of Media Sync to see so I can transfer files to and from my PC and the media card.

The error message that I receive on the two applications, it's that I have to turn on mass storage Mode.  When I look at my memory settings:

    Compression - enabled

Map of media Support - on

Mass Storage Mode Support - on

Auto enable mass storage Mode when connected - Yes

I formatted the card successfully on the BB.

I tried another card memory (2 GB) and also properly formatted as well.

I also tried another USB cable into another USB port.

I had a BB hard reset by pulling on the battery... several times.

I had another before Blackberrys and have never had a problem of access to the media card.  I would have thought that it is easier on the 9700.

I did search endlessly on the Web and saw other people with similar problems but many were so simple that the card is not seated properly and it also had the symptom that the BB is not recognizing the media card.  My BB recognize media cards and use them, but I can't access the card through my PC.  I understand that I may not see a pendrive pop up in Windows Explorer, but I can't understand why the BB Desktop or Media Sync cannot access.

I know that both of these applications communicate to the BB cause I get requests for passwords and the desktop, I can view all my applications and I used to update the device until the last OS level during the troubleshooting process.

I just wanted to see if anyone has experience this problem and has tips, if not I will contact AT & T or go into a local store to see if they can help.  I just think I'm missing something that I can take care off instead of my own.

    Thank you!

    Hello

Have you tried to connect the device on another computer?  If another computer to recognize the device, it may just be a case of bad USB drivers on your computer.

Here are some KB articles that may be able to help:

KB19717 - BlackBerry smartphone is not detected as a USB mass storage device when connected to a computer

KB10312 - impossible to display the map of support using the BlackBerry smartphone

You also need to remove the USB ports on your computer (using Device Manager), and then restart the computer to reload the correct drivers.

An alternative to this is to simply use a microSD card reader which allows you to use the microSD as a flash drive.

I hope that this info is another starting point for you!

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not access e-mail, internet or BBM

Hi, I think I have a problem similar to the previous posters... my mother gave me her blackberry tour when it improved and I had unlocked it (from a cell in Sasktachewan provider) so that I can use it for my move to Dubai.  In Canada, I was able to use the voice, SMS, email access and BBM... through FIDO.  I couldn't see any internet icon so I hadn't any data plan.   He paid for everything.

I had a working VISIT before and was able to access the voice, SMS, internet, BBM... that's the difference between enterprise blackberry (which I suppose is available only for companies) vs the Blackberry Services (Email or social networks) for personal use?

When I moved to Dubai, I pulled the FIDO sim card and got a (Yes... sim card "du").  Then, I paid for and activated my blackberry services (email / BBM) However, when I tried to configure my email account, I got an error "your device had a problem connecting to the server.  I tried pulling out the battery, to register using the Advanced Option, host of routing, register online at du.blackberry.com and when I try to register there, I get the message that says that my device cannot be registered and to try to register through the advanced options and if it does not contact my wireless provider.

A technical support person come back to me and said that my blackberry service is related to my previous provider wireless (FIDO) and I had to call FIDO to get the PIN out.  I did this and FIDO said that he has been released.

I tried to repeat the previous steps for registration / establishment of email and I still get the same errors.

Initially when I got the sim card, they have enabled a social account of blackberry for me and it wasn't what I wanted so they it disabled.  I wonder if somehow my camera is actually saved with, but in terms of bad... so that's why I can't access email / bbm service.

Thoughts?  I'm kind again on the whole cell phone thing and not a techie so please be explicit.

    Thank you!

It is perhaps a silly question... and not to diminish the value of the forum... but is there a number to blackberry people can call?  It would be really nice to talk to someone who knows the phone knows what could be the problem (it took two weeks to tell me that I had to call my other provider wireless to the Canada to release the phone from FIDO blackberry service)

    Cindy

You can, but with a fresh incident support of approximately $49US by.

Otherwise, your mobile operator with which service you should intensify your call to support technical level RIM.

The 9630 is not okay to operate on, without some configuration real depth and even then it may not work well. You will need to follow the directions in the initial post of this thread linked below, and instead of Tmobile or ATT, you're going to need service books for the.  It's not easy.

    http://www.BlackBerryForums.com/General-9500-series-discussion-storm/180267-unlocked-storm-t-t-Mobil...

My best advice... because I've done this before... is to get a non-CDMA device that works perfectly on, as a model 9700 or 9780 or 9900. Not the 9630, 9650 models.

  • Access to blackBerry Smartphones can not in my BlackBerry ID

I tried to access my BlackBerry ID for over a month
but every time I get this message "Unable to connect to your BlackBerry ID account"
I tried to connect with my computer and he entered, but this isn't the phone I really don't know what the problem
    can someone help me please

    Hi Ibrahim73

Welcome to the Forums of the BlackBerry Support

Please refer to this Base of knowledge about your issue, also make a backup of your device, because ultimately you will have to follow # 2 of the workaround in this Knowledge Base:

KB28212 "Unable to connect to your BlackBerry ID account" or "Impossible to update your BlackBerry ID account information" error occurs on a BlackBerry smartphone running BlackBerry 7

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not send messages or make phone calls

My BB torch worked fine earlier, but there is an hour, it just stopped.  He has connections and bars, until in the Connections window bit. I tried it turn on and off as well as to take out the battery after it's off to reset.  I tried to remove all of my old conversations in the phone as well. I can still connect to the internet on this topic very well.

Hello and welcome to the community!

I suggest the following, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message to your BB to come...) Please wait for this before moving on to the next step):

    (1) registry HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network

    (2) remove and return Service directories

    • KB05000 Remove the maintenance book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account in the BlackBerry smartphone
    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service

    (3) restart to take batt

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! If this isn't the case, then you should contact your provider of wireless services for formal support.

    Good luck!

When I go to the host routing table is empty and when I try to save, nothing happens. I contacted three and they said that I need to unlock the phone fully as it says when they try to register it is impossible to add phone as the imei and pin code BB is registered with another provider of services. Then, I contacted t-mobile, who said they couldn't help me. I ask for some advice and help please.

I can access the internet, so I guess that cannot connect.  If I try to message etc, it says I don't have a dataplan... but it worked perfectily up to now.

Perform a simple reboot on the BlackBerry this way: with smart BlackBerry poweredphone, remove the battery for a minute and then reinsert the battery to restart.

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not access the Hotspot browser on Bold 9900

I recently bought a Bold 9900. Unlike my older 8520, this phone is an option to choose between browser and browser Internet Hotspot. I followed ' options > device > advanced system settings > push browser "and there is no icon for the browser. Then I did some R & D on the net and found out that the 7.0.0.261 OS does not have this feature. Instead, it passes to the browser or Hotspot on its own depending on what kind of service you are using that is to say whether a Wi - fi or BIS. I just want to know who is this thing, OS 7.0.0.261 true or there is something wrong with my phone. And if something is wrong, what can I do about it? Pease reply someone...!

    What you read is true.

New phones BlackBerry will choose the browser type for you on how you can access the database.

    See you soon.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Can I created my "BOLD" so that I can access emails only when connected to Wi - Fi?

I'm not a map of Blackberry, I use the phone via a prepaid sim (it's by Optus in Australia).

I have correctly set up Wi - Fi and it accessible from several different places (work at home, etc.). I would like to configure e-mail so that it is only through when I'm connected to Wi - Fi. I do know that if I have access to the services of data usually through my prepaid sim card, so I want to make sure that I do not my prepaid if credit I have set up the e-mail function and be able to turn the e-mail function on and off when I like (if you do).

Can it be done? If so, could you post the instructions. I am a noob to BB and have not used e-mail through BB before.

    Thank you for your help.

Call your carrier and ask on the price, but with the most basic, you can access e-mail, messenger, etc..
