Factory reset was completed?

I borrowed a phone originally, I used my icloud for connection and other things, but when I gave him back I factory reset it so all my information did not exist on however, I just receive a text asking the PIN code I had used for the phone while I got it.

Iphone 4 request the PIN last used when the factory reset? or was the factory reset not finished?

If you do not follow these instructions, then the phone was not completely reset.

  • A factory reset was carried out on a system and upgrade W7HP is back to W7S - how can we retrieve W7HP?

Well, I did a really stupid thing.

I bought a netbook HP Mini with Windows 7 Starter.  I bought the Home Premium upgrade via the upgrade online Advisor.  I decided to give this netbook to my father.  I wanted to make him a new installation and without thinking, I performed an installation of the factory and quickly lost the Home Premium upgrade.

Is there a way I can try to get this upgrade re-installed by downloading from Microsoft?  I was looking around in the contact section and I couldn't find the exact section to put this with pre-loaded questions.

    Thanks for any help.

The first thing you need to do is to get your Windows 7 Home Premium Anytime Upgrade key:

An e-mail containing your product key will be sent to the e-mail address associated with your Windows Live ID account or e-mail address you provided if you ignored the account configuration. Note: If you use an email tool or spam blocker spam filter, be sure that you can receive e-mail messages from microsoft.com.

What happens if I lose my product key?

If you lose your product key, you can return to

www.Windows7.com/GetKey and sign in using the "Sign In" link in the upper right of the page. This will allow to recover your product key if you have established your account with your Windows Live ID. If you do not configure a Windows Live ID account initially there is no record of your online product key. Check your e-mail since it is the only trace of your product key.

New computers coming often pre-installed with Windows 7 have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.

-Acer use F12 on most of its systems, but often you need to go into BIOS to allow

    -Dell uses F12

In general, look at the screen during the POST for a tip for what is possible.

If your recovery partition is not available or damaged, you must contact the manufacturer of your computer, and request that a defined recovery disk you can use to reinstall Windows 7. They could practice a small shipping and handling.

  • HP Pavilion dv7t-4100: Factory reset when Win7 was removed from the main partition

I'm preparing this old laptop for sale. I started on a USB key and erased the C: partition where Windows 7 was installed. I then he reformatted to NTFS and set it as the partition active.

When I rebooted and you press F11 to get to the system recovery, I get a message, there is no operating system on drive C.

How can I do a factory reset at this point? The recovery partition is still there, I checked, so it's good. I have the ISOs for CD recovery, but I need to burn to disc to use. Is there a way to perform a factory reset of the recovery partition, without going through the hassle of doing this? I heard that there could be an option to boot from a USB?

    Thanks in advance

  • HP Stream 13: Wifi disappeared completely, even after factory reset.

    Hello

We had a trouble that started with the laptop does not not on one day. We managed to turn it on, but now there is no wifi.

In programs and features I see there is a driver Broadcom "installed" but there is no version and there is no file size. I deleted and tried to reinstall a new driver, but that stops at half way through and doesn't seem to work.

In device manager there is no sign of a wifi device, it's as if it disappeared completely.

I tried all types of factory reset, same one that completely resets all doesn't seem to work.

I have no way to connect the laptop to the internet because there is no Ethernet cable port. So I downloaded the driver on a memory stick from another computer and it stuck in the said laptop - no joy.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

  • Cannot complete the factory reset

I got the error following when trying to do a factory reset - 0xe0ef0003.  He successfully reformatted my drive, so now I can not start, but he couldn't just by downloading the necessary files to reinstall Windows 7 top 16% download with the above error code.  Appearently, it cannot order a disk to install either... Need help, fortunately I have a Chrome OS flash drive so I can still access the internet (it's my computer only).  I have all the original equipment on my HP G71-340US lap top Pavilion.

    Hello:

I can't help you with why the recovery disks do not work, but if you can still read all 25 characters of the product key of W7 Home Premium on the bottom of your laptop, you can make your own regular installation of W7 media and which allows you to reinstall Windows.

However, you will have to get access to another Windows PC to do this...

Here's the W7 x 64 Home Premium ISO you need file...

    http://MSFT.digitalrivercontent.NET/win/X17-58997.ISO 2147483647 English Windows 7 Home Premium x 64 X 17 - 58997.iso

Then you can either use a DVD burning with an ISO file, option of burning to burn the file on a DVD program and make it bootable, you can use this tool to transfer the file to a DVD or USB flash drive and the program will do this bootable file as well.

    http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/HTML/pbPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool

After you get W7 x 64 installed, you can download and install the drivers and software available from the support page and the driver for your model.

  • Want 750-103D: secondary drive is wiped clean on factory reset

I've screwed to the top of my installation of office and had to do a factory reset. All my applications were in the main drive and no apps such as photos, music, documents in my secondary hard drive. As a precaution, I unplugged the secondary drive before I did the factory reset. After the factory reset desktop started successfully. Then I stop and plugged back the secondary drive but to my horror on 2nd boot my secondary drive had been wiped and all my apps not disappeared. I don't understand.

    What have I done wrong?

I don't think that something was wrong.

The new operating system is not reading secondary drive completely as the file system may be different.

Assign a drive to secondary drive. Press Windows + R, type deskmgmt.msc and press to enter. Here, you would see a drive or disk space that would be unassigned. Right click on the drive and assign a drive.

    or

Insert the image secondary drive in an external hard disk enclosure and connect an external drive and you should find the content.

If you have disconnected the secondary drive there is no way of that new OS will erase the content, unless you asked.

  • How can I make a my Flipout factory reset?

Hey everyone, I was wondering how do a complete reset of my phone Flipout? I downloaded an update supposed (it was announced earlier today) Motorola, but I think that its actually regressed my phone software and I lost many of my apps, so I would go back to square one if possible.

    settings-> privacy-> factory reset

This will not remove the update, but will make the phone as it is out of the box - you need to redo the installation.

Remember that if you use the same MotoBlur account to set up the phone, it will pull the MotoBlur server settings (if your phone has MotoBlur - some international phones are not).

    Hello:

I had to make a drastic clean the C drive of my ENVY 17 laptop and did a Factory Reset. I was able to reload Windows 8 Pro to my USB stick recovery.

However, Windows 8 Pro cannot be reactivated indicating that the product key is invalid or blocked. I understand that this is due to having the OS completely cleaned and formatted drive.

    My questions are:

    1. Will be the HP (which is available on order) recovery disks be able to help solve the situation described above?
    2. It will allow me to reactivate my Windows 8 Pro?
    3. Will the recovery be HP discs/media contain or are marked with the correct Windows product key?

  • Envy of HP Touchsmart m7-J120Dx: help please - Factory Reset failed on HP Envy

Recently, my touch screen laptop was suffering from extreme "ghost key" that made the laptop basically unusable until what I disabled the human and used only the mouse interface. I went on a popular site that has accompanied me through many scans detailed and determined that it was not a virus/malware issue.

So, I tried a system restore and that didn't help. Next step was a factory reset picture using the recovery disks that I made at the time of purchase. After 3 attempts, resetting continues to fail. He always looks promising and gets to the 'Welcome to the administrator' screen but then returned to "installing the software" finds himself finally on-screen "restoration incomplete". When I try to record the details of newspaper on a DVD it says that there is not enough free space even if it's a blank 4.7 GB disc. I took a photo of the paper (attached) if that helps.

On a side note, in the "software installation" process the blinked eye at random and this frame which seemed to be menus drop down open randomly for fractions of seconds in the background... which none appeared kosher to me - but I'm not expert tech. "."

  • Factory reset and wiping Cache

    Hi all

Several times on the net, we heard that, the way we are going to pass to the lollipop while doing a major OS, upgrade, it is recommended to do Factory Reset and wiping Cache.

That wiping cache is concerned, it of nothing, but formatting for the cache, they average in the swap partition linux is formatted. But what is the technical reason to do a Factory Reset? It's a real pain to reconfigure all the stuff after factory reset.

Anyone can throw some light on this?

    Concerning

    Sébastien

There is no official reason - but my reason is because of my experience. Years as a system administrator, put computers in Windows for Workgroups, Windows NT level would still be some issues. The same model machine with clean installs of the software even played very well. After some tests, I was convinced that upgrades on the spot can cause problems. I don't even do on-site on OS X upgrades - they have issues like Windows.

I noticed the same behavior with improvements in phone (Android, Apple, WinMo) - some applications does not work, the battery life is poor, etc. An upgrade to the Atrix HD and I was missing the options menu for SmartActions - until I did a reset, certain features of this application has been completely absent - it was an integrated application of motorcycle, and nothing else has worked.

If you want only some technical reasons for why this happens - there may be several:

    • can install applications with different parameters depending on the operating system - unless you uninstall and reinstall applications after the upgrade, none will have the settings that correspond to the BONE

    • The OS settings which are carried over after an upgrade, which may not be suitable

    • Operating system for the new operating system that is not set, because of legacy apps being present

    • Upgrading test - it is not possible to test with all the combinations of installed applications

Since there is currently no upgrade E published, he does not worry about now. But when the time comes, do the upgrade and see how your phone works. If it works OK then go to reset. Personally, I do the reset and only re-install the apps that I use. It is a good time for me to dump a bunch of junk.
