ThinkPad edge windows 7 files disappear, factory reset?

I bought an edge thinkpad with the windows operating system 7, it works fine but recently when I save files in my documents or mp3, movies, etc., and then sign and return the next day or even a few hours later the files are completely missing!

Not in the recycling not just hidden bin disappeared as if they were never even recorded in the first place!

Anyone have this experience?

Anyone has also done a factory reset using rescue and recovery.if was so he managed?

Only the Ultimate edition allows you to change the language after installation.

  • Does support windows windows vista after a factory reset on a Dell Inspiron 530

I'll perform a factory reset and reset on my Dell Inspiron 530 which has windows Vista Home Premium installed. My question is will download all the drivers and software factory or update the system if windows does not support Vista? It's my first time doing this, and any advice will be appreciated. Thank you.

Microsoft dropped support for all versions of IE prior to 11 and only allowed up to version 9 under Vista. Also, Google dropped Chrome support for this operating system. Office 2013/2016/Windows Live Essentials all do not support Windows Vista.

Review the operating system at the end of life.

Theres no official free upgrade path to TH2 10 Windows, however, you can use the unofficial 10130 upgrade path. The Inspiron 530 works on Windows 10 wells 64bits TH2.

I don't know a thing about windows, so please, anyone with advice, she would appreciate it a lot.

    • Were there any chnages made on the computer prior to this problem?

Run the verification and virus scan online if any malware or virus detected on the computer activity. You can run the scan for viruses online from the link below: http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

NOTE: Make sure that you select the correct version of the operating system before downloading the scanner.

You can also download and install Microsoft Security Essentials, which is free and it updates automatically

The files and Settings Transfer Wizard won't work on Windows 7, you must use Windows Easy Transfer.  But in both cases, the original files are copied only - not deleted.  They remain on the source computer.

  • Issue of ThinkPad tablet 2 Factory Reset reinstall Windows

Please help me. I have problems to reinstalling windows on my thinkpad Tablet 2. I have a long enough thread explaining my problem here, http://forum.tabletpcreview.com/lenovo-ibm/62633-thinkpad-tablet-2-factory-reset-reinstall-windows.h... if someone could help me I would be very grateful. I'll copy and paste the thread here, if I have to, but it's just easier to copy the link.

    Fastest salvation,

I had similar problems to you with a number of our TPT2s. They are really picky when it comes to boot from an external support. Here's how I got mine to (possibly) regularly start on external media. However, one thing to note is that, in order to recover Windows 8 on it, you're either going to need disk recovery Lenovo or an installation of Windows 8 of your own disc. I have no idea if the drivers listed on the Lenovo site will work with anything as old as XP, although I remember some Windows 7 see so if you have a Win7 disc you might try that.

    1. disable the Secure Boot UEFI in the BIOS. [BIOS |] SECURITY | SECURE BOOT | [* Change the secure startup flag ' disabled]

2 get some kind of separator/hub USB so that you can plug your external DVD drive with a keyboard (Microsoft still require you to "push any key to boot from CD" and touch the screen does not count).

    3. with the drive and the keyboard is connected, set the boot order in the BIOS so that the CD/DVD drive is the first boot option. I also push the Windows boot manager at the bottom of the list if it is there. Do, but I'm a superstitious Guy and save the changes.

    4. as long as the DVD drive has adequate power (need an external power supply. He cannot draw enough power from the USB port of the tablet to run) and you have a Windows disc 8/7 in the drive, you should now receive the message "press any key to boot from the CD-ROM. Press a button and it should... Finally... it takes much longer than any normal device... starting in the installation menu.

Each step of this lasts longer than you expect. For example, it takes an age for the message "Press any key" is displayed. It just sits there with a black screen and the DVD blowing away.

That's how I got mine to work in any case, best of second chance.

  • Factory reset for VGN T37GP and how to back up the files of windows before hand

I have to do a factory reset for VGN-T37GP (Australian model?)

I need to reload the Windows operating system and delete the previous owners files.

There is 1 link on which I can click on the Sony site that will do it without too much hassle?

I don't have a copy of the Windows operating system either, I was wondering if Sony which will provide once I click on the link? (There is a sticker windows with serial details on the back of the Vaio, so I think that Sony will provide it).

Can someone direct me to where I can find a link to the question above? Thank you.

Also noticed a lot of heat in the upper left rear of the Vaio. I'm guessing that it may break soon.

    Model VAIO: VGN T37GP

What is the life expectancy of the Vaio model: VGN T37GP? On average?

I don't have the recovery disks. They are free to download?

    Hi herb,

I am very surprised that computer technology has not corrected other problems since the it had replaced the power supply and should have the knowledge necessary to get you up and ongoing enforcement.

Read this publication articlefor your PC on the conduct of HP recovery.

If you do not have a set of external support of HP recovery, then you should consider ordering a set of HP as soon as POSSIBLE, you might have other issues that may require external support.

  • HP Stream 13: Wifi disappeared completely, even after factory reset.

    Hello

We had a trouble that started with the laptop does not not on one day. We managed to turn it on, but now there is no wifi.

In programs and features I see there is a driver Broadcom "installed" but there is no version and there is no file size. I deleted and tried to reinstall a new driver, but that stops at half way through and doesn't seem to work.

In device manager there is no sign of a wifi device, it's as if it disappeared completely.

I tried all types of factory reset, same one that completely resets all doesn't seem to work.

I have no way to connect the laptop to the internet because there is no Ethernet cable port. So I downloaded the driver on a memory stick from another computer and it stuck in the said laptop - no joy.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    @Bradley12345,

Hello and thanks for the display on the HP support forums.  If you wifi does not appear in Device Manager, that this means that the map does not work or is not connected properly.

Here is a link to the manual for maintenance of your system.

You can use this to see if you can access the wifi card to make sure it is placed correctly.

If you are not able to do this you want to contact the HP support by phone for repair options.

  • Factory reset after re-installation of windows with a different key

    Hi all

    I bought a laptop HP dv7-7264ez, with 8 pre-installed windows ENVY.

After installing linux and messed with the boot settings, I need to re - install windows. Because I had not burned an iso of Windows 8 or extracted from my windows product key, I asked a friend to to burn me a DVD with his version of windows (Windows 8.1 pro). I did a reset of the PC of the utility of windows with this new version.

Now, I try to get my old version of Windows (normal, not pro) for reasons morals and because I can't "activate Windows" with the version of my friend.

To create a Windows DVD, I downloaded the Microsoft tool and extract from my current product key with this tool. The problem is that the extracted key is the version of my friend and it is not valid to create a .iso for Windows 8.

In other words, I need to get my original Windows product key!

Is it possible to do a factory reset 'real '?

Or y at - it a database with all affected Windows keys?

    Thanks for your help!

    VincenT

    You are the very welcome.

You may need to install the driver sata for your model.

    Try this...

Download the drivers from this link below (first or second file listed - 32 or 64 bit depending on the case).

    https://Downloadcenter.Intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?AGR=Y&ProdId=2101&DwnldID=23060&keyword=Intel+RAPI...

Extract the files on a usb flash drive.

With the flash drive and the installation of W8 media plugged into the machine, boot from the installation of W8 media.

After selecting the install now option, select the training - Advanced menu, Options and select the option load a driver.

You should now see the storage driver files listed.

If you check the box, it only includes the compatible driver.

Follow the prompts and if this is the problem, install W8.

There is no way I know of to recover the product key.

It works with an OEM W8 as XP installation disc used for in ancient times.

You had to match the installation media with the type of product key (OEM, sale retail or upgrade).

  • Windows 7 future re-setup on ThinkPad Edge

I recently bought a ThinkPad Edge 15 with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 pre-installed.  Aware of the potential future drive hard faults, or the operating system itself screwing (I got two of them over the years), I have

    • image of the disk by using the Toolbox, and this image now resides in the Q drive
    • a disk recovery & Rescue CD burned

I found the product key, under the battery ok...

    Questions

    1. Will there now be a version of the preinstalled version of Windows 7 on one of these, because after trying to have a glance using Explorer, it is not clear that there is?
    2. The rescue CD & recovery has a pre-launch and a startup folder, but Windows 7 there?
    3. If not, is it possible to make a copy of Windows 7 pre-installed?

Thanks for any info on this.

Your back ups include Win 7 and all the programs that were originally on the hard drive.
You also have button Rescue and Recovery, which can restore
    to factory State (original).
